This is arguably the holy grail of fresh lumpia. One wrong turn and you'll miss this place. Took me a few wrong turns (I'm bad at directions and they are tucked inside an old building) and several minutes before I found their place. But it was so worth it. They can give their Quiapo counterpart a run for their money. A must visit when you are doing a food trip in Binondo. Just a little tip, try not to stuff yourself on the way to this place because their lumpia is not only satisfying to the palate but also very filling. Burp!

Hands-down, THE best lumpiang gulay ever. Very generous in terms of filling and the amount of peanuts add that yummy crunch. Best paired with their hot, pork/fish maki mi soup. My husband and I always make sure to stop by this place whenever we are in Binondo. :)

Ambience: It was hot during our evening visit but this is expected of other establishments in the area. It's a really simple place that's more about food than interior. Self-service water is available. Food: Their Lumpia recipe is excellent! It's a delicious mix of sweet and salty goodness and due to its size, two of us shared one order. It's slightly pricy but very delicious anyway, and at least it's healthy. Service: Par to expectations: We enjoyed watching them prepare each order!

One of the best lumpia I have ever tasted!

There's sweetness, saltiness and a little kick (maybe coming from the pepper? Not so sure tho.) But seriously, this is the best part of my Binondo food trip! My kabayan was saying that it's quite expensive for 70php, but when he tasted it, he said, it's really worth the money!

New Po-Heng's Lumpia has thin lumpia wrapper and looks small compared with regular fresh lumpia but once you cut the former, the wrapper will unveil fresh vegetables, hoti and nuts. New Po-Heng Lumpia has a distinct texture due to its filling and it provides refreshing flavor coming from the vegetables and a peanutbuttery after taste. New Po-Heng Lumpia costs Php 95.

If you're a fresh lumpia lover, you have to visit New Po Heng in Binondo!

I don't want to make this review too long, because you only need to know one thing: Their lumpia is one of the BEST fresh lumpia I've ever had.

Just make sure to use maps or ask around because getting here is quite a maze, an easy maze!

Also, the restaurant can only fit a small number of people so just get their lumpia to go!

Okay. Been so grateful this second time around 'di kami nasaraduhan. The lumpia is plain on the outside it looks smaller BUT... yes there's a but. Once you slice it into half BOOM! you will witness the fresh ingredients, smells so good and taste like the freshest lumpia I had in my life - right amount of peanut and veggie plus the sauce. So my advice is that buy one lumpia first since it makes your tummy happy and full.

One of the best fresh lumpias I’ve had in town! You could taste that the ingredients were really fresh. I love how generous the servings were. Although the sauce was on the sweeter side, it was able to complement the roll pretty well. I hope next time they can add fresh lettuce leaves to the dish.

Will definitely come back for more!

Best fresh lumpia in the world!

They used to be located inside a building in Quintin Paredes St. But they moved to a smaller location because the building will be demolished.

Sad that they now inly have three tables. So it is best t9 just order take out. Nevertheless, the quality of the food remains the same. Same delicious taste as ever.

The ambience is very different from what I saw but nothing negative about the place. Fresh lumpia is a very “must-try” dish!!! Peanut taste is very evident that makes the fresh lumpia very tasty. Lumpia is very compact that I had to share with my boyfriend because I am full already. A great thumbs up!!

I've been to other lumpia houses in Chinatown and they sure are trying to copy how New Po Heng makes its signature lumpiang sariwa. But nothing beats the original. New Po Heng's lumpia is fresh, flavorful and price-wise, P95 isn't that bad. I like the addition of hoti (dried seaweeds), it gives the lumpia a unique, distinct flavor. I would've given this a perfect rating if it wasn't for the sauce. I am not a fan of its consistency/texture, which is slimy and thick. This should easily be improved by using another type of cornstarch.

Went to their old place and found out they moved across the street (along the fruit stands beside BDO). Their new place is well lit and much cleaner than the previous one. It was our 2nd time eating their Lumpia and we really loved it! Their lumpia is hot when served, has lots of nuts and veggies. It was actually why we decided to go back to Binondo again.

