Most of the food tasted good and was still hot when it was delivered. Small portions though, its not really enough for sharing. The crab meat rice and lechon macau was both very dry and seemed like it was not cooked fresh, only reheated.
Just like the old times....
Binondo Mami: malasa ung soup, malambot ung asado and chicken. Masarap din ung siomai and noodles. Sobrang sakto ung timpla perfect kapag nilagyan nang chili sauce.
Pinsec prito: favorite ko ung pinsec prito nila kasi madaming balat.
For price sulit naman sya kasi malaki ung servings. Pwede dalawsng tao dun sa binondo mami.
Ambience: ok naman malinis ang dining area, malinis din ang cr. Walang amoy mabaho.
staff: maasikaso at mabilis ang serving time.
Babalik ako dito for sure. Kasi ung pumunta ko dito kopi tiam ang name pero wala sila available coffee that time. Hehe!
Our family celebrated my uncle's birthday here.
The food : they are all fantastic!
Ambience and place : it looks like it's a small place outside but once you're inside it's not.
I personally loved sweet and sour pork 😍😍😍
Yum yum yum yum. If you like North Park, you’ll like this place. Food is the same. I can’t tell the difference except the interiors are warmer and more inviting because of the wooden tables and chairs versus the metal tables usually found in North Park.

Honestly I cannot tell the difference between North Park and Kopi Tiam. It’s because I order the same thing probably. Salt and Pepper Squid, Lechon Macau, Fresh Lemonade are still my top picks. Parking is available here

Jellybeans In The City
+4.5
This cozy resto in New Manila is actually known for offering affordable versions from the original North Park menu. We recently welcomed my parents home with a sumptuous dinner in Kopi Tiam. The place is located along C. Benitez Street, past Camp Crame from EDSA. The part of Boni Serrano leading to this place was pretty dark and I had my doubts on whether we were in the right location. Fortunately, Hubby chanced upon the signage and we were soon assisted by a friendly security guard into our parking space.
When we asked mom and lola what they wanted for dinner, they said lugaw. We were in the area so I suggested Kopi Tiam by North Park. It was everybody's first time here. The place looked like a house that was converted into a restaurant. The interiors were similar to North Park's but there was a display of desserts, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, savory buns and assorted breads for take home.
On the table
🔹Fried Noodles - a giant dish of crispy noodles with the sahog in the middle. It was quite hard to mix and we really appreciated that the server offered to toss it for us. We were amazed at how she was able to mix everything without making a huge mess. The dish was as good as I remembered from our North Park visits. The portion was so huge we took some of it home.
🔹Pinsec Frito
🔹Siomai
🔹Shredded Pork w/ Century Egg Congee
🔹Chicken w/ 3 Kinds of Mushroom
The Congee were served in black bowls that kept them warm throughout the meal. The eggs were served on the side. Mom and Lola were happy with their orders. The Congee tasted really good. The Pinsec Frito and Siomai were delicious too.
I bet we'll be back for our North Park cravings in case we're in the area. I would love to try the other non-North Park dishes too and maybe bring home some of those breads and desserts.
Kopi Tiam had a familiar feel to it when I first tried their food. I didn't know at the time that it was a NP expansion of sorts. I had the laksa as a late lunch/merienda and I think it could have been better. I meam it was good but I was expecting it to be creamier and less like a base soup with curry. I'm hoping to try their other menu items with the family on my next visit.
It’s a go to place after events we do in the area of Cubao or San Juan. It does have a signature kick of North Park and adds up with other Asian dishes. Binondo Mami for one is a favorite every time. It has a mild soup mixed with soft noodles, dimsum and fish. The taste has so much flavor in every slurp. Another must have is their fresh lumpia for only Php 130. It has generous portion of veggies wrapped in goodness.
Kopi Tiam is another extension of North Park's umbrella of restaurants. This one is a fusion of their usual NP noodles with some Malay classics and coffee offering.
I had my late snack here and ordered their bestseller or rather what is not available on the NP menu. Laksa and Kopi C.
The laksa wasn't the usual rich, creamy spicy soup that we are used to. It is soupy that is topped with chicken breast chunks and fishballs. The flavor was there but lacks the creaminess laksa should have.
The Kopi C on the other hand was good. It still has a strong coffee taste after blending it with condensed milk. I miss my teh tarik moments from Kota Kinabalu after having this.
Kopi Tiam is a great alternative for late night snacks especially they closes at 2am everyday. But my suggestion is to get the Chinese noodle soups plus coffee.

