Masil in Oranbo is worth all the good reviews.
Menu.... there are some pricey items but you could stick to reasonably priced dishes like the Sam Gyeop Sal (Pork Belly Php330), Dwaeji gakbi (Pork ribs in sweet marinade Php400) and Masil Bulgogi (Beef brisket in sweet marinade Php490).
Yes, you have to get 2 grilled meats at least to enjoy the charcoal grill. I would recommend getting an order per person.
Their banchan (side dishes) are all good and compliments each other. Word of caution, they would only refill once.
Good thing is that they also give you free Steamed Eggs and a Kimchi-based soup (a little too spicy for my mom but balances well with the steamed eggs).
There's a lot of parking space but it gets really full so you could opt to park on the street on evenings when the street is not busy.
Galbi jim and the korean pancake are my favorites! Their watercress is also very tasty. Servers are attentive and friendly. Meats were freshly served and I enjoyed their korean perillo leaves
We’ve been to all sorts of Korean restaurants around the metro and Masil is the best of the lot. Delicious food and great service plus reasonably priced. Go for the bulgogi and pork belly if you do the grill. Best pajeon!
The place is always full whenever we try going here so we decided to attend the 9am CCF service and have brunch here. And yes, the food was amazing. I will definitely go back here.
Still one of our family's favorite korean resto :) Price has increased slightly over the years but it's all good. You get good food for a fair price. :)
Food is good as well as the service. Food is freshly served. Ambiance is fair. Though I personally think the place can be improved or consider renovation. The parking place should also be improved as space is a bit limited for cars to maneuver and needs more lighting esp. at night.

Their Samgyeopsal is very thick and they’ve got authentic tasting side dishes. I just hoped they would have unlimited meat or at least an extra serving because one doesn’t suffice. The price of one is a little bit too much.
I think everyone can agree that there are so many Korean restaurants in Metro Manila, it’s kind of hard to choose where to go. As a fan of Korean cuisine (#bibimbapforevah), I have to admit, this is one of the best Korean restos I’ve been to so far since I’ve lived here (there’s a hidden gem in BF Homes—I forgot the name!).
We were a group of 6 and ordered the premium set b (which in all honesty is really only good for 5 people unless you’re light eaters). The side dishes were okay and normal like other Korean restos. The main dishes, like the meat, was flavorful (marinated or not) and tender. I think this was my favorite. The japchae was delicious and not too oily. We ordered the nengmyun noodles TWICE (it was that good). And had 6 bottles of Sake (grapefruit flavor).
It is a bit pricey but there are other items that are affordable. I still have yet to try Yedang (which others say is comparable to Masil but cheaper) but other than the slightly pricey items, I think it’s worth it for special occasions.
masil goes for quality over quantity with their korean barbecue. it’s not the place to stuff you like unli samgyup would but its meats are definitely tastier and better quality.
masil greets you with a handful of banchan which are each refillable twice.
our go to is premium set b which has fresh short ribs, 2 kinds of marinated short ribs, japchae and beef stew which is a must order (the beef stew is the best in town) it also comes with steamed egg, kimchi soup and 4 cups of rice.
masil is consistent with their food and it has kept me coming back with both friends and family.

one of the Best korean resto in Pasig area. definitely be goin back again here. just expect heavy traffic in the area, best time to go there is 6pm.before dinner.
Our go-to Korean bbq place. We got the Premium Set B which included our must-orders - Saeng Galbi and Yangnyeom Galbi. I honestly think that the serving is a bit small (for my appetite) hence pricey, but the smokey taste and quality is worth it. I also enjoyed their Bibim Naengmyeon, Hameul Pajeon, and Sundubu Jjigae. Their perilla leaves and pickled radish are a plus for me since not all korean bbq restaurants serve them.
Very good quality Korean food. The meat is very tender. The KalgbiJjim is great -- a must order! The staff were also very attentive. Will definitely come back!
Been here several times for family celebrations, particularly craving for korean cuisine. The food is always good and they have a nice selection of appetizers. The kimchi is always great and their group set menus are varied and offer generous servings. Staff are always attentive even though the tables are full. Parking is not much a problem since they have a wide front lot that can accommodate several cars at a time.
Ate with my family here and had the Masil Set A (and B later on). I’ve been to plenty Korean BBQ places and this one takes the cake!! The meat and the vegetables that came with the set were so fresh and juicy! The taste was excellent. The exhaust is one of the things that make or break a BBQ experience and this place didn’t make us smell like food the minute we left which was great! Definitely going back soon.
With so many korean restaurants to choose from, I must say Masil is still on the top of my list. Always had great dining experience because of the quality of food, service and the nice ambience of the place. Also, they offer really good tea that is free!
Ive passed by this resto for years and was finally got to try it when the kfood craving hit. Like many have said, food is good, service is prompt. Dessert is limited to melona branded ice cream so get your fix somewhere else. Price is not cheap but fairly reasonable. Come before the crowds pack the place and parking becomes full.
Masil Korean Bbq restaurant is like an institution since a lot of famous celebrities personalities have dined here.
Location is great, has a huge parking space so you dont have to worry.
Restaurant is spacious, good for family get together or barkada.
I was kind of disappointed when they said that the Banchan or the Side Dishes are only being refilled “Twice” like we are four people that ate there. So that’s a little bit off for me. As filipinos we are also looking for experience and good food. I hope they can consider to change this. Imagine wanting to eat samgyupsal and lettuce are only refilled twice and your a group of four people. 😑
As per the meat and food i’ll give them 5 stars 👊🏻
We have ordered premium set B which is quite a handful
-3 different kinds of meat to br grilled
-korean beef stew
-kimchi based soup
-jhapchae
-steam egg
-4 rice
Will i go back, yes 👍🏻
For many years now, Masil has been one of the go to restos for korean food here in manila and for good reason. This place has been consistent with their meals and the food prices are also very reasonable. Must eat if you’re craving for authentic korean dishes!
