A lot of establishment have made their way in the Blue Bay walk area, one them is Chef & Brewer, a local favorite in the Ortigas and Eastwood area. They serve reasonable priced, good portioned, comfort food, the type that makes you go happy and drink some more. Nothing too fancy just straight up good quality grub.
A must try is the , shoe string fries, Carbonara Pizza, Lengua Sisig!!! the mozzarella cheese bites, and special mention to the very fresh Aklan baked oyster.
Great place to do events and parties, very accessible location and plenty of parking space.
They're more than just alcohol!
Product: Chef and Brewer not only offers you a wide selection of alcohol and brew; they also have delicious dishes that will make you come back, again and again, every now and then. Perfect for pulutan or just a normal dine out session with the gang. And believe it or not, you will actually get more than what you paid for. We only ordered 4 dishes but we were struggling to finish them at the end. The only reason we managed to finish a dish or two was because they're all really good.
We had their C&B Pizza (Php 580.00): which is their specialty pizza. One whole pizza is good enough for 4-5 people. It has pepperoni, bell pepper, ham, and olive. It's also topped with lettuce drizzled with a salad dressing. Even though there's not much tomato sauce inside, it's actually really tasty as it is. The dough is thin and somewhat crispy. It doesn't get too soggy even after a while.
Over Stuffed Quesadillas (Php 395.00): you can choose from Pork Sisig, Chili Corned Carne, or Spicy Tuna. We first chose Pork Sisig but it wasn't available on that day so we ended up with Spicy Tuna. I was actually feeling really confident that it won't be as spicy as anyone expects it to be. Turns out, I was wrong. It was too spicy for someone with a sensitive tongue like me but for people who love spicy food, it's probably just right. I kind of wished we just went with the chili corn because the tuna didn't mix well with the cheese for me.
Pancit Sisig (Php 290.00): was the dish my friends were just bragging about the whole way there. It's basically just regular Filipino pancit topped with sisig and egg. Sadly, the pork sisig wasn't available so we ended up choosing Lengua Sisig. To be honest, I was hesitating to taste it at first because I'm not a fan of lengua but.. when I did taste it, I ended up eating a lot. Apparently, Lengua Sisig is a good idea. I recommend you taste this one when you pay them a visit.
Flight of Wings (Php 685.00): it comes with 3 types of sauces (gravy, sweet chili, and hot sauce). Sad that it didn't have mayo or ranch. But also, when they say flight, they mean flight. I've never had to share wings these many. There were like 30-40 wings in there. The sizes of the wings were small but still, it's enough to make 4-5 people full. They were really crispy and good enough as it is. If your barkada is eating this as a pulutan, it's probably good for 3 people but mix in rice or any type of carb, trust me, this is more than enough.
We also had a slice of their Oreo Cheesecake (Php 220.00): the size of the slice was okay but probably too small for that price. The chocolate on top actually makes it better.
Venue: Chef and Brewer is a newly opened bar and restaurant in Bluebay Walk, Libertad. It's just a few buildings away from Mall of Asia. There are 2 floors, the first floor is where you can get a close-up view of the band playing that night, it's also a cooler place in terms of temperature. The second floor is where there's an area outside dedicated to smokers. You can also have a good view of the live band from the inside up there. Both floors have a bar and a bartender but I think they make most of the drinks on the first one. The service was okay, not fast nor slow. The servers were very easy to call, there are a lot of them and each of them would greet you as you enter and would bid goodbye as you leave. They attend to your every request with a smile on their face. One thing I have yet to try when I come back is their pork sisig. I hope that it's available on my next visit.
Chef and Brewer opened their newest and biggest branch in Bluebay Walk, Pasay City last February 6, 2018. This grand launch was a spectacular event from light show dancers called Tron Dancers and games with the help from their partnered liquor brands. They also had games and promos starting from 4pm onwards.
Phaister also hosted the whole event where they also introduced the whole team of Chef and Brewer. Plus a question and answer portion was held for the media to ask Chef Vince and Chef Erica on how the concept started along with the inspiration for their dishes. It was a whole afternoon till night affair and they made sure that people will enjoy.
In partnership with Remy Martin they gave away 3L Remy Martin bottle to a lucky winner. They also had cocktails served for their guests to take pleasure, too bad we weren't able to take note of the name of the cocktail below because it was really delicious perfectly proportioned alcohol, soda and flavorings.
