Love matcha? The Matcha Chocolate Cake (whole cake-PhP 1200, slice-PhP 125) is quite good. Featuring four layers of dense and rich chocolate cake, the matcha in it wasn’t too overpowering. Instead, it brought both rounded sweetness and a pleasant bitterness, providing a depth that’s light and refreshing. With the top layer outfitted with whipped cream, this cake is a delicious hit.

The Raspberry Cupcake (PhP 55) almost got me in the mood for Valentine’s Day. 😛 This pretty in pink, berry-luscious, moist cupcake had a tart and tangy flavor in a thick melt-in-your-mouth cloud of buttercream. I enjoyed it a lot!

Sweet Avenue Cafe’s Assorted Squares (PhP 120 for 9 pieces, PhP 220 for 18 pieces) and Cookies (Chocolate Chip-PhP 20, White Choco Macadamia-PhP 25, Matcha Almond-PhP 28) are presentable gifts to bring home this holiday season. Light in consistency, they are tasty in bite-size pieces and the flavors are interesting.

As far as pairing goes, you can go with ice blended drinks, enjoy a few with hot coffee, or go bold with fresh guyabano shake or halo-halo. Other recommended drinks are as follows: Cafe Americano, Cafe Latte, Cappucino, Cafe Mocha, Caramel Machiato, White Mocha, Irish Mocha (PhP 80-120).

The place is cozy and they have lots to offer on their menu. I tried their blueberry cheesecake and chocolate mousse. Their blueberry cheesecake is good, but the grahams have after taste (for me) . The chocolate mousse is not too sweet which is good but on the other hand, the chocolate sponge is dry ( i prefer chewy)

It's a really nice café. Friendly staff and clean place. The owner even approached us herself. The cakes and pastries were just delightful and not over-the-top sweet. They have free wifi which is a plus for restos these day. I had a nice experience with this café

SWEET AVENUE CAFE
Leon Guinto, Malate, Manila

The cozy place would remind you of your own home, decors are changed every now and then, from paintings, to toys, to flowers, to cakes and even family portraits.

The service crew are all well mannered and attentive. Sometimes even the owners take part in cooking, preparing and serving the orders. When the owner is present, they also take time to have some chit chat with their customers and make sure they enjoy the meals.

Aside from different flavored cupcakes and cookies, meaty meals are also served. Every now and then, they also add new dishes and drinks to the menu.

#SEAFOODCLAYPOT mixed rice, seafoods, mushrooms and veggies are cooked in a claypot the topped with raw egg (pagkadating sa mesa namin luto na yung egg syempre). Burst of flavors can be tasted. Oh! and watch out it is really hot, you might burn your tongue ahahaa!

And for our drinks, we ordered #FreshGuyabanoShake , #KiwiIcedTea and #KiwiShake

Also try their #BeefCurry and #Chicken #Claypot which can be shared by two persons.

Come, visit and enjoy!

Went here with friends early this year and I was about to write a review about my experience here, sadly though it still wasn't in zomato. But I'm glad it is now because people should know about this awesome place.

So my friends went here for a saturday dinner. They have been dining in this place for like three times already before I had the chance to tag along with them. So this place is a hidden gem located along the streets of Leon Guinto and just use Quirino street to find this place. As soon as we got there, I knew this place is going to give me a good experience. For one, the place looks very nice, very homey and very humbling, with pots of small plants as ornaments for the cafe. The place was small though, but they did accomodate us even if we came there in a big group of 10. And then the food. I remembered getting myself the chicken claypot. Fried rice with rich flavors from the chicken and other vegetables with huge chunks of chicken breast served in a hot hot claypot. I love this dish. Very flavorful and filling. This dish goes with the saying "kanin pa lang, ulam na!" Then since it's a cafe, cheesecakes and variants of pastries were also offered. And we were so lucky we got to dine here on a Saturday night because on Saturdays, they offer 20% off from their pastry! Wow, weren't we lucky? So of course I have to try their cakes, majority of us got the red velvet cake and I figured why not, and so did I. The cake came in this huge wedge of beauty. Too big in serving at less than a hundred pesos! What a snatch! I remembered the cake not really meeting my expectations for it was a little dry for me, but for the most parts like the sweetness, it still was good enough. Since we were in a big group when we dined there, some of my friends did order different meals. Luckily, I got to try them. The baked mac tasted wonderful at a very affordable price, the peach mango milkshake was a bit strange-tasting for me although still refreshing, and the blueberry cheesecake was heaven. So all in all, the food they offer were great. And lastly for their service. I love it! The owner of the cafe (which I believe she was because she looked like one) was very very accomodating! She had big smiles as soon as we entered the cafe, as she personally served our dishes, and up to taking pictures of us. She even told us if it wasn'to too much of a big deal for us to like their pages on facebook and instagram. I just have big love for accomodating and kind restaurant owners. She seemed so humble and very hands-on with the cafe :)

So to sum it all up, the experience was one hell of a good one! Relaxing ambience, great food, kind and humbling cafe owner and on top of that, at affordable price, you just want to come back again and again. :)

Found out about this place through Zomato and I must say....Awesome pastries! The place is somewhat hard to find, but the food and pastries are worth the travel. Their lunch menu are also not bad considering that it's a dessert place and not really a dine out place. The staff were also very pleasant. Will definitely go back to this cafe in the heart of Leon Guinto.