It's only now that I'm doing a review. Been here about 2 or 3 years ago for my cousin's bday. They have variety of side dishes for their ban chan, that's a plus. I remember enjoying their samgyupsal with soju. I hope they put up a place near Mall of Asia as well. This place is kinda popular sa mga celebrities I guess. Kim Chu, Xian Lim and Ara Mina were there dining as well that time.
Definitely an experience for Korean food lovers like me! Staff was very accommodating. Meat was cooked according to our liking. Abundant serving of variant side dishes. I also enjoyed their beef stew and japchae. I will surely come back again.
Masil is our go-to for most of our korean cravings..
We've always been early to get a nice spot for parking and of course a table outside for our loud chats.
Service is good espc when they have less customers, I have all the attention in me haha like a real boss.
Place is clean and neat, not too fancy like others, and has the authentic korean vibe.
I think we've already ordered practically everything on the menu and we've love every single order and food that was serve.
I personally love their plum juice and house tea, budae jigae and gamjatang are always in our table, and all the sides except pickled lol.
Love this place, make me feel like a real oppa (JOKE)
The BEST KOREAN BARBECUE IN METRO MANILA. 💖 Masil has the most authentic meat, dips, and side dishes I’ve tried. It’s a bit pricey tho, but you’ll get your money’s worth. I swear.
From the kimchi chigae to the chadol baggi, everything is absolutely fantastic. Service is decent, and the outdoor dining in the evening gives the dining experience an authentic feel.
The best Korean restaurant i’ve ever been to!! I thought people were just exaggerating about this place ‘cause celebrities have been here before, but damn this place is legit!! Their food is authentic, they have a parking lot, the place is great. Everything is perfect. It’s worth every penny 😋
We ordered Masil Set B, Galbitang, and a Seol Jungmae. Their sides are refillable for two times.
Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm a fan of Korean food!! This place is kind of hard to find but Atleast they have a good parking space. Their side dishes are the bombbbbb! Service wise and food wise, this is way better than any other Korean resto.
The best korean restaurant in the metro! Ang hirap mag hanap ng charcoal grill restaurant, and it's the nearest samin from antipolo! Hope to see Kimbap in your menu soon! 😇😍
I was worth the wait after waiting in line for 45 mins.. Quality of food and meat was really good. Shout out to our server Amica who was able to inform us of tbe what we are getting in their set menu. Staff will grill the meat for you unlike the ones in the other restos this place has enough staff to make sure you will not be the one grilling.. Parking is always full but with the coordination they have with barangays they will make you will the slot.. Of Course I am coming back and try weekdays instead..
One of the best korean bbq places in the metro. Loved the Masil Bulgogi and the free egg soup. Also, kudos for having korean ice cream for dessert.
However, the samgyeopsal was a let down as I prefer thinner cuts.
My friend has been here before so we didn't get lost on our way there, but if you haven't been to Masil before nor not used to being in Pasig, then I suggest using waze/google maps for you might get lost. Anyway, we were greeted by a Korean server who might be running the restaurant, unsure. The overall ambience is great. Haven't been to Korea before nor know much about them, but I don't think any decorations about Korea is highly exhibited there. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Ordered ASAP. Our server was okay, he wasn't energetic and he seemed a little moody. We were a group of 5 and ordered LA golbi, beef brisket, and pork. They gave us sides which was actually good, and although it seemed plenty, it looked like there was only 1 each. Ex. Kimchi, it was too small and it was only 1 plate unlike other KBBQ restaurants that serve for all. Going back to what we ordered, the server cooked it for us. Was bummed because I thought we can cook it for ourselves but no, but it's also a good thing since they're making sure it is cooked at the right temperature. The LA golbi tasted SO good! Although it is much more expensive than the rest, it tasted wonderfully. The flavor was there, it was so good we ordered one more. Next, beef brisket. To be quite honest, I didn't like it. It was bland, it tasted flavor. But I assume that there's a sauce for a reason, but either way it was just wayy more bland than the LA golbi. No wonder why it had a cheaper price than the rest. Lastly, the pork. It was okay. Not too bad nor not too excellent, still good.
Will i go back? Maybe. It's just way too expensive than other KBBQ restaurants.
Masil is my favorite Korean restaurant for all the right reasons.
Jjap Chae is the best in the business -- you feel the weight of the potato noodle without the rubbery texture usually served in other restaurants.
Samgyupsal is perfect -- have the waiter cook it for you so you don't mess up a fine piece of meat. We also got some marinated meats.
Complimentary egg souffle thingy (haha so not into Korean food, can you tell?) and a bowl of that tom yum looking soup with tofu (which is as good as I am clueless what it is called)!
Sides are refillable 2x.
Authenticity 5/5
Ambiance 5/5
Cleanliness 5/5
Taste 5/5
Serving Size 5/5
+ points for Korean ice cream
And there's a lot of parking too!
We didn't get the chance to sit inside the air-conditioned room, so we stayed outside. It was pretty hot. I wish there was better ventilation. Nevertheless, it was an awesome experience to eat authentic Korean food. 👌 Staff are very friendly, too.
I celebrated my birthday here. The service was nice and very responsive. The ambience is very comfortable. Their food is quite pricey but you get what you pay for. They have authentic and quality food so I would definitely recommend this place to anyone craving a Korean cuisine.
After watching all those mouthwatering eating scenes from kdramas, this restaurant is the perfect place to visit.
