Great tasting Filipino food! Ambiance is great and good for families/big groups. Food portions were smaller than expected (was told that the "medium"was size was good for 3-4 people but I think it's more for 2-3). I also couldn't use my Zomato Gold. Apparently, to avail the 1+1 Food, everything you order has to be below P300 each. So even if you had one item that was over P300, you couldn't use your Gold promo.

As a filipino growing up, I've tried different filipino dishes. When I tried Phatchick, I was amazed how innovative the dishes that was served. People should definitely go here to try the different dishes that Phatchick provides.
My top 5 at Phatchick are: Tapa Rice - you can eat it on it's own, it's similar to an on-the-go rice in a box type but it's not for on the go. 2. Crab Fat Gambas - the coconut milk and crab fat absorved in the shrimp, would sugget if they addded a piece of bread on the side to clean out the sarsa.
3. Humbang Lechon - simply delicious, it's great paired with the tapa rice. 4. Corned Beef Sinigang - reminisced on how my buddies and I used to cook it, but this has more flavour. 5. Oysters - I just love seafood, and the cheese was great as well, I don't know what they added to make it more tasty but I loved it.

This place reminds me of the Red Hot Chili Pepper Song under the bridge, why? because It is literally under the bridge adjoining 2 wings of the Festival Mall. That fact though should not dissuade the ever enthusiastic diner to dine here. The location adds novelty to the experience of dining in this confusingly interior decorated restaurant, but all of that just perks up the charm of Phat chick because like Shallow Hal your tastebuds will discover something wonderful beneath the exterior of this diamond in the rough. Here are my top 3 recommended dishes here at Phat Chick:

1.) Baked Oysters - Fresh and perfectly baked this fab favorite gets a further boost from all the cheese it got drizzled with. This is perhaps the cheesiest naked oysters Iā€™ve had, tears wont dribble down your cheeks because of mushy clicheā€™s, it will be your taste buds triggering it.

2.) Sisig : itā€™s fresh itā€™s crunchy and like the name of the establishment itā€™s severed in, its Fat. Now some folks wonā€™t like sisig swimming in cooking oil but their version somehow tickles a certain kind of fancy.

3.) Corn beef Sinigang - There is a saying that Journalism is literature in a hurry, well their version of Sinigang swapping corned beef with brisket is a brilliant invention of human necessity. To be clear though Phat Chick didnā€™t create the dish, but they have done it so well that you might think otherwise. The brought has the right sour tamarind kick, and the corned beef perfectly subs the brisket. It mimics the fall of the bone consistency of beef while incorporating the savory texture of the canned staple.

I've been eyeing this resto even before they changed its name for Skewered to Phatchick. I'm quite late to discover that they are now serving FIlipino favorites too, with a theme of modern fiesta and colorful banderitas display in their dining area.

They have broad choices of pica pica, sabaw, ulam, pasta and even sharing platters.

Top three favorites are:

3pcs Oysters 199 + 60 gratin(cheese)

Freshly baked oysters with generous toppings of cheese. I can eat the 3 pcs all by myself.

Lechon Sisig 249

The best of both worlds, Imagine the crispy lechon turned into a sisig. It's quite challenging to maintain the crispiness of lechon and yes they nailed it!

Corned beef sinigang 289

I like its same sour taste of sinigang with a hint of sweetness from the watermelon. House made corned beef was tasty too.

Some of Phatchick dishes that we have tried are:

Humbang Lechon 369

The sauce is soo delicious and goes well with plain rice.

Signature Fried Chicken 499

The usual taste of fried chicken, I hope they can add something that can make this dish unique.

Tapa Rice 299

The rice was kinda mushy for my taste, the tapa toppings are delicious

Sisig Carbonara 219

I love the creamy taste of their carbonara, the noodles were cooked right

Soft Shell Tacos 199

I've noticed that Sisig is one of thier most used ingredients in their menu. By the way, they serve really good tasting sisig

Crispy Crablets 189

A good beer match pica-pica, consumed it fast as it tends to loose its crispiness

Pinakbet 169

The classic Ilocano veggies dish with lechon toppings

Inihaw na Tuna Panga 399

Marinated to perfection Tuna panga

Chicken wings 179

Small pieces of tasty chicken wings, one order is kinda pricey for me.

