The Eight Great Traditions of Chinese are compromised of Cantonese, Sinchuan, Shandong, Fujian, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Hunan. "Hoo-nan" is a mountainous region from the south of China. Hunan cuisine is well-known for its hot and spicy flavors, fresh aroma and deep colors. . China had always been on my to-go list specifically Beijing and Shanghai, I didn't know that China has a lot of offers when it comes to food. While I'm still saving up for that China trip and waiting for seat sale (ehem! CebuPac, AirAsia :P), I'm glad that more and more Chinese dishes are now being available here in Manila.
Spectacular Dining and Ambience, the location is perfert, their service fast and nice, dilicious seafood dish at A bite of Sichuan, highly recommend the seafood, yuuuuummmmmmy~Great Chinese food in BGC, A must visit dining experiece when in BGC.
Growing up, I was never fond of eating spicy food. As much as I could I would avoid them because I have very low tolerance for it. I also hate the numbing feeling that lingers on my mouth which in turn makes me drink more water, I get full easily and don’t get to enjoy the food I’m eating. But as I grow older, I’ve tried spicy food once in a while and I progressed to liking them that there was even a time I would always eat spicy Caldereta, dynamites (chili filled with cheese) and even a spicy Sinigang because I started to enjoy the kick. Although there are just dishes that are too spicy for me, but I am a brave girl, so I still try to eat some.
If I remember it right this is my 5th time to a Schezuan Chinese Restaurant. Among the five I've been to I noticed what they have in common... The strong spicy flavor of course, but all differ with the native ingredients depending on what province of China they came from. This one though is from the city of Hunan. Thus, each authentic Hunan dish was brought here not only for Chinese people living in the Philippines but also to my fellow Pinoys who have a common interest in eating spicy flavored dishes. That's why during the Zomato x Jufran Dinner event with the Foodies, we get to try what a bite of Hunan taste like. Tofu Pudding Kung Pao Chicken General Tso's chicken Spicy Fried Clam Spicy Fish Head Chicken with Chili Sauce Beef Ox Tongue Marinated Duck Wing Duck Blood Stew No single recipe was plain but extremely flavored and seasoned. The Big Fish was even originated from China. Clams, Mushroom, Tilapia dishes and Ox tongue plus the Shrimp dish would definitely be popular with the Filipinos. But what gave us more thrill is the chance to play with the Premium Sauce line from Thailand that is Jufran. Certain sauces perfectly matched some of the Restos dishes and surely elevated our meal like the Cuapao to Sweet & Spicy Sauce. The different Jufran bottles available are...
👍Sriracha Ketchup
👍Jufran Hot Sauce
👍 Sweet & Spicy
👍Banana Ketchup
👍 Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce

This was my second times visiting this restaurant. Tasty food, exceptional experience, thank you to all the staff at A bite of hunan, Fantastic meal and atmosphere. Highly enjoyable!
It's my first time to try Hunan cuisine and it did not disappoint! I prefer mildly spicy food but I loved the strong flavors here in A Bite of Hunan.
I particularly like the shredded duck stew and soft tofu. The braised tilapia, scallops and shrimp were also good. Make sure to order watermelon shake as the refreshing taste counters the spiciness of the food. :)
Hunan is considered one of the most sought after Chinese cuisine. It showcases dynamic and strong flavors, with a strong association with sour and spicy notes.
We had our Christmas Party meeting here at Bite of Hunan BGC. They also have a branch in Circuit Makati.
When visiting for the first time, I recommend having the Braised Brisket Beef, tender meet in slightly spiced tomato sauce. This dish is best paired with Fried French Beans or Steamed Broccoli.
Bite of Hunan has familiar Hakao (Shrimp Dumpling) and Xiao Long Bao too. And if more on the adventurous side, explore the best selling Spicy Fish Head, it’s good for a group of 4-6.
out of the eight great traditions of chinese cuisine, we’re having a bite of hunan here in BGC and i my taste buds got to sample the bold, fresh, hot, sour and dynamite flavors this place prides about.
the best was the large silver carp dish. for a small size order, this one’s huge and the egg noodles that it’s served w/ was enveloped well w/ the spicy red sauce that was surprisingly more flavorful when eaten w/ thw noodles.