The place is not easy to spot. But, let's just say it's like a hidden treasure. Waze exists anyway.
The menu is impressive and the staff are very accommodating. Some staff helped us with the grilling. Moreover, the quality of the food is great!
Be ready to spend handsomely 'though since this is not a cheap restaurant. My boyfriend and I spent more than three thousand when we visited.
Definitely the best Korean restau in the Metro that I've tried! Every cent was worth it! Meat, rice, sauce, side dishes (they made me addicted to dilis and radish), service, and ambiance! ❤ I saw Ryan Bang here as well, the food must be so-korean for him to try this restau out!
We discovered this place because of our samgyeupsal cravingssssss. We're just around Pasig at the time and Google "samgyeupsal around Pasig". The restaurant came and without hesitation we go there. The dining experience was great, the food and the price is generous enough and I could say that this place was visited by lots of local artists here in the PH and was recommended by Ryan Bang as well. We also saw Kim Chiu and Xian Lim together tonight! All in all. The place, food and menu is great!
I've been hearing a lot of good reviews from this restaurant so I was excited when me and my aunt decided to have lunch here. You should use a navigation app when finding the place, and we were happy on how huge their parking lot is. The customers were starting to fill out the restaurant since it's Sunday.
We ordered Chadol-bagi and Sam gyeop sal
. They also have the usual appetizers served in any authentic restaurants which are refillable.
Chadol-bagi (390php) - thinly sliced beef brisket. I liked how you could tell that the beef was fresh; Sam gyeop sal (330php) - Thickly sliced pork belly. I am always a fan of pork belly and this pork belly didn't disappoint. Both the pork belly and the beef belly really go well with their lettuce and kimchi.
We really had a great experience in dining in this restaurant and would come back if ever I craved and want a nice sam gyeop sal or Chadol-bagi.
I recently just started going to korean bbq places after i got addicted to watching korean drama series and I must say, this is the best I've been to so far. Pretty close to what I had in Korea. I barely know the names of the food i had but everything they served was delicious! Definitely going back and recommending to friends and family.
The place is clean, staff are friendly, and they offer authentic Korean food. No wonder local celebrities, Korean families, and Pinoy families choose Masil for their Korean quick fix.
Had dinner here last Friday & everthing was great, dare I say perfect! We came in for an early dinner, a little after 6pm and boy were we glad we did. The place was already half full when we got there and there were a couple of people waiting when we left. Food was really great & served/prepped quickly. We especially liked the beef bulgogi & the pink pickled radish & kimchi in their banchan. We kept wishing we skipped lunch that day so we could eat more. Hahaha! & the service was excellent. Shout out to our server, Lorraine. Will definitely come back for more, maybe even this weekend :-)
Nice place, good food and serving size just enough. spacious dining area. Adequate parking space. The korean owner is around to oversee the operations.
This is a highly recommended Koeran restaurant tucked in the side street of Oranbo, Pasig. The place has ample parking and has air-conditioned and open air sections. Service is good and the staff will cook the food for you. The raspberry(?) tea is free but you have to get it from a dispenser. However, the appetizers (which Korean restaurants are noted for) are free and you can ask for a second round.
Recommended food to order are: dolsot bibimbap, galbi (Korean beef stew) sangyupsal, and my personal favorite, yukhoe. Yukhoe is seasoned raw beef that is very tender and has turnips/pears, raw garlic and is serve with a raw egg on top of the beef.
Masil is my new favorite Korean restaurant because of the quality and taste of the food being served at a very reasonable price.
happy to find an authentic korean bbq place near our house! went there on sunday so the place can get really packed. since its korean bbq grill, the place can get a bit hot and you will most likely smell like samgyeopsal after. we ordered the premium set a: usda rib eye, boneless short ribs, beef top blade steak, korean style pancake, spicy tofu soup and lots of side dishes. it's perfect for group meals either with family or friends.
very good food, definitely worth the price! very suited for family meals. There was a variety of food on the menu, and a lot of condiments and side dishes were given to suit the customers' taste.
One of the better Korean barbecue places I've been to recently. Their appetizers are quite good, the salad is nice as well as the steamed egg and bean paste stew that comes with it. Their marinated beef seems to be the better items on the menu. Their marinated short ribs, bulgogi, and their sliced marinated short ribs were the best things that we had. Their marinated pork is so so, I would just stick to the beef. Their spicy beef stew may be the best item on the menu, definitely something one must order. Their seafood pancake was very solid, definitely better than most. A nice touch is they have a dispenser out front where you can get coffee or peach black tea.
All in all, you get good value for your money here, and it's hard to go wrong with anything you order. Definitely worth repeat visits.
Best Korean Meal so far! My second time here, so its not a fluke. Order the Chadol-Bagi (USDA thinly sliced brisket) and Dak Bulgogi (Marinated Chicken Thigh Fillets). They let you cook the food on the table and give you a ton of sides (make sure to ask for the fluffy egg side) if you order two grill items. Wash everything down with Chumchurum. Excellent service and definitely value for money!
Such a family friendly Korean restaurant! They have a huge parking lot and decorations that invites you to stay and enjoy eating. I particularly liked the fact that it wasn't smokey inside, one thing that I hate when eating samgyupsal.
The food is REALLY GOOD. The meat is soft and chewy, sides were tasty and didn't taste old, rice was soft and their water even tasted different(ly good)!
The servers are very accommodating and they have korean ice cream too. So you can walk out happy! :)
Legit Korean Barbecue!!with good ambiance especially outdoors. Generous serving for their sides plus their meat was fabulous!!worth it!!Service is good!Attendants were the one cooking our meat 😊 We will definitely go back here. Nice place to chill amd eat. 😎
We love this place. We have been back 3 times within the first 2 weeks of November and continuously enjoy the quality of food and service they offer.
