Pork sinigang is good! Kare kare and crispy pata combo is also for the win! Great for family gatherings. The place is also spacious. They also offer afternoon merienda buffet which offers great selection. Very reasonable price!
I had late lunch with a friend of mine and wanted something hot since it was raining that afternoon. One their posters caught my eye, a bowl of sinigang. Sakto! Just the dish I was craving for. It wasn’t as packed since we went there on a weekday not sure how the crowd is during weekends.
Anyway, their Sinigang can be ordered ala cart or meal. Got their set meal instead for Php 175. Taste was good, the right “asim kilig” was there plus the serving size was generous too. It came with a glass of iced tea.
I couldn’t remember what she ordered but she got lumpiang shanghai. I liked the sweet chili sauce. It was cripsy and meaty on the inside. Not bad! For something less than Php 200.
Comfort food! Whenever my family and I would crave for Filipino food, Syudad by Barrio Fiesta would always be on the top of our list next to Little Quiapo. We would almost always have different orders, so it's great that they offer Solo Meals at very reasonable prices. My favorite is their Kare-Kare solo meal with a very generous serving of vegetables, meat, peanut sauce, bagoong, and steamy white rice! Sarap!👌🏼

I think this place needs more exposure like advertisements and events that people will catch their attention. Good location near grocery and other establishments with free parking from outside to basement. When craving for pinoy merienda buffet try to drop by here from 2 to 5pm for only 168php. Food is great, pinoy snack choices like palabok, pancit, kakanin (unique filipino munchies) etc. Great deal for the price isnt? And the place can also accommodate big groups.
Siyudad at Wilcon is my go-to spot when I'm craving affordable Pinoy merienda fare. That they're heavy on the tummy and would last me until dinner with their buffet is an added bonus. Yes, they're mostly carbs but so are most of our Pinoy snacks. Their spread was also my mom's fave so that's a plus as well.
Classics you should try are their dinuguan which works really well with their puto. It is salty-tangy and with a slight hint of spiciness. Their arroz caldo is nice and full of chicken flavor. Not much chicken though. If you want a bit of meat, try it with their okoy (if available). The pansit/noodles are unfortunately too soggy and consistently so. I have yet to try a springy version after several tries. Still, the buffet is tasty and value for money so I'll definitely be back.
When we visited Wilcon Depot at the Wilcon City Center in Visayas Avenue early last year, we saw a new restaurant near the building’s activity area. It’s called Syudad by Barrio Fiesta. Yes, the restaurant that has been offering festive Filipino cuisine for more than 50 years. During that time, Wilcon City Center was undergoing renovations so we didn’t bother dining in. Fast forward to December 2017, we were able to experience Syudad by Barrio Fiesta.
This establishment needs more exposure. They have good options at affordable prices, including solo meals. Seeing kuhol sa gata in any Filipino resto has always been a delight for me, and theirs is done well. I look forward to coming back.
