It's our family's go-to resto in Marikina. Tasty chicken & lumpiang shanghai. Absolutely delicious soup like wonton and nido soup, our favorite, its a perfect soup after a tiring day. Dont forget their pancit, you can neve go wrong. Personal fav is their yang chow. Well, everything on the menu tastes good. I hope hindi din kayo magsasawang kumaen dito.

Best Panciteria for hubby and me! Default orders are hototay soup (still trying to find a place that serves this better because for us no one can beat Luyong’s Hototay soup yet!) and their lumpia shanghai (same with this, haven’t found anyone who can do lumpia shanghai better)!

Their pancit or noodles are good, surprisingly tasty despite not too much soy sauce (I’m just assuming since they serve this with light colored as opposed to some establishment serving this dark because of soy sauce).

Ampalaya con carne is a bit on the bitter side but works ok for me, sauce is tasty as well.

We’re from Paranaque but whenever we are in the East area, we try to drop by Luyong specially when we’re craving and missing their dishes. Nothing beats the classics!

A bit of a disappointment. Went there 1pm to try the famous lumpiang Shanghai only to be told that it's not available anymore. Considering it's a Sunday, they should have anticipated the lunch crowd. Ordered pansit canton con lechon, it was a bit too salty for my taste. Will try to come back one more time for that lumpiang Shanghai.

Marikina is no longer the way it was. In the recent years, it has embraced a more city vibe with shopping centers and food hubs. Despite this, homegrown restaurants remain present like Luyong. This place continues to be a reliable venue to enjoy affordable Chinese/ Filipino cuisine.

I had a short stint here before visiting a friend in Marikina Valley Hospital. Service was quick and portions of dishes were really generous. I got two saucy and flavor filled entrees, Chicken with Ampalaya and Mixed Seafood with Vegetables. It was clearly for 2-3 and I spent less than Php 500 for it. Cool deal right?

They got two branches, the other in Concepcion which is fitting for events given its size. I heard the Pancit Canton with Lechon here is too good. I should come back.

I love Luyong. I love their crews, their food and their place. So far, lahat naman ng inoorder namin masarap. Though this specific branch of Luyong is less when it comes to place compared sa other branches ng Luyong like in Concepcion. Pero it's a must-try. 👍🏻

We had our lunch here one time with the whole family. A famous pancitan in marikina. I love their pancit canton. It comes with bog serving a lot of toppings. I also loved their lumapiang shanghai here. Very flavorful and meaty. A mus try resto in marikina.

I think all Marikina home grown folks know about Luyong Restaurant. The branch in San Roque is smaller than the one in Concepcion and not as fancy looking as your typical restaurant. My family loves Luyong Restaurant. Not only do they serve delicious "lutong Marikina" food but they priced their menu very affordably. Don't be fooled by the cheap price because their serving is sufficient and of course, yummy. We sometimes call them for food pick up when we have family events.

I love their pansit with lechon, lumpiang shang hai and chop suey. Their restaurants are spacious where you can hold birthday celebrations or wedding receptions. Over the years Luyong's menu has grown which includes a wide selection of dishes to make your dining experience even more memorable. If you want to treat yourself, this is perfect spot for you.

I am a big fan of this restaurant. Hands down, the food here are both tasty and affordable. Their lumpiang shanghai is to die for. The taste of the meat is very distinguishable despite that it's been fried. Unlike the traditional lumpiang shanghai, the wrapper is not very crispy but not too sloppy either.
Another favorite is their hototay soup. The whitish soup is a good side dish. Not salty, not bland. It's enough to entice the palate and will make you eat more (oh the horror!)
However, the main dishes like chopseuy, peas with shrimp, chicken with tofu and the like seem to have the same sauce. I guess that's their trick for their quick cooking time.
For 1,300, you will have 1 soup, 2 orders of lumpiang shanghai, and 4 main dishes. Not bad for small Chinese-Filipino restaurant.
May i point out that i am reviewing the Sto. Niño branch and not the concepcion dos branch. For whatever reason, the food on the latter doesn't taste the same as with the original branch. I guess this is an example of the sequel not giving justice to the franchise.

I think every Marikeño knows Luyong. It's a go-to for simple birthday, baptismal, and graduation celebrations. But we, in Marikina, go here just to dine even without occasions. The price is just right and you'll definitely not go home unsatisfied. You can never go wrong with their Hototay Guisado, Pancit, and Lumpiang Shanghai.

Luyong is part of my childhood! Many restaurants have surfaced but this restaurant will remain an institution in Marikina. Will keep on returning to Luyong for their nostalgic pancit, lumpia and corn soup.

I've been going here for more than 2 decades now. I've tried a lot of pancit canton restaurants, I've even google the top 10 pancit canton in Metro Manila and went there to all of them. From Quezon city to Quiapo, even in Malabon. Luyong  is still on top of my list for best pancit canton. You have to order "special pancit canton with lechon". Without the lechon, its still good but not the same. Under rated restaurant. Highly recommended. Price is medial.

Very satisfied. Ordered lechon kawali, bowl of rice, mikibihon with lechon toppings and beef brocolli. Service is fast. Food was cooked exactly how it should be. Brocolli was crunchy, beef meat was so tender and the sauce is so tasty that you will ask for more rice. Lechon fried...tamang tama lang ang pag ka fried and the skin is talagang malutong served with there own made sauce. Mikibihon also good. Well cooked noodles and veggies. Paid around 700/4 pax (2 seniors, 2 paying adult and toddler). 2 thums up.

During a "joy ride" around Marikina (it had been raining and was cold, and we were pretty shallow), my parents took us kids to Luyong at the insistence that we not eat at another place run by mascots. Being the fast food lover that I was (and still am), I was naturally disappointed when our original plan to grab a bite at the Golden Arches was changed to a visit to this place I've never heard of that served grown-up food (as I liked to refer to anything that didn't resemble pizza or a burger). I remember actually thinking "(fast food place) na, naging bato pa," as my sisters and I tromped into Luyong.

Luyong's menu consisted of Chinese dishes common to every Filipino family. At least there's something I can eat here, I thought as my parents placed orders of food that we kids recognized so they know we'd eat them.

A few minutes of waiting and our tables were loaded with serving dishes filled with food that at least smelled awesome. Okay, so things are looking up, I decided as I cased the spread in front of me. I took a little bit of everything and commenced tasting them. And boy, was my initial disappointment replaced with pure joy.

The yang chow rice was the epitome of the expression "kanin pa lang, ulam na": fragrant and filling with bits of egg, vegetables, pork and shrimp. A plate of lumpiang shanghai was enough to feed two or three people (okay, one, if you're that hungry), and was crispy and cooked to golden brown perfection. The fried chicken? As satisfying to a kid as fried chicken can be. Forgive me for not sampling all the other dishes; I was a kid in uncharted territory, remember?

What I liked most about Luyong was how comfortably homey the food was. Sure, some form of the food in their menu are probably congealing in your fridge as we speak, but on a day when you're out and don't feel like cooking and want something familiar, it's definitely a welcome feeling. The place itself is clean enough, with a friendly wait staff always nearby. And the food is worth every centavo you pay for it.

Now I look back with fondness at that day, chuckling at my naiveté about food and how it can actually be more than the kind you get in styro boxes or paper cups. It's also amazing to realize that some of the best foods have yet to be pulled into the spotlight, as many common and overrated establishments have these days. To me, these realizations came when I visited this little, relatively unknown restaurant tucked away in Marikina.
