You can't get more visceral than Mang Larry's Isawan, and that's a good thing. What sets his isaw baboy apart from the rest is its minimalist approach. The vinegar-based sauces are just mild enough to bring out the charred, umami goodness of each stick. That said, Mang Larry's is less about the sawsawan, and more about the isaw itself (duh), and it's something as a Cebuano I can relate to (Cebu lechon can stand on its own without the sarsa, unlike its Manila counterparts). So, yes, I never fail to drop by Mang Larry's whenever I visit UP Diliman. :)

21 or 22 years back and still going strong, pinipilahan pa din hanggan ngayon.
My UPD experience would not have been complete without Mang Larry's isaw! Former Kalai dormer here (2003).
Brings back memories of his Kalayaan days.
Mura na masarap pa. Panalo! Thanks, Mang Lary! God Bless you more!
Craving for some isaw, Mang Larry's is the first thing that comes to our mind. Been here only once because we needed a lot of spare time to visit the place because of the waiting line. We're not informed na lumipat na pala ng place. We searched here at zomato and on maps, dun pa rin sa parking area na closed na yung tinuturo na place na malapit sa law building ba yun? Ibang isawan tuloy nakainan namin.
I’m not really a fan of isaw but my friend brought me here so i gave it a chance. It was okay. It tasted clean and the price is what you would expect of a normal isawan. They didn’t take advantage of the hype which is nice.
Mang Larry’s has become a household name and one proof of that is whenever I visit UP Diliman with my friends, it’s impossible for us not to drop by.
It has definitely grown from its original stall near the Sunken Garden, but the quality of their food is still as good as ever, if not better.
Their isaw baboy, isaw manok, and tenga are my favorites, but they’ve now expaned their menu to include other street food such as cheese sticks, fish balls, squid balls, siomai, hotdog, and even instant pancit canton. To add to that, their new branch near Bahay ng Alumni is now offering rice meals to go with the usual inihaw options, along with their grilled fish and squid.
What makes the experience more memorable is the outdoor ambiance so don’t expect a proper sit-down setup.
It took awhile for us to figure out that Mang Larry's was near the Bahay ng Alumni.
There were tables and chairs for people to hang out in. Although it was quite muddy when went there. There was even a small window to pick up your order. A far cry from their small humble stall near the catholic church.
Always a fun place to eat the best isaw 😍
Mang Larry now has his own space with tables and chairs. It's near the Bahay ng Alumni, and its a lot better than his old spot.
We had the pork and chicken isaw. I think their marinade even improved and their bbq meats were even cleaner and addicting than before.
They now serve pancit canton, dynamite, and even fruit shakes.
Worth the drive. If you love isaw and other bbq delicacies this is the place to be. Very affortable rates and the taste is good. Though there is road construction in the area and very hard to look for parking slot.
Favorite ihawan and isawan place! If I'm craving for barbeque and isaw, I'll definitely go here. Savory barbeques + sawsawan na matamis or suka = PERFECT!
They now have fruit shakes, milk teas, fishballs, squidballs, chickenballs, calamares, dinamites, etc!
Try this ihawan x isawan place! For sure babalik balikan niyo at hahanap hanapin niyo ang lasa
A visit at UPD is deemed futile if you don’t swing by Mang Larry’s Isawan! CMA had to run errands last Wednesday at UPD and I decided to introduce him to Mang Larry. I find it a lil odd that he doesn’t have an inkling who Mang Larry is. Anyway, y’all know that isaw is my all-time-favorite street food, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if I say that I bought a crap ton of them.
I felt a sudden rush of nostalgia when I saw the familiar stall. I used to frequent UPD back in the day (UP Fair and other stuff I made up so I can watch the stars at Sunken Garden). Bought a total of 30 skewers (15 for chicken intestine and 15 of pork intestine). No, I didn’t eat it all (I brought some at home just in case I felt a sudden pang of isaw craving). And yes, I loved every single bite. This is best eaten dipped in vinegar and washed down in soda. This is not healthy, but I don’t care.
You have been hearing Mang Larry's name being whispered accross the land... joke
ISAW! No introduction needed - this place is legendlarry, oops! I mean legendary!
One of the best isaw I've tasted. Flavorful and affordable isaw available here. Do try out their botsi! It's the best. 😀 Plus it's always fun to hang-out with friends in isawans where you talk about everything while devouring sticks of isaw!
When my friends and I need inspiration, fresh ideas and energy, we head over to Mang Larry’s Isawan. Everyone knows how difficult and stressful thesis can be especially if you have other projects to finish like a short film. We were running out of energy and money that is why we were always in the University of the Philippines campus.
Here's our first batch of awesome isaw on a stormy night. Super worth the soaking our shoes. Plus the avocado shake even though its cold enough

The most raved about isaw! It's P5/each, small serving, tastes okay but their sauce is the bomb! They actually have seats by the store but you have make sure to clean as you go. There's also a dirty ice cream beside Mang Larry's which serves legit Avocado ice cream! Retails for P30 (sugar cone) and P20 (wafer cone).
Hindi kumpleto foodtrip sa UP pag wala nito.. 😊 👍🏻👌🏻 But they're already moving out from UP and transferring in Congressional (I think.. But, I'm not quite sure). Anyway, their isaw and sauce is really good. Must try!! 👍🏻

Mang larry's isawan is an institution, especially when you're from QC or UPD. People brave the long lines and heat just for the isaw.
Sobrang sarap ng isaw with the sweet sauce or spicy suka!
