Cafe janealo is a cozy place located just neside the Manila Cathedral. A great place to chill on a hot weather. We ordered several rice meals like lechon kawali, laing, salisbury steak, salmon salad, pizza and calamares. Overall food taste is okay, very soft and tender lechon kawali, and the pizaa is like 2 thin layers which is crispy. The iced coffee was not okay, but the presentation is cool.
We visited the place twice and will consider visiting again. Their food is good and fresh - special mention to the clam chowder, bagoong rice, shrimp in the salad and the lasagna (one of the best lasagnas we have tried).
The service was also good and the crew are nice. On our second visit, we ordered 3 menu items. Our third food took too long but one of the crew members approached and nicely informed us that the order got behind other orders so it was not prepared in time. He asked us if we want to wait for it to be cooked but since it was almost late in the evening we decided not to place the order anymore. That third order was the chicken wings. We will just try them on our next visit.
One thing in my mind for their improvement is their restroom: a better water supply, tissue, the way the sliding door opens/closes, toilet seat cover and flush. Other stuff so far are satisfactory.
Great Food! Cool Ambiance and classic design. WIFI friendly and with courteous staff. Owner is also hands-on to her Resto. She gave opportunity to those midget sized people, I salute you Ma'am for that!
Cafe Janealo is one of the cafes that's just a walking distance from school. This is where my classmates and I would spend our break time sometimes while having cake or their frappe. I like their food and the place is nice plus it's conducive for studying too.
Intramuros is one of my favorite places in Manila because of it’s vintagey look, as if I never get tired of walking and taking pictures around it. My problem was, though there are numbers of restaurants inside Intra, and most of them are quite expensive. Though I am a foodie, I don’t commit myself to spending too much just for the sake of reviewing them especially I don’t get anything from blogging yet. Walang balik, kumbaga. So you know my reviews are purely based from honesty and not just because I am paid. (Don’t worry guys, if they pay me I’ll still be honest lol.)
Really great coffee jelly!!! Perfect to drink after walking around Intramuros. Great food as well! Price is affordable and the staff is really hospitable! GREAT JOB!
I swear they serve the best Oreo Frappe!! The sweetness is very moderate. I also tried their Carbonara and Kani Sandwich and they’re really good. The price is a bit high considering they were located around schools but its worth it though
Walking around Intramuros can get you tired and exhausted. Revitalize yourself in the hippest cafe in the area. Take shelter from the sweltering heat and your aching feet by relaxing in the cool cafe just around the corner. Perfect for a mouthwatering bite of food and a refreshing beverage before heading back out.
