My parents are picky eaters and when they like a particular restaurant it only means that the food is very good. We had the pochero with thick tomato based broth and with just the right amount of tender meat and crisp veggies. I can tell this one cooked over low heat for a long time. The stuffed laing is to die for...filled with ground pork and cooked in creamy coconut cream with just the right amount of heat. The poqui poqui rolls were crispy abd when you bite into it savory soft yung eggplant which is best dipped in the sweet chili sauce..Foodwise I give you 4 1/2 stars out of 5 and service wise I give you a 6 out of 5. I have never been in a restaurant where you are treated not just as a client but as a VIP.F rom the valet parking and the guards usher you into the place with umbrellas and all the staff and waiters are so gracious and attentive. And that earns them as the best place for Pinoy food at an affordable price. Will definitely be back...
Limbaga 77 is my new favorite restaurant! Staff are attentive. Free valet service. So pretty place. The food loves me kaya I love them too. Bitin lang ako sa dessert. It will be the ultimate Tita restaurant once it perfects its dessert menu. With tea please!
Love this place! Love the food! And staffs are so nice.. this place gives us so much to remember at our ancestral house.. the stairs, the old TV upstairs, the floors, chairs and much more.. favorite place to dine with my family!
Good To Celebrate my Birthday at Limbaga77 Cafe,it was our first time but its worth it...The Food was so Masarap,The Kare-Kare and Bulalo,The Best....I'll keeo coming back and will recommend it to my friends....🤗👍
The service is great! Very service-oriented people. You'll just feel the warm and care in the way they served the customers. Second, I notice the place is so clean like you can smell and touch any part of it so squeky clean. The restroom is like that of executive lounge in 5 start hotels. The food is superb! No msg, no extenders! Booth to the max! I love that I can have a peak view of how they prepare the food because it was seen in transparent glasses. I thank our co-worker who recommend the place. I couldnt ask for more!!
Great Place and Extremely Delicious Food
This place is awesome. Foods were generously served, Yummy kare kare! The other foods don't fail to impress the taste buds. The ambiance is very calm and conducive to eating. The service is also great.
Had the best surprise baby shower here!!! So accommodating to all my guests and served the best buffet spread! Will go back for more life events!
The unbelievable accommodation and service of Limbaga 77 and it's awesome crew made our first-born's Christening extra special! Very homey ambiance, great service, and delicious & generous food very much appreciated by guests. Sulit na sulit ang bayad, no second thoughts on the additional charge for the extra room provided. Six thumbs up from our baby, mommy and me!

Great place and delicious food service very good, thumb's up Limbaga 77
We held our meeting last night. Great services the waiter are very accomodating.kudos to them. The place is great also. Love it!
Yummy Filipino food! Chill, relaxed ambiance. Great place to have dinner and catch up with friends / family. Ordered beef salpicao, pork sisig, and bicol express! They gave us complimentary dessert because of a minor incident. Loved how they handled the situation, kudos to the staff :) Will definitely come back and use my zomato gold here.
Ganda ng ambiance. yung mga server ganda ng uniform bukod don ok din ang service tas ang sarap ng food ❤
Their stuffed laing is outstanding! One of the restos that serves real food in Tomas Morato area.
Limbaga 77, Tomas Morato
🇵🇭
Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Price: PHP 500 per person (has Zomato Gold 1+1, with no restrictions!)
Parking: Free valet parking, a rarity in Tomas Morato
What I love:
❤️ Limbaga 77 Baked Paksiw: so tender and flavorful! Was worried that it might be too fatty, but it was 👌
❤️ Limbaga 77 Stuffed Laing: Clearly, the dishes with Limbaga 77 deserves to be recommended. This was SUPER GOOD (but a tad sweet). Serving size is kinda small though
❤️ Chicken Binakol Soup: This was very flavorful. Personally though, I thought kulang ang buko. Ombu Kusina's soup has so much more in it!
Meh, pass:
🙅♀️ Kare kare: Flavor was bland. Bagoong was good, and the beef was tender though
🙅♀️ Binusog na pusit: The squid was gummy...
Staff and manager did not agree when to take Zomato. Staff cannot explain what pares is.
Try the seafood chop suey and beef kaldereta. They were awesome.
