Okay so the food is great, and the ambience is nice. I liked it so much I wanted to return again.. BUT.... i was turned away TWICE by the staff.
It says on Zomato they close at midnight on weekdays, that is also what the female waitress said to me verbally. “We close at 12 am”, I live nearby and visited the day after at 11:12 pm, I was turned away. “We are closed,” a male waiter said. Okay fine. They close 1 hour earlier... i can tolerate that.
I went again the day after... 10:49 this time. Fully expecting to eat here. I was turned away AGAIN. This time, the restaurant is open, but the kitchen is closed. Why cant they just say they close at 10:30 pm? Why is it so hard? Why say we close at 12 am when you actually close at 10:30 pm? Im very confused and Ive travelled twice and got turned away twice.
The food is good, i have to give them that. If the owners read this, please adjust your stated operating hours to what it actually is. Since many of your customers do not have time and will arrive 30 minutes before closing if they decide to eat at your restaurant.
Love the vibe of the place,really quiet on a Sunday. Wanted to have tried their signature draft on tap but too bad they were out. Went for the Pilsner Urquell, matched with Jamon Allioli. Both were legit. Really flavorful. With my 2nd round, I went for their Paella staple. Good for two, straightforward ingredients. Will definitely be back.
This is my ultimate favorite for spanish restaurants. Ambiance is great! Friendly staff, quality and delicious food and reasonable price! I love love love their pintxos — my favorite is their foie gras and jamon allioli! Must order their besugo (quite expensive but huge fish), paella, gambas, salpicao, chipirones, butifarra..... the best place to hangout if you want to get together with friends... they also serve the best sangria and gin tonic!
The Damage (no drinks): Php1,200-1,800 for two
This eatery at the back of an unassuming building south of the CBD is the site of one of the more interesting tapas spots in the country. We liked the Foie Pintxo and Jamon Aioili Pintxo
~~TRY😍:
// Bacalao Pintxo
// Foie Pintxo
// Jamon Aioili Pintxo
// Pollo al Ajillo
~~OKAY🙂:
// Butifarra
// Gambas al Ajillo

Fantastic tapas and ambiance. It's hidden somewhere along the road entering Alabang Hills intersecting the West Service road and worth the find.
What are you waiting for? iVamanos!
iAndale to Bar Pintxos!
The fact that I drive all the way from Cubao QC to eat here speaks for itself. Love this place. Food and ambiance are consistent. Prices are acceptable. It just too bad that they dont have a branch in QC.
Bar pintxos is our go to date place! I would go there for their jamon alioli alone! We always get the jamon, beef cheeks, gulas, and salpicao or lengua. Their sangria is kinda strong you'll be feeling pretty good after 1 or 2 glasses haha Best to call ahead and make a reservation especially on weekends cause it can get pretty packed.
In the search for a decent hangout place, we stumbled upon this cozy nook down south. We have a number of tapas bar already in Manila. We have Vask and Tomatito. But one joint caught our attention that serves authentic Pintxo aside from the usual Tapas. Bar Pintxos Tapas Y Mas provides the closest Pintxos experience in Manila. Just as you would enjoy in San Sebastian, Spain. Its location is still hidden, which adds to its appeal as a go-to Pintxos Tapas Bar in the metro. Pretty hard to find since it is not fronting to where foot traffic is. Full every day (closed on Mondays) this place serves nice tapas, Pintxos and always has some nice specials. You have to understand the concept of a Spanish tapas bar which is not a restaurant that serves full meals. As Filipinos, we expect filling meals that are meant to be shared. Don’t expect a good sit down family style serving.
I must say everything was delectable. We tried all the available off the menu items written on their board. Standouts was the ribs and paella Cordero. I would go back and try the regular menu items next time.
Used to be a hidden gem in Alabang. But how could it stay hidden with its delectable food and "comfy" atmosphere, it was bound to be discovered and enjoyed by everyone. :)
Try all kinds of pintxos, beef cheeks & sangria... you wont be disappointed. Oh, and the lamb paella -- yum!
* they also sell pre-packed chorizos that you can cook & enjoy at home.
Visited on a Saturday night. The food was good. It didn't disappoint. Small portions yes, but that's tapas. Very rich so quite filling.
Drinks were good too. Sangria, wine and beer in our group, all good.