Our favorites are the Galbi's particularly the La Galbi and the Samgyeopsal. Heck, even the side dishes tasted great. No wonder why this place is packed with Korean nationals even on a late night weekday. Parking is also not a problem as they have a huge parking space inside which is exclusive for the restaurant guests.
The only downside to this place, is sometimes it gets too hot despite the air-conditioning when most of the tables are grilling. Doesn't stop us from going though.

Last saturday, i treated my brother and my girlfriend to lunch at Masil. My girlfriend said that this was one of her favorite restaurants and she's always wanted for us to eat there.
Masil is a korean barbecue restaurant tucked away near the entrance arch of Oranbo, Pasig near the Valle Verde Country Club. We ordered their Masil Set A. It costs around 2400 and was just right for the three of us with second refills. The meat was cooked just right and i really like their side dish selections. The eye-opener dish for me was the Yukhoe. That's the picture of the big, flower-like dish. It's beef sashimi in essence. It's julienned raw meat with egg and garlic and korean pear. I was a bit apprehensive at first because it was raw meat but it was quite good and I'm still perfectly alright as of this writing two days later so that's a definite must try.
We will definitely come back here next time. I want to check out their ala carte items next.
Masil is tucked in a obscure alley just a stone throw away from capital commons pasig. Reservation is highly recommended. Upon entering you notice majority of clients are Korean family brings comfort that thier food is authentic Korean. Place decorations very simple but tidy. Servers are courteous fast friendly and efficient. Food price moderate leaning to high side. We order 2400 set menu for 4 even were only 3 persons. Side dishes are tasty and delicious. Sad to say refilling of side dishes are half hearted and slow reluctance. Even lettuce for wrapping of meat grills are limited 3 refills with diminishing quantities. Pajeon was delicious. Steamed egg fluffy soft. Kimchi is spicy sour . Grill meats are tasty awesome though lacking in quantities to satisfy. Bean soup is spicy and warm tummy . Raw beef with sesami oil are exotic must tries.
I think this is one of the best, but sadly extremely underrated Korean restaurants within the Metro.
I have nothing bad to say about the restaurant, (besides the bathroom maybe?). Taste of food is exquisite, proportions are reasonable, and service is superb. You get a dedicated server per table as permitted by availability of staff and they immediately attend to your needs.
Masil has set the bar high for me for Korean cuisine, and I even liked it better than most restaurants I tried in Korea 👌🏼👍🏼
Food was delicious... I was expecting a nicer restaurant. You go here for the food... It's fantastic! It;s real Korean and the quality of food is wonderful.
Driving around during this lazy holiday, we chanced upon this restaurant. We checked the reviews and we were suprised to see very good ratings. So we were excited to try this and we were not disappointed. We got 2 beef orders (galbi and chadol). They use charcoal but they use different grill for different meats. The beef were soft and tender. The chadol was great to dip in their sesame oil while the galbi was marinated well to give it its distinct taste. I definitely consider this as one of the best Korean restaurants I have been to and will definitely be back for more.
This is my favorite go-to restaurant when I'm craving for authentic korean food. Price wise it's in the higher range however you get to eat quality and delicious korean food. The parking space is spacious and there is a smoking and non smoking area as well. My top orders are sundubu jjigae and chadol-bagi.
The best Korean restaurants I've ever been to. This is our go-to Korean restaurant. We've celebrated a lot of special occasions here. No problems in terms of parking or the place being crowded since we've always been here during Lunch hour. But it wouldn't hurt to make a reservation just in case.
The food is of best quality and it shows in the taste, texture and appearance of the food. Service is great. The place is nice. I highly recommend this resto for your Korean cravings.
Prices are comparable to other Korean restaurants in Metro Manila. This is a hidden gem in the Metro.
With the ubiquity of Korean restaurants in the Metro, the challenge of finding the perfect one to dine in increases.
WHY MASIL?
1) Appetizers are bountiful and by that we mean UNLIMITED. Kimchi, fried peanuts, spinach, lettuce, steamed tofu, anchovies, and a green salad with a banana-like dressing.
2) When you order from their charcoal grilled menu, more side dishes are added to your table: radish wrap, spicy tofu soup, and a steamed egg soup.
3) Their charcoal-grilled beef are to die for. Cooked in front of you to your liking.
The Masil Bulgogi hits the sweet spot while maintaining its savoury power.
The Sam gyeop sal -- a best seller -- was cooked at a perfect consistency. Flavoring was naturally done; salt and pepper.
4) Who doesn't love Japchae? Masil's japchae is less sweet: a homage to the noodle's original roots.
5) Bright, homey ambiance with the friendliest staff, what more can you ask for?
DND is definitely coming back to try their other dishes. 안녕

Truly a hidden resto in Pasig City situated near its motel zone that you would'nt expect that there is such a nice korean resto which offers one of the best korean food in the metropolis... The food are clean and lightly marinated but upon cooking it on the charcoal grill the natural taste will be enhanced. Enjoy #goodfood #goodmeat with good friends or special someone... Massiseyo

One of the best places for korean food in the metro. Good quality meat, banchan, and service.
What i personally like with this place is they give you free side orders when you order their main dishes. Today we got steamed egg and spicy tofu soup for ordering three kinds of meats - and thats on top of the appetizers that we got.
Ticking this already out of my go to restaurants. It's the highest rater in Zomato and I chose to celebrate my birthday eve here.
Parking was available but could easily fill up with their regular Korean patrons. Around half of the diners are Koreans. That was definitely a great sign.
Their free side dishes were most I've witnessed and you can have them refilled. Get more of the homemade Kimchi, spinach, sweet potato and the boiling scrambled eggs.