5 stars!

Had their Fresh Lumpia, our 3rd stop. One helping is big enough for two, since it is so compact, we had to share. I love the crunch of the ground peanuts already mixed with the vegies inside. It is kinda sweet, not the usual ground peanut i taste in other fresh lumpia i have tried.

We looked for the place and turned into this narrow alley from the main Quintin Paredes Road. We did not expect that we would find it there, the ambiance/look was different from the ones posted in other reviews, the place looked smaller. Although there were alot of stuff along the alley, the new po heng place is clean! It was almost 3pm in the afternoon, just a customer or 2 were there, so we were able to get a table immediately.

I wonder what is it like to be there during night time? The street is narrow and dark, the whole stretch of it has some diplay of fruits, vegies, chinese products and medicinal items being sold along with other food nooks. Overall, the Lumpia tasted good! The place is straighforward, you go there, just eat, enjoy and then leave...

Went here to try their Lumpia. But since we were able to find seats inside, ended up ordering their Pork/Fish Maki, and Kiampong as well.

The Lumpia was definitely the highlight of their menu. You can really taste the peanut in the filling which works well when you add the sauce. The pork maki as well as the fish maki were okay, but did not really stand out. The Kiampong on the other hand was good and filling. They also have tea which pairs really well with their menu items.

2nd stop in our Binondo Food Crawl.

New Po Heng Lumpia House serves really good fresh Chinese lumpia. It has the perfect mix of vegetables and peanuts with that thin Lumpia wrapper.

Getting a seat is a challenge so better to have it to-go or eat while standing.

One Lumpia is good for 2 people if you are doing a food crawl.

The new poheng lumpia house is definitely offering the best lumpia taste, just be careful with the wrapper because it can easily break.

Just check the location again because i think they have moved already. We cant find the old site but the new 'pop-up' site is located at carvajal street. See my pic attached for our visit earlier.

I love fresh lumpia so I went here with a friend who told me that they're one of the best places to go to for my cravings. I wasn't disappointed at all.

This gem is hidden in Paredes street, so you need to pay attention to the buildings (or you could just ask the locals there).

It's the pork maki that I didn't like... or maybe because after eating two fresh lumpias, I was just so full that I didn't get to appreciate the pork maki. It's probably the latter because my friend loves it.

Don't expect too much when it comes to the "ambiance". It's like a well-maintained carinderia-type of place. It's inadvisable to bring your car here.

This was the first stop on the Binondo Food Wok that my officemates and I went to. I heard of this from other blogs but I was quite apprehensive. After all, what could be special about lumpia? It turns out there is a whole lot where our Filipino lumpia came from! According to our guide, this lumpia here at New Po Heng is not like our variations of Shanghai, ubod, gulay, sariwa, etc. In China, this is just lumpia (or something that we now pronounce as lumpia, sorry I forgot the actual word/pronunciation).
The lumpia here is filled with meat, veggies, tofu, and wrapped in a wrapper similar to lumpiang sariwa. It's a big roll, almost like a burrito! The correct way to eat it, according to our guide, is to spread a sweet soy sauce base onto the lumpia "face", then garnish it with fried noodles + seaweed, some sugar if I remember right, and then some vinegar and garlic. Quite a lot of effort but oh so worth it! The resulting bite is complex. Full of tastes, textures, and surprises. I would recommend that 2-3 people share a lumpia as it can be really filling.

Giving the place a 4 for now since I haven't tried the other dishes. But there is free tea in a dispenser here so yayyyy! And the building where the stall is located is an exquisite old building. So worth the visit!!!

During my very first visit here, I was led inside a random building in China town and when we finally got to New Po Heng, I was surprised to see a number of people there enjoying lumpia. Lumpia might be an under rated dish but is delicious and addicting when they make it right. And New Po Heng definitely makes theirs perfectly. Choose their lumpia and enjoy their sweet sauce and hot sauce. It’s wrapped well, and every bite has different textures and contrasting tastes. Balanced and delicious. Will definitely be back soon.

