Service: parang medyo unapproachable yung staff, di tuloy kami nakapagpapicture. Selfie na lang 😅
Food: okay naman, not the best Japanese restaurant and medyo pricey. Their makis are great. Their rice bowls are 3.5/5. For the tempura, medyo konti tapos mahal pa. Beef rice bowl na lang siguro orderin para mas sulit yung binayad
It has been a few years since I haven't been to the place, but it was very, very nice that Teriyaki Boy has kept up with its distinctive taste, texture and very apt portions of the miso soup and yakimeshi for an early dinner. Very high marks indeed and truly your value's worth :-) Light and hearty is the way you can enjoy and best describe these fare, plus staff friendly and helpful; when I was told that it would take 15 minutes to prepare, my orders were served 12 minutes, ahead of schedule--super prompt! Place kept very clean, atmosphere hushed and discreet with J-pop played softly as background music. It was also a delight to have the soy sauce and chili oil (which I enjoy putting over yakimeshi) in those aesthetically cute little black and gold band jugs. Once again, domo arigato gozaimasu, Teriyaki Boy Gateway, and keep up the very great work :-)

Menu is easy to read, and the food taste doesn’t disappoint. The chicken is also not fatty and the sauce complements the overall dish. Food is not overpriced, but the place can be a bit cleaner. We arrived nearing the closing hours so that was somehow expected.
Their Chicken Teriyaki was really yummy. Hubby didn’t love their Beef Strips Teriyaki since he said it was like eating Tapa and not Japanese food. Loved their California Maki, Tuna and Salmon Sashimis. Kani Salad’s serving was huge.
Service was great, they were very attentive and accommodating.
since this is near my place + i like japanese food, i tend to eat here a lot. i usually get the tuna tartare + teriyaki lunch bento. the most affordable amongst the japanese food shops in the area (unless i count the ones from ali mall and farmers).
their tuna tartare, teriyaki chicken, egg roll and katsu curry are very good :)
staff is usually friendly, but serving time/service tend to suffer during peak hours. it might also be my terrible luck (or that i usually am here during lunch/afternoon), but the place tends to be pretty sweltering. A/C please?
Big serving so. It is just right for the price. Recommended:all their makis 👍
Rice bowls are big and enough for. One person. ambience os okay as well
Very polite and attentive staff. Food is superb and served hot. I intend to come back to try the other dishes in their menu. Highly recommended for your japanese food cravings.

Thursday, 4:30-5:30PM
Ordered:
Edamame P90
Tempura Tuna Tartare P180
Shake Sashimi P220
Yakimeshi P76
Ebi Tempura (3 pcs) P195
After walking for nearly three hours with a few short breaks, happy I can finally have my late lunch/early dinner here. Food served promptly and glad restaurant is provides complimentary hot barley tea. I can remember afternoon spent with high school friends at their Katipunan branch ten years ago and brings a lot of memories!
Was starving and I can be super matakaw so I finished all of it in just a few minutes. Thanks to Manager Glads for being very accommodating and for the efficient service. I had a few gift certificates with me so it also helped in paying my bill. FYI, food ordered is just for one, so not bad considering total bill charged is only P761 for all of it.
Highly recommending their tuna tartare + yakimeshi combo. Will definitely be back to try their sushi rolls soon!
Service is great. Place and ambience - very good. Now let's talk food.
Cheezy Gyoza - I'm a cheese lover. I'll die for this
Sushi - love them
Ramen - better than fast food. Chashu is tender.
Ju - they're good. Meat is seasoned well
Value for money - it's pricey. Don't make it an everyday meal.
We ordered Gyuniku Ramen and Sukiyaki for the cold night. I was supposed to have Chashu Ramen but it was not availablr though.
Unfortunately, only the bowl of Gyuniku Ramen is smoking hot while the soup is not that hot.
Still, I prefer Gyuniku Ramen over Sukiyaki because the meat in Sukiyaki tasted so sweet.
Anyway, I think Rob Galleria branch is better.