We opted for grilled and got one type of meat each. The beef we had was really soft and tender. It was also infused with sweet spice. The Chicken Barbecue had its usual Korean taste.
I was hoping I wasn't full coming here. I would
have enjoyed more options. Service here is up and about. They also don't mind cooking all the meat for us.
I'm a big fan of korean food. It gives me happy vibe eating their grilled meat with a loooot of aide dishes.
1. Food is good. Taste is a bit authentic and the size is good for 2 people. Side dishes are very tasty and yummy. All side dishes are refillable. Meat was soft and tasty.
2. Price is just the same in any other authentic korean restaurants. Serving size is just right.
3. Service was good. They will cook everything for you and attentive to your needs.
Masil is a must try for all korean food lovers!
This is hands down the best Korean Restaurant in the North.
Food is pretty authentic and the price is reasonable.
They give just the right amount of appetizer and its flavorful.
Fact, you know a Korean restaurant is legit when they serve you stew for free.
This place has very good BBQ and the cold noodles is pretty awesome just like back home.
Very good place to take your family!
Tried it here because I saw its reviews were really good and a 4.9 graded place deserves a try, does it not?
We ordered the following:
Yangnyeom Galbi - 5/5
Marinate flavor was good. It was sweet and juicy and tender.
Sundubu Jigae - 5/5
Just the right thickness and richness and so spicy!! 😍
Galbi Jim - 5/5
One of the best Korean Beef Stews!!!!
Chadol- bagi - 3/5
So - so
Pajeon - 2.5/5
Nothing special about it. Thin pancake style, flavor not so good.. Just the usual. Do not order.
Service - 2/5
Our server seemed unhappy to be doing his job and at the same time we caught him flirting with the other staff while working. He was smiling when he was looking at the server but when asked to order something, he went back to his frown. 😟
Overall, it was nothing special. I have had way better korean food and better service too! Ye Dang is still to be recommended when in Pasig. Maybe I have to order something else? But I got the 2 best seller meats already..
They had a clean bathroom and restaurant though. It's not as dark and dim as the usual.. And floors weren't oily.
*** update: We gave it another try and the galbis tasted better than they did before. Also, order the Sundubu Jigae, good spicy soup!
Their food are great. I can't deny that fact but price wise it's kinda pricey since they are not buffet type restaurant but everything they serve are so good. Portion wise, the serving is quite few.

Korean restaurants have flocked the nation since a few years ago, and the Filipinos have seemed to adapt and love them. Masil offers authentic Korean cuisine and has a fancier ambiance. Parking is ample, but you could also park on the side street.
Had the chance to dine at Masil via a friend's birthday. We have tried several dishes since we are a big group. We started with numerous servings and variety of their banchan which includes: sweetened peanuts, tofu, pickled raddish, fish cake, boiled potatoes, among others. The best one I like is the salad because of the sweet pineapple dressing. Here are some of the things we tried:
- Mung Bean Pajeon - green beans pancake with vegetables. I like the nutty graininess texture and crunch. It has a mild flavor that is addicting.
- Buldak - spicy chicken dish with vegetables. This dish is extremely spicy and has the power to make other dishes spicier. I remember my Budae Chigae getting spicier after trying the Buldak. I wish they can make a Cheese Buldak to counter the spiciness, because it gets down your throat. Although after the spiciness, it releases some sweetness to the dish.
- Gyeran Jjim - Korean verion of steamed egg, very fluffy and light, great for spicy foods.
- Dolsot Bibimbap - Korean Fried Rice done beautifully and cooked in a stone pot.. One of the best I've tried.
- Budae Chigae - Korean army soup. A spicy noodle (ramen) soup filled with vegetables, sausage, and ham. A favorite of many, this is invented when the Americans left Korea and the latter used everything they have like spam and hotdogs to make a delicious soup.
- Samgyeopsal - thickly sliced pork belly, tasty, sweet, and tender. The pork slices are dipped into the sesame oil then samjang (soybean sauce) then placed on lettuce with some garlic and eaten whole.
For dessert, they served several varieties of Korean ice creams. I like that there is one staff wearing Hanbok, a Korean traditional costume. When we asked about it, the staff said she is the oldest in service, and is like the captain waiter.
A great place to dine with friends. Masil means go out and have fun, and this is exactly what we did.
I wasnt surprised when my aunt picked Masil as a place to celebrate her birthday dinner with family. After all, even as she is a true-blooded Filipina, she love all things Korean (she has tons of koreanovela dvds, visited Korea over a hundred times, attended and followed after famous kpop oppas...
Masil is my gold standard when it comes to Korean restaurants in Metro Manila. It kicked off as a very small, humble restaurant in Ortigas Home Depot several years back, hidden from direct view by bars, coffee shops and bigger restaurants; and has now evolved into this very spacious and elegant restaurant that it is today in its new location in Oranbo. It is owned and managed by this nice and lovely Korean family who are very hands-on in running the establishment, even personally greeting the customers and attending to their needs to make sure that the dining experience is worthwhile.
The menu consists of standard Korean dishes, only better; that is in terms of the taste, quality, and overall value for money. With the restaurant’s current fame and caliber, the prices are very reasonable, almost cheap. As a common practice among Korean restaurants, banchan is served while the main orders are being prepared. The kimchi is really good and deserves a refill. One unique banchan item is the green salad with banana vinaigrette, a not so usual but definitely delicious dressing.
The grilled meat, be it pork (e.g., sam gyeop sal) or beef (e.g., saeng galbi), consists of premium meat cuts that produce adequate flavor and right consistency that even the elderly can chew on with ease, and is always eaten best when wrapped in fresh greens. For someone who can tolerate extremely hot food, my personal favorite is the pyo haejang guk (pork bone in spicy soup with rice).
