Galing kme dito (maginhawa branch) last june 20 ng family ko. Sarap ng seafood platter at giant bf squid. Ok naman ang service at my band pa. Ganda boses ni ate. Sana lang may high chair para sa bata na pagod ako kaka habol sa anak ko hehe. Overall great experience. Definitely will come back.
For food lovers, it’s the perfect place to hang out! Good food and also affordable. The sauce in their seafood festival was one of the best I’ve tasted, and of course their giant butterfly squid was the star on the table! :D We visited their Maginhawa branch and there they have live acoustic performance plus a fast WiFi connection. ;)
Love seafood. The giant squid is a run for your money. Their are other selections in the menu that taste well too. Will surely go back here and have my fill.

Finally, someone who knows to fry their squid just right! Of all the shops in The Streat, this is the only one I have remained consistent visiting. And they have always remained consistent on the quality of the food they put out of their kitchen. Unlike other fried squids/calamares we often experience from various restaurants, theirs is actually more tender. Which surprised me, because they're not that expensive, hence I was more expecting that they'll be more limited on the quality of squid that they can only source. Hindi sya makunat. :-)
However, I do know that they have different packages, depending on how hungry/how many of you are going to eat, but to be honest, I don't see much difference between the size of the squid per class. Their rice is really delicious (though I am not sure what kind of rice it is, but hell, for something that tasty, would you still like to care that much?), but the serving is quite... less, compared to the usual 1 rice servings of other food places.
Aside from the giant squid, their other seafood package (the one with clams and corn) is also worth the try. That buttery sauce really hits the spot! But you might get bitin with this if you are 3-4 as their serving suggestion says, so better get an extra giant squid to fill the gap.
What I hate about this location is that, it's terribly hot in The Streat!!! Their food is great, but it's very hard to appreciate it if you're too busy wiping off your sweat. I know they have a new branch at the other side of the street that is much comfortable than this one, but as for this site, I don't recommend this to be visited on a hot night. :-/ this site terribly needs better ventilation for you to enjoy your food better...
Eto yung favorite kainan ko sa StrEat everytime napupunta ko ng Teacher’s Village. Bukod sa affordable yung menu nila sulit na sulit yung sarap if mahilig ka sa calamares! Masarap din yung suka na binibigay nila para sa squid. Medyo matagal nga lang yung serving nila minsan tsaka minsan di lahat ng nasa menu available. Tsaka monsan sobrang lagkit na ng kanin. Parang kakanin na. ☹️ Pero overall masarap yung butterfly squid nila!

It was a li’l treat for kiddos before they hit their first day in school. Well aside from the fact that all my boys loved street calamares, which they stitch on a stick for 5php each, they just can’t get enough of it. So i thought of idulging them with a giant butterfly squid pricked into a single stick standing proud and looks exactly like Groot of Guardians of the Galaxy. Served in Above Sea Level restaurant, it was a friend’s recommendation to watch their segment from “May puhunan” show hosted by Karen Davila, enticingly presented in a 30min video, we rushed to Maginhawa to personally experience it. The place was nice and looks clean in every corner, there was a one man band performing and the dining area was almost full with kids running around. Kids settled in a table with japanese setting as we have to slump on the floor with legs crossed while enjoying the food. It wasn’t that pricey, we were 6 and our total bill was just less than 2kphp with almost all their menu higjlights in our table, (Groot, crazy ramen, seafood platter, shrimp in bacon, tonkatsu ramen and california maki). I liked the idea of just putting plastic hand gloves on and diving into their seafood diet. I guess what makes this resto a hit was the food presented in a cute and crazy manner. It was IG worthy and also fun to eat. Taste was so-so, even heard one of my kids said “nothing beats street calamares”. Lol. But this one is sure safe and clean of course. Plus the squid is tender and tasty for me. It’s still a 4 of 5 stars and RECOMMENDED!👌🏻

This is my second time dining at the kiosk, the taste of butterfly squid is still consistent - better partnered with their vinegar. Now, we ordered a seafood festival, it has crabs, shrimps, mussels and java rice with the thick butter sauce. It was tasty, delicious and enjoyable. One thing that hinders me from giving 5 is their service, too slow in serving the dish. It took them 30 minutes to serve our giant butterfly squid and an hour or so for the seafood festival. This was past 9pm already. I believe this is due to lack of crew. I hope they’d put more crew and cooking paraphernalia.
Coming from Cebu City, where food parks are also very common, this one's something new to me. Definitely a must-try in Streat & if you love seafood! Prices are reasonable as well. Good catch! ;)
This food stall is very easy to spot, when you enter StrEAT, you can immediately see it and smell their food. Ordered the Super Giant Butterfly Squid which is good for two for only 250 Php, the serving is generous and it came with two cups of java rice and special vinegar. Tastes better than your usual fried squid but nothing remarkable. It’s good for 250Php though, props to the unique presentation.
Wow. A squid bigger than my face? 😱 It’s crunchy on the outside but super tender on the inside! Tastes really good. Love the sauce that came with it. Also love their seafood festival, it’s good enough to fill 3 hungry stomach! I’d definitely come back
The Squidfest is the best!! Me and my friends recommend it to anyone who wants to eat at your stall. Great texture and the crunchiness of the squid, just wow!!👌😆 and great ambiance too!! 👏😄
Ate here around 10pm on a Thursday night with my boyfriend. We ordered the seafood festival and the super. Food was awesome. I did not feel sick at all from eating too much. There's just two of us that ate a good for 3-5 person food. They provided gloves for eating. Very much satisfied with the food. Obviously, a lot of people are also since they had a lot of people lining up. Seafood served were fresh, the squid wasn't tough to eat. The rice was just right so that you won't get full quickly and be able to eat everything on the seafood festival platter. However, if you are a rice person, additional rice would be great. I would suggest to get scissors or something to crack the crab shells with.
