Oysters were amazing. Lamb and scallops were grilled to perfection. The foie gras was mindblowing. Inspite of the good food, their really refreshing Singapore Sling is reason enough to keep coming back. Service was excellent. They also have a somelier on standby to recommed wines by the bottle or to pair with the meal.

I'm that kind of person who will splurge when it comes to food. As a foodie, I am also always on the hunt for good food that doesn’t break my wallet. However, I am also a firm believer that there are some places you would spend for, for the ultimate gastronomical experience.

I’ve always wanted to dine here, but was skeptical for a while due to the higher price point. My curiosity got the better of me though - and I’m glad it did. I would admit, my dining experience here is one of the best.

First things first - the ambiance, I really love! It’s perfect for dates, but also nice to dine with friends and family. But if you want to dine here alone, that’s fine too, because it’s really quiet here. The staff are also friendly and really accommodating.They are willing to help first-timers like me in ordering.

Next. The food. They introduced their new menu last May 2019 and though, I am not a fan of fine dining, in general, because some of the places I’ve dined, were overpriced with standard tasting food. But, no regrets paying for the bill afterwards in Ruby Jack’s.

Teppan Grilled Foie Gras
⭐⭐⭐⭐

What a way to start the meal. The Japanese style soy sauce and daikon really complements the richness of the foie gras.

A3 Wagyu Steak w/ Cartlidge Browne Cabernet Sauvignon Pairing
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

They have a bunch of steak options, from their Wagyu selection with different grades, their 45-day dry-aged selection, and John Dee Super Gold Grain-Fed Steaks. So, we asked the waiter to recommend a steak and wine pairing for us, that suits our taste - since I don’t like too much marbling from the A5 in my steak. We had our steak medium, and it was soft, and marbled just right. Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve had.

Wagyu Enhanced Steak Rice
⭐⭐⭐⭐

For sides, we chose their rice, because we really wanted rice for our steak. And the rice was really flavorful, with real beef chunks.

Truffle Mac and Cheese
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We also ordered their truffle mac, as recommended by our waiter, and it’s one of the best I’ve tried, because the truffle aroma and flavor is really strong, but doesn’t overpower the cheese. The panko crust on top gives the mac and cheese more texture and bite.

Dessert Plate for Two⭐⭐⭐⭐

To end the fantastic meal, we ordered the Dessert for Two plate that features three of their signature desserts:

Pandan Pavlova
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Really good mix of the buko pandan sago, fruits, and kaya jam. Their buko ice cream is good too.

Cranberry Pomegranate Agar
⭐⭐⭐

Very refreshing to eat after the rich Pavlova, with fresh fruits and peach sorbet.

Double Baked Cheesecake with Rosemary Ice Cream - Passion Fruit Curd
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Really love this one - the cheesecake tastes like creme brulee cheesecake. And the ice cream, like the one from the Pandan Pavlova is the bomb. They don’t melt easily, and have a bite to them.

Overall, everything we ate was amazing, and I’m dreaming of the next time we get to visit and try their other steaks. Next on the list - will try their fresh oysters when I come back again.

Excellent place if you love steak. They serve the best. The ingredients are the finest which make up for the great flavor in their dishes. For my personal faves: Jack’s Cobb salad, steak and classic mojito.

Had lunch with the family here after my brother’s graduation. It was our first time to try this restaurant and we were not disappointed. I liked the dim and quiet ambience of the restaurant. The service was also good.

We were served complementary bread with an oil dip. We ordered Onion Soup, Caesar Salad, John Dee Super Gold 160 Day Grain Fed Black Angus T-bone, Steak rice and Mashed potatoes. I was delighted at how tender and flavorful the steak was. Worth the hefty price.
Also a plus that they served complementary dessert or the graduate 👌🏻

Ruby Jack’s Steakhouse is a fine dining restaurant at COD. I was really eyeing this place for a long time as its interiors scream elegance and sophistication.

Having an eat up here with my Zomato family is truly remarkable. I’ve learned that this steakhouse originated from Japan. We were served a lot during this visit and everything was just so good.

** Black Angus Carpaccio
When they say that presentation is the key, they mean it. This was presented beautifully with tomatoes, leaves and homemade ricotta. I didn’t know that thinly sliced raw meat can be very addicting if it’s
paired with simple but spot on ingredients. Definitely having this on my next visit!

** Coconut Flamed Foie Gras
I’m a lover of foie gras tbh so I was kind of excited for this one. Preparing this in front of us was a sight to behold. I loved how silky the texture was in each bite.

** Sizzling Scallops
I remember this to be really flavorful due to the butter. It’s a good food to start the feast.

** Char Grilled Local Yellow Fin Tuna
My mom loves yellow fin tuna so this may not come as a surprise for my palate. However, Ruby Jack’s version was good too that made me get more servings of this. It was cooked well done but it still remained to be soft and tender.


** Tomahawk Steak
This gotta be the star of our lunch. This was really huge and cooked medium. It’s very tasty, and I think it was seasoned perfectly.

** Teppan Grilled Atlantic Salmon
It’s no secret that salmon is one of my favorites and Ruby Jack’s version made me crave for more.

DESSERT

Among all the desserts they served, my favorites would be the dark peppermint chocolate and the bakes Sizzling Cheesecake.

I’m one of the few who likes the combination of mint and chocolate. It’s weird for some, but the taste is spot on for me. The sizzling cheesecake is kind of new to me as this was just the first time I had something like that. It was very milky, and the sauce was like dulce de leche. The cheesecake’s texture was good too. It was such a heavenly dessert.

