Sipa (deep-fried pork dumplings), sweet chili prawns, embutido (Filipino-Spanish sausage).
So lucky that the head Chef/ owner of this restaurant, Chef Jay Obsequio is a good friend of the person that I was with, and upon chatting with him, realized that he was good friends too with some of my colleagues at work; he entertained us very well and was so nice to give us a generous discount. Perks. Small world lol.
Onto the food. Their specialties are stuffed squid and sipa. Wasn't able to try the squid as it was already sold out when we came in. So sipa--I've tried lots of fried dumplings before but this one was especially good. The wrapper was thin and with the perfect amount of crisp; the pork filling was tasty and with a distinct vinegary taste. A real must-try. The sweet chili prawns have a very good sauce, just bummed out that the prawns were a little overcooked. The embutido was really good too, packed with flavor. And their "special sauce" was special for a reason. Over all, good restaurant and affordable too.
Introduced the family to this classic hole-in-the-wall chinese restaurant that used to have other branches in the metro but now is only located in this area. They don't have a menu so you would have to get help from their personnel. Ordered several dishes plus 4 cups of white rice and it only cost me just a little over a thousand pesos which greatly surprised the wifey. She said that given the taste and quantity of the food we ordered it was well worth looking for this place.
My favorite here is their sipa and garlic rice. They are also famous for their stuffed squid. We also tried their spareribs and kikiam but it was just average.