Being away from home for a month made me miss our local cuisine tenfold. Just thinking about how a single whiff of sinigang would make me drool drives me crazy. And it was an easy decision for us to pick Limbaga 77 for dinner after a long trip abroad.
Hello, Limbaga 77.
Limbaga 77 is a homey Filipino restaurant tucked inside the semi-residential area of Tomas Morato. It has been one of the highly rated restaurants in the area by Zomato users and it definitely made me excited to try some of its bestsellers.
Nothing but great experience at Limbaga 77! Great food in good ambience!
Rare moments that we get to eat around Timog Area and thank you Google we were able to find this nice place. 4+ rating so we were also curious and thankfully it didn’t disappoint. Not really into sweet tasting ulam so I didn’t like the Pochero. The Pampano and Pancit Bihon were sooooooo good! I loved it! ❤️
For Sunday brunch last weekend, my family and I ordered:
Stuffed laing
- This is really a wow! Serving is pretty small but the flavours packed into it will really go a long way (especially drizzled over rice) Unlike other laing dishes, the coconut milk taste does not overpower the dish, nor did it become too salty. Def my top 1 dish here
Limbaga 77 Baked Lechon Paksiw
- For someone who’s really fond of the crunchy lechon balat, I was pleasantly surprised by this dish. The pork was soooo tender, but the fat was solid enough to hold its shape and give a bit of a chew, which is a good thing. Even though it’s only comprised of 3-4 slices, this dish is for sharing because the slices are thickkk
Sweet and Sour Fish
- I’m a really big fan of sweet and sour dishes so this was a bit of a comfort dish for me. The Filipino counterpart of sweet and sour is escabeche and it tastes like that, with the additional surprise of sili added in the sauce, giving the dish a kick of spice. The fish was big and crisp, the perfect contrast to the sauce
Quezo de Bola Cheesecake
- This was really yum too!! The cheesecake itself is not too sweet, and it’s not heavy on the palate at all! The caramel sauce at the bottom enhances the whole taste profile as well. The cake is 4 inches so it’s really for sharing
Overall, Limbaga 77 is a good place to bring your family to (especially since it has Zomato Gold 👀👀) Ambiance and service also A+
It's been five months since I went out of the country to work overseas and I was craving for Filipino food, I loved their sisig and bicol express.
My friend treated me to Limbaga 77. I wasn't expecting anything but the Zomato rating was high, so I figured food will be good.
And I wasn't wrong about that. We ordered crispy pata and laing and both surpassed expectations. The laing was perfectly seasoned. It was the right amount of sweet, salty, sour, and spicy.
The crispy pata was huge and did not disappoint. Skin was really crispy and the fat and meat savory.
The grass citrus drink tasted weird at first, but magically turned refreshing after a few more sips.
The ambience is great. Like many other restaurants in the Tomas Morato area, Limbaga 77 looks like a renovated old house. Very homey and a great place to chat with friends.
We ordered tanigue steak (not in the photo cause we're excited to eat na hehe) and bulalo. We love the everything from your food, ambiance and staff. Keep it up. We'll definitely come back 😊
I’ve tried eating here once. Forgot to take photos but their food is really good! The place is very homey since it’s a house that’s converted to a restaurant. I think it’s a great place to celebrate occasions and have get togethers in. Definitely recommend!
Great food and dessert. We ordered Prawns in Garlic Sauce, Beef Pochero, Halaan and Maja Brulee. "Sana lang yung laman ng Halaan malalaki. Sobrang liit ng laman."
Food was great. Really yummy. -1 star for the service though it started out good but after a while when more guests started pouring in the waiters were in so much hurry I felt that they were almost just dropping the food on our tables. They seemed understaffed. They were always in such a hurry.
A homey Filipino restaurant you can go to with your family. We ordered Kare Kare, Tanigue Steak, Nilasing na Hipon and Crablets, and Binusog na Pusit. Nothing too special about the dishes. I enjoyed the nilasing na hipon most. We also ordered Maja Brûlée and Perlas ng Mangga for dessert. The Maja itself was nice but the Brûlée made it too sweet. The Perlas ng Mangga was a very thick creamy dessert, not too sweet so it was good.
A great piece to enjoy quality time with your family and loved ones while munching on great food at the same time. It's like eating at home because of their homy ambience.
The place is so cozy with a very peaceful vibe. The food is definitely worrh it with affordable price. All their staffs are very accommodating who always wear a smile.