Good serving. Food was served warm. Attentive and gracious servers. Good ambiance conducive for catch ups and conversations. Really loved the tuna tartare. Wish the rice could’ve been a bit stickier, needed to use spoon before we finished our rice bowls, but maybe it’s just because of the sauce. Would go back to this place again.
Good food but quite small serving for me. The place is nice also, at night time where you can view araneta center/farmers mall from the window side is good. The staff are quite accommodating.
It’s been more than a year since I last ate here. I recall that this used to be one of the first Japanese restaurant to open way before other Japanese pop-ups and franchises sprouted in the metro and became a craze. Whilst the menu has upgraded, I also noticed that rates also increased from last time. Since I missed their famous chicken teriyaki, I ordered the bento box. It was filling and rather satisfying. You’ve got steaming hot rice, fried veggies, fish with nori, juicy chicken teriyaki and a slice of sponge cake for dessert. Worth mentioning also are the staff who are proactive. The attendant tried to upsell drinks initially, gave a clear expectation on the cooking time, updated order status and had a beaming personality all through out. Another male attendant took initiative to offer me refills for water and ice even after I billed out. Keep it up!
Comfortable place to dine in with your family and friends. They've got a clean place with big tables. I love it as it was easy to move while eating. I ordered the set meal. It contained chicken with rice in a bowl, ramen noodle ( the same size of the bowl of chicken and rice), 2 maki, kani salad and iced tea. My friend had the same order, and we decided to have gyoza. I was happy with the chicken and rice, i loved the teriyaki sauce of it. Salad was great, and the maki had a typical taste (nothing special). I didnt enjoy the ramen noodle. This noodle had seaweed, which was fine and a slice of pork. However, the noodle was overcooked. It was also really soggy, and its soup was no longer hot when served to us. The saltiness of the soup was also undeniable. Gyoza was also okay. Similar to maki, there was nothing really exceptional in it. The service could surely be improved. Our food was served after 15 minutes or so. We were informed, though. The servers were not too friendly, but they werent really snob. A bit of smile will probably be better... if they do. Its prices are reasonable as they give good servings. You'll really be full after your meal. I just hope that they improve their ramen.
We were looking for a good place where we could have dinner on a Monday evening, and since we were craving for something Japanese, we decided to go for Teriyaki Boy. It’s not as popular as it was but it could still punch in some Eastern authenticity.
I was with my sister, which gave me a chance to be able to order more than I could handle. It didn’t take long for the food to arrive, and the serving time was just as good as the dishes.
On top of my list would be their Tonkatsu Curry. The meat was tender, even though the breading was deep fried and crispy. The curry complimented the pork’s flavor, so we finished it almost as soon as we started it. It could use, however more serving of curry and a kick of more spice.
Another one that I fancied on was their Tuna Tartare, an original French cuisine that they infused with an Asian appeal. This serving didn’t need the usual soy sauce as it was seasoned well already. It’s generous tempura bits also gave an interesting crunch once in awhile.
We also tried their dynamite roll, a Western-style sushi, that contains a piece of prawn tempura and masago, with other vegetables. The cheese tried to neutralized the fire like spicyness of the roll. This one is a must order if you love ‘hot’ food!
Their tempura didn't disappoint either, as it could easily be comparable with what the rest of the Metro has to offer. Each bite was also packed with shrimp. It was not your usual airy kind found elsewhere.
To even out the flavors of the food that we had and provide some nutrients, we also tried their Yasai Itame, or better known as stir fried vegetables, for our side order. Their Yasai Itame stood out, given its infusion of signature Chicken Teriyaki. And hey, this was only Php 120!
This round of Teriyaki Boy experience was great overall, and I'd recommend it for you if you like Japanese right away without the hefty price. It's available in major malls, and currently they have 12 in NCR.
Classic case of being at the right place at the right time. Turns out they have a special lunch menu from 11 am to 2 pm, with 5 different variations for a great deal! I choose the Teriyaki rice bowl, Chasu Ramen Shouyu, Kani salad and 2 pc. California Maki roll. Priced at 340 php.