The alternative wasys to fully enjoy this dish is to Avail their Wings on Wednesday: Buy 1 Take 1 on Wings every Wednesdays valid from Mon. to Thu, until 31 Oct, 2019

Halo Halo Frappe 199

This sweet ending treat is good for sharing. It has milky taste of a frappe with generous ingredients of the usual halo halo.

Give this resto a chance and see for yourself!

Formerly known as Skewered, which is located near the bridge of expansion wing of Festival Mall.

Let's start with their appetizers, we had the Soft Shell Tacos with sisig fillings and the Crispy Crablets. Their version of Oysters with oozing with cheese were so good. Chicken wings were quite small yet very tasty especially the Buffalo.

Personal favorite was the Crab Fat Gambas, imagine those juicy prawns cooked in crab fat, the coconut milk added to its special taste too.

One of their must-try dish is the Corned Beef Sinigang, I love the comforting taste of its soury soup, the corned beef was made inhouse.

If you love sisig, go for their Lechon Sisig and Sisig Carbonara both are my personal favorites. The Lechon Sisig was really crispy and packed with amazing flavors.

Humbang Lechon goes well with a plain rice, their version of Pinakbet has a toppings of succulent lechon. Signature Fried Chicken was tender and juicy.

For desserts, we had the

Halo Halo Frappe which has really generous ingredients. I love its creamy taste too!

I will definitely comeback to Phatchick!

Fil-Mex vibes. Been wanting to try this resto for a long time now before they rebranded to "Phatchick", also this is my first ever resto in the Water Garden area I've ever dined to!

Modern Filipino comfort food, here I come! For the appetizers, we had the soft shell tacos, baked oysters, and crispy crablets. The baked oysters were so gooood!!! I'd honestly have the whole plate all for myself (lol) and also I can't get enough of the crispy crablets. The mini tacos are also a delight!

For the mains-- chicken wings, crab fat gambas, lechon sisig, pinakbet, corned beef sinigang, humbang lechon, inihaw na panga ng tuna, their signature fried chicken, tapa rice, and sisig carbonara. My personal faves (can't choose one!) were the Crab Fat Gambas and Humbang Lechon. That is the first ever gambas I've tried that has coconut milk on it, while the Humba--- ughhh I can't even remember when I last had Humbaaa!!! Love their Humba so much. The Corned Beef Sinigang was delish too, and also the amount of Tapa Rice served to us was generous. Their chicken tasted similar to one of those pioneer chicken restos here in the Metro, which is a good thing.

For the dessert, their halo halo frappe special, I didn't have a chance to try it bcus I was so full! (with the carbs and all, haha)

As some might know, Festival Mall is really enormous and the restaurants here are also sprouting like mushrooms. The location of the resto is a bit hard to find, but when you dined at their Al Fresco area-- it's majestic, especially at night. At the Lower Ground Floor, Expansion Wing: when you reach the bridge, turn right and you'll find them. Check them out at their official FB page for their map!

Would love to come back!

Phatchick (formerly known as Skewered) modern filipino style food (which is directly competing with Gerry's Grill and Giligans) with mix influences of Spanish and Mexican-American flavors. Night menu is different and it includes cocktail and alcoholic drinks.

What I love about Phatchick is their festive set up inside and the decorations on the wall. It feels stuffy though, afterwards.

Pinakbet - I love how they make it simple with the classic taste topped with pork slices. The taste is average, a bit salty.

Tapa Rice - for P299 this is sulit, with the 3-4 servings each. This dish is tasty as well.

Gambas - it tastes good, I just don't like gata.

Chicken Platter - their chicken platter tastes like Max's which is certainly good.

Chicken Wings - it's good but nothing special

Corned Beef Sinigang - overall I like the presentation, the tangy taste of watermelon added the kick to the overall taste of Corned Beef. Definitely a strong one. Hopefully they highlighted this one more.

Halo Halo Frappe - I like how they present this one. But it's a bit pricey for one serving at P199 each.

Inihaw na Panga ng Tuna - Normal.

Oyster - Grabeee heaven sa sarap.

Room for improvement. Overall the food is okay but they need something that can set them apart from the others. Will definitely go back to taste the others dishes.

We had Wagyu Brisket, Corned Beef Sinigang, Lechon Pork Belly, and Plain Rice Platter.

At first, we were hesitant to go in because there were no other people inside. Hubby thought ā€œnot a good sign!ā€ but we went in anyway due to the good reviews here on Zomato.

