My mom said this place was pricey, but I'm in a mood for good quality ramen, on vacation and I got extra I can splurge. Yes, worth every peso. Must try again and again. #happytatti #happytummy #pinayinAbuDhabi
💕 Date for Two: Shio Ramen, Kara-Miso Ramen
💌 Total: P780
Overall:
After a mild motion sickness from the VR Zone, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka saved our night. Soothing and hearty, these hot bowls were meant to be for us.
They have two size options for their ramen, Regular and Large. We find the large size expensive so we just chose the regular one. It was a very good decision as the serving for each bowl was very generous, and we got to try two different variants.
Shio Ramen (Regular, P385) – Hokkaido Ramen Santouka’s signature ramen in pork broth and salt.
Kara-Miso Ramen (Regular, P395) – pork broth, hot spices and miso.
Value for money: Worth it!
#DateForTwo at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka
Always my favorite ramen place! Their Shio ramen is very flavorful. And for only 540 you have yourself some katsu (that you can share), fruits, salad, black tea, and a bowl of Ramen ❤️
My friend and I used booky and ordered the BOGO promo nanban chicken. We also ordered rice. I chose the sake chahan, and she chose the char siu chahan. The chicken was delicious, nicely fried, crispy exterior but moist and juicy when you bite it. The chahan, I find a bit pricy at 150php per serving. But the taste is good, like it was somewhat smokey in flavor, and you can eat it on it own because it has salmon/charsiu already in it.
Next time I will visit this place, I will try their ramen. 🤞
My quest to try the better buy 1, take 1 from booky continues with the Nanban Chicken at P280 for 2 orders instead of 1. Nanban Chicken is endemic to Kyushu and it is fried chicken karaage with sweet and sour Nanban sauce and topped with Jap mayo. There was shredded cabbage that you could eat together with the chicken to counter the richness of the dish. I had it with plain gohan rice.
I also ordered the Charsiu Rolls at P210. It was a scrumptious roll with pork charsiu, cucumber, carrots and mayo that is accompanied by their signature dip. Both dishes were very good and provided me with a good reason to drive to MOA.
This is a favorite place of mine and my experience got even better at this branch. The food tastes a lot different, yummier! I went with my mom and dad and it was their first time trying out this place and safe to say, they liked it. The ramen is divineeee. Super friendly staff, though we were there on a Monday afternoon with really few people dining. I hope they’re the same friendly and perky people when jam packed with people. All in all, this place is a recommend for family, friends, or date eat out. Will come back and eat to this branch when I get the chance.
Good news... Hokkaido Ramen Santouka re-opened in MOA and is now considerably more spacious than before. I still find then to be one of the Top 5 Ramen in the Philippines.
This branch is so much better than their Glorietta location. Service is good, attentive staffs, and air-conditioning is comfy.
Got their ramen-chix karaage and katsu-ramen sets. Both sets were good, portion is generous and good value. I tried their pork char siu mantau, it was ok but the dressing killed the pork flavor... you can skip this dish. Overall, will definitely go back.
Our order:
1. Set G (Small Ramen and Grilled Salmon and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl Set) - P520 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ramen was okay. What I liked was the Salmon Roe rice bowl. Will order the Sake Ikura Gohan in full size next time
2. Tonkatsu (P285) - ⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was okay. I suggest you try something else or just go to Yabu if you really want Tonkatsu
We ate here last November 12 for our first monthsary. It was late and we were their last customers. We ordered their sets which included tonkatsu, ramen and desserts. The food is worth the price quality and quantity wise. And the servers were really nice although we were the last one in. We left their with our stomachs full.
The Shio Ramen made my tummy happy but I think the Gyoza was costly. But all in all, the food was enticing. The crew was keen; water was served upright when we chose our table.
I ordered the Kara-Miso Ramen and it's very good I would definitely come back here. The Ebi Roll is delicious as well. The place is okay, I like the service, friendly staff.
A must-try for Japanese food lovers like me since they serve ramen, tonkatsu, sushi and many more. They even have bundles which is really a good choice for a first-timer. In short, it's like Yabu and Ramen Nagi in one restaurant. How convenient is that?
