Though many restos have already made their names in the Food industry, I really hope Sangkap would made it to the top in the future. Base on the food we've tried, I'd recommend it without doubt. They serve good, authentic Filipino dishes generously. Some of these that you should try are Pritong Hito,
Pancit Malabon, soupy version.
Inihaw na Pusit,
Tortang Talong,
Fried Chicken,
Sangkap Fried Rice,
Pinakbet,
Cebu Lechon Sinigang, and
Chicken Inasal sa Gata.
I really enjoyed everything because the fried rice is so good and a must try, bagay sa lahat ng ulam!!!
Thank you Harvard for having us!

They served Filipino dishes with a twist. Their famous sinigang bagnet was so good. The sinigang soup was full of flavor. The tapa rice, the fried chicken, crispy hito and the tortang talong was equally good as well. Though I think their palabok needs some improvement because it’s a bit salty for my taste. But overall it was a good dining experience here.
Tried the Bacolod Inasal sa Gata and it tastes good. Oily but overall taste is 8/10. Satisfied palate. Ambiance is nice. Aircon was just turned on and it's lunchtime so it's somehow hot (maybe rarely happens?) 5.0 rate but minus 1 for hot lunchtime.

In this post: Batanes Ivatan Kilawin, Cebu Lechon Sinigang, Embotido Tortang Talong, Stuffed Inihaw na Pusit, Pastel na Manok, Lengua at Atay na Bistek, Sangkap Salo-Halo
You need not travel far to taste the specialties from different regions in our country. Here at Sangkap Filipino Restaurant, Chef Raymar Reyes utilized his techniques and placed his own flavors to the famous Filipino dishes without losing their essence and maintaining an affordable price.

Sangkap is a Filipino restaurant that promises to bring the rich flavors of the Philippines closer to our reach.
Sangkap by Chef Raymar Reyes is established in 2015, and is operated by The Menu Group. It currently has three branches in Metro Manila particularly in Portico Alveo Pasig, Vertis North in QC, and Vista Mall Taguig.
I first tried Sangkap during their Vertis North grand opening. I remember liking their Ivatan Kilawin so much. Since then I promised myself to return to try their other dishes. Fortunately last Saturday, I was invited to have a peek on its newest promotion – CEBU LECHON SINIGANG ALL YOU CAN.
For just 350php, one can enjoy unlimited servings of their best seller Cebu Lechon Sinigang which is known for its mango broth base. It also comes with unlimited rice, and bottomless iced tea. WHAT A STEAL!!! I found this deal value for money. Their version of Sinigang is very rich in flavor and has generous veggies. It also has a huge serving of Cebu Lechon with cripsy lechon skin and soft and tender meat. I actually attempted to consume 2 servings!
Their other best sellers were also served that day such as the following.
Ivatan Kilawin
Aside from their Cebu Lechon Sinigang, this dish is a must-try in Sangkap. The perfect blend of tanigue, shrimps, and squid mixed with coconut milk is just bliss in my mouth. It’s sour as expected for a kilawin, but not too much. It’s just right. It’s not overwhelming.
Zamboanga Adobong Baka sa Gata
Remembering Sangkap’s goal to bring the flavors of our country in their restaurant, this dish is their entry for Mindanaoan food. (Ivatan Kilawin – Luzon ; Cebu Lechon Sinigang – Visayas). This dish is surprisingly good. I loved how soft and tender everything was! I actually prefer Adobo as it is without gata, but their version is making me think otherwise.
Bistek
This is not your usual Bistek Tagalog as Sangkap’s version has liver and cow’s tongue with it. It’s kind of new to me, but it actually worked. The liver and tongue combination creates a texture of smooth and rough at the same time. The sauce itself is so tasty that it can be paired with rice already.
Chicken Pastel
This is another unique dish in this restaurant. They tried to be innovative by adding Spam, liver, and basil to the usual Chicken pastel. Think of cream and pesto. Yes? I love it too.
We were also served Stuffed Pusit and Inihaw na Talong during this visit but I was too full to give them a try. However their presentation of Inihaw na Talong is one of the best I’ve seen so far. Lastly, the feast was ended with their Halo-halo. It’s one of the biggest Halo-halo I’ve eaten and it’s only 160php and good for 4 people!
Overall, I truly enjoyed this visit in Sangkap. It’s good for family, friends, and even for big group of people such as officemates, and barkada. Definitely worth trying.
