Honest-to-goodness hearty claypot meats on rice. Dimsum made from scratch! If your kind of Chinese is grease, overpowering salt and MSG, go elsewhere. This place is for comfort, freshness and real flavor.
My experience is definitely worth coming back. A taste of fusion; a taste of quality and superb dinning. You don't have to travel to Singapore, Malaysia or Hong kong to get the mouth watering menu. Just travel to Alabang and make your reservations. It's a 5 star gastronomic.
I’ve eaten here twice and I think everything is good! I particularly would go here for the Laksa (it’s very difficult to find good authentic tasting Laksa in the Philippines) and the Milk Tea. Hope they’d serve Yuan Yang too but I guess they’ll need to serve Kopi first before we get there. A breakfast menu would be a nice addition but I’m really not too sure how many people here would regularly go out for a Chinese/Singaporean breakfast.
Try their milk tea! Your meal is not complete without it!
I Love the Ah-bu & braised pork in snow bun!
Siomai's one of the best i've tried. Not to mention, it's the only siomai my picky-eater son eats!
Husband's favorite is their fish. Perfectly cooked!
I will surely be back. The food I tried last Sunday —-duck, siomai, dumpling, steam fish, and laksa were all very good. I am not very fond of sweets so the milk tea is perfect for me, not too sweet. Keep it up dear Johanne!
Excellent food! Service is also top notch .Very happy to have this option in the south!
Im not kidding, one of the best ‘chinese’ (hk/sg) in the south.. must try - Laksa, pork buns, that ‘meaty’ siomai, and thomson pork hotpot.. looking forward to try more next time specially the binondo beef noodle soop..
Quality food. Excellent service. Must try shrimp siomai, Thomson Road Roasted Pork, Duck breast, Seafood Coconut soup, Steamed Pomfret. Hot Taro soup for dessert.
Loved the experience. Clean and great atmosphere. You’ll enjoy the braised pork and their Shu mai. There was eight of us and everyone had a great experience.
Excellent Chinese food! Try out the braised pork buns and the seafood coconut soup!
Food was great with service that was equally good. Been to a lot of Chinese restaurants But this tops it all.
Service was fast and attentive
Food was amazing
Owner is a great guy and super friendly
Get the laksa, roast duck and roast pork bun! You’re welcome!
It was our first time dining here and it did not disappoint. Will definitely come back again.
The only restaurant I've discovered so far that serves delicious char siew claypot rice. Absolutely delicious. Will come back for more!
Friendly and helpful staff
The seafood laksa was good, the noodles used is like the typical chinese misua. The soup was thick and tasty. Some food we ordered but not in picture are the siomai & porck belly cua pao. I found the pork belly too fatty 90% fat to 10% meat - too fatty for my liking. The duck on the other hand was good with cucumber, cilantro & hoisin sauce.
Tried their Thomson Road Char Siu Noodles. The char siu given to me were good sizes and they gave 4 pcs. It was really tasty as well. I likes the buckwheat noodles since it was chewy. As for the soup it was very light and subtle. All in all it is good if you like light and subtle tastes. The chef was nice and gave us complimentary ice cream so that was nice.
Great place for Chinese food in Alabang. Service is great, portions are big.
Get the charsiu platter and order extra buns. I’ll definitely be back again.
They have amazing service. Get the char siu platter!! It’s more generous than you think so just order the smaller one first haha! (It’s only 100 pesos to add 6 more buns if you run out!) The best! Their shrimp siomai is packed with so much whole shrimp!
Underrated! A unique Chinese food experience!
Order the charsiu platter 5/5
Siomai 5/5
Laksa 4/5
Service 5/5
Best time to go during merienda time.
Friendly and accomodating staff. Clean restaurant. A bit on the expensive but you pay for quality. I will definitely go back for the buns and the free ice cream.
Food was okay to good. We had shrimp siomai, which was bigger than usual, but tasted like one of those frozen ones you buy in Binondo.
