If you're looking for affordable and inexpensive home-cooked meals, this place is a must try. Of course, you don't expect a grand space inside considering that it is not fine dining and food are priced for those who are on a budget. Loved their kare-kare and their bagoong pairing. Not a fan of their bulalo though. Hope they improve its broth, put more flavor into it because it tastes very ordinary. It needs to be richer and more fatty. Jek's is my go to place whenever I feel like bingeing and esp when I miss meals from home.
The bulalo was delicious. Fried tawilis was crispy. Beef broccoli had nice flavors. I just wished for the seats to be more comfortable and spacious. Value for the money.
A bit pricey yet the place is crowded. So-so as it'll be a haven for a quick fix since the service is fast. I love the Buko Shake though at P30 a cup.
Perfect for a rainy weather! At kung sabaw ang hanap nyo, I recommend their specialty Bulalo & Ulo-ulo ng salmon. 150 for Bulalo and 140 for Ulo-ulo. Sobrang sulit!! Masarap na nakakabusog pa. They give big servings in a bowl. They also serve other meals and shakes for drinks. The place is small, but they have tables outside. Well, don't judge the food kht hindi sobrang attractive nung place. They serve it hot and delicious!!!
We tried the very famous street for food lovers, the Maginhawa Street, And we cameby to Jek's Kubo, because my lola is craving for bulalo ❤️
Ambiance was good, It's a very unique restaurant inside a house, just like a garage restau.
Food was great and very cheap, I would like to go back here, but I heard It's not there anymore 💔 I hope I can see it again.
It was late dinner for us when we visited jeks and there's still a lot of people eating, luckily, there's one last vacant table. We ordered their bulalo, they it's good for 2 but it's not. Yes, it's big for one serving but not for two. Anyway, their bulalo are delicious, tasty and the beef are so tender. we also ordered their salpicao but it's too salty, they may mistakenly throw salt in it 😁 Service is ok , waiters and the owner itself are all smiles! I will definitely go back to have more of their bulalos 😋
so far, one of the best bulalo we've tasted :) tho they were about to close the owner still allowed us to have our dinner :) two thumbs up!
First time in Maginhawa St. Unfortunately this is the only open that day when in fact it's a holiday. I love the sisig but the bulalo is literal na puro sebo.
We ate here twice already, and we will surely be back! Everything was delicious! Reminded me of my mom in law's cooking! 😊
My favorite, other than their bulalo and sinigang and ulo, is their pochero! Cooked bulacan style, with tomato sauce. Makes me hungry just thinking about it 😊
yes, I'm giving this place a 5/5.
situated along the streets of maginhawa, this place tries to incorporate old school food with modern day feel.
This was my first time eating here and partners 2nd or 3rd (he doesn't remember)... of course we ordered the bulalo since it's what we came here for... we added the sisig as an additional option just in case the bulalo was a fail.
the bulalo was great... not as amazing as other bulalos that I've tried but it was well worth your buck.
the sisig on the other hand... is a completely different story. I don't know how to describe it but it was AHHHHHmazing. It didn't have the grand presentation that other sisig houses have, but the taste was way more than enough to make for it.
truth be told, I enjoyed the sisig more than the bulalo.
order 3 rice... you'll need that many to make sure that you enjoy the sisig.... oh yeah, and the bulalo to it's full extent.
