You can't get more visceral than Mang Larry's Isawan, and that's a good thing. What sets his isaw baboy apart from the rest is its minimalist approach. The vinegar-based sauces are just mild enough to bring out the charred, umami goodness of each stick. That said, Mang Larry's is less about the sawsawan, and more about the isaw itself (duh), and it's something as a Cebuano I can relate to (Cebu lechon can stand on its own without the sarsa, unlike its Manila counterparts). So, yes, I never fail to drop by Mang Larry's whenever I visit UP Diliman. :)

21 or 22 years back and still going strong, pinipilahan pa din hanggan ngayon.