In terms of service, the staff was okay. They accept debut cards so that means faster transactions.
A super fan of their ramen sets!!!!!! This has been my family's most favorite ramen house since we tasted it first about a few months ago. Their shio and shoyu ramen never fail to make us starve for more. The soup is very creamy and the meat perfectly tastes so tender that will satisfy you the most. Side-dishes are good as well. My top picks are ebi & pork katsudon! Food alone could acquire a 5 but the place though, needs a little improvement. A very steep & hot dining area unlike the other branches we've been to. Hence, I would always go back 🙂
One of the best Miso ramen I've tasted! I ordered the upsized version, it is full bodied, gastronomicall-fulfilling and to be poetic: soulful (I know!). There is happiness in every slurp. Do not be fooled by the simplistic, cramped interiors - it's part of the charm. I've dined Ramen in Japan and this one tastes authentic. Good service as well. Kudos!
One of my go-to place whenever I'm craving for some ramen and tonkatsu. They offer set meals of ramen + another dish. Another bonus for this is the price because it ranges from Php 470-540. By also adding 30 or 60 pesos, you can add boiled Japanese egg or steamed egg. The noodles are al dente and the soup is very savory and flavourful. I also recently tried their new maki creations but for me, was a big downside. Ambience is average but the service and staff for me, can still be improved on.
Food And Travel Is ❤️
+4.5
This is probably the best ramen i've eaten.. Ippudo's 2nd and 3rd is in Watami ..
Hollaido Ramen Santouka's Ramen tastes very authentic... The ramen soup taste meaty, you can taste the flavor of the meat when you zip its soup.. It's hot enough when it was served to us which is so good to zip on a cold weather.. The taste and their bowls are exactly the same in Hokkaido Ramen Santouka in Downtown Vancouver . The serving size is also enough to make your tummy full but if you're going to look on our photos, Yes! We've eaten a lot and it's just not ramen. (That's why we're foodie.. hahaa!!) I forgot the name of the dishes but they're all good!!! The edamame was steamed properly and not overcooked. The bun is also good, meat is tender and tasty.. I'm just not a fan of the stuffed squid ... Overall: Price is reasonable, Taste of the food is great ... Must Try!!! Buzzworthy!! I don't really care if their dining area is small, because that's how it is in a japanese restaurant...
The photos are from our 3rd visit in MOA branch..
I ordered their kara-miso ramen and i loved it, it's very flavourful and it stays on your tastebud wanting you to eat more. They also have this promo of free upsize which makes it a bonus. We were so full and ended up walking around seaside to digest what we ate. 😂
Food:
Miso Ramen: It was an awesome ramen with a mild savory broth at perfect temperature. Not too hot, and not too cold. The noodles looked like it wasn't the best noodles out there, but the pork belly, naruto and the stock were the MVPs of the bowl. I'd recommend to order more pork bellies and naruto.
The large bowl was finished after a few minutes of consumption as I can not stop myself in sipping the broth that lingers its umami from my mouth and it's slightly hot temperature to my stomach.
Pudding: The pudding was one of the most normal pudding that I have ever consumed. It wasn't as great, and it wasn't bad either. An average pudding , I'd say.
The Shop:
The shop was narrow, I felt like I would suffocate if there were too many customers by that time, but luckily, there were only less than 10. The aura inside the restaurant was pretty much "chill", there are a few dim lights and pictures hanged on the wall. The majority of the color was black followed by white and brown.
The staffs were nice as well, we were greeted as we step our foot inside their restaurant. They approached the customers as soon as they see the customer's hand being raised.
And we were also given a coupon in the end.
Tried the chicken ramen with chicken gyoza furai. Ramen broth is milky yet light, sauce topped in their furai gyoza has a spicy kick on it. Enjoyed it with my Sapporo beer!
Ramen got me like 😍😍😍 but really, they're quite tasty. Tastes great, looks great. The place is sort of small but as long as you've got your ramen, right? Says naruto's girl version. Also, the mochi was arayt, I got the tiramisu!