On the other hand, the Binondo beef mami didn't taste like any of the mami sold in Binondo. It's not bad, it was okay, just not authentic Binondo quality (Eric grew up in Binondo and has been eating mami for as long as he can remember, so he should know). It was a bit oily as well.
The seafood laksa was good, but the soup was a little thick for our liking.
But the char siu platter was really, really good. It was sticky, tender and juicy. It was sweet and savory at the same time. Absolutely delicious! So, 3 stars for the char siu and 1/2 star for everything else, and 1/2 star for the mural on the wall, which was amazing!
Loved the shrimp siomai and shirmp wonton here. Shirimps were very fresh. Laksa was very tasteful also although i found the soup too thick and rich. The Thomson Road charsiu platter was very good and a perfect match to the cua pao buns. The small size serves 3. The buns were very fresh too. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Cooking time was very quick too. Very reasonable pricing. Will definitely be back.
Favorite Chinese restaurant in Alabang! Super good food and nice ambiance. Must trys for first timers are: giant siomai, cuapao and laksa ❤️👌Bring a friend. Their servings are huge, you won't be able to finish it alone.
Great Laksa and pork buns!!! Very flavorful! The serving size is also good. Their siomai and steamed fish is also a must try. Will be back here!!
The buns and laksa were simply amazing. We love the siomai and the steamed pomfret as well. The staff were all helpful and accommodating. And the restaurant is comfortable and very very clean
Two words: Roast pork.
If you're craving for authentic Asian roast pork, this is the place. Excellent fat to meat ratio. Succulent on each bite. Goes well with the mantao or plain rice.
The dumplings here are also divine. Can't miss.
Steak was weirdly out of place but surprisingly okay.
Was in Molito doing some bank transactions on a Thursday just before lunch and decided to eat in the same area. Walking from the bank to the restos area we passed by Thomson Road and decided to go in. We had the claypot chicken, seafood laksa, char siu bun and garden bun (I don’t remember the name). Pleasantly surprised with the food and service so will definitely be a returning customer.
Great place for either a long leisurely brunch or a busy dinner with friends! The pork buns, clay pot rice and laksa were all very enjoyable!! Love the chic yet cozy ambience!!
Tried Thomson road for the first time last oct 27. Service was fast, serving size good for a family of 3 big boys and a mom. The roasted pork platter with snow buns was awesome. Meat well seasoned, works well with the cilantro and snow buns. The mango hindi sago dessert was exceptional, lots of mangoes, mango sorbet with chia. The laksa is good and would very good if they made the soup a tad less thick. But overall i got thumbs up from my family and we see ourselves coming back again.
We first heard of Thomson Road through a friend’s Facebook post, and she claimed it was the best Chinese restaurant in the area. We don’t frequent to the south (of Manila) and only visit when attending an event. ‘Lo and behold, we recently attended a seminar in the area, and it became our priority to visit this talked-about restaurant.

Referred by a good friend who speak highly of this restaurant, and as soon as I got the chance to visit Alabang, Thomson Road became my first priority.
I went here with my cousin and I think we over-ordered because everything looked great and we wanted to try them all. We had a double order of their bun, and they suggested to try both buns. The braised pork belly bun is filled with chunky pork belly and crushed peanuts, giving a chunky and nutty texture. The roasted pork bun, on the other hand, is more moist because of the rich sauce, which also became a bit salty, but the true flavors were present and gives an appetizing taste.
We also tried their famous laksa, or seafood in coconut milk as stated in the menu. I guess it was named that way because it was not spicy, so as not to set expectations. The coconut milk and turmeric combo gave the right consistency and a hint of spiciness that makes it addicting. The contents of the soup which has prawns, fish cakes, and tofu, were soft and delicious. It was one of the best laksa I have tried, and I am a bit biased because I am not a fan of spicy foods.