I've tried different chinese lumpia before. So far, i like this one the most. i find it more flavorful compared to others. the sauce as well tastes good though the qty is too little for the lumpia 🤔. For the mixture, it's kind of different compared from other restaurants (most only use turnips and carrots) but i still liked theirs better 😋.

Our whole extended family had a Binondo Food Trip... We braved the rain, the traffic and the busy streets to sample the culinary treats Chinatown has to offer... 🎋🎏🎎

We met up at the Binondo Church, which our family (4 of us) had a difficult time finding! Parking was difficult, so get there early... We started of at this resto, inside a pink Art Deco building, right at the first floor... And we came for the famous fresh lumpia!!!👍

Please be reminded when you undergo this tour-- walang maarte!!! Please lang sa mga naghahanap ng ambience or mag-cocomplain about the chairs or something... You go here for the tasty cheap food! The ambience is the magulo and fast paced Binondo! Wear comfy shoes, bring an umbrella, and leave the valuables behind! Then you are ready to go!😊

We ordered several pieces of the lumpia and they made it pretty fast! It was fun to watch them make the lumpia! They were very adept and fast! The lumpia is made of fresh veggies with sugar and garlic... Very yummy with or without the sauce! Super sulit at P50 each!👍👍👍 just enjoy the lumpia then go to your second stop!😊

P.S. Kainis si ate, hindi marunong mag-picture! Oh, and the rest room is relatively clean!😁

Not a glamorous place for sure but you will like it for its lumpia and all the rest of the food it offers. Simple but delicious. It is a hiffen place, an atmospheric place with its kind of urban garden in between buildings in the heart of Binondo. Notice the superb very large chinese ceramic jar at the entrance. I'm a huge fan of fresh lumpia. I would eat it as often as I could so I was not too optimistic about this one. I knew I had high standards when it comes to fresh lumpia so I just went in with an open mind. Lo and behold! I was pleasantly surprised by the great textures and flavors of the lumpia served at the New Po-Heng Lumpia House. The fresh, crispy vegetables were enhanced by the crunchy peanuts and garlic. The real star was the thick, sweet sauce that I could not help but pile onto my lumpia. among all of the things that we tried on this food crawl, this is the one that I am looking forward to having again. If I would find any fault in it, I would change the wrapper into the softer egg wrapper that's usually used in fresh lumpia. The one they used here was a bit tough like an uncooked version of the one used for fried lumpiang Shanghai.

Finding it at first adds to the thrill and once you're there, you'll feel nostalgic with the feels of those old Chinese movies you may have watched before. It feels very humbling to have an experience in here so price here is very much affordable. And each order, whatever you may choose, will truly satisfy your cravings. My Mom requested for their lumpia while she was confined in a hospital. I was curious because it's all that she requested. She was bragging how the lumpia tastes, so I finally decided to bring her one and when I was about to put the sauce on top, she stopped me. Said that there's no need for it because once you taste the lumpia, it'll taste like a sauce has been put on it already. All the more curious I became, so I just gotta try even for just a single bite. And yes, it was that good that comes for a very affordable price.

How to spot this place? It's alongside the McDonald's in Masangkay Street.

Read a lot about this place! This has been on the to-try list around Binondo since I don't know when. I can say that out of all the places we've been to during our foodtrip in Binondo, this was the standout, the favorite, and the one that exceeded our expectations. The restaurant isn't much in terms of the ambiance. It doesn't have air-conditioning, the tables and chairs are just simple, and it seems like it is located in a bodega. But at least their servers are really nice, and the food was amazing! It didn't seem like we were eating a healthy dish, and for a cheap, cheap cost! You should never miss putting this on your list when in Binondo.

New Po Heng is part of the Binondo Food Tour curated by Ivan Man Dy. It just across an Eng Bee Tin store in Quintin Paredes, it is located inside the building lobby with foldable chairs and tables in their setup.