I've been hearing all about the good reviews of their chicken teriyaki and let's just say that there's a reason why the place is called TERIYAKI BOY. Needless to say, the food was awesome, although the ramen could have been better which is why I gave it 4.5 instead of a full 5.
The staff were very courteous and polite. Kudos to my server who took very good care of me during my visit, I didn't even have to call anyone's attention for a glass of water. Definitely one of my better dinning experience.
Food: 5/5
Otaku foodies, another Japanese restaurant to go to! It's one of the best Japanese restaurants in the Metro that I've been to. You should try their famous Chicken Tariyaki Set. It is composed of chicken teriyaki drenched in teriyaki sauce, steamed Japanese rice, veggies (bean sprouts), and soup or cake rolls. It was worth it! All delicious food in one set. And those chicken teriyaki are to die for! It was juicy, succulent, tender, cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth! We also tried their Philly Cheese Steak Rolls which are philly cheese steak in a rice roll served with a white sauce. It was so good! Serving size was great and the price range was so affordable. So worth your money. 🙌
Ambience: 5/5
The place screams Japan! It has this yellow-black theme and the Japanese interior design also catches my attention. It was a nice place to get your tummies filled. 🙌
Service: 5/5
The staff were all welcome-y and approachable. They all wore smiles when serving our food. They even asked if we would like more Iced Tea (since we ordered Bottomless), if the food was great and if we need anything else. The food also came right on time. So two thumbs up for those chefs and cooks! 🙌
Will definitely go back here and try their other dishes. Thank you for giving us these Japanese food and vibes. Arigato Gosaimasu! 😊
Since Cubao is very close to my heart, my boyfriend and I decided to watch Spidey here. We needed to wait an hour to watch the show so we decided to take our late lunch first. We roam around Cubao and good thing we saw Teriyaki Boy. Good thing I'm in the mood to eat ramen.
We ordered Chicken Bento and Gyuniku Ramen. I hope I could upload my video here while Im eating. I love their food but it is pricey. 🐸
Nice well decorated restaurant inside gateway mall. Nice view if ur sitting near the window.
I liked the sushi the most. The crab salad barely had any crab. The barbecue chicken is average. The soup wasn't edible.
Visited the place with my mom and her college batchmates (note: seniors). Servers were attentive to the group (esp. me in refilling my bottomless Iced Tea). Staff who took their orders was patient enough to wait for the individual orders of the group (of 8). Was able to sample Gyoza, Tempura Tuna Tartare, Tori Karaage, and Yakimeshi.
Gyoza - Has that regular Gyoza taste and texture but a bit rubbery. 4/5
Tempura Tuna Tartare - So-so taste. Good thing it was a bit spicy, and I like spicy food. 3.5/5
Tori Karaage - Tastes good, chicken was juicy but the breading was still a bit starchy. 4/5
Yakimeshi - Sorry, but fares not much from a fast food chain's Chowfan... 2.5/5
Overall, the experience was nice. The place is great except perhaps for a single fly that hovered on all of my mom's friends' plates.
No more Agedashi Tofu that made me a little disappointed. OR perhaps I didn't ask. Their menu book has changed.
Teriyaki Boy is definitely one of our favorites.
Must try will be their Belly Beef Teppanyaki, Tempura Tuna Tartare and Philly Cheese Steak Roll.
It is a little pricey too. They had a price increase I think around late last year.
Teriyaki Boy:
Tuna Sashimi Tartare - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
Shake Sashimi - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
Mixed Tempura - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
#ilovetoeatph 😃❤ #TeriyakiBoy
Craving for Ramen led us here in Teriyaki boy. Although the place looks like they are leaning towards fine dining, I must say their service is quite a disappointment. None of the staff were willing to assist and we were the ones who kept on asking for their service aa it seems like they are too busy chit chatting. I swear i could re-tell their whole life stories after I left the place.