Great food, affordable, good ambiance, friendly staff. Loved their desserts. Nice resto for families and friends. Went there on a weekday dinner, opened at 6pm. Food orders were served fast.
Good place for family. We had our Mother’s Day celebration here with the kids and they are kid friendly and considerate as to where we want to be seated. Food is good for the price and servers were polite and always smiling. We love our desserts. ❤️
I'm never a fan of Kare-kare but the Boyfie is crazy about it. Since it was his birthday, no better way to spoil him than to have Karekare. I found this place and I really didn't expect to fall inlove with their Karekare. It's definitely the best I've ever tasted. 5 ⭐️
It's our second time to dine here and I'm still impressed. They have great Filipino offerings like binusog na pusit, chopsuey, and adobo. I find their liempo too fatty, good thing its marinade saved the day. Service and ambiance are also remarkable.
I can see this restaurant being a staple for Filipino cravings.
Ambiance and service are both more than good. Most dishes I’ve tried here are flavorful (beef salpicao, munggo soup, pork hamonado, chopsuey, inihaw na liempo, etc.) Exception is the chicken and pork adobo which is a tad too sweet for me and the binusog na pusit which tastes a little too ordinary. The quezo de bola cheesecake deserves a thumbs-up! Not too sweet, texture’s just right, and ultimately cheesy.
Nice food and ambience!!!
Definitely we will back.
Staff are very accomodating and courteous
Quite and solemn place
I will recommend this to all my friends.
Finally I was able to try after several failed attempts. I was also able to use the 1+1 food 👏👏. We had the Limbaga salad that waiter said used bagoong as dressing. No hint of bagoong at all! It waa bit too sweet for me. We had the pinatabang pusit, stuffed squash flowers and lumpia. All were yummy but the sauce for each dish was a bit bland. The lumpia sauce bitin sa garlic. The suka for the pusit lacked the kick. Could not figure out the taste of the sauce for the squash. I love sauces but the dish itself was good already.
Their lechon kawali/bagnet is tender and crispy at the same time. Their beef salpicao tastes good too. Waiters at limbaga 77 are friendly and attentive.
Great place to get your Filipino food-fix. Their kare-kare is a definite must-try as well as their grilled squid. Each dish is good for about 3 people with normal to heavy portions. We had a mixed experience when it came to the staff with one being cold towards the group while the others were really helpful. Would still recommend this place and come back for sure.
The food was great and beyond expected! We always loved our home cooked pochero but theirs was just amazing! We will definitely go back here!
Place is nice and seats are more comfy compared to my 1st visit.
Servers are attentive.
Food.. is good.
Crablets and Nilasing na Hipon - just ok
Stuffed laing - delicious
Pork sisig - not the best in the city
Halaan soup - highly recommended. Very tasty!
Quezo de Bola cheesecake - this one is good too.
Coffee is good and strong.
A highly recommended place for Filipino foods. They serve super yummy foods. 4 flavour wings is my most favorite dish.
Love the ambience of the restaurant also.
Initially, we were supposed to have an intimate get-together of 5 until eventually we were a big group of 12! The search for a restaurant that could accomodate us all led us to Limbaga 77.
Food was quite expensive so we had to really pick dishes that everyone would like. Those that have made the list include Beef Salpicao, Buffalo Wings, Sinigang na Salmon, Limbaga 77 Stuffed Laing, Traditional Esalada, Limbaga 77 Baked Lechon Paksiw, Crispy Bagnet, and Binusog na Pusit. Whew.
I don’t want to get into the nitty-gritty of each dish since there are a lot but my ratings for all our orders range from “just okay” to “delicious”. But, out of all, the most notable dishes for me were their Beef Salpicao and Buffalo Wings.
The service could be a bit snappy but in general, definitely no disappointments here in Limbaga 77.
Ordered Bagnet and Pochero. Bagnet was super good. Pochero was also good. When you’re craving for Filipino comfort food. Limbaga 77 Cafe is the place to go. Service is excellent as well. Will definitely comeback here. Oh, price is not that expensive din. Super sulit with Zomato Gold
We’ve celebrated Valentine’s day here. Have read reviews and was excited to try. This resto really serves good food! Homey ambiance. Fast service. Staffs are commendable - all were attentive and accomodating. We ordered baby back ribs, pork sisig, chicken and pork adobo, (4) garlic rice and (1) plain rice = total billP1,531.54 including service charge. 📍They also have FREE Valet parking 😊 Will come back to try other dishes!
