Shinsen was true to its name... Fresh! Flavors are pure, nothin’ fancy just all authentic. Their food roster is quite overwhelming so a whole lot of reasons to keep comin’ back. So loved the Katsu Curry, no qualms & very generous flavors while the Tuna Teriyakidon was likewise a homerun but the best if ‘em all? That mean club of Japanese Cheesecake! That is one helluva a treat! Service was superb, staff were always in point & proactive - loved the bottomless rice tea!
Am fr the South but always worth it & pleasure to drive up here just to fill up the foodie tank. Great job Shinsen! Comin’ back for more!

For the past few years, a lot of Japanese restaurants have cropped up within Metro Manila. Some are legit, while others compromise on flavor and the freshness of their ingredients. Shinsen falls on the first category: simply put, this place is legit.
Situated along C. Raymundo in Pasig, this unassuming sushi bar can accommodate about 30-40 people; not too crowded, but the space between tables is just close enough for comfort. The kitchen is enclosed with a glass window so that you can see how the food is prepared. This is great for kids who like to watch while waiting for their meal.
One item that stands out in the menu is their salmon sashimi. It was so fresh, you'd think it was caught that same day (I believe they get their salmon from abroad). Add some soy sauce with a dash of wasabi and you'll be in sashimi heaven.
Their cooked dishes are also a must try. I highly recommend the seafood teppan and the Kari Kariyaku.
To cap off our meal, we tried their Japanese Panna Cotta. I wish I could describe the taste, but words won't do it any justice. Needless to say, I would get seconds and thirds of this concoction on my next visit.
Overall, I have nothing but high praises for this restaurant. Hoping and praying that they'll open more branches around the metro.
