What I liked:
Overall experience at Johnny’s was refreshing. We were greeted with a warm welcome upon entering. The interiors scream of bright colors. I loved how light their hawaiian nachos were. Even with a big serving, it’s not nakakaumay and will not take your appetite away from the mains. The poke bowls were both good. The salmon cuts were fresh and the flavors were interesting.
This restaurant is soo underrated. We went in for dinner and the oysters still tasted really fresh. They were so big and extremely worth it.
The servings were generally big. The shrimps in a bucket were really good. The chicken wings weren’t what we expected (not the usual battered, fried chicken wings) and were pretty small but the sauce was still quite good.
I’m giving it five stars because it definitely deserves a high overall rating than 3.8 here on Zomato.
Their oysters are definitely a MUST. 👏🏼 I’m definitely going back for them and hoping the quality remains great.
This is worth the try since this is the first time I dined in here. I recommend their Kung Pao Shrimp Pasta. 😋
The ambiance is nice and the place is very cozy. Definitely gonna come back for more.
We tried their Classic Kahuku Shrimp Truck and Kung Pao Shrimp Linguni, yep, shrimp all the way! Their food were somewhat pricey but we did certainly paid for good quality. Serving size is generous. The place has a good ambiance and soundtrack. Staffs were attentive and accomodating.

The food was good but a bit pricey for an everyday dine in. Its good for occasion and for someone looking for a variety of seafood in one plate. There “turtle pie” was delicious and not too sweet.

We always want to feel a relaxing vibe whenever dining out and I think one of the closest is the hawaiian island vibes of Johnny Kahuku.
(F)ood:
They provide fresh, hot, off-the-grill seafood and meat. I always order here one of their pride trucks for I feel it is more sulit with both shrimp and pork in one dish and comes with a soup. Their buckets are also a great addition to any group meal but I order the bucket of mussels which has a great buttery sauce with it.
(A)mbience:
Island vibes with the murals and the wooden tables. The staff wear hawaiian shirts and leis to add to the hawaiian theme of the restaurant. Love the colorful murals that come with the restaurant.
(B)utler Service:
The staff are friendly and are always attentive to their customer's requests.

This restaurant specializing in fresh seafood fare looks interesting. We dropped by one day to give it a try. Johnny Kahuku's Hawaiian Shrimp House fuses global flavors into familiar Hawaiian dishes. I'm not familiar with any Hawaiian dishes exactly, so it was a good chance to taste them for the first time here.
The ambiance looked like a beach house with plenty of Hawaiian-inspired decors. You'd really feel like you're somehow transported into a different location far from the noisy crowd of Eastwood.
We came as a group of three. The staff gave us their lunch set menu and we found the Scampi Set perfect for our appetite. It consisted of Kahuku's Special Scampi, Asian Crispy Squid, Tropical Iced Tea, and Steamed Rice -- for P999.
Fortunately, the tastes worked out well. The Crispy Squid as a starter was sensational. It was indeed crispy and tasty, not chewy at all. Served in good-sized portions, it was also beautifully presented which made it more eye-catching. Kahuku's Special Scampi had a commendable sweet and savory flavor with good chewy and bouncy texture. We loved that it's saucy--so good to eat with rice.
They've been open for 2 years and we haven't tried this restaurant out so my boyfriend and I had dinner here instead.
Tuna Shoyo Poke (Php 345 - chilled ahi tuna, ginger shoyu dressing and toasted cashew) it was our appetizer haha he knew I was hungry and they had limited appetizers so i picked out the first dish he saw. It was the littler version kilawin.
Kalua Pulled Pork Bowl (Php 285 - pineapple brined pulled pork, buttered cabbage, huli huli sauce, steamed rice and stir-fry vegetables) I liked the sweetness of the sauce thanks to pineapple mixed into the sauce of pulled pork.
Classic Kahuku Shrimp Truck (Php 595 - garlic butter shrimp, Hawaiian fried rice, macaroni salad, sweet and sour sauce) they also have 9pcs for Php 735. Php 595 for 6 pcs of shrimp. It included a taro soup which was refreshingly unique. Wish the shrimp was bigger though other than that we both liked the dish.
Have to admit their food are somewhat pricey but we did certainly paid for quality food.
We passed by and went in just out of curiosity. We ordered the Ahi Tuna with Pineapple rice bowl and the 6pcs garlic butter shrimp with Hawaiian rice, grilled corn on the cob and grilled pineapple.
They were both excellent. The ahi tuna rice bowl was fresh and refreshing.
The shrimp dish was huge and really delicious. shrimp was crunchy, tasty and cooked perfectly.
I would love to eat here again. and again. 😁