Interestingly, Korean ice cream such as the very popular Melona varieties are likewise available, thus completing the Korean dining course.
YES I LOVE IT!!!!!❤
I AM SOOO RECOMMENDING " MASIL " MY NEW FAVORITE KOREAN RESTAURANT! ! !
GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE COURTEOUS STAFF
THANK YOU MS. SARAH AND MR TIM!☺ FOR BEING SO ACCOMODATING ☺ KUDOS!
AM GIVING THIS PLACE ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
One thing Filipino loves is free stuff! Well I'll bet any person loves this.
Tonight was random restaurant night.
I just draw in the zomato app to look for places to eat in a particular area. Masil was on top of the list
Have you tried the Uber link? I just did it tonight and it worked no delays no bugs and it was a great interaction of apps.
We went in and asked to be seated. The normal Korean greeting was there. A lot of big groups.
We called earlier to reserve and the receptionist told us to just walk in. They only reserve 4 seats up. Smoking was okay outside, there were fans and mosquito repellant to make the experience better. The ambiance inside looked bright.
We began to scan the menu. The menus were almost falling apart. But still usable.
We were looking at the bundle and the server indicated that if I have no interest in tasting it it would be wise to order ala carte. My girlfriend laughed as I looked at her. "Did I look the not adventurous kind" admit-tingly I am a person who goes by what I am most comfortable with.
We orders japche, pork and beef to barbecue.
The prices were reasonable. The server was able to accommodate questions and indicated to use the button when we needed something.
The appetizers arrived and I was overwhelmed.
Soup, eggs, radish, peanuts, greens, squid cake, lettuce, kimchi, and a couple more.
I was astounded "talk about free appetizers"
Then came the pork spareribs nothing special. Barbecued pork, smoked, sweet, and good tasting.
The beef came and OMG ! So delicious. Soft, smokiness was so good. I want more.
Japche came and it was good, noodles were great. Lesley commented that she wanted it more oily and I thought it was fine as is.
We dined listening to Korean music, songs.
We will come back. I enjoyed my first visit. Price was reasonable for two people.

Good place to enjoy authentic korean bbq. Was quite surprised when they bought out charcoal as a heat source instead of the usual electric grill. The beef was good and the sides that came with it were more than filling. Staff was very helpful for naive korean cuisine newbie like me
Masil will not disappoint you. The food, ambience, place and service are all great! It's worth every peso you spend and you'll definitely be coming back for more.
If you're wondering what to order, I highly recommend the Masil Bulgogi.
May all time favorite Korean restaurant.. And the food San gyeop sal and sundubu chige the best..!!!
10/24 - came back here for the nth time and my experience never change! Great food, awesome service and still affordable! If you havent been here, then your missing a korean cuisine experience of your food adventures. A truly MUST TRY!
Note: took pictures also for your viewing. :)

Comfort food! I find it comforting because of multiple reasons. One - the food is highly palatable and you will immediately observe that the ingredients used are highly selected. I never knew i will enjoy vegetable dishes like this and never knew that i will enjoy how Koreans eat thy dishes. The preparation, garnishing and presentation is definitely eye catching. The PRICE is totally worth it.
Second - friendly staff! I am not sure if it is because i keep coming back or was it me really. Undeniably, they have friendly staff and would greet you every now and then. The hospitality is unmatched and you would see even the owners who are hands on with their business.
Third - the ambiance is totally ENORMOUS and spacious enough to prevent a total crowd-feeling situation. They have pleasant and appropriate Korean type - Jazz genre of music, loud enough to have a good long conversation with friends.
Every time i am asked for recommendations, this restau is always on top of my lists!
Good job! Keep it up!
Post note: i'll keep bringing my friends. :)

I have been to Korea and Masil is one of my favorite Korean Restaurants based in the Philippines. It may never taste as yummy in Korea but they have somehow touch my taste buds that I like coming back.
I like the bigger place in Oranbo drive because it accommodates bigger family or groups. Beautiful zen garden setting. Lots of parking space.
I like the staff team because they are attentive. I like the menu specially the grill menu with refillable side dishes and even if our orders are not for grilling they give us yummy sidedishes.
This restaurant will give you an excellent Korean Cuisine experience.
We ordered their saeng galbi, yangyeom galbi, la galbi, samgyeopsal and dak bulgogi. Before our orders came, we were treated to a wide array of refillable banchan selections. True enough, banchan selections alone will give you a sense that you're getting your money's worth since you'll be leaving this restaurant full and satisfied. Their meats were so good and cooked so well that we ordered a second round.
A pleasant dining experience indeed if you want to catch up with your friends for hours. Downside is how difficult it is to find this place, but once you do, it's worth your trip.
Another korean restaurant find! It's so unpretentious this place since it's along orambo st. Away from capitol commons and kapitolyo. This place is so huge and since there's too many people coming over to dine there's not enough parking space. I love everything that they served. The only downside is that you'll smell like grilled bbq. But its so good you wouldn't mind what you smell like after.
For a weekday night (Wednesday) Masil had a sizable crowd, especially for a restaurant that isn't readily accessible if you don't have a vehicle.
We ordered the galbi-sal, samgyupsal, and makchang, which are the large intestines of a pig. Since I am always on the lookout for good kimchi jjigae here in Manila, I ordered one as well. A pleasant surprise was that they had dwenjang (fermented soybean paste) jjigae and gyeran jjim (steamed egg) as "service" (it's a Korean thing, in restaurants whenever you dine and order a number of items, usually they give dishes for free. Masil is the first Korean restaurant here that has given that? As far as I know. Quite happy.)