I guess if you ordered a lot of pintxos, the bill would add up fast. But stick to tapas and drinks, a few carbs along the way and it will be good.
After ordering, we were told that the lamb paella was out. We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to this having studied the online menu in advance. We made a bit of a fuss, like how can they not have it? The waitress suddenly dashed into the kitchen, appeared back after a few mins and said they could make our 2 orders of lamb paella if we waited 20 mins. To me, that's normal waiting time for paella! So we did. It was served in 10 mins. I'm not sure what happened or why that happened. Would have been better though if they just made it and served it without the fuss. It was good though.
The AC was dripping heavy right in the center of the restaurant. Some tissue was placed and it didn't seem to bother the waitresses. Maybe a common occurrence? It did bother me a bit. I wasn't getting wet, but hey, it's dripping like crazy and no one cared! Tik tik tik tik....
The place was lively and busy. Good atmosphere.
Overall, if I was in the Sucat alabang area, I'd go back.
But although they're there in BGC, there are many other options in the area and this wouldn't be the first choice.
For some reason, there was this one Sunday evening when Cole was alone at home. Instead of having dinner alone, he asked Julio to accompany him. They decided to try out Bar Pintxos because they didn’t want to drive far and people have been raving about this restaurant and their pintxos.
Best sangria for me and lamb paella! The dessert I tasted went perfectly with the wine. Service was not that good but the food makes it up! Definitely going back to this quaint place!

Awesome food at Bar Pintxos Y Mas!
We live in the south so it's quite easy to get to Pintxos when I'm craving for it. The restaurant is a bit difficult to find as its entrance is at the back of the building --- but nothing Waze couldn't find. There's ample parking space so that's a plus!
They have the best jamon-allioli pintxos I've tasted -- definitely a must-order! We also ordered their Chorizo Burger, Gambas Frito, Lomo-Bacon, Chorizo Y Huevos. Their sangria is also good. We had their flan and canonigo for dessert.
The Alabang native invades Podium for Supermanly Eats. They are known for their wicked tapas. Sadly, i missed their stall as I had my eye on Spicebird and Pepi Cubano.
I visited their stall nonetheless for refreshments. Sangria it is! I am no wine connoisseur, i rely on my unsophisticated tastebuds when it comes to the fermented grape juice.
As per Wikipedia, Sangria is a beverage, common in Spain and Portugal. It normally consists of red wine, chopped fruit, a sweetener, and a small amount of brandy. Chopped fruit can include orange, lemon, lime, apple, peach, melon, berries, pineapple, grape, kiwifruit and mango. A sweetener such as honey, sugar, syrup, or orange juice is added. Instead of brandy, other liquids such as Seltzer or lemonade may be added. Sangria is steeped while chilled for as little as minutes or up to a few days.
Pinxtos' Sangria is has subtle hints of sweetness, i guess they used Merlot. Not sure if they added any type of sweetener though. I didn't taste any brandy too. Instead of seltzer, they used good ole Sprite. This was just okay, biased opinion as i drink red sans the brandy et al. It was refreshing nonetheless.
Ok so:
Drink: Sangria - I love it it's not too sweet best part is ...You wouldn't know that there is alcohol, so be careful!
Main Dish: Shrimp Gambas- Yum...wow...bread with this is also good...I have no words... I always order this when I go here :).
Mixed Paella- GOod ....nothing negative...
NO VEGETABLES ...SALAD WHERE ARE YOU!
Dessert: Frozen Braso de Mercedes (Frozen Egg Whites with Caramel Sauce)....-GOod not too sweet...
Service is also Pleasant both the owners and their waiters...No regrets
Ambience:
Thumbs up 👍🏼 It's a place where you can catch up with friends. Music isn't too loud for talking. Lights are mellow and perfect for dates! They have comfortable couches too.
Drink:
Sangria - Red wine tastes a bit stale. Like there's no more tannins left on it at all. Tastes like the 2 Euro Sangria cartons you can buy in Carrefour in Spain.
Pintxos we ordered:
Chatka -
It lacks taste without the pickle on top so make sure each of your bit has a bit of that pickle.
Brie-Cebolla -
The caramelized onion and jamon made it really good and tasty, but the onion overpowers the Brie.
Jamon Allioli -
This is the best of all we've ordered. The serrano and aoli blends so well, it hits the tastebuds.