Food was great! Ordered the following dishes in the pictures😂. Spaghetti was more on the sweet side, much sweeter than Amber’s Spag. Sinigang ng Salmon was good, I liked it a lot because there was a lot of broth included. Pork Sisig and Sizzling Squid was okay but they were not that different. The bottom line is that it was good but it was not that unique compared to other Filipino restaurants in Tomas Morato. The only exceptional thing was that the service was really excellent considering we were a group of 12 persons.
Lengua caldereta is superb! I can taste the fresh tomatoes stewed for hours for every bite of my ever-tender meat. Stuffed laing is even close to the pinangat served in Albay, Bicol. Surely worth a 2nd visit!
I avoided going to this restaurant for some time. Someone told me the food was so-so. And considering there are hundreds of choices for a Filipino restaurant in Tomas Morato area, my friend said money can be spent better somewhere else.
She was wrong.
Another friend brought me along to Limbaga 77 and I found out that the food is really good. Been to this resto twice since then.
The Binagoonan Chicken was new to me. And I liked it! It’s my favorite dish there. But steamed Pompano fish, Pork Hamonado and Bicol Express were delicious too. I believe the Bicol Express though may not be the traditional classic dish originally done by Bicolanos. Nevermind, I still liked it.
The place itself represents the character and personality of Tomas Morato area. It appears to be a former old two-storey house—maybe 60s or 70s style—converted to a somber stylish interior. At night, I can imagine people hanging out for dinner then drinks. But it’s open until 10pm only during weekends.
Desserts are mostly Filipino sweets. I would have wanted them to have more choices for dessert though. Coffee is your regular brewed.
Considering that servings are good for 2 or 3 people, prices can be considered fair.
Wifi: forgot to ask
Smoking area: yes and it’s a big area with comfortable chairs and table where you can have your coffee or drinks.
Our friend recommended this restaurant. Ambience is nice and the staffs were very accommodating. Food was great though a bit pricey. I’ll recommend their spicy seafood adobo for seafood lovers out there! Will definitely go back.
My family and I had lunch here last Sunday for my papa’s birthday celebration. I made a reservation through the Zomato app and it was very hassle free when we arrived in the restaurant. You also do not need to worry about your car because they have free parking and valet service! The food was good and a bit pricey but they have large servings so it was a win. We enjoyed our lunch here and the ambiance was very homey and quiet. I will definitely come back here! 😊
Highly recommeded! The pochero is the best i’ve tasted!!! The laing should be one of their better best sellers but it’s just okay. Overall, This is one of the best Filipino food restaurants I’ve been to.
The always excites the senses especially the taste. We had an awesome experience. We will definitely come back to try other entrees in the menu.
Love love love their kaldereta, binusog na pusit, four-flavored wings and danggit rice.
Their staff are polite.
Plus, their restroom is clean. So that's a plus for me :)
Only our 2nd time eating here but still the food didn’t disappoint us just like our first time!
The food we ordered were Pork Belly Lechon paksiw, seafood adobo and chop seuy with seafood.
The only downside was when I tried to book through Zomato around 9PM they rejected the booking. However, when I tried calling they were accomodating and even cooked our food in advance while we were on our way.
A must try family restaurant indeed!
“A sumptuous feast.” The Stuffed Laing, Spicy Seafood Adobo, Limbaga 77 Salad and Poqui-Poqui rolls are the BEST!
Grass Citrus Iced Tea is so sweet and taste like sago gulaman with ginger. 😆
Me and my family were thinking of having a good lunch outside and this resto came to my mind since this is part of my bucket list. My family love the food we ordered. Staffs were courteous and accommodating and the place were nice and clean. Will definitely go back here.
This is the first time for me and my family to experience dining at Limbaga 77 Cafe and Restaurant. Really nice old house turned into a dining destination. Enjoyed their food and really great ambience. Thank you Zomato Gold for giving beef kaldereta for free!
Ambiane is homey - super cold inside the resto. Food was delicious but not a big serving and a bit pricey. Overall it was good experience.
Food 4/5
Service 5/5
Ambiane 4/5
Value for Money 3/5
Overall 4/5
Okay..
