I used to be a frequent customer of Go! Kizip and I have seen how their service went down hill. But with my recent visit there (just the other night), I was surprised with how much it has improved. Here are 10 reasons why I'm giving them a 5/5 rating.
1. They use to only have ala carte servings but to get head to head with all the Korean restos around Timog and Tomas Morato, they now have unlimited meat and shabu shabu. You have three options, 399 pesos for unli pork, 499 for unli pork, beef and chicken and then 599 for unli all meat with shabu shabu and cheese.
2. They have more flavors of meat than the competitors. Just for the pork alone, they have like 8 or more kinds. The beef and chicken have their own varieties too. So there's really a lot to choose from. And you have the option to add a shabu shabu which is not offered on other unlimited samgyupsals.
3. Aside from the unlimited meat and shabu shabu, the drinks (pineapple, iced tea or 4 seasons) and the rice are also unlimited. They also have a complete set of side dishes, steamed egg and soup (only japchae and bean sprouts were not served that time). Other restaurants have less sidings and you'll need to order rice and drinks separately.
4. They expanded, the place is now twice the size as they occupied the space leased at their left. This means more tables inside (on top of the tables placed outside the resto).
5. Go Kizip is one of the few that uses a smokeless grill. However, on the tables located at the expanded portion of the restaurant, you'll still see the classic styled metallic smoke pipes hanging from the ceiling.
6. They now have a working wifi.
7. There was improvement with the service time. The crew was also more attentive now with the customer's request compared to how it was before (but this maybe subjective with the number of customers present).
8. I noticed that the quality of meat improved and they are more fresh (again this can be subjective as many factors may affect this criterion).
9. Celebrities frequent this resto so it is a bonus if you see one.
10. They are open 24 hours and accepts credit card at the same time (which is a rare feature for a Korean Grill restaurant).
My recommendation is to go visit the resto at late night or early morning to avoid big crowds (11 PM to 3 AM). Also, avail the 499 unlimited pork, beef, chicken and cheese. I don't think it is 'sulit' to get the 699 (plus shabu shabu) since you'll only have a little space in your tummy for soup and meatballs which are heavy and can easily make you feel that you are full. Make sure to try the bulgogi beef and the chicken bbq. These are really tasty.
What can be improved?
1. The cheese was served at my last round of bulgogi beef. In fact, I wouldn't know that there was unlimited cheese if the waiter didn't asked me if I wanted a cheese refill (which I said I wasn't given cheese the first round). But it is just minor since the meat itself is already flavored.
2. The chicken was served in one big chunk. I was scared that there might still be bones. Later I was able to confirm that it was all chicken breasts. You'll just need to heat it for around 5 minutes then cut it using the big scissors. Still, it would have been nice if they served it in smaller portions (same with the pork which were served in big slabs) or had at least assisted with cutting the meat.
Again, this review is subjective as I've witnessed how the quality of service can change in a short span of time. But for now, let me give them a 5/5 rating for the big improvement that I was able to observe.
Since I moved to Manila, this restaurant is my most favorite Korean bbq place so far. Especially no long line waiting in front!! They have good quality meat here plus a lot of side dishes but sometime just a bit cold that’s why one star is missing. 599 for both unlimited grill pork and beef plus shabu-shabu, you can’t find any better deal like this in Manila 👍🏻👍🏻

One of the first Korean BBQ places I tried a few years ago. This became a go-to place for me and my mom since they have an outdoor area that allows pet dogs. I like their sides and I think they have excellent kimchi jjigae (the spicy red soup). Recently they offered unlimited pork and beef for 500. We preferred the beef over pork and they were okay with us ordering just the beef. Oh and the iced tea is also free with the unli kbbq! Another pro about this place is that it’s open until late hours.
