Get the fried rice option on your tempura set. So delicious! We ordered the Samurai Set so we got a good variety of different tempuras to try. The ingridients wherefresh and firm a necessity to make good tempura. Also try their spicy tuna salad! I would definitely come back and recommend it!
Very fast service. Food was tasty. But a little expensive for the portion.
Have read positive reviews about this place. Happy to say that the reviews were true! We arrived at around 2pm, and so we were able to get in without waiting. The servers were accommodating and courteous. The food, ofcourse, were great! Not only did we enjoy their tempura dishes, but also fell in love with their Gyoza and Gyudon. I can't wait to come back and try more.
When my family and I went to Tokyo, I made sure that we dine at Aoi Marushin. Their tempura offers were so extensive that they even have a take-out counter just dedicated for that. It forever made an imprint on me that I wondered, is there something like it here in the Philippines? Enter Asakusa with the claim of being the “home of Tempura”. Do they live up to that claim?
Happy with my first Asakusa experience! Tried their Samurai Tempura Set and it is worth it! You get the best of seafood and veggies. I love the simplicity of the food ❤️
I love it here! The staff are generous and polite while the food was not that heavy for the tummy. The way that you can customize your tempura platter is what tops this out of the other tempura restaurants I've eaten at because the dishes are properly cooked and I enjoyed every bite.
Overall, it was a very satisfying experience and I will definitely come back here.
Very good food with attentive service! Been to a lot if tempura places but they certainly have the biggest tempura tiger prawn! Place was not packed on a Saturday and the food was paired well with their calrose rice
This is one of our favorite go to place for dining at Ayala Malls Vertis. We love their Tempura sets as you get to taste most of what they offer at an affordable price.
I also have to commend their Udon, taste just right and not too heavy, that you can still push to eat some tempura on the side.
I like the crunchiness feels when I eat the tempura. For the batter, it's not oily and also quiet light too. This one is 👌🏻 for me.
You may opt to order two tempura sets, choose one rice and another one is Udon (this is what we did), and I ordered extra rice. We split the Udon so we can both try it.
Service is okay. They were easy to get the attention, they were approachable. I like the way they'll give you a receipt-like paper which includes the list of what you ordered so you have a reference as well.
I ordered their Chocolate Valrhona with Green Tea Iced Cream (P158.00) - it's a big scoop of ice cream. I like how it's not that bitter and the Chocolate Valrhona gave texture and added flavor to this satisfying dessert.
I also tried the Prawn Cream Udon (P288.00) - their version of Japanese creamy wafu pasta. Udon noodles with prawn cream with mushrooms, fish flakes, and poached eggs. It was too creamy (or saucy) after mixing the egg (to the point that you'll need a spoon to get the sauces). It's kinda new to me eating thick/chewy noodles (udon) for a pasta-like food.
If you love tempura, then there is no question that you have to try this place since it is their specialty! The food is a little pricey compared to other Japanese restaurants but for me, it was worth it. (You could also order the tempura by piece if you are just curious about the taste)
During our visit, the service was snappy and the crew were very polite and very accommodating.
If you have the budget, give it a shot and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Cheers!

This is my favorite place for tempura! Just the right amount of batter and their special sauce makes it really good. I either get one of two sets, Emperor or Shogun. The sets even come with rice/soba plus a drink. Their rolls, gyoza, and rice bowls are also good.
I had a great time here. It's also pretty neat that you can customize your tempura but I went for one of their set tempura meals. I had their shogun set which consisted of 5 tiger prawns and I also ordered their red miso soup. The red miso soup was great. It wasn't too salty and I was pretty happy that it had a lot of tofu and sea weed in it. The tempura piecez were pretty big and long too. I love how the batter is thin and it's not all better. You get a nice amount of shrimp. The service is also great. I got my food fast and when I asked for the bill they immediately gave it to me. I would definitely come back for the great food and amazing service. 🤗🤗