I would think that around this time, I already had my fill of ramen but I have to try one more that was recommended by my cousin who loves ramen. She claimed that this is one of the nicest ramen places in Manila and I actually agree. I know that people have different opinions on what is the best ramen but for me, it's really about the soup base. I tend to like having miso in my soup base and this one got it just right. It's light and delicious with just the right amount of toppings. I got the small ramen with the char siu rice bowl (Php 450). My auntie was not too hungry so I gave her the rice bowl.
If you are tired of very strong tasting ramen, then this place might be a good alternative for you. Taste here is not on full blast but if you can appreciate smooth tasting broth, then this might be for you.
Initially years ago, when ramen joints started to pop out, a plethora of tastes came out and when I tried Santouka back then, I was not that satisfied by it.
And today, I tried here again, and I am happy to say that it is different this time around. I ordered the Awase-Aji Ramen (salt, soy and soybean) and I was not disappointed. The noodles were just fantastic, the egg made was perfect (not ever cooked) and the broth is just what I am looking for.
The Toruniku-Pao (melting pork cheek meat pao with teriyaki sauce) on the other hand, has it's pros and cons. Let's start with the cons. Can I just say that it's the saddest pao that I have ever seen. When I read the menu that it's melting pork cheek, I had something else in mind. All I see is a pork slice meant for the ramen bowls. The pork cheek is just too thin. If not for the healthy serving of vegetable, then it might look sadder. The pao, I am almost certain, could have better puffy quality than being too thin. I do not agree with the price point of this item in the menu. On the positive note, since the pork is very thin, you will feel guilt free after eating it.
Should I come back here, I'm going for the ramen bowls or will try the tsukemen or the sets, but I'll pass on the buns.
The Ramen is Very Nice it was That Hot when they serve or maybe the place is Just A little bit colder...I had their Set with Miso Ramen and with Char Siu rice the Meat is very tender and tasty...Also we Had the Aburi Char Siu for the Side Dish the meat was dry because maybe it was cut so thinly but the presentation on the grill is Great maybe,Much better if they use Charcoal rather than Candle,I had tasted the Tempura Super Crunchy I just wonder why the Dipping Sauce is Like a Egg Salad,Not Very common for me.The place is Small but good for two to Four person in a table...I can Say it is Fresh,The Cupcake I think its Matcha flavored eat it Whole to get the Flavor.I enjoyed it,
The price range on some other Ramen house which is okey, not too cheap but not too expensive
Because of the pyro olympics we had a hard time to just walk-in. Medyo matagal lang kami na assist para sa reservation. Pero OK lng. No problem. Sulit nman ung service. Delicious food. Nice ambiance. Nice staffs. Busog sa sarap. :D thank you.
I really really liked this place and am now wondering why I used to pass by this restaurant without even thinking twice! They made me appreciate ramen today! I love how mild everything was and how perfectly balanced the flavors were in each bowl I had today.
They have really really good set orders for a great value. I had the set G which includes one small ramen and the mixed furai platter. It was worth 560+ and I was really surprised with the serving size!! It's called small but the ramen bowl was already big for me! I had the bestseller shio ramen and I really enjoyed how lightly creamy it was with a pinch of salt. I am one to shy away from ramen but I guess HRS will change this fact about me! The mixed furai platter was also great! Serving was big!! The salmon, katsu, and the tempura all tasted good. They also served me with a tiny matcha cake, which I loved! The cabbage salad was also a delight! Although tea has no refill and not complimentary~
Also had the strawberry panna cotta, which my bestfriend and I enjoyed! Tip : mix everything for better taste! Although I wish they will stock up on their puddings and other desserts, because I'm sure those would taste great as well!!
I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant as I really enjoyed my meal today. I am very satisfied with the amount of serving I was presented with, and the good service. Totally recommending this!! I cant wait to go back and finally try their pork cheeks!!
Being the first ( i think) ramen place in mall of asia, this place is our "go to" whenever we wanted something warm and soup-y noodles.
Currently, we tried their group meal. Such includes 6 of each: ramen bowls, gohan, iced tea. Also, two generous platters of katsus and some tempuras. We also...