Chorizo Y Huevos -
Tastes like a cooked-in- 5-minute breakfast. Something seems lacking.
Lomo-Bacon -
It tastes a bit like afritada. The pork loin doesn't go well with the rest.
Staff -
Polite. But not very engaging considering there are just 2 occupied tables when we visited.
The best and worst thing about Pintxos Y Mas is that they're pretty good at hiding themselves. They're at the back of a pretty nondescript building so just being able to find them is an achievement in itself. If you do find them, its going to be worth it.
The first thing impressions matter to me and they made a good one. Everyone in their staff was genuinely nice and knew their own menu.
First plate I got was the Jamon-Allioli pintxos. Generous serving of ham on top of a slice of bread. At first bite (it took me like 3 bites to finish it) you'll immediately taste the salty flavours of the ham. The ham in itself is already salty so its not like it was over seasoned but thats how the jamon serrano is supposed to taste so deal with it. What I would have liked though was for the bread underneath to be more toasted. Soft bread + tender ham = everything is mushy. Having toasted bread instead of soft bread would have given better contrast in terms of texture and would have really brought it to a different level.
Had two different paellas (first was the lamb and the other one was the mixed one) both were executed well with the rice component itself being well cooked. The flavours were bold and a bit on the salty side. In a way I like how there's so much character in their food; it knows how it wants to taste like and they just go for it.
Also had some charcuteria, the Jamon Serrano one because we apparently like our ham. The ham was of good quality,it actually reminded me specifically of Santi's Parma Ham but with smoother flavours. I liked it a lot.
Last thing I had was the Chopito Frito. Fried baby squids. The squid had some light breading which was surprisingly crispy. So that was good.
One major thing I'd like to give them props for is the service, other than the friendly staff their kitchen gets plates out really quick. I was surprised that how quickly food was getting to our table.
This is a place I'd gladly visit again. Their food has some nice strong flavours that you may or may not like and thats what so great about them. No compromises when it comes to their food, they do it their way and their way is pretty yummy.
A refreshing restaurant concept. Hole in the wall hidden treasure of south of Metro Manila. Pintxos are "small plates" in Spanish. Delicious tapas, refreshing Sangria and a good selection of craft beers. Great place to hang out with family and friends.
Great tapas and pintxos bar with a neighborhood feel. It's easy to locate with Waze; it's the second building on the left side of the road coming from Sucat, the one with a Pancake House in front. Park and enter the main lobby on the side.
The two owners, Miguel and Tinchu, run a small deli business called Tierra de España and support local craft beer makers. In addition to this, they also make a good set of tapas and pintxos, or different kinds of toppings on bread; you may also know these as bocaditos.
I am not a big beer drinker so I got sangria while my friends and I dug into scrumptious jamón allioli pintxos, tiny deep fried squid (chopitos fritos), croquetas, and gambas al ajillo.
The Iberico ham pintxo was flaked and seasoned with a squidge of mayo, and was just so good. The baby squid was fried just right and reminded me of Italian seafood fritto misto. The rest were okay.
For 275 pesos we also ordered a satisfying lamb paella. While there isn't much lamb in it, the stock used and the saffron gave it a rich flavor.
Service was a little spotty; the wait staff should write down orders. They forgot a drink order and said it wasn't available when it was, confused a dessert order, and one other thing.
The torrijas bread pudding with a sweet olive topping was a nice discovery. The salt crusted chocolates were all right; no need for the salt.
Recommend they get a sign so that people know it's here. We really liked its quiet understated surroundings, and the sangria is good. We will be back.
Had their Pintxos Pale Ale, a craft beer made special for the bar and served on tap. One of the best ales I've had, and at P320 per 400ml, it's pricey but worth a try. Sadly did not try their food.
Very nice tapas bar. Prices are very affordable and servings are generous. They have a wide variety of Pintxos and Tapas. Beer selection could use a little beefing up though, especially on their tap selection. Staff is very friendly and service is quick.
Me and my 2 foodies went to try this place out. And having a spanish friend to judge the authenticity of the food and sangria.. authenticity wise it passed her standards.. and WE all loved the food and sangria.. from the place.. the food.. and the service.. i give this 5 stars and we'll definitely come back ♡♡♡
A friend recommended. Happy to have received it. Loved it. Great food and ambiance. The red pepper stuffed with cheese was my favorite along with the sardinillas
