Pretty legit! Wasn't so sure if it was going to be authentic.. Have been to quite a number of Mexican restos and the search for the perfect one has been elusive until we chanced upon this one. So what do I like about it? The taste, the owner does know how to please the palette with flavors and texture and of course the taste. The price, I would say this is not your typical commercially done Mexicali fare but the price is lower and the quality is way better. The portions, will not disappoint. Enough said. The ambience, so much care and concern to detail was put in which obviously shows the passion of the owner to the tiniest detail like the bill tray. Service, was top notch. We got our orders before even finishing my Google search of the place. The service crew, pleasant and accommodating. What's not to like? Nothing. So will definitely recommend this to fellow Mexican food lovers and seekers like myself. Andale! Andale! Arriba, Arriba! Pronto, hija hija

I can't remember how many times I have been to La Consuela. But every time I come to visit, the perfection is there! from my favorite drinks (always cold to beat the heat) down to my ever favorite Chimichanga mexican chorizo and Cheezy jalapeno. The taste, the preparation, and presentation, all very pleasing - a great value for the price. And Kudos to the staff! they are very helpful and cordial. I will definitely visit La Consuela again, and again. Btw, i live in Cainta but the 5.5km trip is all worth it.

Was pleasantly surprised by this small Mexican resto. The Nachos Half are good. Serving is big enough for two. The beef is good, the cheese sauce is good, so is the salsa. Nachos were crispy and tasted fresh when we ordered. Cheese sauce was a bit spicy, though, so you might want to keep this away from your kids.

The Chicken Rice Meal is a proper meal. The chicken on its own is good. They serve you a grilled chicken breast fillet that's juicy and flavorful, not dry at all. The rice is also good -- and heavy! The meal comes with a small side of refried beans, salsa, and some garlic dip. Garlic dip: awesome! Took me a while to finish everything up. I'll have to try the beef, pork, and fish variants on my next visits.

Wife tried the Beef Quesadillas and liked it. She also ordered a carafe of one of their signature cocktails, Sais Licores, which tells me by my limited grasp of the Spanish language that it's made out of six kinds of liquors. Menu didn't mention what those six were. Would be nice to let their customers know it, though. Anyway, the Sais Licores was good. It was light and had a mild kick like a Long Island Iced Tea, a perfect cap to a awesome dinner.

Place is a bit small. When my wife and I visited we were the only ones there. I'd imagine the place to be a little bit cramped if it were a Friday or Saturday night and full of their regulars. Restroom is a bit small too. The ceiling is high, though, and the facade is fully open, so it's airy and barely needs ventilation.

Downside: place only has two car slots in front. If they're both taken, I'm not sure where else you can park. Probably along one of the nearby streets.

All-in-all: two thumbs up. Will visit again soon. I encourage you visit if you haven't yet.

It's funny and sad that whenever I'd have my Mexican food cravings I would settle for Burrito Brothers or Taco Bell, then I chanced upon Consuela's in one of our late-night hunts. A well-lit and colorful cantina that reminds me of a smaller version of Tia Maria's (in the 90's) sans the air conditioning.

I don't like burritos nor beans, but Consuela's made me change my mind about 'em - well, kind of. To me chimichangas are just deep-fried burritos - - and, boy, Consuela's version is good! Their beef or pork quesadilla is also sumptuous. Besides the quality of food and serving sizes, the dipping sauces were very good. It was a yummy triumvirate of garlic sauce, pureed salsa and pureed jalapeno.

Just a heads up, they don't serve soda, but their iced tea is good and comes in a tall glass. I will give their booze a try one of these days.

Whaddayawaitinferr? Come by Consuela's for some authentic Mexican fare! :)

This is the Best Mexican restaurant I've ever tried and I've a lot in the metro. Better than well know Mexican joints, that to me are overrated. Hands down, the most authentic experience one can have for the price bracket. The vibe is simple and effective, the food flavorful. My favorite restaurant in MARIKINA.

My sister is a big fan of mexican food and for her, this is the best she has had so far. I myself am not a big fan, but I have to say that this place is above average compared to other mexican places. The humble mexican cantina vibe also plays a big role in the experience. Food's great, but I think they should improve on the small servings. Besides that, it's a pretty awesome place. Worth checking out even after cinco de mayo!

Looks aren't what they seem. From the outside, this humble Mexican cantina located across the street of Marikina City's engineering department may seem out of place; but let me be the first to tell all of you that this place definitely exceeds all expectation.

For a fair price, you will be served very delectable and very very authentic tasting Mexican Cuisine. The tacos are to die for, especially the chicken ones. But nothing would defeat the savory goodness that is their Chimichangas. Mix and match from their 3 sauces so you can get the taste you desire. Top your dining experience with an ice cold San Miguel Beer and your night will be complete. They also have sets if you and your buddies would care to have a drink and taste their cocktails and some authentic Mexican pulutan. Let's not forget to mention they also have unlimited mojitos if you and your friends intend to spend your night to the fullest.

As for the ambiance, it's pretty fair, giving it the Mexican cantina vibe are the wall tableaus and posters. It would help if they get a bigger place because a big person like me could have a hard time trying to fit myself in such a small place.

Overall, I would rate this place a 4/5. Some improvements can be made, namely the burrito they served me was pretty plain, but yeah, burritos aren't authentically from Mexico. More power to La Consuela!

If you are looking for an authentic Mexican food joint in the middle of Marikina, Consuela Mexican Cantina stands out above the rest! In less than a year of operations, Consuela Mexican Marikina has already captured the hungry tummies of people in search for a different food journey.

The nachos, chimichanga, burritos, quesadillas are all a cooked in perfection that meets the eye looking for a value for money food. I personally love the huge serving of chimichanga since I enjoy the explosion of spices serves with a variety of sauces - from mild to spicy flavors within your control! All of these tasted better together when you order unlimited mojitos or margarita of your choice.

This place is also appealing in the eyes of artsy fartsy people. The walls are well decorated with a enormous mosaic tile ensemble exported from Baguio and yes... its Instagram - worthy.

First time I ate at Consuela I wasn't able to take a photo of the Chimichangga I ordered and wss kinda sad 'cos Consuelq is really far from where I live. Anyway I was fortunate enough to have been around the area and dropped by the hole for their Chimi. It's really big for P180 so if your appetite is not that big I recommend you share it. I love how it's not oily and the beef is not overly spiced so you won't get "umay" that easily. Their Beef Quesadillas were really good too and their lemonade is made with real lemons so you're getting your money's worth 'cos it's not the cheap powdered lemonade that we can all recognize. Service is commendable too.