We were first offered with Black Angus Carpaccio with Whipped Homemade Ricotta, Sugar Tomatoes and Rocket for appetizer. Other main entrees were also served:

• Oregano Brushed Torched Bell Peppers
• Truffle Scented Cauliflower Gratin
• Creamed Spinach
• Grilled Atlantic Salmon
• Rare Char-Grilled Local Yellowfin Tuna
• Sizzling Scallops with Whipped Shio Konbu Butter and Dalandan (Must Try!!)
• Coconut Flamed Foie Gras with Caramelized Pineapple-Cashew Dukkah

But the star of the show for me was the Tomahawk Steak. 6kg worth of medium rare meat for the barbaric side of me :) seasoned and grilled to perfection!

We were treated with a bunch of desserts but I would highly recommend the Double Baked Sizzling Cheesecake with Coriander Ice Cream & Salted Caramel and Assorted Handmade Chocolates which consists of Mandarin Ganache, Dark Peppermint, Nougat, Apple Pie with Streusel Crumbles in Choco, & Tiramisu.

They also serve other desserts that suits your palate:

• Pimm's No.1 Garden (Lemon Cheesecake, Pimm's No.1 Jelly, and cucumber ice cream
• Pearls of Asia (Lychee Agar and sorbet, coconut espuma, and tapioca pineapple)

Ruby Jack's is a contemporary fine dining steakhouse originally from Tokyo, they opened their first branch here in the Philippines back in 2015. With posh and elegant surroundings, it screams fine-dine but with a comfortable feel.

I rarely venture to this part of Metro Manila, but we were recently invited for a Zomato FMU and I just couldn't pass up the chance. Ambiance was amazing without being too intimidating, and service was top-notch! 👌🏻 But we're really here for the food, right? Let's get to it!

STARTERS:

🍽 Coconut Flamed Foie Gras
Foie Gras which is French for "fat liver" and considered by many as a delicacy, Ruby Jack's version was to die for. It has a rich and smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture. It's delicate and perfectly paired with the sweet and tangy caramelized pineapple. The bits of cashew gave it a nice contrast to its soft texture.

🍽 Black Angus Carpaccio
Carpaccio, a thinly sliced raw meat, was an elegant hors d'oeuvre to our lunch. Presented beautifully and topped with fresh tomatoes and rocket leaves, it is both a feast on the eyes and the stomach. It has a soft and tender texture with a fresh and delectable taste. The homemade ricotta was a nice addition as it gave the dish a meaty creamy flavor.

🍽 Sizzling Scallops
All that glistening shio butter didn’t help me at resisting this dish, at all. The scallops had the perfect texture, it was chewy without being rubbery and it was soft without being goopy. The butter brought out all sorts of flavor to it.

MAINS

🍽 Tomahawk Steak
I guess it's safe to say that everyone got really excited when this came out. I mean really, who wouldn't be? Ideal for sharing due to its huge size and aptly named as it resembles the Tomahawk axe, this was the ultimate star of our lunch. Cooked medium rare, it is tender with an earthy and smokey taste. I really enjoyed it.

🍽 Teppan Grilled Atlantic Salmon
Salmon is my favorite fish. Ruby Jack’s version was beautifully presented, it has a mild creamy texture. It almost melts in your mouth upon each bite and very flavorful.

🍽 Char Grilled Local Yellow Fin Tuna
They served two versions of this dish, one was cooked medium rare and the other was well done. I tried both and I prefer the well done version. There is indeed a huge difference in taste depending on how it was cooked. Unlike the salmon which has a mild flavor, this one was bursting with flavor and has a beef-like texture. It is slightly sweet and dense, top quality tuna right there.

SIDES

🍽 Creamed Spinach
It has a smooth and velvety texture, full of flavor and seasoned perfectly. I think I consumed half of the serving. ✌🏻

🍽 Truffle Scented Cauliflower Gratin
Creamy and tasty, there’s a nice crunch to the cauliflower which indicates that it was cooked perfectly and not overdone which sometimes happens to gratin dishes. The truffle was mild and not too overpowering which was a plus point for me. I couldn’t get enough of this dish, it was the perfect side dish with the Tomahawk Steak.

Okay, it’s kinda hard to choose the best from all these mouth-watering desserts. Seriously, everything was plated beautifully I almost didn’t want to touch it. Almost.

Well, my top 2 picks would probably be the Double Baked Sizzling Cheesecake and the Pimm’s No. 1 Garden. Sizzling Cheesecake, wait what? Yes, sizzling cheesecake, folks! The cheesecake was served on a piping hot stone plate, then the salted caramel sauce was poured and just hear it sizzle! It was smooth and fluffy, sweet and sinful. I loved it! The caramel sauce created a beautiful velvety texture to the cheesecake which will make you come back for more. The Pimm’s No. 1 Garden on the other hand was a nice palate cleanser, it has a refreshing and clean-tasting feel. Plus it was just too pretty, perfect for the ‘gram! 😅

Overall, it was an amazing experience dining at Ruby Jack’s. Impeccable service with top-quality divine dishes! I’d recommend this place for date night or a get-together with friends. Price point is good considering all those amazingly good food. If you’re looking for your next steakhouse place, Ruby Jack’s it is! ✨

Ruby Jack's Manila is a steakhouse franchise from Tokyo Japan. The Epicurean Partner Exchange brings the restaurant here in the Philippines, yes they are the same group behind Erwin's Gastrobar and Tori Ichi. The steakhouse is located at The City of Dreams Manila.

The interior of the place is very intimate. Especially for those who wants to bring their special someone into a real nice fine dine in set up. The place is intimidating if you're not in your proper attire.