P.S. Their UNLIMITED Cebu Lechon Sinigang promo is available until April 30, 2018 for 350php. Again, it’s with unli rice and iced tea. PLUS PLUS PLUS! They offer additional 10% off the total bill if you use the code BLOGGERTHETRAVELLINGTONGUE. Yay!
Sangkap by celebrity chef, Raymar Reyes, is fast becoming a go to venue for Filipino food with a modern and more flavorful spin. Chef Raymar took a new approach in recreating classic Pinoy favorites from different regions in the country in one menu. The dishes he offers here give us a gateway to experiencing iconic dishes all over the Philippines.
Lomi - not that much noodles but a lot of ingredients. I find it tasty.
Tokwa’t baboy - the dip is too spicy! Perhaps they should decrease the heat level.
Sotanghon Miki noodles - this is very delicious, even as a leftover!
Their food is gooood! Serving size is also generous. The staff are very attentive as well. I deducted half a point because of the baby roaches crawling under and on the table!
Update: their chicharon bulaklak is way too salty. Their dinakdakan is kinda funky; not the way ilokanos do their dinakdakan for sure.
I had the pleasure of getting an invite to Harvard and The Foodie Station's Halloween Ball days leading up to October 31. Located near the high end enclaves of Pasig City and a few minutes walk from Capital Commons, Sangkap is in good company alongside other restaurants and cafes. They mainly cater to the neighboring villages and high rise condominiums. But that doesn't mean that a South Foodie cannot get out of his comfort zone to try out Sangkap's wide Filipino dishes.
I love how they managed to include some of the regions famed dishes or perhaps introduce those dishes to a wider audience and this is what Sangkap intends to do. For the party we had the following:
Ivatan Kilawin - just like the name itself, the dish guarantees fresh "straight from the water" seafood, marinated in spiced vinegar. This alone is a must try for thos who crave fresh fish.
Cebu Lechon Sinigang - served family style. The sinful pork had a layer of meat and fat that melts in your mouth. The sour broth and vegetables paired well with white rice, naturally.
Adobong Baka sa Gata - beef slowly simmered adobo style with a generous amount of coconut milk to give that creamy texture.
Pinakbet - your bahay kubo vegetables cooked together. I tasted a bit of smokiness on the vegetables, perhaps it was grilled first to give it that unique taste. Weight watchers will surely enjoy this dish.
The second floor is good for private functions with a dedicated staff to attend to your needs. Ample parking is also available right in front of the restaurant. Overall, i had a great time. Must visit for all and if your have balikbayan friends coming over during the holidays this is a good place for lunch or dinner.

I seldom eat at Filipino restaurants unless its my favorite brands which I won't mention here.Because I have a principle of its no other different from other Pinoy themed restaurant.
Went to Pasig after having an appointment there ,we craved for some Filipino latelunch/merienda and as its less than 5 minutes walk we chose Sangkap. The place was predominantly decorated with wooden Pinoy fixtures and illustrations.Very cozy and pleasant ambiance.
We ordered pancit Malabon palabok and Lumpiang hubad,I'm amazed by the size of the servings every item must be consumed by two to four people.
The lumpiang hubad is very good ,nice heap of vegetables ,what impressed me is they used real coconut ubod and not the turnips/jicama unlike in other food houses, nice flavor of shrimp, generous toppings of garlic but if you don't want the garlic toppings just tell the server ahead of time.Special and hefty portion of lumpia for only Php130.
The pancit palabok can feed four, nice al dente rice noodles ,topped with shrimp flavored gravy, with squid ,shrimps ,tofu and instead of regular eggs they used quail eggs.A bounty of ingredients in a dish.
What in really like here is the price to serving ratio, good quality ingredients as in " Hindi Tinipid" a value for money, can be recommended if you want to bring your balikbayan families and friends or even foreigners this restaurant is a good place to represent our native cuisine.Super busog with the two dishes we ordered.
Friendly and welcoming staff, reasonable prices and quality food. Will come back for their Cebu lechon sinigang.
NOTE :OPENING HOURS IS 11am -2pm and 5pm onwards.

One of the best tasting restaurant I’ve been to. It seemed like all the dishes in their menu are delicious. My favorites: Cebu Lechon Sinigang, Pampanga Bagnet Kare-Kare, Bicol Lechon Kawali Express, Timog Luzon Kalderetang Lengua, Ginataang Hipon na may Sitaw at Kalabasa, and Sisig Rice. You should try and you will surely come back.