Quick turnaround. All our orders were served about 10mins after.

The WAGYU BRISKET is soft and very tasty. It is paired with what resembles as Rackā€™s bbq sauce.

The LECHON PORK BELLY is hubbyā€™s instant favorite. The skin is very crispy and cooked to perfection.

The CORNED BEEF SINIGANG is also good. Natural sampaloc was used and the veggies are half cooked which we liked. Good serving too.

Only turnoff was the serving size of the rice platter. It is expensive at P159.

The overall experience is good though. We will be back!

I felt the tastebof the oregano in the Sweet Bolognese pasta is too empowering, but still good.

BLT sandwhich is just okay, I like the mayo generously lathered on the bread. Very tasty.

And just how can I get over the Cheesy Sisig Burger?! I never knew how the sisig resonates perfectly on the cheesy sauce.

Price is quite reasonable especially if it's on Zomato Gold.

To Zomato Gold users, you can avail any ala carte food except any amount greater than 400.

You get what you pay for and it's worth it! My fave is their Tinapa Rice. I can eat it alone, and would even be complemented with a viand like sisig. Their skewered tastes good though I really have a low tolerance for spiciness so I hope they can have it customized for customers like me.

Ambiance is good.

Will definitely go back here.:)

Loved the tapa and tocino rice, which also came in big servings. However, the lechon kare kare and japanese pork belly bbq were so little, but flavourful.
Also had thai milk tea and iced that were served in tiki mugs.
We ordered lechon tacos for our appetizers but they arrived last. Still liked them nonetheless.

They could also have a wider variety of viand choices.

Overall Iā€™d give 4/5 because I really loved the tapa rice.

At first glance, one would probably look into this as a typical Filipino restaurant and traditional cuisine. Yet, looking deep into the menu and tasting the dishes (sans ingredients) you open yourself up to a modern infusion.

TLDR;

Location: in Tagalog terms: sasadyain

Service: good

Food: good, but not for all

Pricing: good, competitive price and serving size

Will I go back? Definitely.

Location and ambiance: Probably the biggest drawback. Located along the Filinvest Festival Mall River Bank gives it late night access; however for regular mall-goers, it's hard to find, unless you're actually looking for it. Network connectivity (Globe) was also intermittent. Inside the restaurant, you're greeted with an industrial look meshed with hawaiian colors. Lighting is in the warmer color. Plates and utensils are in the monochrome side.

Service: We had our meals around 1pm, so it was strange that there were only two other tables occupied. We were greeted by a lively attendant, and seated accordingly. Without asking, we were offered a high chair for our toddler which I think is a welcome suggestion especially kids being a handful. Noting that network is a problem, we were given a wi-fi pass. Meals were served in 15 minutes or less. We have yet to see how it is during rush and busy hours.

Food: Where it matters the most. Since I was with a toddler and my mother, we had to stick with traditional Filipino meals. We ordered Beef Brisket Nilaga and Half Fried Chicken, both which are good for 3-4 people.

1. The good: Taste was better than most restaurants at this price range. For the nilaga, vegetables were fresh, with crisp, saturated color. Soup stock was properly seasoned, not too salty, but is missing the pepper kick you find in typical nilaga cooking. There was a hefty amount of beef, but in contrast the vegetables were not (corn was good for 1). As for the chicken, it was served with a side of fries, and three sauces of liver based gravy, ground cayenne pepper, and tomato ketchup (probably heinz). Chicken skin were fried evenly, meat was dry but not flaky to the tongue.

2. The bad: if you're with traditional people, they would be surprised with the food being modernized. The beef in the nilaga was cooked medium rare to maintain it's softness. The pinkish color would probably turn off some people (especially being a soup). I like trusting the chef, but it would be nice to be noted before hand if we want to request some torching or well-done. As for the chicken, it was good all until the last piece. It was noticeably pink and undercooked even if it wasn't rubbery. It was probably an isolated case since all the other pieces were cooked throughout.

Pricing: Price versus serving size is properly priced. Lotus rice could be cheaper, but I was pretty full after one cup. For Zomato Gold users, note that group sets, lamb based mains and paella are not included in the 1+1. You also have cheaper lunch options south of Php 150, which we'd probably try next time. VAT is also included, with additional service charge after bill.

