Go to place for palate burning goodness.
Pair it with their mashed potato or soup for only 70pesos.
If you don't want to smell like food being cooked, I suggest to get a seat far from pepper lunch.
This place is situated at the back side of gateway food court but you can smell the goodness from a far.
The food is tasty comes perfectly with the garlic sauce.
You can never go wrong with Pepper Lunch.
Order Beef Pepper Lunch. Ask them for a 'double the meat' upgrade. Get you some of their good miso soup.
I love their salmon too.
Situated at the very back end of the Gateway Food Court, this place is next to World Chicken and one of my favorite fast food teppanyaki places.
It has been 3 years ago since I last ate so I was nervous when I ordered their Jumbo Pepper Beef Rice with extra cheese. The sauces, a Honey-something and Soy Garlic were available to be filled in tiny cups along with chilli powder, coarse salt and pepper for extra flavor.
Needless to say, it still tasted amazing. Part of it was due to my ratio of sauces and spices. The food was nice, hot and the meat tender. The spring onions and corn gives a sweetness that contrasts with the savory flavor of the beef rice. The cheese kinda gives it texture and added flavor.
At first, I was not sure if they put enough beef but after mixing it up; I found the ratio of meat to rice was actually spot on.
Although the food is a bit oily because of the margarine, I am still in love with the taste of it after all these years. Their mashed potatoes which came as a side was nice, but nothing that eclipses the main dish.
Since it is at the food court, seating is not a problem unless it is the rush hours.
The service was fine, it does take time to prepare the food due to a lot of people ordering but nonetheless everyone was nice enough. It was enjoyable seeing how they assemble the food in front of you.
Already ate here twice and it was consistently delicious.
I always make a beeline for this everytime I land in Gateway's foodcourt.
Sometimes the plates are not that well heated for that gratifying sizzling sound and sometimes can get too oily but I still love it here.
Prices are slightly lower that those of Pepper Lunch restaurants but the taste is still ok and we love their sauces too.

Ordered:
Garlic Beef Pepper P168
Long lines as usual, but am pleased with my lunch. I ordered an additional teriyaki sauce (P25) which I then realized is not necessary since the sauce that goes with my order is more than enough to bring out the flavor of my sizzling beef. Thin slices of beef cooked delicately and it was lovely. And oh, got a discount of 10% off since I made my reservation via Eatigo. This foodie is winning in life.
Food Taste 9/10
Price 9/10
Service 8/10
Ambiance 7/10
We always come back here whenever we want. Yum! Yum! Yum! 😁😄
The only thing we dont like here is the location. It is located in the Food Court so whenever you leave the place you'll smell like.. You guess..
I always wanted to eat on sizzling plate but when i do i end up not finishing my food because of char. A friend recommend this and i was surprise because; 1. The food is great. A lot of combination of proteins and side dishes on the menu. 2. It does not create char on the plate/food. 3. The heat stays on. 4. Affordable price!
My salmon fix as always. The only downside is that the price varies if you eat at Pepper Lunch Express and the resto. Its cheaper at Express.
When Pepper Lunch first opened in Manila, the lines were incredibly long. However, the lines are more bearable now - usually 10 - 15 minutes waiting time before I get my dish (usually lunch hours). I really love eating here because I get to "cook" my own food! Of course, the Beef Pepper Rice does not disappoint - they serve a big serving of rice, corn, butter & beef! Yum!!