This is my first time to visit and experience the dishes from Sangkap. They boast in offering authentic Filipino dishes that are favorites in most households in the country. For Sangkap’s 2nd year, they are launching their Fiesta Packs (good for 12 pax) starting this November 11, 2017. This will be perfect specially for the coming holidays with all the parties and celebrations going on. And last Saturday, we got a preview of their Fiesta packs!
Filipinos are natural festive people. They love to hold gatherings over different reasons that would require lots and lots of food. Normally, this would require us to prepare ahead in time and most of it, we don't have enough time to prepare. This is where Sangkap kicks in.
Starting November 11 of this year, they will be launching Fiesta Packs! Customers can now order in party sets that is good for 12 pax each of your selected favorites. This should take care of your preparation woes for this yuletide season. All you have to do is to call them in advance for them to prep it and you can pick it up from their store. Here's the list of foods you could order in fiesta packs:
Sotanghon Guisado (1,350.00 php)
Malabon Pancit Palabok (1,100.00 php)

Pampanga Sisig (1,500.00 php)
Tokwa't Baboy (750.00 php)

Kalderetang Lengua (1,850.00 php)
Manila Pares (1,500.00 php)
Pinakbet (850.00 php)
Chopsuey (850.00 php)
Highly notables from the list:
Humba - Very tender meat and it's not too sweet. I really love on how it was made as I continually craved for it through the day.Kalderetang Lengua - It was on the creamy side. I love how the flavor was built. I am used to have Kaldereta with a bit of spiciness but this ain't so bad after all.
Pampanga Sisig - You don't have to travel far north for this flavor.
Bagnet Dinuguan - The crunchy texture of the bagnet goes really well with the Dinuguan, which was cooked dried out.
Cebu Lechon Sinigang - Lechon Cebu complimented with a fruity sour sauce. One of the best sellers in Sangkap. You'll definitely enjoy this one.
Sangkap Rice - Rice with bits of smoked fish, garnished with spring onions. A great compliment with any aforementioned dish.
Aside from this new product launch, they are now accepting catering functions and hosting packages. You may inquire at 09178074675.
It was an awesome dining experience with Sangkap and it's a great thing that we could have their favorite dishes on party packs to share with our loved ones. A definite good treat for the yuletide season.
An of course, a big thanks to Harvard for hosting.

Their menu present a different filipino dish from different cities. Upon entering the restaurant, you see the rustic theme interiors.
The restaurant can accommodate a lot of people since it has second floor.
We tried some dishes from different cities.
In Luzon, Ivatan Kilawin, it has fish, shirmp and squid cooked in vinegar with the twist of coconut milk.
In Visayas, Cebu Lechon Sinigang, lechon belly with thick sauce from green mango and tamarind.
We had the Salo set for 6 since we were 6 friends who dined in Sangkap one Thursday (before a holiday) night. It was a feast for only PHP 1750. I loved the cozy ambiance that felt like eating dinner at home. The food servings were more than enough as we had takeout from the sumptuous dinner. Personal favorites were the Kilawin, Adobong Baka sa Gata, Crispy Cebu Lechon Sinigang and the tri-color spring rolls with vanilla ice cream. We got intrigued with the Salo Halo-Halo, different from the usual - came in BIG serving and delightful mix of flavors. Looking forward to our next visit. On a personal note, the secret Sangkap is ❤️ because I felt it in how every dish was prepared and presented, much more when I tasted and savored every chew of it. 😍
Great take on Filipino food with a twist. Excellent versions of kinunot na hito, cebu lechon sinigang and chicken liver pate! The pate was really done well, with an accompanying side of caramelized onions; turned out to be my favorite of the night! Came with wonton chips and bread slices. The chicharon bulaklak was generous and freshly fried with a good balance of crunch and fatty goodness. We also had patatim, kare-kare and fried hito. Overall food was well executed.
Portions were fine - came in two sizes which is good. Service was quick and respectful.
We will come back!
Their Bagnet Sinigang is a must try! They are also very nice to accomodate our order pick up and had it arranged real quick. They also have ample parking so not a problem for stopovers.