Its been a while since I last dined inside the new wing of Festival Supermall in Alabang. This new wing is teeming with a wide array of restaurants ready to fill in your tummies. Japenese, Korean, French, Mexican and of course, Filipino food.
I recently discovered Skewered by Phatchik located at the G/F beside Gerry's Grill. Everything else is good here except its location. But the food outweighs it all.
Skewered by Phatchick, which will be known as plain Phatchick soon is a Pinoy resto serving our own fave dishes with a few twists of their own. I love their fiesta themed ambience with banderitas all over.
Their Nachos is so sarap! The melted cheese sauce wanted me to order another one. The fried chicken though needs a little improvement.
We also had Wagyu Corned Beef Kaldereta, their signature Tinapa and Beef Rice which are also yummy. Did I mention that they also serve cocktails? Alam na this!
They will be adding more on their menu to serve all foodies out there. This place is perfect for barkadas and families. Will definitely come back for more!

Update: June 4, 2019. Phatchick (Skewered) is a new concept restaurant that offers Filipino and Pan-Asian Dishes with skewered meats and vegetables as their speciality. Located along the River Park stretch of restaurants at Festival Mall. I suggest asking the Concierge at the center of the mall for directionals to pinpoint exactly where the restaurant is because Festival Mall is quite a massive structure.

Upon entry, one is greeted by a unique mural splashed above the open kitchen window and bar. It is a beautiful mural filled with Island themed scenes. They have high bar stool sitting on the right side of the restaurant and Family style couches on the left. The ceiling is also designed to replicate a shipwreck awashed on a Tropical island beach. The beautiful wood tables and the chairs clearly show they spared no expense.

They now offer MODERN Filipino dishes as part of their menu and we had the pleasure of trying out some of their NEW and upcoming menu items! Top of mind is their Wagyu Corned Beef Caldereta, Tapa Rice, Pinakbet, Seafood Platter, Pork Humba, Tinapa Rice, BBQ Ribs, Whole Fried Chicken and Halo Halo for dessert. For a unique, Family friendly dine out consider Phatchick on your next visit to Festival Mall. Recommended.

The prices are competitive and perfect for family lunch or a night out with Friends.

Recently, Iā€™ve been trying different food in various restaurants whether itā€™s from South to North. As much I love photography and traveling, I also love eating! āœØ

And one of the best family restaurants Iā€™ve visited so far is the Phatchick - Skewered in Festival Mall, Alabang! You know how much I love going to Festival Mall and Iā€™m glad that Iā€™ve tried the food in Phatchick. I discovered a new place that surely my family will love. ā¤ļø

If you are looking for a restaurant for your family and friendsā€” I suggest you visit Skewered by Phatchick because they have good sets of food (not to mention that all the food I tried is really delicious but what I love the most is the Adobo Flavored Wings and the scrumptious Tapa Rice), they also have friendly staff that will accomodate and make sure you have the best dining experience and lastly they have variety of drinks (from juice, shake, tea and alcoholic beverages) plus their signature glass. They all have it and I love it.
I hope you all can visit the place and try their food too. šŸ½šŸ„˜šŸ¢šŸ¹šŸ›šŸ¤šŸ²

They are known for their meat being hanged in metal skewer, sadly we were unable to try that, but more than anything else there a lot of things to be grateful about this restaurant. Almost everything in their menu that was served taste great and savory even their rice is already a meal for me. Phatchick's formerly known as Skwered PH, offers both Filipino and Chinese cusine they are cyrrently transitioning their name (still same brand it just that their company's name will take over Skewered PH as the restaurant in to Phatchick) same set of food in their menus but definitely will add more exciting menus. For their location I find it a lit bit challenging to find, because it is not in the corner, it is exactly located in the L/G of Expansion Wing, Water Garden in Festival Mall it is actually near Kuya J's. We were served with their Signature Fried Chicken while is Php499 half is Php269 / Wagyu Corned Beef Caldereta Php450 / Humba / Pakbet with Lechon Kawali / Tapa / Tinapa Rice / Texas Wagyu Smoke Brisket / Nachis /Seafood Platter

For those from the South who are looking for new restaurants to dine in with their friends, families and workmates, visit this good restaurant at the Festival Mall Alabang that serves delicious Filipino cuisine.

