We ordered the famous special sinigang sa bangus, kare-kare, crispy pata and pancit bihon. The food was great and the ambiance was cozy :) If there will be another team lunch near ABS-CBN this will be the place to go :)
Our TV production group had a long creative meeting that when we finished past seven in the evening, that all we wanted was to eat. And eat good. And good meant not with the yellow, gayish clown and horrors, not with the big, fat bee. Since, everyone works/worked with ABS-CBN (I was with GMA), they all agreed to meet at Kuya's sa QC.
Upon entering, darkness greeted me. Not darkness-darkness but darkness that any foodie would hate. Why? Not enough light for a passable photo. Its the type of darkness reserved for fine dining. Its the type that you expect a violinist grand entrance any moment.
Then, you study the menu. You see the prices. Pang-fine dining nga.
Anyway, everyone started ordering. I just ordered the alleged popular twice-cooked Adobo and Kare-Kare. It didn't take long for them to served the food. I attacked the dry pork Adobo with the sauce served separately.
It was very good. Its the food you secretly hope that no one asks a piece of. Its the type that you order for "extra rice." The meat was tender and fried just right. The sauce? Unforgettably salty. Not the bad salty but the saltiness you can easily neutralize with more steaming rice (thus, "extra rice").
How about the Kare-Kare? It was equally good but it was the twice-cooked Adobo that really stole the show (well, for me.)
I suggest that you put on more light, just a little more. That's it.