Located at Portico in Oranbo Pasig, in front of Nipa Hut. I easily got a parking slot right in front of the resto but the establishment has parking space at the back. Sangkap serves Filipino dishes which comes from different parts of the country. Started our meal with Laing (Bicol) Malutong which was Laing wrapped in wrapper then fried. It wasn't too spicy which was good since I don't really enjoy spicy food. Our mains were mostly pork dishes. Bagnet (Ilocos) Kare-kare (Pampanga), Binagoongang Bagnet (Negros) and Cebu Lechon Sinigang. The Ginataang Hipon With Sitaw and Kalabasa was my fave. For dessert, we had Tri Color Spring Rolls which was really just turon with 3 different sauces. It's usually served with vanilla ice cream but thanks to the part owner, who is a friend, we got the Palitaw ice cream instead. It was so good, you could distinctly taste the malagkit rice and sesame flavor. Their calamansi ice cream was also good, if you like Yakult. The staff was attentive in refilling the water and gracious enough to take our pictures. I would recommend for get together with balikbayans since they can get to taste a variety of Filipino local dishes without having to tour the country.
(This is not a paid review)
Crispy laing, lechon sinigang & kare kare, palitaw sorbetes. Memorable. Uulit ultiin i must say. Served fast, felt faster than advised 15mins. So easy to find the location was also next door to equally interesting businesses in case. Babalik for the other refreshed Pinoy faves like Lomi
Fast becoming a go-to venue for straight up Filipino food with a delicious twist an exciting dining experience awaits at Sangkap. Located in Portico Alveo, Oranbo, Pasig City near Valle Verde Clubhouse and part of the restaurants by The Menu Group. Sangkap's celebrity chef Raymar Reyes takes on a modern rendition of classic Pinoy dishes from different regions in the country.
Nice Pinoy food resto and great simple setting. Food was okay, probably ordered wrong so will still go back to try some of their other dishes. We got surprised with the serving size of the pares, the others were small and just right. Need to go back to try more! Pretty cozy interior otherwise and nice place to hang out.
Good Filipino food with beers and hard drinks available at a decent price and open until 12 mn. That's a winning combination!
Sangkap brings dishes from all over the Philippines into their resto in Oranbo.
For starters we had the tasty Laing Malutong. Tasty laing fried in crispy pouches. Great combination with beer. We also had the Papaitan Baka - hearty Illocano soup dish with beef innards. Salty and tangy.
For mains we had the Adobong Baka sa Gata. This was ok. Only some of the beef pieces were of good quality.
We tried their Bicol Express ice cream and Champorado ice cream. The former was unique with a spicy aftertaste. Champorado was chocolate ice cream with oatmeal crisps.
Hello everyone! After almost a week of not being able to write about our recent EATS, we finally had time to write about one of our EATSperiences last month. We were able to visit one of the newest restaurants in Portico – Pasig, Sangkap by Chef Raymar Reyes. Sangkap means “ingredient” in Filipino, as the restaurant features all sorts of dishes with ingredients that highlight the different regional flavors of the Philippines. Because of that, we tried a number of Sangkap’s bestselling dishes from the different parts of the Philippines. Dishes that are truly Filipino with a twist. Find out if it all worked out well or not as you EATSperience Sangkap through our taste buds. Here goes our much-awaited Sangkap EATSperience, enjoy!
Sangkap (meaning “ingredients”) is the latest installment in Harvard Uy de Baron‘s S-series food establishment alongside Splice, Sobremesa and Sasa. With Chef Raymar at the helm, this Filipino restaurant takes key elements from the different provinces of the Philippines and reconstructs them based on a modern interpretation. Overall, Sangkap has a great play on flavors and sauces.
Sangkap is a combination of great ambiance, good service and delicious Filipino food with a twist that is sure to tickle your tastebuds. I love their Binagoongang Bagnet & their Bagnet kare-kare cooked just the way I like it, their Sinigang is different from what I am used to but it is something I would recommend because even my children who are picky eaters loved how it tastes, and I also love their palitaw flavored ice cream. If you're tired of the usual Filipino dishes, head on to Sangkap and try out the signature dishes by Chef Raymar.
Sangkap is a new Filipino restaurant in the metro which combines the taste of different regions of the country. Despite the interesting twists to their meals, they are still true to the Filipino palette.
Among our favorites are their Bagnet Kare-kare, Kalderetang Lengua, Cebu Lechon Sinigang, and Pancit Palabok. All of which were scrumptious and flavorful.