When you enter the restaurant, ang saya kasi parang may fiesta because of the banderitas. Also, yung lagayan ng utensils nila sa table made from bamboo so feel na feel mo yung pagiging pinoy mo. šŸ‡µšŸ‡

When it comes to food, in all fairness lahat ng sinerve nila samin masarap. For their signature chicken, okay naman siya pero sana lagyan nila ng twist or add something on the taste para mag stand out sa the usual chicken na natitikman natin.

They added new dishes on their menu para mas pang pamilya yung set-up, this is also part of their rebranding. They will change the brand name and the logo, from Skewered to Phatchick but the good food and the location are still the same.

My first time at Skewered. I tried the restaurant because it has 1 on 1 on food for zomato gold members. The interior design of the resto was great but it was kinda hot in our area. We ordered Nilagang beef brisket, Lechon belly, Pork sisig and Kare kare lechon belly. The serving was good for 2 persons only. This is a solid collaboration by Finnish and Chinese friends, EJ and Roger. Initially they started out with predominantly Asian/Chinese food but now, they have some good takes on Filipino classics as well.

Using our zomato gold with two unlocks, we asked Jessa our server what her recommendations were. Without blinking, she said Tapa Rice, Wagyu Caldereta and Lechon Kare-kare. So we incorporated those in our order.

The Wagyu Corned Beef Caldereta cost P409, making our Tapa Rice (P299) free. While the Kare-kareng Lechon at P399 afforded us a free Carbonara Linguini (P299).

Filipinos will enjoy the meals at Skewered because flavors are robust and on the salty (for me) side. I have been trying to cut down on salt together with shifting to weekday vegetarian meals, but today is an exception because our youngest son, a certified mega-carnivore is with us exploring some business rental prospects in the South.

The Tapa Rice is a great deal for its price because it is good for 3-4 and you'll get generous amounts of tapa in garlic rice garnished with tomatoes and 3 fried eggs. It's a complete all-day meal that tastes as good as it looks.

An instant favorite of mine is their Kare-kareng Lechon which came with a thick slab of crispy pork belly, luscious peanut sauce, usual vegetable suspects in KK (eggplant, baguio beans and pechay) with bagoong on the side. The combination of creamy, nutty, sweet, salty and fishy with the crispy, tender belly is irresistably good.

We have seen the use of Wagyu Corned Beef in other establishments as Manam and Old Swiss Inn. Skewered's take is good but not yet on their level. Likewise the Carbonara Linguini is a good pasta dish but it won't be top of mind when I come back.

Next time, I'd like to try their Beijing style roasts and barbeques of lamb, pork and chicken. Though, I don't mind getting the Tapa Rice and the Kare-kareng Lechon again. Another interesting rice dish is their Fried Chicken and Lechon Belly Rice...hmmmmn.

The crispy pork belly inihaw on skewers were cooked the way we wanted it - crispy and with just the right taste - just a little salt and pepper (as in no fancy marinate). My daughter loves it! Craving for some modern Asian cuisines and its fusions? Skewered should be on your list. Service is good. Place is just right, enough to cater more groups and families. The interiors reminds me we're inside a cruise ship.

We got to try some of their dishes:
Baked Oysters - I like how the fishy taste of oysters were lessened and that its cheesiness stood out.

Garlic Enoki Mushrooms - easy to eat, has a strong garlicky taste.

Spaghetti Aligue - sinful but flavorful!! You can really taste how rich the aligue sticks on the pasta. It is one of my favorites.

Tapa Rice - a big serving of garlic rice with eggs, and tapa. I like it better! The rice alone is flavorful. It's one of my favorites.

Sisig Lechon - It was delicious but it was just too salty.

Beef Brisket Nilaga - the soup is good!! soothing, especially while it's hot. The beef was tender and I like it.

Kare Kareng Lechon - has a thick and rich (peanut?) sauce which I like. It was made savory. The meat remained tender and crispy.

Wagyu Corned Beef Kaldereta - tender beef swimming in a savory sauce. I like it too.

Pork Belly Lechon was a bit hard, the Beef Salpicao was okay.

Sinigang na Hipon - soothing and the soup absorbed the shrimp's flavor. It's one of my favorites as well.

Their Pad Thai has a nice presentation but the taste didn't stood out. It was dry.

The only problem I see here is their location. It seems like they're secluded. There should be a sign somehow that there are still restaurants ahead (I thought Gerry's Grill was the only restaurant there).

Hidden in Festival Mall Alabang is a new restaurant and cocktail bar that serves variety of foods, from Chinese barbecue to Asian fusion Cuisine.