The resto's layout is nice, and their food is really good! We were able to try their Binondo Mami, Laksa noodles and Seafoods Bibimbop. Plus a to-go of their cupcakes which is also good and I think I will definitely go back there and buy some more :D

We also had some North Park classics like super good Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet. It's crispy on the outside and soft inside. The China Chicken though was bland and its sauce was the only one making it interesting.
The best thing they've made up here is their dessert! Man, you gotta visit for the Storm. It's like Halo Halo only made 10x better. It's not too sweet and had a perfect mix of combinations inside the glass.
I may not be a hard-core food critic but I'm a hundred percent foodie! I love food and I love to eat (that's why I easily gain weight lol!). I have a long list of my favorite dishes and desserts. You can't force me to choose just one. I have a group of friends, a.k.a. Pokerfaces, who I have been friends for 7 years now... and counting! For several months now, a couple of us get together and bond over food. Almost, or every other Sunday night, we look for new places where we can dine and just converse about anything under-the-sun.
It's situated at No. 3 C. Benitez Street in Horseshoe Village in Quezon City. It's near Camp Crame. I believe it's an old house converted to a restaurant. The place has a cozy and sophisticated ambiance and serves mostly Asian dishes. The price is reasonable for how good the dishes taste. I'm someone who always make sure to get the best value for my money. If I eat somewhere and afterwards felt that what I paid was not worth of the food's quality, I don't ever come back to that place. So Kopi Tiam is one of the exceptions. Every dish that we have tried out at Kopi Tiam receives a two-thumbs up! But my recent favorite will be their dessert "Warm Choco Tablea". By the looks of it, I bet you're already drooling over it. Lol! You should be! Their website described it perfectly: "Melt in your mouth chewy chocolate". It has the perfect full cocoa flavor with a custard on top which the sweetness is just-right. Although I suggest you share it with someone, or else you'll get satiated.
Our regular picks are:
-Yang Chow fried rice
-King Dao spare ribs (salt and pepper) --> I love the combination of the spare ribs plus the pickled radish and vinegar
-Lechon macau --> with Hoisin dip, yum!
-China Chicken (roasted chicken)
Coffee is different and good. Not life changing but good all the same. Had the binondo mami which is similar to the one at Ma (Mami House) just a /bit/ better because of the quality of ingredients. I also got to try the fresh lumpia which was tasty too. It's a nice place to chill and have a cup if you're stuck in traffic or in the area.
Always a good time when we dine in at Kopi Tiam.
We always eat here whenever we have an event in the area. And it never fails us.
We love their Beef with Broccoli and Yang Chow Fried Rice.
Their Warm Tablea Cake is also a must! Super yummy! :)
Don't know what to order? I recommend the following: Yang Chow fried Rice, sweet and sour pork, garlic squid, beef with broccoli flowers and fried noodles
I didnt realize that this restaurant is a sister company of North Park. That was why they had a similar menu offered. I liked the restaurant's location and also their interiors. My mom and I ordered for a take out and they served it with organized plastic containers. Their food is delicious! Try it :)
Comfort food. House turned restaurant. Very nice ambiance. Parking is limited though. The cakes and the coffee is to die for. Food is very similar to north park. Yang chow fried rice, sweet and sour fish, Lemon chicken would be one of my favorites.
The Laksa here is pretty good, spicy and satisfying with lots of meaty bits; wish it had more soup. Compared to how North Park Next Door, the fresh Lumpia here is better prepared and looks better - but it's just as delicious.
