Been here once and referred it to my friends..back again last May 4 and they loved the place, music not so loud, food is great and the staff are friendly...kudos!
Food food, good place. Never failed to impress. Everytime I have friends and family who's going to our place at Pasig. I introduce Locavore to them and it never failed me.
Excited to come back here for their Sizzling Sinigang. And they didn’t disappoint! Loved all the food we ordered - sizzling sinigang, gising gising, mac’s chicken and Kalibo oyster. Ambience is great, tho too cold for me. It was a weeknight so it’s not too crowded. I should get myself a drink next time.
Fried Oyster Sisig, Gising-gising (chopped winged beans in coconut milk).
Third time trying this restaurant. Oyster sisig was good, it's clearly a different take on the classic pork sisig (usually made with pork's face). Just think there was too much of the mayo, and i'm not a big fan of mayonnaise. Nonetheless, very innovative. A real must-try. The gising-gising was not as good as i remember the first time i tried it at their Makati branch. It was lacking a little spice, and saltiness from bagoong (shrimp paste). But the version that i've tried in their makati branch was really good, so i think they just need to be more consistent with their dishes and make sure they have the same quality for each branch.
Personal favorites are the oyster lechon sisig and sizzling sinigang. I loved all of their dishes because there was so much flavor you can't eat them without rice! For appetizers, better not miss their salted egg gabi chips - so good, but so bad - though I don't mind feeling guilty about this once in a while. Definitely one of my favorite Filipino restaurants in the metro.
Filipino with a twist. Super love their sizzling sinigang. Food are very appetizing. Our balikbayan relative enjoyed the food and ambiance..
It was a very nice place and i will not hesitate recommending it to everyone. The food was spot on from presentation to taste. The wait was worth it and was just right. And super proud about this being a Filipino restaurant. It just missed one star from me because of one a little not so welcoming server but it wasnt much of a big deal. Nonetheless, we will surely come back to this place. 😍
If you're looking for filipino dishes with a twist, then Locavore is the perfect place to be. Their unique versions of our beloved pinoy comfort food like sinigang and sugpo sa aligue captivated our family. Hence, whenever there are special occasions, my mom always request for Locavore. However, for those who are on a tight budget or those who want generous servings, you might want to consider other restaurants.
Hesistant to try this restaurant but my boyfriend is curious for a long time so we decided to try it once and for all.
We asked for their best sellers and ordered it.
Sizzling sinigang- very innovative. Never thought I'll taste the sinigang without the soup and just the gravy. 5⭐ for me since I like the sour taste of sinigang and the beef was nicely cooked.
Fried oyster sisig- never tried oyster before and I know I wouldnt want to eat it raw. So we opted the fried oyster and it did not disappoint. It has a deep flavor that you would want to eat rice more with it. I think it is best paired with alcohol.
Pandesal pudding- we had ensaymada pudding in little flour and it amazed us so we want to do a comparison of what locavore has to offer. I had the first bite I was so into it. It was definitely a pudding and I like it. There's no way to compare it to little flour but in terms of price this is less pricey and pudding texture, dulce de leche are the good points for this dish. Not too sweet so you can finish the whole thing.
Watermelon mojito- my boyfriend loved it. Told me it was the best mojito he had so far. I must agree it tastes like watermelon juice with an aftertaste of the alcohol. It's hard to sip it using a straw because of the watermelon bits but overall it's a good drink
Verdict: Innovative in terms of filipino cuisine. A restaurant that will wanna make you comeback to try their other dishes.
Had dinner with two friends at this branch right after work. It's hard to say anything bad about this Locavore. Staff, ambiance, service, and the food were all A+. Our server (so sorry that I forgot his name) was very attentive. Safe to say that our water glasses never fell empty that dinner time. Points of improvement? I guess they can work on the lighting a bit. Lights here are just a tad bit bright, but this may be me nitpicking already.
One of the best modern Filipino resto I have been to. Mak's chicken is awesome. The Tortang Alimasag was a homage to the korean steamed egg! Pakbet Ratatouille was mindblowing! The Sinugbang Bangus stuffed with ensaladang itlog na maalat is to die for! This resto is lit!