Me and my GF have eaten here for several times. Their ramen is great for a quick fix. Also their sets are for sharing. I ordered their dipping ramen for the first time, its really good, saldy you can't order for extra noodles.
This fabulous miso ramen eatery has a fun trendy feel, with simple but cool decor. We stumbled into this small but unique Japanese place after getting forgotten by the staff at a neighboring food factory. All of our meals were fresh and flavorful, a brilliant evening. The staff were fun, polite and very helpful.
The ambiance was really Japanese, but the place also exudes that quality of classy-ness. I loved the interiors, and having there own Gachapon dispenser was a really nice touch! But of course, everything will go down if the food is bad. To cut this review short, the place matched the awesomeness with their food. Very Japanese and was very generous. The price is between pricey and not. The staff were the best, not the ones who keeps dodging you lol 🍜🍢🍥🍤🍛👌🏻
I remember I've eaten here 2 years ago, I am searching for a Japanese restaurant until I discover ramen santouka and I've ordered a large miso ramen. It's funny that I nearly can't finish the large ramen but still, I've finished it. Well, It's the best 1st experience and still the best ramen I've ever eaten
Nowadays, there is a wide array of ramen houses to choose from in the metro. And just like in Japan, ramen differ between areas and more so between ramen houses. I've tried quite a few aorund and like most of you, I have my favorites. I'm zeroing in on a ramen that I really like. I find Hokkaido Ramen Santouka's Tokusen Toroniko Ramen quite distinct. Primarily in the way it is served. The ramen and creamy broth is contained in a bowl while the meat and vegetables that go with it are contained in a separate bowl. And it's up to you to mix them all in when you eat it. For the broth, you can choose between Shio, Shoyu, Miso or Kara-Miso. Then the star of this ramen concoction would have to be the Roasted Pork Cheeks. Finely cut, tender and packed with flavor, it truly makes this ramen experience quite enjoyable. At P460 per order, this ramen dish may be a bit costly. But if you are to reward yourself once in a while with good ramen, Tokusen Toroniko Ramen is the right deal.
Hokkaido Ramen Santouka remains to be one of my favorite and top choices when it comes to Japanese ramen. Must try here are the kara-miso and shio ramen. Set meals are also available here. Set meals include small ramen, small rice bowl, choices of pork/prawn/chicken, salad, dessert and tea. I always enjoy the great ramen here.
My taste buds were looking for something Japanese. I was walking around MOA and this was the first resto that I found that screams Japanese. So I sat and ordered, and tried these two dishes. I got my self Miso Ramen and Pork Gyoza. I can say that it was worth my money. Would love to try other ramens here.
When it comes to Japanese ramen, I consider Hokkaido Ramen Santouka's one of the best I have tried. The soup base of the ramen is really full of flavour. The texture of the ramen is just right. Aside from the ramen, they also offer set meals that come with ramen and tonkatsu. Thus, getting the set meal will really satisfy you if you want both ramen and tonkatsu.
If you're looking for a great ramen, I would highly recommend this one Hokkaido Ramen Santouka! Actually, this was introduced to us by our Japanese Boss, and as to believing in him due to he was a Japanese we rush to this restaurant and ate! As to our surprised, for the first time we ate in here we actually loved their Ramen especially the shio ramen? I'm not quite sure but my favorite was the salty one. It was very very delicious you could actually ate up the whole bowl! Together with their gyoza. And oh, the second time we ate in here the egg was not available but eating ramen without egg is really really incomplete and so even if its a bit pricy we really pushed and waited for the eggs! Hehe! 🍵
I've tried the Char Siu Ramen in Shio, then upgraded it to big bowl.
So here's my first verdict, I definitely like how the pork meat was tender and tasty and also how the noodles been cooked semi-raw. Idk, or is it just me that love semi-raw noodles?
Well, the staffs are nice. They will always ask you if you want water or anything. Lol. But there's one thing that I've noticed, their "chili oil", it's not spicy for me. :(
Best ramen in the metro, i swear! Staff are also accommodating. the ramen is creamy, not as big of a serving compared to others but you will.be able to finish it all because it doesn't give you the "umay" feeling. I've tried a lot of ramen places because it's my boyriend's favorite food but by far, this is the best we ever had.