The beef they use for the galbi-sal is good! The samgyupsal as well. Makchang by itself doesn't taste like much (or innard-y), but the sauce they serve along with it was quite flavorful. The kimchi jjigae was quite delicious too!
If you want something different from your usual samgyupsal, order makchang! Wait for it to crisp up a bit before eating. And our server grilled all our items quite well. They'll also be the first to ask if you want refills of the lettuce and perilla leaves! Needless to say service was great.
The trip made to Masil is worth it! There isn't much smoke either. Would recommend to anyone who likes Yedang, or Korean barbecue in general.

I am choosy when it comes to a Korean place
I promise this hub will not disgrace
The ambiencen is relaxing and cool
The best place to retreat when work has been cruel
I go for their grilled specialties
Such a thrill to eat to beat the realities
The price is reasonable i must say
Just take your pick and eat this way
Going Korean?! Visit this place! Their Signature dish Masil Bulgogi and
Yukhoe is amazing :) With all the side dishes that goes with your order, you will definitely get your money's worth.
Our go to place for late night Korean food cravings. The food is great and they have a lot of banchan. We usually just order the grilled stuff and the Yukhue which is like steak tartare.
One of the best korean food ive ever tasted. I usually order here maki. The price here was affordable enough for korean restaurant. Its cheaper compare to other buffet restaurants. A great venue for customers who loves korean food. :) a recommended restaurant to all. :)
The best Korean restaurant I've tried so far. The place was enough to accommodate guests in big groups, you can either dine inside or al fresco. The staff were approachable and helpful in grilling. There were a lot of banchan compared to other Korean restos which were refillable, they came with soups as well. The samgyeopsal was good. Prices were reasonable.
It was a great Korean dining experience and I'm excited to go back and bring my family.
This is definitely one of the best Korean restaurants I've tried. The side dishes themselves are worth going for. The lettuce and perilla leaves are fresh and crunchy. Wrap the meat and add some side dishes with these leaves and it results to explosion of flavors. I also love their steamed egg. The dish is simple but good.
The prices are affordable. The place is packed with locals and Korean people but good thing, they have a buzzer which you can press to call the attention of the servers.
Since I've been getting a lot of positive comments regarding this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. Masil offers authentic Korean food freshly prepared, cooked & grilled. In Masil, they have a classy, warm ambiance, with comfortable seats and spacious floor area.
We ordered premium beef cuts Galbisal, Chadol-bagi and Masil Bibimbap served with complimentary side dishes (can be refilled once), soup, and vegetables. We ordered this for four people and it's actually more than what we were expecting. Our total bill is P1,500. For the good quality of food and service, I can say that the price is just practical, reasonable and worth-it. 😊
This is the best Korean resto I've been to in Manila after YeDang a couple of yrs ago.
We had the premium set. Came with 3 kinds of beef ribs - saeng galbi, yangnyeom galbi and LA galbi - each with its own unique taste. The barbie meat was melt - in - the - mouth, juicy and delish with the sauce n oil accompaniment. Of course the banchan (side dishes) were plentiful, varied and yummy. Banchan is the standout of Korean cuisine for me!
We also got the denjang jige (bean paste soup) which was ok. And the pajeon (spring onion pancake with seafood). We were so full that we had to take out the pajeon!
We had the Bokbunja Ju (raspberry wine), the sweet ish taste of which was an antidote to all the spiciness before.
Truly a wonderful feast!
be sure that you're hungry when you go here. appetizers alone will fill you up. their for sharing soups are very good. and when they say its for sharing better believe it. the barbecue is also excellent
One of the best Korean restos in Ortigas! Generous with appetizers (8 kinds) and affordable versus other Korean restos in the area. Beef dishes are juicy, tender and flavored just right. They've so far consistently delivered since they started. :)
This is my 2nd favorite Korean BBQ place. They are now in a new bigger & better location. My basis of a good Korean restaurant is the quality & number of banchans(little dishes) that are offered throughout the meal. Here, they give you about 8 which is a good sign for me.The banchan that caught my attention is their steamed egg cooked in their eatrhenware.it is steamed and it is so smooth and tge flavor is very neutral which is good with all the overpowering flavors of Korean cuisine. The bbqs are a no fail plus an ender of nangnyum or the cold wheat noodles served with mustard & vinegar.
Masil Charcoal Grill Restaurant has had humble beginnings but has made it to our gastronomical journey for authentic Korean BBQ. I've had the fortunate opportunity to dine at their Ortigas Home Depot branch twice and they have never failed to fulfill my craving.
Orders for today:
1) Galbisal & Bulgogi - delectable meats, with just the right amount of serving to meet your appetite. I'm more particular with the complimentary sidings of the Kimchi, peanuts, bean sprouts, soup, potatoes, ginger, lettuce, garlic and sesame oils and sauces. All were very generous and you could request for second rounds of these add-ons. Creating a lettuce wrapped Korean BBQ is an Asian Burrito gone totally healthier.
2) Japchae - potato noodles with generous servings of vegetables and meats create a fiesta in your plate. I like how flavorful this dish was, complimenting the BBQ we ordered. Noodles were cooked perfectly and they weren't difficult to eat using chopsticks.
The charcoal method of Masil definitely adds to the flavor and texture of the meats. And its reputation speaks for itself, especially if the people you'll see dining here would be Koreans as well.
Sad to say, their Ortigas Home Depot branch had to close already and this September onwards, you can enjoy their authentic Korean BBQ specifically in their Oranbo, Pasig Location.
The Park Ju Song Call:
All in all, this place is a must-eat for Korean-food lovers. It's a slice of Seoul for your soul.
Cheers!