5 STARS because of SUPERB service! The crew last Monday, October 28, 2018 - was super attentive and very friendly, and very kind, sad because I didn’t get their names, sana na-mention ko here.
Also a PLUS is the Valet Parking, we were in a hurry kaya we chose a place that has a sure parking.
The food naman, we ordered CRISPY BAGNET, BINUSOG NA PUSIT, KALDERETA and for dessert, we got QUESO DE BOLA CHEESECAKE: Food was okay, like there’s nothing about it na you’ll be coming back soon - taste was really okay, not bad but not great - it was just okay.
The price, not bad. We were expecting it to be mahal.
Will come back lang talaga if I wanted to experience a GREAT SERVICE again, teehee.
To last October 28, 2018 lunch crew, THANK YOU!
I like the food and how it was prepared. Generous serving and affordable price. The only reason why i did not give it a 5 was because menu does not have dessert. I have a sweet tooth so it was important to me. Overall, i will recommend this restau 👍
Well its great choice for us to had dine here tonight, we ordered stuffed bulaklak ng kalabasa, pochero, lechon kawali. Maja brulee, manggo sago, lychee grape shake and minty manggo watermelon shake. Well all the food tasted great plus the danggit rice is also great. Place had a nice and homey interior which you feel like dinning at home. We will surely be back again soon. Want to try their other dishes...
The place is big. They have parking spaces and smoking areas. Ambience (inside) is homey, it is cool inside despite the hot weather that noontime. Service is excellent. Servers are easy to get the attention. The guard outside will help you where to park.
Among the dishes that we tried, my favorites were:
Stuffed bulaklak ng Kalabasa - obviously a good starter! It has a crispy coating. Try to slice, the cheese will ooze. They have a sweet and spicy dip but it's okay even without the dip.
Prawns in Garlic Sauce - reminds me of gambas but this one is not spicy and it has a garlicky taste. Love it!
Adobong Tadyang ng Baka - the beef was tender and the meat was nourished by the sauce. It was flavorful!
Danggit Rice - is a saltier but tastier fried rice. It's topped with Danggit.
Kaldereta - the tomatoish flavor of the sauce was dominant. As usual, the beef was tender. The carrots and potatoes were easy to eat.
Few comments on some of the dishes we tasted:
Crispy Pata - it was crispy and tender! The taste is mild and you'll be needing the dip to make it tasty.
Kare-kare - I like kare-kare but it seems I tasted/smelled something sour unless it's the way it is.
Pancit Bihon - has generous toppings, especially the squids.
Sisig - was just okay and the taste didn't disappoint.
I love Filipino food and it's good to know that Limbaga77, if it's not the best, is one of the restaurants you should visit in Tomas Morato.
Pretty charming restaurant. The food was amazing! I go here with my workmates for lunch and it seems like we don’t run out of choices. Will definitely come back.
It was obviously a house converted into a restaurant.
But there lies its charm. One immediately feels the warmth of welcome from the place. It felt like I was visiting my grandparents or some relative's home...
Our group's march to Limbaga 77 wasn't a planned one. In fact, it wasn't the original choice for lunch since the first one was still closed (still closed for lunch?). I guess it wasn't a bad option. Not at all.
While entering the restaurant, I was trying to recall if I was attended an event here in Limabaga 77. All I can remember was that I was invited by Zomato to attend a meet-up which sadly, I wasn't able to.
Anyway, the restaurant greeted us (Zomato bloggers) with a bright, sunshiny and maaliwalas feel though not everyone in the staff (mostly men) were glad to see us. I mean, some of the servers gave this snooty attitude (again, not all). I clearly remember this server who never smiled (a smirk will do, Mr. Server) and his only mode of communication was shaking and nodding of his head. I think he THINKS that he's working in a 5 star hotel. But even then, no server should be acting like that. Never.
The food. I fell in love with the Stuffed Bulaklak ng Kalabasa. The Grilled Tuna came in next in the list, which has none of the fishy taste. And the Adobong Tadyang, unforgettably fall-off-the-bone. The Crispy Pata and the Kaldereta, I didn't much enjoy. The Kaldereta was a tad leathery (alright, alright tough!) and the Crispy Pata? It was just Crispy Pata, nothing more. Nothing about them make them special, nothing that made them stand out. Another characterless dish was the Pancit Bihon which was on the dining table waiting for any form of action which never came. In short, no one bothered. Oh... I loved the Minty Watermelon. Not too sweet, just right.