The food was good though, we ordered Tanmen ramen ebi temura tonkatsu and mango tempura for dessert.
In search of ramen, I and my bestfriend came across this resto.
FOOD: We were not satiated by their ramen. Too many soup as if ingredients were floating/swimming around. Katsudon is OK.
SERVINGS: OK
PRICE: Affordable
SERVICE: Good
PLACE: nice view if sitted by the couch next to the window giving u the busy view of cubao. Placements of the seats made an obstacle course for us to get out of the resto
Gyoza, philly cheesesteak roll, wafu steak, gyuniku teriyaki and tori brown rice. My usual choices when I go here. It's a good japanese fast food. Good place with good food
Literally meaning summer roll, I discovered the natsu maki the other day by chance. It came in Teriyaki Boy’s Summer Set, together with a chicken teriyaki rice bowl, a katsudon rice bowl and two glasses of iced tea. Of all the sushi I ever ate, this was my first shot at a maki with watermelon in it. I never thought that a fruit as summery and juicy as a watermelon would go well with the flavor of kani, but it surprisingly turned out to be a refreshingly nice combination. Although the Teriyaki Boy chicken and katsudon rice bowls were both smaller than their usual donburi, the 379-peso Summer Set was still worth it for me

TERIYAKI BOY CHICKEN RICE BOWL. Ah, my favorite. I can not remember an instance wherein I went to Teriyaki Boy and did not order this ever since the day I first did. Even though smaller than their usual donburi, I liked its sweet and savory teriyaki sauce as much as I always have.
KATSUDON RICE BOWL. This is similarly a smaller version of their regular rice bowl but hey, what have I to complain about? This came in a set of three dishes and two drinks worth only 379 pesos, and I left the restaurant with a satisfied stomach and palate anyway.
NATSU MAKI. This watermelon and shredded kani wrapped in sushi rice and nori, topped with watermelon, Japanese mayo, fish roe and black sesame is one interesting dish indeed. The fresh sensation this maki leaves in one's mouth just screams summer.
Of all the sushi I ate, be it authentic, modernized or tweaked in some other way, this was my first shot at a maki with watermelon in it. It was rolled in sushi rice together with shredded kani, another novelty for me. I never thought that a fruit as summery and juicy as a watermelon would go well with the flavor of crab meat like mangoes and avocados usually do, but it surprisingly turned out to be a refreshingly nice combination.
And that's all for now. This is somewhat a comeback food blog post for me, my first since the last one I published three years ago. Stay tuned as I reawaken my love for writing about food and follow me on WordPress and/or Zomato via Facebook, Google or email.
'Til my next foodgasmik adventure!
Everytime I went to Gateway Mall, I always pass by Teriyaki Boy restaurant but never had a chance to dine here since (1) Place looks so high-end and (2) I thought that serve pricey dishes. Haha But I was so wrong..
Came here at around 4pm on a Friday and place there were maybe 3-4 groups of customers dining in. We were immediately assisted by one of the staffs and we chose to dine near the window (kailangan ko ng magandang lighting haha).
Place is spacious and enough to accommodate large packs of customers, I guess. Lighting can be a dim so if you want a nice photo of the foods, you can try to seat near the windows :) Menu was handed to us upon seating.
Here's what we ordered:
Summer Set: Teriyaki Boy Chicken Rice Bowl, Katsudon Rice Bowl, Natsu Maki and two glasses of Iced Tea (Php379)
Chicken Rice Bowl
- The chicken was very tender and has this sweet & salty taste. At first, I thought that they will only give us small servings since this is just a promo meal but surprisingly, serving given were enough to satisfy us.
Katsudon Rice Bowl
- I like this Katasudon rice bowl as it was very tasty and crunch. Again, servings were enough for me.
Natsu Maki
- Whoa. They really gave us huge amount of natsu maki given that this is just a promo. They gave us 8 pcs to be exact and we were able to eat 4 pieces since we were already full at that time.