If you're craving for a Korean food fix, eat at Masil (마실). You know how sometimes you eat at a place that hits the spot for you and you just can't stop talking about it days later? That's the case with Masil for me. In my book, this is one of the best Korean restaurants in Ortigas. In fact, it's my favorite.
In Masil, it's always best to eat with someone or with a group. This way, you get to experience authentic Korean food at an affordable price.
I always order samgyupsal (삼겹살). They require two orders of anything you can barbecue and we always order two servings of my favorite samgyupsal. This comes with a wide spread of side dishes that includes soup, steamed egg, and salad. Their side dishes are a good assortment of different flavors and textures.
They cook the meat in front of you in their grills using charcoal. And because you can never go wrong with samgyupsal, it is always delicious and cooked at just the right way so that the meat is juicy and tender.
Authentic Korean barbecue with delicious side dishes. The chadolbagi and kimchi-chigae are a must try in this resto. Friendly and efficient staff...
Let me just say that if you're in the Philippines, dining at Masil (in the Ortigas Home Depot) is the next best thing to actually eating in a South Korean barbecue joint. Everything from the presentation to the utensils, even the way someone cooked our food in front of us screamed authentic Korean barbecue.
Traditional South Korean cuisine starts off with several side dishes (banchan, they're called). Masil certainly didn't disappoint here. The first dish tasted like sauteed sayote (or chayote, according to Wikipedia), with a savory/salty flavor. There was this cold egg dish with what I think was onions; it had a very subtle flavor, almost flan-like. The next side dish was sort of like a chewy flattened rice cake/crepe with some sort of vegetable in it; didn't really have much flavor to it. The pink radish tasted the same as the stuff served in most Japanese restaurants. Of course, there was also some peanuts in sweet sauce, as well as the ever present kimchi. Next to it was some bamboo in a spicy-ish soy sauce (nice and crunchy). The biggest bowl was some lettuce in a sort of mango-banana dressing. Last was some kangkong / water spinach in the same spicy-savory bean paste used on the barbecue meat, yummy. The only complaint here is that they only serve these once. So if you wanted more kimchi, you'll need to pay for more.
They served a variety of salad greens to go with the meat. Lettuce, Taiwan pechay, Chinese cabbage and other vegetables I can't name. All of them were tasty and fresh. One of them tasted to me like wasabi paste, which was a nice surprise.
Here's how the meat gets cooked. They have a barbecue pit outside the store where they heat the coals. They then bring it to your table and put a pan or grill cover on it (depending on what you order). Fancy, and also allows real grilling (not that LPG fueled method most other restaurants use).
On to the protein. First up was the Chadol Bagi. The thin beef slices cook quickly, but not so quick that you can't stop them from ending up burnt if you decide to chat before you eat it. The pan was slightly tilted so that the oil drips down to a trough under the table. the beef came out with just its natural beef taste, and combined with the greens it had a very simple but satisfying taste. You can add the red bean paste if you want more spice or the sesame oil dip if you want a woody flavor.
Next was Sam gyup sal. This is pretty much just liempo marinated in a very light sauce. After it was cooked (and chopped up) it tasted pretty much like plain pork. I kind of like plain pork though. We also had their Bulgogi, it's just a sweetened version of the Chadol bagi. And let's not forget the free veggie refills, that's never bad. Especially with the nice greens they had.
The last item to arrive was the Pork Bone soup. This tasted exactly like the soup we had in Seoul. The soup was served piping hot in a stone bowl, filled with loads of tofu, meat and leeks (and of course a lot of chopped chili). It never lacked anything in the spice department, but it capped off our heavy meal quite nicely. I think the hot soup really helped our digestion :).
All of this food and it just cost us under 1000Php (more or less). We can certainly recommend this place for anyone who wants to experience real South Korean food in a real South Korean way. Look out Masil, we're coming back to you soon :).

Korean BBQ places have been one of my favorite kinds of restaurants as of late. So one fine weekday afternoon, with my friend in tow, we visited Masil Charcoal Grill Restaurant located in Ortigas Home Depot.
Masil used to be Seoul Fusion until it was renamed just earlier this year, if I'm not mistaken. It's not easily noticeable from the main road, but if you follow the path with Ministop on the left and Starbucks on the right, Masil is just at the far end of that alley.
For a Korean BBQ place, Masil boasts a clean and bright dining space with air-conditioners installed. Every table which comfortably seats four diners also has a barbecue exhaust nozzle with flexible duct. This is good news for us as we won't have to smell like BBQ after eating.
After getting seated, we were handed menus. And upon placing our orders, we were promptly served with about 10 kinds of banchan (side dishes) along with refillable greens for wrapping. We were also given a free bowl of spicy seafood and soft tofu stew, as well as a small plate of salad. For the highlight of our meal, we had So Galbi (marinated US beef short ribs), Deji Galbi (marinated pork rib meat), Masil Bulgogi (US beef marinated in Masil's special sauce) and Mak Chang (pork intestines), all of which are grilled then cut by our server. All these items were good, and every serving is fit for 2 or probably 1 hearty diner. But among them, my favorites are the So Galbi and Masil Bulgogi as both have really good balance of sweet and savory flavors.
Masil also carries other non-BBQ items, and after seeing that part of the menu, we decided to order a serving of Bibimbap (Korean mixed rice) along with a bowl of comforting SamGyeTang (ginseng chicken soup). These two items are also really good. Although I haven't been to Korea yet, I feel like they're very authentic. Most of the patrons of Masil are Koreans too, so they can vouch for the authenticity if you don't believe me.
Anyway, you can read more of my detailed restaurant review for Masil at http://www.thepurpledoll.net/2013/07/masil-charcoal-grill-ortigas-home-depot.html.
Enjoy eating!