Iā€™ll start with Meat platter. Advertised as for sharing but a good size for 3 persons. Composed of 200g Wagyu beef, 150g Lechon pork belly, 1/2 Chicken, 3 Taiwanese Sausages and a choice of 2 sides. The thinly Wagyu Beef Brisket was juicy, succulent and flavourful. Taiwanese Sausages were fantastically flavoured but the fries we had for sides was a bit salty.

Gambas al Ajillo had a great balance of spices.
Singaporean Shrimp Satay and Shrimp tacos were overwhelming. Marinated and grilled well.
Their Tapa Rice was absolutely good. Rice were cooked to perfection, even in Seafood Paella.

The sisig however was very salty. I think they need to adjust the salty level that wonā€™t be overpowering. Also the Pad Thai, it was a bit bland for me.

Sinigang na hipon and Beef Brisket Nilaga were so perfect! Soup were clean tasting and super tasty.
I really love how beef dishes were cooked. You wonā€™t regret trying out any of their beef dishes. Theyā€™re so good, super soft and tender. A must try Restaurant for all the meat lovers.

Overall, Great food! Portions were insanely large and staffs were super friendly and courteous.

We cane here at 10 a.m., opening hours. They opened on the dot. The layout of the restaurant was very confortable. The decor was tasteful and instagram-worthy. The servers were attentive and said the name of each dish as they brought them out to us. I really liked the grilled eggplant dish, because it had tons of garlic, which I love. The food was delicious, especially the shrimp sinigang, and the portion sizes were just right. Would come here again.

Tapa Rice - This was pretty awesome! Rice that's good for three people (four's a bit of a stretch), three sunny side up eggs, tomatoes, tapa, and some corned beef too. Definitely order this it's your first time here. I would even say that it's a meal that can stand on its own.

Sizzling Lechon Sisig - For the price, the serving was a bit smaller than we had expected. Tastes okay, but nothing outstanding I guess. I would have preferred it to be a tad more salty.

Super love the place! After our exhausting week at work, we tried checking out some place that has Zomato Gold. Voila! We found this hidden gem in Festival Mall and we will definitely come back. (Literally hidden šŸ˜) We were the first customer and we were welcomed warmly by the server. We ordered Seefood Paella and Crispy Pork Belly. We also tried the fish tofu that was so good, some meatballs and those cute lamb meats on stick. Totally great place to chill out. Oh! We also tried the Engkanto beer! The server gave us free taste and even though I'm not a beer person, i did like it. Will recommend to my friends. šŸ˜Š

We went here for a late dinner at around 9pm and we were welcomed by a friendly staff. Using Zomato 1+1 we ordered the following for 2 people:

*Tapa rice - the rice was tasty and the tapa was good, tasted a bit like shawarma. The serving of rice is good for sharing for 2-3 people but the tapa portion seems only good for 1. Also the 3 sunny side up eggs were perfectly cooked!
*Chicken tenders with pickled veggies - worked well with the Japanese style breading and the 3 types of sauces that came along were all good

Skewers:
*Fish cake - simple but we liked this
*Chicken heart - just the usual as expected, nothing special nor unusual
*Coriander wrapped in beancurd- there were lots of veggies inside which quite overpowered the taste of the beancurd wrap, so a plus for veggie lovers like me :)

Place was cozy and servers were attentive. Presentation of food is excellent! Happy to have used Zomato 1+1 , maybe next time weā€™ll try the main dishes like sinigang na corned beef and kare-kare.

Sisig tacos are uniquely presented. Tasty but just a bit salty, still enjoyed eating it though. Skewers are unique also, I liked the taste of shitake mushroom balls and fish tofu. And the tinapa rice is quite huge in serving rice and it was good. Went out so much full. Will return and try other skewers.

First time to eat at Skewered. They were testing their new menu and almost all of the food we ordered were new.

The beef brisket nilaga was so good! The beef was soft the kids had no problem eating it. The Tocino Rice tastes as good as it looks. A big hit to both adults and kids.

Wasnā€™t able to take photos of the Chicken Tenders and Banana Split but both were also yummy! Food selection was great, presentation was awesome! Will definitely go back!

We enjoyed the lamb skewers... Tender, flavorful, and had just the right amount of spiciness. The food attendants were very accommodating. Too bad some of the dishes we wanted to order were not available when we dined. This is a reason to probably come back and have a round of drinks as well.