My Limabaga 77 experience was good, not great, but good one. Good enough to come back for another round of Bulaklak ng Kalabasa, Grilled Tuna to be washed down by the Minty Watermelon drink.
September 10, 2018 Unexpected(?) Lunch - There seem to be a number of restaurants closed during lunch in the vicinity of this restaurant. We have looked at 2 others before and called this one to make sure it is open before going here. Bulaklak ng Kalabasa (227), Pancit Bihon (277), Beef; Kare-Kare(577), Adobo Tadyang (377), Chicken & Pork Adobo (277), Crispy Pata (577), Grilled Tuna (477). I also had Lychee Grape shake (177) & Coffee plus tasted the Minty Mango Watermelon (177)
Quantity : Except for the drinks & rice, most items are for sharing by 2 or more.
Quality & Taste : The bulaklak ng kalabasa was stuffed and was quite good. It was not too salty and took on the flavor of the stuffing. The pancit bihon had generous amount of 'sahog' and the noodles have absorbed the flavors. The kare-kare is mildly flavored and was ok but I am one that likes beef fat so I would have liked it more if it had more. The adobong tadyang was fall off the bone tender and just the right level of saltiness. The chicken & pork adobo was ok but would have been better with chicken skin and pork fat & skin (I like fats). The crispy pata meat was soft but needs sauce to be enjoyed. The grilled tuna was tender and no fishy smell or taste. The lychee grape shake was good and I did not feel thick/tough grape skin which is something I do not like with some grape based shake. The minty mango watermelon tasted good and tasted like properly ripened mangoes and good sweet watermelon was used.
Price & Overall : Menu items range from reasonable to high depending on what you will order. Rating is above average and recommended.
To be quite honest, this isn’t the best nor the worst Filipino restaurant I have ever tried, but the food experience was still very satisfying. The service is hands down very commendable, with its free valet service, very polite and formal crew, elegant interior and classy ambiance, I’m already impressed at first sight. On the menu, they serve the very classic Filipino cuisine which is familiar to locals, hence the choices might be too limited if you look for something unique. I think this would be a great place to bring foreign guests or friends.
Great venue for gatherings and intimate meetings. Huge serving, reasonable price, and attentive staff. Go-to morato restaurant for Pinoy food cravings.
Loved this Filipino restaurant that takes its name from it's street address. It is located in a roomy 2 level house. The food, I believe, is home cooked using ancestral recipes.
We started off with an overly sweet Minty Mango Watermelon and Hot Calamansi. Green Mango Pomelo Salad topped with grilled shrimp was refreshing.
Our mains, Pochero and Stuffed Laing, were outstanding. The pochero sauce was surprisingly sweet, but the beef was tender and the banana provided a nice taste contrast. The stuffed laing was delicious with ground pork filling and floating in excellent coconut milk.
We had a good chocolate cake for dessert

Another Filipino restaurant to try!!!! The food is sooooo good.
I love the homey and vintage ambiance. The servers were very polite and attentive! I will definitely come back here. I miss their Bicol express, Laing and Kare-kare ♥️♥️
Limbaga 77 brings Filipino food to a new level. Complete with its homey vibe and vintage set-up, this restaurant should be on your list if you’re craving for good Filipino food, then this is the best spot. It’s like having all that familiar dishes on a Sunday with the whole family. This place was converted from a 50 year old house into a cozy and homey restaurant. Once you come in, friendly staff will accommodate you and will give a huge smile. They really are attentive to your needs, too.
I don’t know about you, but for me, home is where the most divine and heartiest dishes are made. When it comes to comfort food, our moms and grandmothers really do know best, do you agree? Family heirloom dishes make any old morning or any given Sunday meal even better. Moreover, the perfect ending to a hectic day is sitting around the table with family enjoying a warm home cooked meal. It’s that idea of not just about enjoying a meal together, but about celebrating good food and chatting about the day’s events which will definitely bring a family together.
With the rise of new food concepts and being surrounded by countless restaurants, people always have something new to explore. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to expand your palate and enjoy new food. But just in case you want to go back to basics to the food you grew up eating, what would that be?

