Tony’s Grill has been around the Tandang Sora-Mindanao Avenue area in Quezon City for close to two decades. With a wide parking lot and plenty of space, it a great place for celebrating with friends and special occasions. And for a reasonable price that won’t break the bank (that's what the extra point goes)! Here are some of their good dishes:
Nasi Goreng P195
This rich-tasting Indonesian noodle dish is a great, great buy at the price. This easily feeds 3 people and it’s complete with the toppings and a huge shrimp!
Fish Fillet in Vermicelli
A new dish, this is a great, mildly seasoned fish in rice noodles. It’s a lovely and subtle dish, perfect for those watching their salt intake. Before we knew it, our team had scraped the serving plate clean!
Mixed Seafood in Buco Shell P295
A very surprising seafood curry dish, the buco provides a counterbalance to the rich curry flavors of the dish, rounding it to a milder and creamier taste.
Sizzling Sisig Original P180
A house pulutan and main dish staple, Tony’s version is crispy with a hint of heat and sweetness slightly rising above the porky, salty flavors. Interesting and really better with lots of rice or beer.
Tilapia Fillet with Honey Mustard P250
Tilapia is normally a very bland but meaty fish. Fried crispy into fillets, the honey mustard dip is a nice twist.
Sinuglaw P270
Tony’s version of a ceviche, very tartly made but I suspect quite great paired with an ice-cold beer.
Grilled Blue Marlin Belly P125/100g
Tender and tasty on its own though some may find it bland.
Baked Oyster P235
A good dish - fresh, juicy oysters topped with ooey gooey cheese and some garlic bits make for a good appetizer and pulutan.
Gambas al Ajillo P275
Interestingly served in a fried potato string basket, this is a pretty and tasty dish to look at. I liked that it wasn’t too spicy and inundated with tomato sauce so that the shrimps’ natural sweetness shone through.
Crispy Pata P500
This is a classic - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce is a nice soy-vinegar that balances the flavors. And attention shoppers! For a limited time, grab your Tony’s Crispy Pata to go for only P395!
Thai Style Tapioca P95
This ginataan-like dish is interesting and not too sweet.
Mango Oatmeal Crumble P100
Unfortunately, the only thing I can try out in this dessert is the oatmeal-cracker crust and I could only look at my sister happily eating away the cream and mango. (Darned allergies!). But this is an interestingly tasty crust and Tony’s version of the refrigerator cake is a nice cap to a lovely meal.
I also discovered during this visit that Tony’s have several function rooms for rent with reasonable meal prices can go for as low as P350 per head. That’s nearly impossible to find in the metro. They have rooms for groups of 30 to 50, 100 and up to 200 people. There is really no reason to break the bank for good food at Tony’s.
Team kaladkarin invite! Tony’s Bar and Grille is apparently not the same with the Tony’s at Tomas Morato. We were actually invited to try the new dish and their all time recommended dishes.
📌😍 Nasi Goreng @195PhP
This one, i am already familiar with, previously me and my office mates tried this already. This is truly good, swerving is a lot for just less than 200! The mix is filling.
📌😍 Fish Fillet in Vermicelli *NEW
I love their new dish, cream dory in glass noodles drenched in a garlicky sauce? (I couldn’t actually call it sauce 😅)
📌😍 Mixed Seafood in Buco Shell (Seafood Curry) @295PhP
I like the presentation, but we had a difficulty eating it. My tip is you get an extra bowl and place all the seafood in it. There were shrimps, squid, fish, and crabs all good to pair with the curry sauce. My tip is you get those coconut meat off its shell, curry and coconut makes it more creamy.
📌😍 Sizzling Sisig Original @180PhP
Love this super crunchy sisig. It got a sweet taste, which what made me love the dish.
📌😍 Tilapia Fillet with Honey Mastard @255PhP
This one was a surprise to me. I always love fried crispy tilipia (butterflied)—especially when pairing it with beer, and the honey mustard dip was such a great addition to its taste.
📌 Sinuglaw @270PhP
If you like ceviche, then, you’ll gonna love this as well. Sinuglaw is a mix of pork and fish ceviche, this one is relatively sour and spicy.
📌😍 Grilled Blue Marlin Belly @125PhP/100gr
Some bloggers defined the marlin to be bland, but for me, i like it. It’s because if you’re gonna pair it with drinks, then this is good enough. No need for extra tasty. Given that this marlin is already boneless and super tender! (Note tuna is tougher)
📌 Baked Oyster @235PhP
I think i have tasted better oysters, but i find this okay.
📌 Gambas al Ajillo @275PhP
What’s here are spicy gambas over fried shoestring potatoes, the thing is the potatoes stood out more than the gambas. 😅
And i like the shrimp served in the nasi goreng and seafood curry.
📌 Crispy Pata @500++PhP
Promo alert! Grab this crispy pata to go for only 395PhP!!
📌 Thai Style Tapioca @95PhP
This is like ginataan.
📌😍 Mango Oatmeal Crumble @100PhP
I like the mango ref cake taste palette blended with oats! For those who like ref cakes, try this one!
Tony’s also got party packages, if you need a place good for 100? 200? or even 300 pax, try it here!! Their assisted buffet per pax starts as low as 350PhP!
Good for parties indeed, because they got a huge side yard for parking.
A place where affordable means delicious. Situated with the North lies Tony's Bar and Grill, a well-known go-to restaurant fitting for families or couples who crave for Filipino cuisine that's good for more than two.
Their Fish Fillet in Vermicelli was light and refreshing on the palate. Definitely a good dish to order for starters.
The Baked Oyster is definitely synonymous anywhere to delicious, yum, and I'll have seconds! A must for those looking for seafood.
Now, to those who aren't on a diet or just love how pork blends with everyday life, their Crispy Pata is definitely your bang for the buck. They have an ongoing promo that prices it at Php 395 from Php 550 till further notice. A best pair for this is the Nasi Goreng that's topped with beef and shrimp for only P195! A total steal for those who come in big groups. If that's not enough, their Sizzling Sisig Original is a staple order for the locals who often come here.
Worth mentioning is their Tilapia Fillet in Honey Mustard. It's just a magical blend of fish and their special sauce that keeps you in awe as to how they merged such flavors. Definitely something you should order.
The Sinuglaw, Grilled Blue Marlin, and Gambas Al Ajillo are all perfect beer mates for you to chug down with beer. An uncommon sight would be the Mixed Seafood in Buko Shell that's a totally unique experience both in presentation and flavor.
And after all that hearty feast, you'd want to sink your palate into their Thai Style Tapioca that's a must for a light and sweet jolt for a choice of dessert. Mango Oatmeal Crumble takes the slice for best light and crumbly dessert that you'd have a hard time sharing. It is just so good.
Tony's Bar and Grill has been around for a long time and yet it still continues to innovate and amplify current dishes that they offer. It's a great place to enjoy events--since they do have several function rooms you could choose from--a great place to dine, and a place worth going to if you're in a budget and around the area.