The ambiance of the place was black and white which was crisp/refreshing to see. The whole restaurant was narrow and if we went to the place around peak hours i think it would be difficult to go to the vacant seats. The menu's were already on the table and after we sat down, two glasses of chilled water was served. We ordered Small Ramen & Curry and Rice bowl set and a regular Shio Ramen. The small ramen that we ordered for the bowl set was Kara-Miso Ramen. Their serving time was around 6 to 8 minutes so we didn't wait long and the crew was very courteous and efficient. The Shio Ramen was really flavorful and it was really a long time since I ate a decent ramen so i very much enjoyed it. The Small Ramen & Curry Rice bowl set was also delectable and filling.
I believe their ramen + rice bowl set meals are the best items to order because they're super filling and sulit! I wish that they could offer unlimited rice for their set meals, though, because any kind of katsu is best paired with rice, not ramen! :D Another winner would be their mango juice, which had the consistency of a shake! I was a bit disappointed with their iced green tea, though. It tasted a little better with sugar syrup (but if you really want good iced green tea, visit Hanamaruken!). In addition, their katsus taste good enough, but I've had better. Overall, I'd still want to eat here again, especially since I have a big appetite! :D
RAMEN WARS REVIEW
Ate here with my friend a while back, I wanted to give them another shot to see if maybe my standards were too high the last time I dined in their Glorietta branch.
Their MOA branch was facing Manila Bay, and there was a very loud band playing that evening on the floor below so we opted to sit inside. The restaurant is extremely narrow, so I imagine it can only seat about 40 people inside. I'm pretty sure on a busy night it would be a struggle to move around because of the layout of the place.
We both ordered the shoyu ramen which arrived within less than 10 minutes due to there being little people at the time we ate. I also got my usual aji tamago to go along with my dish.
At first sip, the broth was somewhat better than I remembered. The noodles had an okay bite to them. The meat though, left much to be desired - it was tough to bite into and chewy, not tender at all. Their aji tamago was standard but usually when I eat it with my broth I notice the flavor changes and becomes tastier (a little weird fact I like to observe) but in this case it did not.
The more we ate, the less tasty the broth became to us. It was a struggle to finish my food once more, but I tried my best. So in the end, I realized it wasn't my imagination - Hokkaido Ramen Sentouka is not the kind of ramen for me. Over-all, I still think it is overrated and give it a 3.5 after having it twice.
By far this was the best ramen house for me ???? I ordered their specialty the one with the Iberico (sorry I forgot the name) with salty broth or shio I guess and it was really very good! Broth not literally salty it was creamy and full of flavor instead! My husband ordered the same but with the spicy broth same rating! I was amazed with their broth because it is not too rich so it doesn't make me feel "umay" but the flavor was really packed. Well I only tried two ramen houses and by far this doesn't par with the other one ????
Also I am a big fan of gyozas so I tried their Kurobota Gyoza and it was really good it reminded me of the gyozas from lavender "market" ( is it called market or eatery? Hehe anyways☺️) at singapore which I so got addicted to that I came back home weighing 20 pounds more hahaha!
Cheers to this ramen house!
Their signature dish is Shio Ramen, pork and seafood broth seasoned only with salt. We were pleasantly surprised with the tasty and creamy broth since at first we thought that the salt flavour might be too plain. The soup’s hotness was just right as it did not burn our tongues when we consumed it immediately after serving. Tender pork slices and mushrooms added texture to the ramen goodness. And just a note, that intriguing red topping is neither a tomato nor a chili. It is a pickled plum that packed a sour punch.
The thickly sliced piece of salmon tempura was crunchy and it did not have that malansa taste. Even better, when we took a bite of the prawn tempura, it was a full bite of the prawn. This one has the meat as its real star of dish and not the breading.

It was my first time to eat ramen, so I have no idea what it really tastes like, but I liked their shio ramen. It tasted simple, yet satisfying. Overall, my experience with the restaurant made me want to eat more ramen. Don't get me wrong, but their tonkatsu, salmon katsu and chicken gyoza tasted good, too.