Also worth noting and something which I'm surely going back for would be their ice cream. Such well-loved Filipino delicacies and flavors turned into unique ice cream flavors. We tried all four: calamansi, palitao, champorado, and bicol express. I loved everything, but if I were to choose just one, I would choose champorado. To think that I'm not fond of the real champorado. One must also try their bicol express ice cream which only leaves a spicy aftertaste that, even as a person not fond of spicy food, I liked.
Parking is available in front of the establishment, but please leave a note with the guard or the servers if you will be blocking another vehicle already.
Good for families and treating balikbayan or foreign guests, but they would benefit from adding high chairs for babies.
Definitely one of the best Filipino restaurants out there, hands down!! Chef Raymar puts a unique twist in classic, well-known Pinoy cuisine and the result is something both flavorful and homey. Favorites include Ivatan Kilawin, Binagoongang Bagnet, Pork Belly Sinigang (with mango broth!) - but literally everything, down to the drinks and desserts - are a must-try.
Tried out a newly opened Filipino restaurant by Chef Raymar Reyes, Sangkap. I was lucky enough to also try out new dishes to be added to their menu (but now available upon publishing this post); Filipino dishes in a new variation. Definitely a must-try! Sangkap offers a variety of Filipino specialties from different regions of the Philippines. I love the interiors of the place, it's modern, spacious, and well-lit.
Sharing the dishes that I was able to try at Sangkap:
-Dinuguang Bagnet. Roasted bagnet topped with betamax salsa and chicharong bulaklak at the side. It was my first time to try such a variation, and it was good! I liked the combination of the dinuguan with the bagnet and salsa as well as the chicharon. Roasted bagnet is tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. I think it's a good viand and a good pulutan.
-Ginataang Hipon sa Sitaw at Kalabasa. This can be served regular or spicy. I enjoy the creamy taste of the coconut. The veggies are fresh, squash is tender. Shrimp is just right.
-Chopsuey. Colorful, flavorful, saucy. Fresh vegetables, chicken liver, and quail eggs.
-Palabok. Their palabok is well-seasoned with a lot of ingredients. Boiled eggs, fried tofu, tinapa, adobong hipon, and chicharon. The noodles used were more for pancit malabon than palabok. It's very flavorful, though I find the taste of the tinapa a bit overpowering.
-Pancit Guisado. I actually liked this better than the palabok. It's made of sotanghon and canton noodles, pork, chicken liver, spring onions, carrots, lettuce, and caramelized onions. It tastes good and I love the caramelized onions on this dish.
-Sizzling Balut. I'm a balut lover; I love how they came up with this variation. I also like that the chick is still very young so it's really tender, small, and not that hairy--with a good amount of yolk. I normally eat balut with vinegar but I enjoyed this dish well: good sauce with a good amount of toasted garlic on top. Yum!
-Tiyan ng Baka Humba. Beef belly with black bean taosi, pineapples, and banana, then glazed with sugar. It's fatty as expected from eating beef belly, but the glazed sugar, pineapples, and banana makes it quite addicting. It balances well with the fat that you can keep on eating it without having that "umay" feel. I also like the variation that they used beef since humba is usually pork. I love this dish. Extra rice, please!
-Bicol Express Ice Cream. I was amazed that they have this flavor for ice cream. The bicol express ice cream had a playful flavor. It's sweet and creamy--that coconut milk taste from bicol express, then contrasted by a really spicy aftertaste. It's good, though. They also have other ice cream flavors such as champorado and calamansi.
A different dining experience awaits you as Chef Raymar of Sangkap in Oranbo, Pasig makes a modern take on classic Filipino dishes. With every bite of the unique dishes he cooks, you will be reminded of your mom's home-cooked meals, but prepared the modern way. Probably even made more flavorful.
When you get to Sangkap, you better try out their Ivatan Kilawin, which is fresh seafood in spiced vinegar. Also a must try is their chicken adobo pate, which is a unique take on the classic adobo. Their Cebu lechon belly sinigang, which consists of the much raved about meat from Cebu, is also worth trying, as well as their two versions of kare-kare pork belly and the beef head to tail, which were both prepared with a twist.
As for Sangkap's desserts, get ready to be fascinated with their artisanal ice cream. They have four flavors namely, champorado, which had a nice balance of sweet and bitterness; Bicol express, which had a nice kick of spice to it; calamansi flavor, which had the right amount of sourness; and palitaw, which is my favorite flavor of them all. Its taste just lingers in your mouth.