We also tried the shrimp dumplings with vinaigrette but was a bit disappointed. I am not sure if the chili on top was to be added with the vinegar on the table because the dumplings were dry. The skin was also thicker leaving a bland taste. Nevertheless, the dessert gave a sweet ending. We tried the Mango Not Sago, a modern take on the classic mango sago but with the use of chia seeds. The mango smoothie-like ice cream is mixed with an abundance of chia seeds and topped with mango chunks. It was cold, sweet, and incredibly satisfying.
In the end, I guess it can be considered one of the best Chinese restaurants in the south area.
If you're craving authentic flavorful claypot rice, I suggest thomson road. Especially their signature thomson road claypot. The pork is really melt-in-the-mouth soft and marinated well. We also ordered the duck breast claypot and I really like it (though on our 2nd visit, it seems to be a little gamey). Never underestimate their pork shrimp dumpling too. We ordered it as an appetizer and man it's the heaviest dumpling we ever tried. The shrimp and pork is so compact that I doubt an air could even pass through it :P
PS. If they ask you if you want claypot rice or noodles to go in your dish, always choose the former one . Believe me, the noodle soup is too bland that I can't bring myself to give 5 stars on this almost perfect dishes.
PPS. I'm sorry. My pics didn't give justice for the food's actual presentation.
Totally enjoyed one of the very best shrimp siomai’s, which was a meal in itself as it was huge. The Roasted Pork on clay pot rice was not only tender and succulent but reminded me of a good Resto in Hongkong. Service was excellent. Highly recommended. Will certainly be back to try other dishes.
Everything we ordered was very good. We had the seafood laksa, Siomai, roast duck with claypot rice and the mango (not) sage. Service was also good. I don’t know what the other reviewer was complaining about 😌. There was no special service given to the other guests and the owner/chef came to greet my companion at the end of the meal.
I’ve been seeing mouthwatering photos of bork buns from my friends. I had to try this place. Ordered the thomson road roasted pork platter. To me this was the best tasting bun in the menu. The small one was good for six. Also got briased pork bun. It was okay. For my main, i got duck breast on claypot rice. It was good. I liked it. Meat was tender. Be careful its really hot. For dessert, i tried the mango hindi (not) sago. I liked it. Not too sweet, refreshing.
Thomson Road is an excellent addition to the Alabang dining scene. We went to their soft opening and were very pleased with their food. One of their signature dishes is the roast pork bun. It was overflowing with tenderly caramelized pork and leaves you licking your lips. They also recommended their laksa, which came with thick, flavorful soup that hits the spot. Since this is still a soft opening, keep an eye out on them as they introduce more dishes.
Casually browsing on Zomato, I came across Thomson Road Chinese Bistro which immediately caught my eye. I dropped by on a Saturday night to give their interesting menu a try and I must say, the food was absolutely delicious -- it took me back to the streets of Hong Kong where classic, rich asian flavours perfectly blended well in every dish.
A definite must-try:
1. Seafood Coconut Soup - This was a winner. The soup tasted of curry topped off with fish tofu, fish cake and a whole lot of noodles that balanced the rich, spicy flavors of the dish. Good for two people and pretty filling too.
2. Roasted Pork Over rice - Rice lovers, this is for you. I definitely enjoyed this as there was a perfect rice to meat ratio and the char siu sauce was to die for. The pork was tender and well marinated that made every bite reminiscent of hole-in-the-wall finds in Hong Kong that served amazingly savory Chinese dishes.
3. Shrimp Siomai - Biggest Siomai i’ve seen in Manila, no joke. It was well worth what we paid for as there was a generous amount of shrimp, that tasted heavenly. If you’ve got a knack for spicy food, put some of their quality chili that adds a delicious kick to your food.
When it comes to good Chinese food, Thomson Road Chinese Bistro does it best. Even with its simple menu, their dishes do not disappoint. Will definitely head back here again!
