Craving for a japanese resto and we decided to try this one. I liked the branch since it’s not crowded and the service crews because they’re so attentive to our needs. The food is great too especially the makis. I just hope they have more choices on their menu. Will definitely try their other menu soon.

This place is a decent place to get your tempura fix for a fair price. Their dishes are prettty good and their tempura batter is really nice and crispy, but a bit too greasy. Their side dishes are great too, i especially love the cheese and tofu. I live their tempura sauce which goes great with rice.

I was craving Tempura so I decided to stop by at Tenya. It’s my first time at this branch and it’s pretty consistent with the other branches. The flavors are on point and it’s crispy good. It wasn’t oily at all and I love it when it’s mostly shrimp than batter.

Love their tempura ♥️ it's really something :) though I'm a bit disappointed with the fried salmon..it's a bit dense for my taste. Overall i love the service :) staff is super friendly!

Definitely one of my favorite tempura places in the metro. The batter is light and fluffy, the shrimps are huge, and the vegetables are perfect for the light banner. Love their tempura sauce, glad that they have it on the tableside so I can drench my rice with it.

A feast for the eyes! I ordered their tempura set and found the presentation of the food very appealing, almost similar to what I had in Japan. But it isn’t just all about the presentation. Food tastes really great; you may opt for their special sauce instead of the tempura sauce for that extra ‘kick.’ Kick means tendon-like taste which lives to what the name of the restaurant is, it specializes in tendon. Other than their food, the ambiance is also cozy and the service is truly awesome. This can easily be one of my top food choices whenever I’m at the Mall of Asia.

As of now for me Tenya is synonymous to Shrimp/Prawn as KFC is to Chicken. Its amazing how they are able to consistently maintain quality for a type of product that has a considerably slimmer window of freshness compared to other staples such as chicken. My dining experience in their Mall of Asia branch is quite consistent with the culinary trysts that I had in their other branches. The prawn is certified fresh and fried just right. The sauce perfectly compliments the deep fried prawn. As always their service is fast and efficient couldnt really argue with it.

Good Japanese food, great service, and nice ambience. Price is very reasonable. I always go for the all star tendon tempura set --- good value for money. Tiger prawn tempuras are really good, salmon and mushrooms included. I love this because it really is complete. You might also want to try the ramen + gyoza set. Stay away from the makis. This branch is very consistent with the food.

Going to MOA during the weekends is fun, up until dinnertime. Choosing a decent resto that is kid friendly, tasty and not crowded is pretty challenging. It's like hunger games I tell you. Good thing there are new restaurants in MOA's Entertainment Mall, North Wing side. Mostly japanese and dessert shops. We ate at Tenya Tempura Tendon. They have cozy chairs and modern interiors and our food arrived in the cutest container basket thingy? It was different from your usual food presentation, but the food was spot on. I'm no tempura connoisseur but I know a good tempura when I taste one. The outside is crispy with a light batter, and the shrimp is juicy and tasty. Yum!

There's no better place to go for your tempura cravings than here. This has to be our favorite tempura joint ever - all outlets we've visited, i'll give them all 5's.

Their Tendon selections are enough to fill you up. If you're one of those who are blessed with bigger capacity down there, go for their sets.

The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Serving time, 15-20 minutes. Food was great; big servings as always. They give you your money's worth. Tenya Tempura Tendon is a definite 5.0 for me

The ambiance is good, comfy seats, enough space on isles, food is great! Well-presented, serving size enough for 1- value for money. They have set meals and rice topping meals, options available depending on your hunger level ;-)

Btw, the staff are accommodating.

I’ll give 3/5 to the place, (4/5) serving time and (4/5) food. The thing I dislike about Tenya is the lack of choice, I know the name itself is “Tenya TEMPURA tendon” which I presume is that their best dish is the Tempura however, If I’m going to eat here with friends or family, this will not be on my list. Imagine ordering 3-5 dishes and all of it are tempure or with tempura dish. But if I’m craving for some good old tempura, I think Tenya is a way to go.

The batter used for the tempura is different from the usual panko flakes, but works well for them as it makes their tempuras unique. The tiger prawns were fresh and delicious, but was lacking in size (it seemed bigger before). The rice was, at first, not cooked very well. It was too wet and mushy, so we had it replaced. The replacement rice came out fine, though. Good and delicious, it was. Price was a bit too steep for me at around 100 pesos per (small) piece of tempura (around 300 for 3pc tempura rice topping). The miso soup that came with it was good (it had lots of negi / green onions, which I like). Tea was okay, I think they use hōjicha, but I may be wrong. Oh, and their bowls were nice! I think they're hand-painted!

Food was served very quick, and our server, Janine, was very nice and accommodating.

I've always been a fan of Tempura growing up. It's the ultimate Japanese kids treat- a finger food, fried, tasty with a matching savory dip and warm plain rice.

Tenya has grown fast and will likely to expand further. They've mastered the art of Tendon or Tempura with rice. And they even offer this with a series of fresh battered seafood and vegetables combinations.

I got their Classic Tendon for an affordable price tag of just Php 225 net. It had black tiger prawn, squid, kisu (a type of fish), green beans and sweet potato with a side hot miso soup and their signature dontare sauce. All its components were not too greasy and yet cooked well. This bowl was really filling and satisfying.

Tenya also offers more complex combinations on a Donburi bowl. They have a visual guide and I bet you can even customized what you like.

Since this is just newly opened resto in MOA eats, the place was clean and ambience was very cool. The servers were very attentive to our needs and explained well the items on their menu.

We ordered the ramen with mixed tempura set. Taste wise it was yummy. Wish i had ordered the set with more shrimp tempuraas it was very tasty. The serving was good enough to fill my hungry stomach.

Will come bavk again for sure.