Filipino food sometimes get some flak for being unimaginative, too greasy, salty or sweet. Many of us, however, grew up with happy memories of the dishes that our mom lovingly prepared during holidays, our lolas slaved over the kitchen during family get-togethers, or were proudly served by our neighbors during fiestas. Criticism against our beloved dishes either go over out heads or are met with fiery backlash.

I have always had a firm belief that good filipino food is honest. A rogue sprinkling of foie gras is all you need for your adobo to cross the fine line between “fusion” and “pretentious”.
Thankfully, Limbaga 77 serves great filipino classics with honest flavors that wouldnt be out of place in lola’s kitchen. Just like the restaurant’s ambience, the food they serve is familiar, relaxed, and comforting. Kind of like a warm hug after a day’s work.
The dishes we had were all filipino staples namely the pochero, bagnet, and mango-watermelon shake. There were also a few different dishes just to mix it up a bit namely the sinigang sa pakwan and my personal favorite, the danggit rice.
I wouldve loved to give Limbaga 77 a “5” rating but i think the desserts could be improved on. Their bitter dark chocolate cake could be a little bit moist and the quezo de bola cheesecake cheesier.
Nonetheles, Limbaga 77 is definitely is a great place to visit.
Limbaga 77 is a specialty Filipino restaurant that has a great and solid menu. The decor is distinctly old Spanish and the food is as refined as you would expect. Definitely a great place for families and gatherings.
Food 10/10
Price 8/10
Ambiance 10/10
Service 10/10
Wait time: less than 30 minutes.
Parking: limited to 4 plus street slots.
Had the chance to dine in this restaurant through an app which gives discount.
Luckily, when we arrived just in time for our reservation schedule, there is a parking space just infront of the restaurant.
The ambiance is very relaxing. Minimalist interior.
We ordered the ff:
Beef salpicao 377php (3.5/5) - beef is tender but it wasn't the taste we are craving for a beef salpicao.
Halaan Soup 277php (5/5) - my husband loved this. Just perfect for the rainy weather. It was served right away.
Binusog na Pusit 377php (4/5) - stuffed squid. Cooked perfectly. Not chewy. Could have been 5 rating if not for the smell, too strong for me. Idk.
Garlic rice 57php (4/5) - typical garlic rice, nothing special. But it's good that it's not oily.
Grass citrus iced tea 97php (3.5/5) - taste light, the lemon grass tasted like winter melon to me.
Brazo de Tablea 277php (3/5) - wished we could have ordered the cheesecake instead of this. It's priced 277 and i think it's not worth it imho.
Overall, we still wanted to go back and try other dishes. Our bill was almost 2k but thanks to the 500php discount (booky). A bit expensive though. On a side note... Now i understand why it's Limbaga 77, because the dishes would have 7 or 77 on the price. Haha.
If there's really remarkable with our dining experience here.. I would give it to the accommodating and very attentive staff. Including the guards that assisted us when we left.
Everything was perfect. The food, ambiance and service are excellent! I really love filipino foods and Limbaga 77 served the best Filipino foods in town! We will come back again for sure! ❤😋🍴
Another best resto to recommend. This is my 4th time here I think and anything I order are super Sarap (delicious).
Recommending:
Beef Salpicao (the best), Sugbat Kilaw, Kare-kare, Laing (Super), Grilled Liempo (perfect) and Halaan Soup. But Guarantee.. everything are delicious!

My first time to visit the place! I must say its A ok. Food tastes great, the staff are friendly & attentive. The place is very homey, i remembered the usual houses in the Scout areas where we lived during childhood days & when I got married where we stayed a few steps away from Morato. My favorites are their Sugbat kilaw, kare-kare & binakol.
Great food and great conversations 👍🏾 the place has a designated smoking area. Must try food items were the laing, bico turon, halaan, 4 flavored wings. 4/5 👍🏾😉
There will be times that you will get used to Filipino food (since they are cooked in your house every single day) to the point that you will always long for other types of food, like Japanese, Italian, and American, among others. I have tried several Filipino restaurants and the competition lies on how they put their respective 'twists' to common Filipino dishes. This is where eating Filipino food outside home sounds pretty much a nice idea.
My journey to finding the perfect set of Filipino dishes with a twist led me to this quaint restaurant at Tomas Morato, Quezon City: the Limbaaga 77 Cafe Restaurant.