The most succulent, melt-in-your-mouth charsiu with crisp, honey-sweet edges. The laksa is to die for! Their siomai is THE REAL THING--no extenders. Their milk tea has just the right amount of sweetness. You'll love Thomson Road's decor too. (You'll think you went to Ongpin or China--depending on which side of the resto you're sitting on.)
as a Chinese man who's gone to so many Chinese restaurants already (locally and abroad) and eaten so many kinds of Chinese food, i can truly say that the Chinese food in this place is not just excellent, but excellent like no other!
Thomson Road serves well-loved Chinese recipes but infused with exquisite taste and extraordinary creativity, resulting in memorably delightful creations of epicurean proportions.
you must try the seafood coconut soup, the steamed pomfret, and of course, his specialty - the char siu (roasted pork)!
PS: i did not get any "complimentary food" or any freebies at all, even though i'm Chinese. perhaps i should complain? ;)
We were a large group that dined here (11 pax), and were pretty surprised how good it was, given they were still on soft opening.
Their menu is short but well curated. We enjoyed their Laksa (Seafood Coconut soup on the Menu) because it was hot and spicy and the broth consistency was between thick and thin - which is exactly where it should be.
Their pork buns platter was really fun for the table, build your own buns and then just add in the sauce (we liked it so much we probably asked for 3 additional servings) and some fresh wansoy, and for something so simple, it was really good.
We were with 8 guys so the claypot rice bowls were wiped out before I even got to them, judging from how fast they went, I’ll be sure to get my own next time.
My fave would have to be the Steamed Pomfret. Steamed fish with ginger and leeks is always a winning combo but the crispy onions on top and how juicy the fish was, will make me return here and order this dish just for myself, next time no sharing :)
My only recommendations would be for them to just serve oolong as their house tea AND expand their dessert menu for a complete Chinese food fix next visit. If they could add a red bean pancake or sesame balls - that would be awesome.
Chinese food with an amazing twist. Having been born into a Chinese Family, my family would rather dine at any other restaurant besides Chinese. We were reluctant to try this restaurant JUST BECAUSE IT'S CHINESE, but THOMSON ROAD CHINESE BISTRO BLEW US AWAY.
The ROASTED PORK BUNS was one of my favorites. The moment the staff placed the dish in front of us, I was in awe and I scrambled to get my camera to take the photo of the presentation. But this dish didn't just have the outward appearance. I took a bite and immediately fell in love with it. The juicy pork and the veggie between the soft bun with the special sauce exploded with flavors. This is a MUST TRY when you order.
DUCK BREAST
When my mom ordered this, I wasn't too excited for it. After all, I am not a fan of the breast part in our winged friends. I would choose thigh, leg or wings, but never the breast. When the dish came, it was simple. There was nothing special about the presentation. But when I took a bite, I felt nostalgic. It reminded me of our trip to Hong Kong as a family and this dish tastes the same!
Seafood Coconut Soup
If you love spicy food, or even if you don't, you will love this dish. My mom and I love spicy food but my dad and two sisters can't even tolerate even just a small amount of it. But because the dish was so rich with flavor, my dad and my sisters did not only tolerate the dish, they loved it!
Steamed Pomfret
Reminds me of my mothers cooking. The flavor is perfect and the fish is soft. The meat of the fish melts in your mouth and tickles your taste buds.
Ah Bu's Chinese Garden
You know the lumpia we eat at Binondo and Ongpin? This is lumpia with a twist in Alabang. Something that this genius chef serves to surprise everyone who steps in this restaurant.
Shrimp Siomai
This humble dish we see in almost all chinese restaurants seems to just be a default dish to order. But in Thomson Road Chinese Bistro, it is a MUST ORDER. You have not tried the best if you have not tried the siomai in this restaurant! You really NEED to order this. This IS MY FAVORITE!!
Beautiful!! Simply beautiful!!
So refreshing to dine in a restaurant that takes pride in the food they serve!!