I was here for a late dinner, alone and hungry 😁 all i wanted was a hot soup and a comforting plate of tempura to fan my hunger pangs away!

I had the Jo Tempura set with Japanese Rice, Tempura set with two Tiger Prawns, Kani, some onion-shrimp fritter/tempura (which was good) and sweet potato, I had the soba in hot broth. Food was good as usual and satisfying. Well worth the price.

Hot green tea was complimentary upon request

Staff was accomodating and warm. Despite the near closing hours, service was not hurried but still efficient. One blip was that I had asked for their salt sampler (in curry/wasabi/etc) but I guess the server forgot (out of curiousity anyway)

Always a safe haven for my tempura cravings😉

Was hoping to try someplace new at moa and ended up at the newly opened restaurants section near imax (im sure the place has a name but i cant remember what). Went to Tenya Tempura Tendon simply because their's was the only waitstaff to call out to me while I was looking around, plus points to them for that.

I had the Asakusa Special Tempura Teishoku (3 prawns, green beans, japanese rice, potato salad, and miso soup)

The food was okay. Maybe 3.5 stars out of 5. I liked the potato salad the most. The miso soup and rice was okay, nothing special (though i'd like to thank one reviewer for the donburi sauce on rice tip). The tempura was nothing special and was a bit too oily for my liking.

The service was okay although I think they should be more attentive when it comes to serving drinks. Because I was already I quarter of the way through my meal already when they deigned to served me water though I asked for that when I gave my order. It may seem minor but I've noticed most restaurants serve water while guests are waiting for their meals.

All in all my dining experience was okay though it might take a while before I come back again.

Though not originated in Japan, the Japanese has evolved tempura to the way we enjoy them today. The Japanese originally deep-fry their food without breading or batter. However, during the end of the 16th century, Portuguese missionaries living in Japan introduced a frying method of dipping food in a flour and egg mixture that was usually eaten during Lent. Over a few decades, Japan’s food stall culture (Yatai Culture) upgraded the cooking method even more to keep the delicate taste of fresh seafood by changing the batter mix. After the Meiji era, tempura was no longer considered a fast food item, but instead developed as a high-class cuisine.

Although the boyfriend have shrimp allergy, I agreed to eat here. And we didn't regret our decision. He ordered the ordinary tempura bowl with 3pcs of tempura in it while I ordered the one with salmon and squid. The tempura was surprisingly good. It was cooked deliciously. Plus the squid was also equally good. The salmon on the other hand was obviously not fresh when you get to taste it. We also had their fried chicken. I cant remember what it's called but it's the one deboned with Japanese mayo on the side and it was also great. It was just kinda disappointing that they don't serve gyoza. Overall, we had a great lunch! A must try restaurant for all you Japanese food lovers out there.

We were in Mall of Asia for dinner after doing some groceries. We couldn't decide on where to eat so we brought dad over to the new #MOAEATS hall. It's a relatively "new" section beside the IMAX theater which has different restaurants for you to try. Last time we were here, we only got to try Morganfield's and Paper Moon.

We checked the menu for most and ended up at Tenya. The photos outside were very convincing. Plus I've been craving for Tempura for quite some time now.

I got the Asakusa Soba Set which had 3 tempura pieces with vegetable tempura, a cup of rice, and cold soba noodles. The noodle set can be soba or udon and both can either be hot or cold. My dad's a fan of hot udon so he got that. 😜

The whole set was able to make me full. I'm happy that I got to have cold soba, but if you choose that set, there's no miso soup. The Teishoku set comes with miso soup.

Soba: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tempura: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rice: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (add their special donburi sauce 👍🏼)

Value for money wise, it's not bad because it gets you full. Taste wise it's pretty average. What disappointed me was the tempura wasn't piping hot when it came to the table - like the ones you get when the buffet is newly refilled. I half expected it would be still quite warm because it did take a while to be served.

In a mall this huge, it's not easy finding the right kind of casual dining experience. If you're looking for this kind if Japanese dining, Tenya fits the boot. For a meal set that's under Php500 (Photo below! Also, house hot tea free!) and good for two, you're definitely getting a good deal. CUTE THING: Kiddie meals are served in toy cars.

I was craving for katsu or tempura and remembered that I came across this new tempura place around Mall of Asia, so we decided to go for it. Tenya's ambiance is similar to any Japanese restaurants, except that their chairs are blue and yellow instead of the usual red/ black/ white. I did, however, admired the hanging box-shaped lights and pink and white flowers.

I was craving for Japanese food and saw here that Tenya Tempura Tendon looked good so I decided to try it. 😁

I ordered All Star Tempura Soba Set. It is a set of prawn, squid, salmon, kani stick, green beans and mushroom with Japanese rice, tempura sauce, radish, leeks, ginger and cold soba.

I was very satisfied and amazed that everything was freshly prepared. The tempura set was all crispy and warm. The squid was not chewy but instead when you bite into it, it felt like butter that melts in your mouth (I am not kidding, it's soft when you bite into it). The shrimp, salmon and kani stick were soft and moist that you can taste their own unique flavors. The vegetables were very crispy and tasted delicious. Cold soba tasted really authentic (it tasted the same like the ones they sell in Japan) even the rice was hot. They even have mugi tea! 💕🍵

I love the staffs' service. They were very attentive and very kind to me. They even explained their menu and were very patient while waiting for my order.

All in all, I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. I will also go back here when I crave for Japanese food again!

Was glad to be one of the first customers when Tenya opened last Friday (Dec16) I wasn't that hungry just curious so I ordered the Classic Tendon, most basic set - which had a shrimp tempura, fried string beans, fried kisu fish and squid. Was expecting it to be crunchier but the sauce that they poured on the bowl kinda doused it. It was so-so but service was great. Will return. By the way only cash was accepted.
