This restaurant gets a bad rap for not keeping up with times. Obviously, the establishment is antiquated and in serious need of a renovation. It looks more like a carenderia these days than an actual restaurant -- like it used to be. One can't help but wonder why they can't even do an upgrade given that their food rate is higher than most of restos in Chinatown. They even charge more than President or UNO or Sa Lido. Now, when it comes to food, I should tell you they have the BEST in all of Chinatown. And trust me, I've tried most of them, if not all of them. What gives them a plus is that they are carrying Sun Wah or Wah Sun's menu. (Sun Wah or Wah Sun, in case you didn't know, was Ambos Mundos' sister restaurant back in the day. It was one of the best Chinese restos in all of Chinatown until it was closed by the BIR in 2014 apparently because of tax issues.) From its special fried rice to chopsuey to camaron rebosado to nido soup and sweet and sour fish, this resto has managed to keep their original recipes. And if you want the try the best, out-of-this-world lumpiang shanghai, you have to go here. I am still hoping they will renovate this restaurant. I promise to dine here regularly, like how my lolo used to eat here or take us here every Sat night back in the '90s. But I am hoping they will also upgrade. Because, really, this restaurant seriously needs an upgrade.

Don't expect 5-star ambience. But food is super good! A tad pricey for the overall setting, but we leave the place with very happy stomachs all the time.

We go back here for the callos and fried rice (chorizo). BEST CALLOS EVER. Honey chicken and bicol express (ampalaya+lots of pork) are good dishes too. Don't forget to ask for the chili. Get Sarsi for panulak!

Never tried paella, and the menu has never really invited me to do so.

This has been our family's favorite go to chinese take out. Their crab meat omelette, cashew and quail egg, cold pork asado cut and camaron rebusado. These are only a few of my family's all time favorite. Even my relatives from the US, whenever they come back for a visit they would always request. These all time favorites. Also one great thing about this restaurant is that they have these sauce sweet, sweet and spict and spicy. These sauce alone with rice if one of my guilty pleasure. To bad that the old one was closed and the other one was already torn down and was not kept properly. Still their food is one of the best.

If you still want to eat Filipino food, this is the place you should visit. Best Paella ever, Filipino food with Spanish hits of herbs. Or most of the food here have twist of Spanish.

This has been my childhood. My family always bought take out food from this place. I love their crab omelette, camaron rebusado, cold cuts, and cashew menudencia just to name a few. Their side sauce are also a gem, the chili sauce, sweet sauce and asado sauce. Its home made dishes at its finest. I would give it a rating of 5.0 except when i recently visited the restaurant the place needs a lot of clean up. especially the toilets. Still I would definitely comeback.

You must try their pata hamon... it's very tasty. And their paella dishes. Though they did improve on their physical appearance, most of their dishes are still the same, really worth trying. I've been going here since I was 7 and til now i still do but with my family.

The Food was very excellent and the old world charm adds appeal to gastronomic excitement,at first me and my brother was hesitant to go to this restaurant due to its not so good location at the heart of downtown Manila, but its title as the Philippines oldest restaurant is indeed hard to decline so we decided to try, we try their speciality the Paella, we prefer the Paella Manileña their variant that is the Paella with seafood only and without pork (the other variety is the Paella Ambos Mundos with pork already), we can feel the freshness of the ingredients while we are already eating and its savory taste is worth coming back..we thought we will order again but the Paella had make us full already...we promise to comeback to this place..my only comment is their exotic fish aquarium are not good for sensitive nose its kinda smelly you can see that near the restroom and affects your enjoyment of their nice food like what i experienced
