Via Mare is the first restaurant that comes to my mind whenever I have to set a meeting in the Diliman area. The quality of their food is consistently good, and their servers always, always serve with a smile. My favourites are their pakô salad, their monggo soup, and their pinaputok na tilapia! And of course, there’s their irresistible bibingka! Just writing about their food makes me feel like driving to Via Mare right now!

I love the service
I love the chairs , they're so comfy. All Their food is delicious. Unfortunately it's quite expensive. The chicken Inasal is so small that once it's served you'll think that you got 3 sticks of fish ball.

The variety is limited. I think it went down through the years. When I was younger they had the best calamari but it isn't on the menu anymore.

Parking is easy

Ambiance is average

Overall it's the perfect place to go when you want delectable Filipino food and don't care about it's Instaworthyness or price

I first ate here when I had my entrance exam in UP. Staffs are easy to approach since they only customers they have when I visited are two groups, food are hot and delicious too, it is kinda pricey for Filipino food but it's worth it.

I'm a fan of their food, but not their service. Every time I go here, I just think about the good food they serve and try to ignore the fact that their servers / attendants are not the best at their job. If they can only improve their service, then they'll get a perfect rating from me.

My recommended dishes are:

1. Salpicado - I order this EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is a big hit for me as I love its taste and the generous serving. It even comes with fried lumpia with veggies inside. Highly recommended.

2. Crispy Vigan Longganisa - This pandesal sandwich is the perfect snack for garlic lovers like me.

3. Vigan Longganisa - For a hearty breakfast.

4. Bibingka - Just yummy!

5. Puto bumbong - Delish!

Ambiance is good for short meetings and meet-ups but most of the time the place is crowded. They serve big portions for most of the food in their menu.

My favorite is the ginataang halo halo which is good for two. They serve it hot and is not too sweet for me.

The resto also serves affordable student set meals because the cafe is housed in the Asian Center and is near UP Law.

Overall, a recommended place if you're craving for Filipino food.

We go here for meetings, especially for breakfast meetings. They open as early as 7am. They have attentive staff and they give generous servings of food. They also have budget meals which is affordable for students!

Delicious Filipino food and the ambience is perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch. The place is cold so bring your jacket. Most of the customers are old people because it also doubles as a cafe.

We had the sinigang which was hot and flavorful. I personally liked the pork bingoongan as it was cooked just right to get the perfect tenderness. The tapa was crispy and flavorful but methinks they served just a bit too little of their tasty achara.

To top things off, I had their cassava cake which was absolutely nice. Full tummy for me.

The service was also quick and the servers very accommodating. Great place to bring your family.

While waiting for a break for delegates to visit our both in an event at GT Toyota called Aspire we took a quick brunch pit stop here.

It's a great go to place for brunch with a bunch of their affordable desserts and appetizers. So we had a semi of sorts and ordered quite a lot.

Not all were good, some were decent and three dishes stood out. Overall more than a passing score. Must try includes their best selling Pancit Luglog, Bibingka and Ginataang Halo Halo.

This place deserves a big thumbs up! Just with the coziness and the design and how clean and bright the place is. Plus the parking space is spacious and for free. The waiters are all happy to serve you with those smiling faces. The food is very delicious too! I love their sinigang na hipon and the crispy pata that is very crispy and flavorful. Plus the salads have very good dressing! Only negative side is that they don't offer much on the desserts side but over all, I will definitely go back here :) ps. Wasn't able to take photos because we were so hungry already!!! 🍴🍴🍴

I love the Vigan longganisa breakfast meal. I would have it everyday if only my cardiologist wouldn't disapprove. It would benefit a lot with a side of atsara, carrot sticks, singkamas, or any fresh veg.

The bright sunny venue was a breath of fresh air to the restaurants in the area. Aside from the fact of having that ambiance to add to the mood of their diners (we went there to celebrate my cousin's graduation), it surely made food photos more radiant. Hehe. No need for filter. :)

Aside feom the venue, of course, Via Mare has been around for years because of their food. We ordered their Crispy Pata that was so crunchy and feels like the skin just melts in your mouth. We loved their Ensaladang Pako with its sweet refreshing vinaigrette. Another favorite was the Oysters Parmesan, oysters baked to perfection. We also ordered their Kare-kare, Fresh Lumpia, Palitaw, and Pinalutong na Tilapia. Aside from the food we ordered, our family also loved their bibingka and puto bumbong. 😊

Venue was just a bit packed when we dined since it was UP's graduation day. Good thing they accept reservations.

Hello Sweeties!

I usually pass Cafe Via Mare located at the GT Toyota Compund every working day but I never found the time to dine there. I am thankful to get this opportunity to taste and enjoy these exceptional Filipino Dishes.

I got to taste the following:

Enseladang Bagnet
It was strange sight for me to see sinfully crunchy bagnet in a bed of healthy greens. Somehow it works. I am tempted to just pick on the crispy bagnet but I held myself back, together with a light vinegarette it a great appetizer for the next dishes.

Fiesta Rice (fried rice, salted egg and tomato) I am a fan of fried rice, I can actually dine on just this alone.

Crispy Pata I tried to retrain myself from eating too much but I failed, the pork was just soo crispy and mouth wateringly good.

Pinalutong na Tilapia A different twist to the usual tilapia dish. I consider this tilapia chicaron.

Kare-kare I have always favored Kare-kare in all shapes and form. This reminds me of the Kare-kare from scatch my Mom used to make when I was very young, also with the homemade bagoong. Kare-kare is love.

For dessert::

Bibingka Casava I love the soft mild taste, a small portion feels very filling.

Puto Maya This is a unique dish, that reminds me of the sunflowers in the main entrance of UP Campus. The Mangos are a bit sour but it compliments the maja blanca and sesame seeds.

It was such a satisfying meal. I know my husband would love to dine there when he comes home for his yearly vacation.

Excellent Ensaladang bagnet (maybe a little bit more greens please), pancit luglug, and bibingka with queso de bola and itlog na pula. The kare-kare could be more seasoned, peanuty, and do 30 more minutes of stew to be a tad more tender. I didn't care for the fried tilapia too, with the weird, unidentified, white sauce.

I am so happy this place is so good and in my neighborhood! Just drive up Katipunan Extension going up to the Manila Water complex, then make a left into UP's Asian Center, where this branch of Via Mare is ensconced. It is upscale, airy, with banquette seats and sofa chairs with round tables for solo visitors. They've got wi-fi, so you can stay here and work, read, study - or hang out with friends amongst the UP academic regulars.

I've come here a number of times and regret not having done so earlier, because the staff is so polite and the food always on the mark.

Everything is good for at least for two people, like their meaty-flavored Monggo soup, which has small shrimp added in it. The fiddlehead fern Ensaladang Pako comes with tomatoes and salted egg, the dressing bright against the fern's young, tender crunchiness. Their Rellenong Talong is a special treat, made extra tasty with the flavor of tinapa. It is my favorite humble dish on their menu, together with Fresh Lumpia Ubod, which, thankfully, serves the peanut and grated garlic on the side.

I come here for the mega-calorific but delicious Guinataang Halo-Halo, which comes in purple-hued coconut milk, chewy sago, glutinous rice balls, cassava and sweet potato. It's increasingly hard to find this dessert, even on street food stalls.

This place won't let you down. This place is great for special occasions, and for making occasions special.
