Jellybeans In The City

After celebrating my niece’s birthday at Samgyeopmasarap, the family continued the Korean-themed celebration by having our dessert at the SM Marikina branch of Hobing. Hobing specializes in bingsu, originally called patbingsu. This is a traditional Korean dessert made of finely shaved ice, sweetened by condensed milk, and enhanced by bits of fruit, candy or pastries. It may even be topped with ice cream or yoghurt.
We are not really a fan of Korean stuff but since our tummy is asking for a dessert, we've decided to ditch our DQ routine and try out Hobing in SM Marikina. We've already tried Hobing in Eastwood and it was a hit.
The place is spacious and well air-conditioned - it's quaint and not bad, good for hanging out with your friends. The bingsu's are consistently big (lol) and good for sharing and for the price, I think it's worth it.
The combination of flavors are unique and exceptional - you'll be surprised with the outcome when certain ingredients are combined over shaved ice. It's a great way to end your day after eating a great meal. I haven't tried their food but would love too! Would love to create a blog content about them soon!
Let's rate them shall we?
Food: 4/5
Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Value for money: 4.5/5
The nearest hobing branch near us. We should have ordered 2 regular size bingsu instead of one large bowl para walang lamangan. Panalo! Cravings satisfied!!! Thank you hobing 😍😍😍
Korea in the Philippines! We ordered chocolate brownies, mango, cheese and strawberry. We mostly ordered the best flavors and they never let us down. I love how the shredded ice is made as the flavors are mixed and taste from it! We got only the regular size that is basically good for two so the price is definitely just fine. Love to comeback with Korean songs playing. Thank You!
After being addicted to Korean dramas and music, I've been a fan of their food as well. Bingsu is one of them. Hobing's bingsu is good for sharing, even the regular size. My family of 5 bought 2 regular bingsus and just shared it amongst ourselves. So somehow it's worth the price since the taste and presentation are also thumbs up!
Bingsu flavors we tried:
Injeolme: 5
Mango Cheese: 5
It’s my first time to try bingsu and Hobing did not disappoint. We ordered one of their bestsellers - Mango Cheese bingsu (large size enough for 3-5pax). They have a generous amount of main ingredients. I thought the fresh ripe mangoes and slices of cheesecake were only placed around the bowl, but to my surprise there were also a lot inside the shaved ice! It’s worth your money especially if you’re in a group :)
Tried 2x their Bingsu and it's so heavenly. I tried their mango bingsu and banana mango bingsu. ❤️ The ice is not too sweet. You can still enjoy the sweetness of the fruit. Still wanting to try other flavors of bingsu and korean foods on their menu.
They have a cute, snowy place. And they have a tv showing korean MVs. Saw Koreans also going in their cafe. Self service on their Water, glasses and little bowls (if u order a large bingsu and it's for share).
For me, what made these desserts special is how perfect and fine the ice they use--and how they serve plenty of milk to every order. You get what you pay for!
Ordered choco brownie bingsu 😊 not too sweet just the way I like it! Loved the iced smoothly shaved and melts in my mouth. Super Yum yum! 🍨
Hobing always takes the top spot in my dessert cravings. Fruits are always fresh. Presentation always on point. Love love love bingsu!😍 The place is usually jam packed with people. But their bingsu is worth the wait. Try it with Injeolme Toast. And you'll be full to the brim. Will definitely be back for more!😍
