I was pleasantly surprised with the cheese tart and red bean bun at Mr Park. While the appearance may be left wanting, the red bean bun was quite soft and the filling tasted good. Usually red bean leaves a strong beany aftertaste but not this one. The only thing I didn't like is that it gets squished easily and looks quite flat.

The cheese tart is good too! Just the right hint of cream cheese and sweetness. I couldn't help but eat two.

I will definitely come back and try the other pastries.

Pros:

The ambience is accomodating and relaxing, and it's perfect to have a meal in peace, or have a conversation without the need to shout due to loud music or noisy customers.

There are enough tables, chairs, and sofas to accomodate a decent number of customers.

My all-time favorite is their chicken tortilla at PHP136 (best if cold) and their banana cake at PHP98 (best if warm), which is well worth the price and more than enough for 2 or even 3. I have yet to try their cakes which look great.

Cons:

Their mini burgers and any of their other sandwiches because have either pineapple inside or too many sauces and are too sweet.

As soon as you enter and approach the middle area where the bread is displayed, a waiter or waitress will start following you with a tray even though you tell him/her that you can do it yourself or that there's no need, and it's annoying. They won't stop following you until you pick an item, that is unless you really insist and take the tray yourself.

Service:

Overall their service is good, although it would be better if a waiter/waitress were assigned to keep an eye on the customers that are dining in, in case they might need something. (I'm saying this because, yes, they follow you and try to assist you as soon as you enter, but once you get served and everybody is seated, the waiters/waitresses all stay behind the counter chatting and laughing, until they hear someone coming in or calling out their attention).

Will I come back?

I'll surely keep coming back for their chicken tortilla (although unfortunately not always available) and their banana cake, and for the ambiance.

This place is my official "tambayan" in Ortigas. You can simply relax here and have some good tea or coffee with their great and quality breads and pastries.

Staff are polite and very assistive. The place is clean and comfortable. The music isn't too loud.

The cafe mocha is very delectable. The temperature isn't boiling hot so you can drink it as served. They also serve one of the true-to-the-original ddeokbokki.

Will definitely come by again when I'm around the area.

Since I'm too early for my meeting. I then look a place to stay and do my work. I super love breads and pastries btw so I decided to have my breakfast at Mr. Park's while working.

Here's my review. 👇

•Other Notes:
- Open 24/7
- Free Wifi
- Accepting Senior Citizen - disc card

•Menu Quality: Taste/Smell/Appearance.
- Most of their Coffees are tasty and has good design on it
- All of the breads and Pastries I've tried were all delicious and fresh
- 20-30% off for breads from yesterday
- They have super cute macaroon and designed seasonal cakes!
- They served freshly made rice topings

•Service & Staff:
- Filipino staff there were polite
- They even helped me on charging my drained laptop to their counter. 😊👍🏻

•Ambiance:
- Very big, quiet and relaxing place even without background music.
- Great lighting and wall murals and decors.

•Interior:
- Overall, it kinda looks Korean pastry shop and its nice.

•Hygiene:
- The place is very clean. No electrical sockets on tables
- The Comfort Room were clean but with some Big Note on the wall regarding Spy Camera issue clearance which makes feel kinda creepy. Haha!

•Price is pricey but taste good! 👍

Dont get yourself pressured when you come here for the first time and a staff immmediately follows you around with a tong and a basket😂 yeap they assist you with your orders. (And no the pastries are not that heavy. Lol)

The place is nice. I mostly see koreans hanging around. On weekends they have this tutoring/study sessions for their kids so the place can be a bit crowded.

The food is good. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Love the place! Plus its 24hrs! good place to study apart from your usually coffee shops.

Mr. Park's Bread & Cake is a cozy Korean-style and owned cafe/bakery located at the ground floor of Eton Emerald Lofts, in the corner of Emerald Avenue (now F. Ortigas Jr. Road) and Garnet Road. After I had a late ramen lunch at Sopoong Food House, I just crossed the street because Mr. Park's could easily be seen from there.

I was a bit disappointed because Sopoong did not have any toasts available at the time. Bingsu? It was too cold for that. Luckily, there was Mr. Park's to satisfy my cravings for sweet breads and pastries, coupled with a good up of good coffee.

The area was nicely lit, seats were comfortable, and it also had a free Wi-Fi connection.

Mr. Park's -- at least this branch -- is also known for its super-friendly staff. They would give me recommendations as I was looking at their mouthwatering cakes and pastries, both savory and sweet. They seemed quite knowledgeable about baked goods. They were following me around as I moved from one place from another, while browsing at the cakes and pastries. The knowledge that someone was behind you while you were looking at their stuff and was trying to decide what to choose -- that was kind of unnerving. But I could otherwise tolerate that and I even had a small chit-chat with one of the crew members. Hahaha. 😁

This particular part of Ortigas Center is like a little Koreatown of sorts. So naturally, South Korean nationals frequent this place. So while I was inside the cafe I felt like I was in a K-Drama -- ung eksenang magkikita sila sa isang coffee shop para mag-usap ng masinsinan.  Hahahaha.

What I had for dine-in:
💠 Blueberry pastry (₱76) - Nice and flaky. Filling-to-pastry ratio was just right and even.

💠 Americano, hot, strong (₱100) -- kala mo kung sinong Amerikanong "hot" and "strong." Yun pala kape. HAHAHAHA. 😂

For take out:
💠 Macarons (₱58 each -- they had a buy-two-take-one macaron promo) - I chose two Green Tea's and one chocolate. I tried the green tea. I was a bit disappointed because I was looking for the strong, earthy, grassy matcha/green tea flavor. This Green Tea macaron, however, was just sweet. It only had a miniscule hint of the green tea.

💠 Nunetine (₱45) - I was curious about this long bar of pastry. I did not remember exactly what the crew member said, but she mentioned caramel. So I bought it. It was a puff pastry stick with a caramel flavor. I tried this at home with my coffee. It was good and had a nice bite. It had the characteristic diamond patterns on its crust. I forgot to take a picture of it on its entirety, as I have already eaten almost half of it hehehehe.

Because of the free Wi-Fi, I lingered there longer than I expected. It also makes a perfect place for business meetings and for studying. In fact, I was beside two Korean girls who seemed to be reviewing together for an exam or doing their assignments.

CCTV INSIDE THE RESTROOM?

The establishment had a nice-looking restroom, but the lighting was dim.

When I saw the laminated copy of the CCTV inspection "certification" on the restroom wall, I panicked a bit 😨 and looked around if there was any hidden camera before relieving myself. But beside the certification is a clarification (written in both Tagalog and Korean) which put an end to the rumors that there was a CCTV camera hidden inside their restroom. It implied that it was all a fabrication meant to ruin their reputation. I didn't know who spread the rumor or why there was such a rumor, but the thing was it really made me into a nervous wreck hahahaha.  😅

Other than that, it was a good first experience a Mr. Park's Bread & Cake. I wasn't able to take pictures of their cakes, but when I come back I will try their most recommended flavors such as Nutella cheesecake and sweet potato cake.

It also serves meals like cream soup, pasta, and savory rice cakes like tteokbokki as well as bingsu's, frappes, ades and teas. They have an interesting selection of pastries so my first experience here warrants another visit.

Big fan of this establishment. While their quality in most branches are consistent, this Ortigas branch has the friendliest staff.

The Giant Croquette is the bomb. It's basically a deep fried salad pocket but not too oily.