Teriyaki Boy Chicken Ramen (Php225)
"Our signature Teriyaki Boy Chicken served on top of your choice noodle in shoyu base" - This ramen is very flavorful and I like that the noodles were cooked well.
Green Tea Jelly (Php75)
"Green Tea gelatin with whipped cream and adzuki beans"
- I like the green tea taste but just a bit dissapointed that the jelly itself wasn't that soft for my liking. The jelly reminded of "kutsinta".
Green Tea Milkshake (add Php40 - Summer Set)
- Not sweet for my taste and very refreshing so I really like this one. Overall, I was more than satisfied with the meals we ate here.
Prices were affordable for me and can't wait to be back here with more friends. Highly recommended :)
Good food as usual. Got the tempura, gyudon, teriyaki chicken sushi roll and the kani salad. Service could have been better. Had to followup on the bill. Other than that, we got what we paid for.
Zarishia Artus Maini
+3.5
Tuna Tartare and the Chashu Ramen Shoyu (dunno if I spelled that right) is to die for.
I wish they'd go back to how much the servings were before. Because it seemed that the last time I went there, the servings became too small to share even for two people.
Good customer service. But the place seems kinda small. Its like "siksikan" type of resto or maybe its because there were a lot of people when I tried this resto. Their wafu rice is very delicious!
Teriyaki Boy's the reason why I love japanese foods, It's really amazing just like Sumo Sam, I know It has the same owner (Marvin Agustin) but damn, It's very delicious! ✌🏽️ I love you japanese foods! Tempura! 😎 Servings comes in huge tho.
Delicous Japanese food! They serve the food fresh! Generous amount of servings and the service is great! The ambiance is clean and peaceful perfect to dine and chitchat with friends and family.
Friday payday dinner. I and my boyfriend weren't planning to eat here in the first place. We wanted to try a different dish in a different restaurant but since there were a lot of people, I suggested this place since I wanted to try something here and I haven't tried here yet. And to my surprise, it was my boyfriend's first time too to eat in Teriyaki Boy :) We were in the waiting list since the seats were occupied but we didn't wait that long. The place was cool and the ambiance was fine. The lighting is not too bright which gives you a calm feeling. I ordered California Roll and Tonkatsu while my boyfriend ordered Gyoza and Teriyaki Boy Chicken Ju. The California Roll was delicious and the mango was sweet. The Tonkatsu was just right since the pork was well-cooked and the rice was cooked right too. The cabbage salad was okay but I was kinda disappointed with the tomato slice because it was rotten in the middle (maybe they didn't notice but I didn't complain. I just didn't eat because it was not their intention to give me that slice of tomato) My boyfriend let me have a taste of his meal. The chicken ju was delicous. The sauce was sweet and I like the way the chicken was cooked, just right. However, the gyoza was a little oily but its taste was okay.
If you're going to ask me what would I recommend here, I would say you go for a Chicken Teriyaki + Yakimeshi Rice. Yakimeshi Rice is some sort of a japanese fried rice. While their Chicken Teriyaki is really the best that I've ever tasted. Well, I've been trying to compare it to other teriyaki that I ate from other japanese resto and no one can beat this.
Food in Teriyaki Boy is so Good... specialy the Okonomiyaki I love it so much . The Chicken teriyaki is also Good. Teriyaki Boy in Gateway Mall has it's nice location, it's overlooking the Araneta street food market.
Teriyaki Boy is, and will always be my favorite go-to Japanese restaurant. The Gateway branch is my favorite. The place is big enough to fit a lot of people. The servers and staff are always polite, nice and attentive. Teriyaki Boy's branches are always nice to dine in, and the food is always lovely and affordable.
I particularly love their Katsudon and Teriyaki Boy Chicken Ramen. I remember SM Marikina's chicken ramen, and it did not taste as good and consistent like the Gateway branch serves it. Lots of other great food here as well. :)
I love Japanese food, but there's something unique about Teriyaki Boy. Probably it's the addictive Philly Cheese Steak Roll that will change the way you look at maki rolls - to something better.