Hey, pirates! Imagine youā€™re in a ship, traveling to each and every side of Asia, wandering the ocean and those little and huge islands full of looking for gold and other treasures. Then you learned about different cultures, knew groups of people, learned their home cuisine and maybe got some interesting spices. And then you roamed back to the Philippines, probably interested with trading your special finds to some elite people. But then there was this huge wave and heavy rain then came the creepy thunderstorm which led you somewhere in Southā€¦

We went to the new wing of Filinvest Mall in Muntinlupa City and tried SKEWERED.

SKEWERED is a Pan-Asian full service casual dining restaurant and cocktail bar. The restaurant wants the Filipino people to be able to sample the best authentic food that Asia has to offer without having to personally travel to all those countries (Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Korea, etc.). The food is, as much as possible, authentic and not adapted, but instead they have selected those authentic dishes that they believe suit the Filipino palate whilst being able to provide authentic flavors to their valued customers.

SKEWERED means BBQ in the Philippines, they used the word Skewers to have a wide market not only here in the country but internationally.

The interiors of SKEWERED pay homage to the sea voyager past of the Asian people and the spice trade which already prospered thousands of years ago.

The legend behind the interior looks of the restaurant, which is also shown in the mural on the wall, is a ship carrying spices someone in the tropics of Asia. The ship was caught by a large storm and the wreckage washes up on a tropical island somewhere in Asia.

The shipā€™s crew is from various countries in Asia as they are all seafarers in the spice trade. The stranded crew use their skills to hunt for food, the spices from their ship which have been washed up on-shore and their combined culinary techniques to prepare various Asian dishes to make a great fully flavored Pan-Asian feast.

Skewers are naturally the highlight of this mythical feast since people in every country in Asia have eaten skewers for thousands of years.

The islandā€™s tropical fruits and sugar-cane are used to make rum-based tropical cocktails to accompany the food.Ā Tea is a givenĀ as it grows abundantly throughout large parts of Asia and was one of the pillars of the spice trade.
Ā
The TIKI (Polynesian) theme of the cocktail glasses as well as the style the mural is painted pays homage to the migration of the Asian people to Polynesia thousands of years ago. The people of Asia and Polynesia are always connected through this bond.

The music in the restaurant is Asian pop and rock to supplement the overall restaurant concept and showcase the varied cultures throughout Asia and helping us to bring these thousands of years of history to the current present day to make for an interactive, unique dining experience, showcasing the best in food, drinks and culture that Asia has to offer.

From Quezon City to Alabang it may be challenging to go but is worth it. It's my first time and was delighted to try those skewers which are served hanging on a metal rod.

But first, we tried their Starters:
ā€¢Fresh Vietnamese Spring Rolls (Php 299) served with hoisin, Nuoc Cham and hot sauce

ā€¢Sour Tom Yum Soup (Php 279), a traditional thai tamarind infused soup served with skewered meatballs

ā€¢Asian Slaw (Php 199)
ā€¢Mango Kani Salad (Php 299)

for their Noodles:
ā€¢Pad Thai (Php 349) served with skewered pork meatballs at the top.

Desserts:
ā€¢Banana Fritters (Php 229)
ā€¢Pineapple Skewers (Php 199)
ā€¢Banana Malay Roti (Php 249)

Rice:
ā€¢Skewered's Signature Fried Rice (Php 279)
ā€¢Sweet Sausage Fried Rice (Php 279)

in Skewers you can choose from:
ā€¢Chicken
ā€¢Lamb
ā€¢Beef
ā€¢Pork
ā€¢Seafoods
ā€¢Bacon-wrapped
ā€¢Veggies

and dips can be chosen from Skewered's Asian Signature Sauces:
ā€¢Hot sauce
ā€¢Salted egg
ā€¢Satay sauce
ā€¢Lemongrass
ā€¢Yakitori

Drinks:
for Tropical Cocktails, you may request if you want strong taste in it. They also have Engkanto Draft Beers for those who arent into cocktails.

For non-alcoholic, you may try their House-blended Lemongrass & Pandan infused icedtea.

Thai, Viet, Japanese, Korean, Filipino to any Asian cuisine, Skewered is a casual diner and a one stop shop if you want to have anything asian. Located at the Water Garden of the Festival Mall, this gem may be hard to find but is worth the search.