Bravo!!! Keep it up !!
Congratulations!!
Thomson road
Roasted pork bun double
Comes in 2pcs pork buns
Pork is juicy and tender and complements the pork bun amazingly. The sauce is delectable and very savory.
Butchers clay pot has chorizo, braised pork and ginger chicken. The chorizo is next level tasting and very authentic like those than can be bought in macau.
Chicken tastes like haianese chicken but has a stronger ginger taste and a bit on the dry side
The Braised Pork’s taste is on the salty savory side as opposed to the regular sweet taste of other braised porks, it is tender and has a good fat/meat ratio.
Duck breast clay pot
Slices of duck breast are accompanied by fat underneath the skin, the meat is chewy but has a nice texture, rice is savory and aromatic and complements quite well. If you like duck dishes order this and it will not disappoint!
Shrimp siomai
More expensive than other siomai’s but it is bigger.
The siomai has a distinctively chinese siomai comparable to tea houses in hongkong, has a nice blend of shrimp, pork and mushroom
Ambiance is spacious and sleek, service is topnotch. The menu is quite limited atm as they are still on their soft opening. Would come back soon!
Located at Molito Complex, the South's Foodie Haven. Thomson Road recently opened their doors. The family was planning to try out the dimsum resto next door but decided at the last minute to have dinner at this beautifully interiored Chinese bistro. You are welcomed by this blue, jade like shiny tiled entrance with their pig profile logo. It looks specially beautiful at night when the dining area is dimly lit, just enough to have either a quiet dinner for two or an intimate big family gathering. It looks like one of those shady HK streets at night.
We ordered the following: Roasted Pork Buns (two pieces) good enough for a heavy merienda or a started for two while waiting for their noodles. The mantao bread is white as snow, soft and absorbed the shiny juices of the roasted pork. The alternating meat and fat glaze over the bread. The fresh cuts of cilantro adds a freshness to the roasted flavored meat. Beautiful!
The Roasted Pork over Rice is a meal worth a thousand praises. For those who cannot live without rice. This is for you. Smoky, soft pork with a bit of soy/ char siu sauce with a side of steamed bok choy is enough to fill you over with happy dreams to last you 'til the morning after.
The Roasted Pork with Noodles had generous portions of pork slices over a steaming bed of noodles and pork stock. The noodles was overcooked and had a sticky feel to it. But the soup sure makes up for this.
Seafood Curry Noodles had quite the spicy bite and the curry flavor, strong. Servings can be shared by two if you are light eaters. Service was quick and friendly, but they should consider having someone man the front of house to assist incoming guests. Overall, it was a good dining experience. Senior discounts honored.
This place just opened up in molito so we decided to try it out. Their Pao's are very good and hey don't hold back on the fillings. The clay pots will leave you full and satisfied and their siomai is very big and dense. They're still on their soft opening but the servers are very nice and accommodating and they take cards already. Kinda pricey for the Pao's but very reasonable for the clay pots. I recommend this place if you like siopao and Chinese food.
Being a foodie is fun, but most of the time it is also very tiring and stressful. People usually know what they want when they want it. In my case, I crave for so much that I often find myself getting frustrated about not knowing where I want to eat. (Am I the only one???). This was my situation 2 Sundays ago. I already had a restaurant in mind around Alabang, but the thought about visiting the restaurant on that day didn't excite even the tiniest part of the foodie in me, prompting me to me look for a second option. Luckily, after a few more scrolls on my phone, I found this new Chinese restaurant I haven't heard about before. I took one look at its menu and I knew that this has got to be my agenda for the day.
The mere mention of “Thomson Road” heralds me back to my adventures (including misadventures) in Singapore. I feel that road is quite distinct to that land. And for the multiple times that I’ve gone there, I have definitely passed by that road multiple times too. So it was quite interesting to see its name on a restaurant. But what’s more interesting are the dishes offered at this bistro.