P.S.
The view at Teriyaki Boy Gateway is very instagram'able.
Pocket friendly prices as compared to Sumo Sam. Their gyoza is delicious. Katsudon was soft and yummy. Shrimp tempura always our favorite. Pretty gòod service as well. Great job!
We both love Japanese Food and Teriyaki Boy would be our default Japanese Resto for our quick Jap food fix. Menu favorites are the California Roll, Tamago Sashimi, Maguro Sashimi, Kani Salad, Gyuniku Teriyaki and their Tori Brown Rice. We frequent their Gateway Branch and their staff and crew are always prompt in attending to us.
A bit pricey-version of Tokyo-Tokyo and Karate Kid! :D Ate here twice already since we love eating Japanese food. I forgot what we ordered but compared to how their product tasted before, I think they're losing the quality. I mean, I like Tokyo Tokyo and Karate Kid more than Teriyaki Boy plus both are cheaper and tasted better (specific to what we ordered only). I don't know, maybe just this branch. But in a big serving though.
Good thing their staffs were very nice, they placed us in a big and comfortable couch (which is supposedly, for big groups).
I always love eating Japanese food but I was never the adventurous type of eater so I always opt to stick with my usual restaurant but I must admit that I missed half of my life not trying Teriyaki Boy.
My friends and I planned to dine out one for lunch on a Friday and since we wanted something different, we tried Teriyaki Boy at Gateway. The place was big and has this cozy feeling. We requested if we could be seated at the couches and luckily there's an available one. Once we got hold of the menu, we had a time selecting what to order.
We got their set menu which is P149 + P50 if you want to add the only miso soup and iced tea, a complete set already. The meal includes Miso Soup, Katsudon Rice Bowl and Iced Tea. We also added California Maki and Sashimi to add taste to our food. When our orders came, I must say it looked really good and enticing. The miso soup was hot that I will give two thumbs up for that, the taste was okay. The katsudon was huge and really yummy. I love how cooked the egg was and the tenderness of the pork was good. The iced tea was yummy and sweet. I love their california maki and how compact it was, you can eat it all without any piece falling apart. The Sashimi which I didn't taste looks really good and fresh. My friend ordered Miso Ramen as well as her main dish, which according to her, tasted really good.
The experience was good. The staff accommodated us with a friendly manner and they're very quick when customers need anything. The place was big enough and cozy like what I've mentioned a while ago and gives added feels to diners. Shell out cash for a decent meal starts at P200 for a decent meal.
* Price: 4/5
* Food 4/5
* Service 4/5
Tuna croquette plus the salad on the side is the best. Super love the Cali Maki too. Comfort food at it's best. The staff are not so attentive though. You have to keep trying to get their attention. :(
For me, any Japanese food is comforting; especially california maki. I’ve been craving for makis for quite some time so I asked my bestfriend to eat out in a Japanese restaurant.
We ordered California Rolls (Php139) since I am craving. I must say their california makis passed my expectations; although they don’t serve the best in town. Their makis was made perfectly with sweety and fishy taste because of the mangoes and crab sticks. They’re just comforting. I ate the whole serving! And yes, ordered another serving again -just to satisfy my cravings. However, on our second serving I shared it with my best bud now :p
My bestfriend ordered Chashu Ramen (Php165 – regular). My friend is a fan of their Gyuniku Ramen, but for a change he tried this one. He told me it tasted good. The soup stock (I believe it’s pork) used here brought out the flavor of the ramen. Noodles were cooked just right and the meat included was easy to tear off.
And lastly, we ordered Ebi Tempura (Php191 – 3pcs) They used fresh tiger prawns which is so soft and big in size. Their tempura was heavenly coated with Japanese panko and deep- fried into perfection. NOMNOMNOM! If only I’m not full at that moment, I will order more. :p
All in all, I am happy with the food we ate here at Teriyaki Boy. I think it is a good place to dine especially if you want to satisfy your Japanese food cravings.