I've tried Hokkaido Ramen Santouka exactly a year ago and here's my verdict:
I decided for a Shoyu Ramen (Php 330, medium). It was topped with nori, naruto, menma, negi and slices of pork. It wasn't so spectacular for me only that the braised beef was so tender and so flavorful! The medium-sized bowl was more than for me, I could be full with just small (Php 280). It was served in just the right temperature it didn't scald my tongue.
My first choice though was their special Santouka Chicken Ramen (Php 300), which according to the menu they only serve 15 bowls. I was able to taste it and it was way better than my shoyu. My friend really enjoyed hers, and I didn't even wonder why.
One of my friend also enjoyed his Ramen and Curry & Rice bowl set (Php 450) and was full afterwards. I got to try his ramen too and was I envious, again!
Maybe next time I should ask what their best-seller. Well, bank that to experience ;)
Enjoy eating,

Santuoka is still my go-to if I'm craving for ramen. Noodles are chewy-firm (perfect!), broth is not cloyingly rich with just the right amount of saltiness. I'm getting hungry just writing about it.
It was my first time to try Hokkaido Santouka Ramen and my
sister suggested that we get the set meal at a little over Php500 to get the
best value for money. We chose the set meal E that included a choice of ramen
(smaller serving than that of a full size order), salad (greens in sesame
dressing), shredded cabbage in what seemed like mayo dressing, fried salmon and
prawn, a bowl of rice, and tea. Note that they don’t serve complimentary tea as
compared to other Japanese dining establishments. My sister was also quite
disappointed because they used to offer unlimited rice to go with the set
meals. This time, we were given only one bowl of rice. The fried salmon and
prawn was juicy and flavorful, quite comparable to that of Yabu’s. The salad
with the sesame dressing was also pretty good but the serving was too small even
for one person. The shredded cabbage, unfortunately, was not as good because of
the overpowering mayo dressing. We chose Shio ramen to go with our set meal.
We still did order a full sized ramen though because the set
meal wasn’t enough for the two of us. For the full sized one, we had the Miso
ramen. Miso, as compared to Shio ramen tasted richer and more flavorful.
Personally, I preferred the Shio because of its lighter flavor. Both ramen were
good but not the best.
Customer service was okay. Our order came out pretty fast.
Halfway through our meal, a big group arrived and was seated at the table
beside ours. They had children with them that kept shouting and crying which greatly
ruined our dining experience. I just hope that people would be more sensitive and considerate of others. If I was part of that big group, I would've led the children outside and asked them to stop crying before going in again (or for babies or younger children, I would've stayed with them outside until they stop crying).
But overall, it was a good dinning experience.
We've been here twice, from two different branches, MOA and Ayala.
We find the food here worth the price. Only for this branch where there is unlimited rice per set meal. I wonder if that was just a promo or not? Because in Ayala, there is no unli rice. :p Anyway, the ramen here is sooooo delicious so is the kani salad. Sooo busog :D I love the food!
Their ramen is definitely one of the best I've tasted thus far. Very rich flavored soup and noodles are cooked just right. Great value for money as you'll leave this resto with a full stomach and a smile.
This was a pleasant experience and the food was authentic in flavor. The staff were well trained in customer service. Have even been back since and it remains consistently good.
Santouka is arguably my favorite ramen joint, mainly because of the kara miso! It's all I've tried from this place, but I go back to it again and again. I assume the set meals are a bang for your buck, but I've never tried them, because just the regular bowl is enough to get me really full. I hope they open up more branches soon.
I ate here with my dad and my sister last month, and we all enjoyed it! The set meal was pretty heavy, so my sister and i just shared it. This ramen house also falls on my top 3 ramen restaurants. 2 thumbs up!
Umay.
We ordered the set meals that range from 500 to 700 pesos depending on the size of the ramen, with accompanying side dish of salmon cutlet or ebi tempura (4 pieces), one cup of tea (no refill), egg, and mango+watermelon slices for dessert.
The soup base was really flavorful and filling by itself, which makes finishing the noodles and the side dishes quite a daunting task. For the tempura and the cutlet, it was also heavily breaded although properly drained.