We started with their refreshing Mango Kani Salad along with the Asian Slaw which were both complemented well with Thai Sour Tom Yum Soup.

Done with the Starters, we splurged into these skewered goodies:

Szechuan Chicken

Chicken Heart

Chicken Liver

Mongolian Chicken

Chicken Tandoori

Szechuan Pork

Japanese Pork Belly

Bacon Wrapped Enoki Mushroom

Bacon Wrapped Leek

Sweet Sexy Pork

Korean Galbi

Flamed Torched Beef Salpicao

Shrimp Tempura

Tomato, Zucchini, Eggplant

And as a Filipino, grilled chows are best paired with rice. We were served with the Phad Thai, Sweet Sausage Fried Rice and Skewered's Signature Fried Rice. The feast did not stop there as we were served with their Crispy Chicken Tenders and healthy Fresh Vietnamese Spring Rolls.

After all that's been presented, desserts will still own a special place in our tummies. Banana Fritters, Banana Malay Roti and Pineapple Skewers were all nice and good for sharing.

For the refreshments, we were given non alcoholic ones which we had during our meals (Iced Thai Milk Tea, Skewered's House Blend Iced Tea and Iced Matcha Green Tea - my personal favorite because, Matcha! ā™„) On the other hand, they serve alcoholic beverages too. From classic cocktails to tropical ones to liquers to local craft beers. We were lucky to try some but as the alcohol kicks in, the memory of the drink's name fades away. And did I mention this restaurant is environmental friendly? They use metal straws instead of disposable ones.

Located at the new extension of Festival Mall right by a calm river amidst local flora, Skewered by Phatchick is a cozy, nautical themed Asian fusion joint that specializes in different types of skewers.

We started with the classic Kaarage ā€“ Japanese-style fried Crispy Chicken Tenders (PHP 288) with pickled cucumber and carrots, romaine lettuce and fresh herbs, served with their signature salted egg sauce, hot sauce and minced fresh garlic. We loved how you can wrap the tenders around the fresh green romaine lettuce for a crunchy treat.

Next up on our fresh menu, we were served two types of salad: the first was their Asian Slaw (PHP 188) ā€“ an appetizing slaw of red, green, and Chinese cabbage, romaine lettuce, orange slices and edamame, with citrus-sesame soy dressing. Second, was their Mango Kani Salad (PHP 188) ā€“ a refreshingly sweet and tasty salad of shredded Romaine lettuce, cucumber, carrots, kani, fresh mangoes, Japanese mayonnaise, ebiko and wasabi toast.

As if we canā€™t get any more fresh, we were served their Fresh Vietnamese Spring Rolls (PHP 279) made with shrimp, vegetables, rice vermicelli, noodles wrapped in Vietnamese rice wrapper, fresh herbs and crushed peanuts, served with hoisin, nuoc cham, and hot sauce.

Recently added on their menu, their Pad Thai (PHP 329) is probably one of the most unique ways Iā€™ve ever seen Pad Thai served. Carefully wrapped inside a layer of egg, the flavor is intensified as the trapped heat interacts with the egg in this flavorful dish.

Their Vietnamese Pho Ga (PHP 249) is fragrant and tasty. Itā€™s Vietnamese rice noodles soak up the clear chicken broth, with bean spouts, chicken strips and fresh herbs.

Finally, we served their iconic Skewers. We started with Torched Salpicao (PHP 349), drizzled with steak juice and torched just right. The meat was tender and savory. To end our main course, we ended off with four kinds of skewers:

Sweet Sexy Pork X (PHP 79)
Szechuan Pork (PHP 79)
Chicken Tandoori (PHP 119)
Japanese Pork Belly (PHP 99)

All the skewers were delicious and juicy. My favorite of the four is the Chicken Tandoori.

We paired our skewers with two types of fried rice bowls: Phatchickā€™s Fried Rice (PHP 75) with sweet Chinese sausage, scrambled eggs, spring onions, carrots, corn, and green peas. The second rice bowl is the Pork and Cabbage Fried Rice (PHP 75) with wok-fried braised pork belly and cabbage.

For dessert, we got served Banana Malay Roti (PHP 249) made with ripe mangoes and lakatan banana wrapped in roti, topped with coconut cream sauce and crushed peanuts. Found myself struggling this dessert with everyone, simply irresistible!

For drinks, they served rum based drinks in charming tiki-style glasses with environmentally friendly metal straws.
