Shares a location and staff with Nama nama, which made this review weird. But it's justifyable, since they differ in which kitchen serves food (the place has two kitchens).
I loved my Thai Bagoong Rice (PHP 150). The heaps of satisfying, flavorful rice was there, topped by sweetened pork and green mango shreds. I thought the sweet + sour combination from the pork and mangos was clever! Really made for a multi-dimensional feast!
Also loved the seafood jambalaya (PHP 160) tho I wished half of my toppings weren't processed food (Crab Sticks and Fishballs)
Can't wait to try more food!
Zuppa Cafe has lasted far longer than any of its neighbors. Most restaurants on the second floor of Cybermall in Eastwood have packed up and gone, a virtual revolving door- you don't have the luxury of having favorite dining spots because they inevitably close after a year or two.
Zuppa has fared well because they are not afraid to incorporate changes when needed. The menu has evolved and expanded, and the price range is so forgiving for the employees in Eastwood area.
Feel like rice meals? pho? pasta? a sandwich? Zuppa is your one stop shop.
Favorites include the milkfish steak (super steal at 145p)- super delicious and HUGE serving and Oh Tokyo - a Japanese style bistek rice bowl.
Drop by and try- avoid the lunch crowd by coming in a bit early.
Eversince i've worked here in Cybermall , this is my go to place for a hearty lunch , tried almost everything in the menu - and its all goood .. My faves - salpicao, jambalaya, oh tokyo, bulgogi , and thai bagoong with green mango strips on top , so yum ! .. This is a Must try !!!
Good news is that this place is open 24 hours on weekdays! Which means this is the go-to place for anyone whose working night-shift in Eastwood. Best seller is the thai bagoong. Just be prepared as they have a big serving. Good meal on a budget! 👍 #yum
Zuppa Café and Namanama are conjoint at the Cyber and Fashion Mall, Eastwood. I've been working in Eastwood for more than 3 years now and I never really took interest on Zuppa that much before. The place was too open and it looked a bit like a canteen. But since I tasted their dishes in August - WOW - we've regularly come back ever since. Particularly impressed with the curry dishes and my partner never gets tired of their Asian Grilled Pork Belly.
One of the down sides would be there are times they run out of a certain dish and the staff try to point fingers - which is just a bit funny - but either way I get to try other stuff which equally delivers. 😄
Zuppa Cafe serves their delicious food cheap and in generous servings. (#rice) Don't expect a lot in terms of ambiance. This is on the third floor of Cybermall and has a foodcourt-like setting. This is why a lot of foodies skip this place when checking out restaurants in Eastwood City. Don't be one of them and give this place a chance. You'll find this the perfect go-to if you're a kain-karpentero like me. :)
When I'm not in the mood for Nama Nama's grilled chicken and laksa rice, I order from the Zuppa menu and get the beef with Thai bagoong rice. It's a little bit sweet and a lot more salty. The rice meal servings are "kargador" sized and is totally worth the price that you pay.
TIP: Sometimes, when I'm with a friend, I'd order the Thai bagoong rice and the Nama Nama grilled chicken with laksa rice, then have both dishes split into 2 so I can have a bit of both dishes I love coming back to in one visit.
Great food comes with a cheap value? Yes!! Comes with a great serving, too! This place is usually jam packed during lunch and now I know why. Ordered their Bagoong Rice and although Bagoong may seem to be very "umay", this dish wasn't like that at all! Right mixture of bagoong with mango slices (yes, you read that right) and meat. Wish they will have an extension in the future. And yes, another branch seems like a good idea, too!
little gem at 3rd floor cybermall... not a lot of people know this and we would say that you should give it a try.
the very same staff that used to man their pearl drive branch are here (my sykes days, 2003 -joan).
personal favorites are fab crab, beef salpicao and thai bagoong rice. each order is served with a generous serving of rice ;)