The name Limbaga 77 actually came from the restaurants address: No. 77 Scout Limbaga, Quezon City. From the outside, the restaurant looks like a typical old-style Filipino home, which makes your dining experience authentically Filipino. As mentioned, they serve Filipino dishes and most of them are for sharing -- perfect for families.
Limbaga 77 also has an al fresco area in both first and second floors, and they have private rooms for big families or for those who want to hold meetings and activities. Its spiral wooden staircase is really nice. The brick walls with plants as well as the outdoor bar adds beauty to the restaurant.
Some of the bestsellers of Limbaga 77 include Stuffed Bulaklak ng Kalabasa, Pochero, and the Limbaga 77 Baked Lechon Paksiw. And yes, they are not your ordinary Filipino dishes because Limbaga 77 loves to add some twist on every item in their menu.
So, what did we order?
Stuffed Bulaklak ng Kalabasa
I am not a fan of bulaklak ng kalabasa or any vegetable I don't usually eat, but I am surprised how this one tasted so good. The cheese lover in me was very happy with this menu item.
Bagoong Rice
Bagoong rice always reminds me of Thailand. I love bagoong and how it blended with the rice tastes just fine.
Pork Sisig
A typical Filipino sisig is served with egg, but by default, Limbaga 77 serves it without an egg. But nothing to worry about, it can still be served with egg by request. What is special about this sisig is that it is crispier than the common sisig that's usually served sizzling. It is easier to eat a crispy sisig, isn't it?
Adobong Tadyang ng Baka
I have tasted several adobos in my life, but this one tastes different and special. Maybe I have not tasted a beef adobo, or maybe it's the tadyang ng baka. I dunno, but it is something you should definitely order.
Perlas ng Mangga
This is like your typical mango sago dessert, but I love how the Perlas ng Mangga stands out among the others by being more creamy.
Minty Mango Watermelon
I love how the mint adds to the coldness of the shake. Mango and watermelon is a good combination, too.
Lychee Grapes Shake
Before trying this yummy shake, I was skeptical about the combination of lychee and grapes, but is surprisingly tasted good!
The Verdict
Whether you are dining solo or with friends and family, I highly recommend giving Limbaga 77 a try. Aside from the good food, the ambiance of the restaurant is perfect for a gastronomic bonding experience. I have not tried all their bestsellers yet and I think I will bring my family to this place next time. The staff were attentive to the needs of the customers and are very professional. So if you happen to be looking for a homey place to dine in Tomas Morato, this is the place to be.
Situated in the not-so-busy area of Tomas Morato, Limbaga 77 provided a pleasing dining experience. I loved that it's quite far from the busy Tomas Morato night life. The place was minimalist, so pleasing to the eyes.
As for the food, I recommend their Beef Pochero and Four Flavors Chicken Wings. Bit pricey but still just right considering the quality of the food they serve.
Will I go back? Yes.
Number of times visited: Several times for take-out, once for dine in.
Parking: Available, love it that they have valet service.
Food: The food is just okay – it’s not bad, just okay. Average Filipino fare. I like their kare-kare. Although they have quite unique dishes such as the stuffed bulaklak ng kalabasa and stuffed laing. For dessert they recommended the Brazo de Tablea – skip it. The taste was quite puzzling – it’s hard to describe. It didn’t do any wonders for me and it’s expensive at Php277 for a small cake.
Price: Quite expensive for the small sizes of the servings.
Service: A little bit too attentive. They were quite excited to clear the plates even though we still had food on the table.
Place: Spacious and good for large groups.
Repeat: Probably, I find the food average but they have valet and the dining area is spacious.
Been to this restaurant several times already. Their food is just pure modern filipino goodness. Their pochero, herb chicken, and that squash flower shingy are a few of my faves. I have noticed that they keep on updating their menu which is a good thing a guess. Service is excellent and they have vallet parking too!

They offer Filipino Cuisine. I was able to try the Scout Limbaga Salad, the buco pandan, their pansit and Bulaklak ng kalabasa and I loved it. The food are simple and delicious.
(A)mbience:
The place is just simple and clean and has two floors and have an outside area. When you are at the ground floor, you hear the creeks from the second floor guests’ walking, so kinda creepy hehe
(B)utler Service:
The servers are attentive and no problem at all was encountered.