The store/restaurant is famous for their Chinese fresh lumpia. Presently, they also serve maki soup and kiampong as an extension to their offering.

The fresh lumpia waa filled with sauteed vegetables, fried noodle crisps, dried nori seaweed, ground peanuts, and a lettuce. The lumpia is paired with the sweet brown sauce. I like their lumpia here, it tastes like lumpia. They're not the best for me, but its still good. I like it with more peanuts, and some fresh minced garlic inside, like how my grandma does it.

When we go to binondo back then, we would just walk around, buy food and stuffs without noticing the name of the store, we just know where it is. But thanks to Ivan Man Dy, stores like New Po Heng has been named and recognized through the years and has been part of everybodys checklist of their Binondo tour.

New Po-Heng Lumpia House is a popular in Binondo known for their Lumpia Sariwa, a Chinese-style fresh lumpia. A number of foodies love going to New Po-Heng because the rolls of lumpia is both huge and very affordable! They also serve Maki Mi, a noodle soup that's not as popular as their lumpia but is pretty good. If you haven't been here before, make sure that New Po-Heng is part of your Binondo Food Crawl itinerary.

Rating more for the lumpia than the place itself. The place is quite hard to find since you still have to go inside a gated hallway to reach a small dining area (which feels like a bodega) with barely any food choices. This is because their highlight is the fresh lumpia which, for 50 pesos each, is packed in all corners with juicy vegetables and a generous helping of sweet nuts and seaweed. The lumpia is delicious on its own, but I always ask for extra packs of sauce to up the sweetness and flavor!

Pretty much the same taste as with GLOBE in Raon just bigger. I didn't like the sauce though, it's too sticky for me. But the insides of the lumpia is flavourful especially the seaweeds that they add that makes the taste a bit more special.

Best soup I have had in a long time. This was my very first visit to New Po Heng and I was just BLOWN AWAY by all the comforting goodness I was surrounded in!

We had the Maki Mi Noodle Soup with steamed dumplings and served in a light and clean fish broth. The noodles were good, very springy and the bowl was pretty large and could feed two people. The dumplings were alright, not the greatest, they sort of reminded me of the frozen ones you can cook at home, it was okay.

I do recommend their Lumpia (fresh vegetable spring roll), it was really, really good! The sauce that comes with it is tasty and really helped round the flavors up because there was just something about it that seemed a little different (in a good way) than the other fresh vegetable spring rolls that I've had.

This place is definitely one of those little hole in the wall places that's a must! Again, they don't try to complicate the food. Simple, good, and affordable. Just what me and my friends wanted.

As our friends from Binondo will attest, New Po Heng Lumpia House serves as a good introduction to Chinese cuisine as it is found in Manila's own Chinatown. For centuries, immigrants from the Chinese province of Fujian have been coming to the Philippines and settling down in Binondo; although specialties from Canton (Guangdong), Sichuan, and maybe even Beijing can be found in different restaurant menus, Binondo cuisine is predominantly Fujianese.

In New Po Heng, the humble aspects of Fujian cuisine are evident in the simple filling breakfast and snack food consumed, historically at first, by Chinatowners; today we get a glimpse of that in dishes such as their fresh lumpia, flavored with stewed vegetables, ground peanut sweetened with a little sugar, and crunchy fried vermicelli bits; misua soup; and fish or pork dumplings in a thick soup called maki mi, made heartier with the addition of thin yellow wheat noodles.

New Po Heng serves this food in 'turo-turo' kitchenette surroundings. The staff assembles mounds of lumpia filling into substantial logs, which I think are good for a hungry man, but also good for sharing by 2 or 3 people.

Fluffy dumplings will be found in both the pork and fish maki mi, while the noodles remind me of Cantonese style noodles.

Like I said, it is cheap and filling: P50 will get you one big lumpia, and P55 is the price of their noodles.

Come by early on Saturdays, and you might bump into Ivan Man Dy, who makes this little restaurant a landmark on his Binondo Wok food tour.

We often kid the walking into New Po Heng is like walking into the twilight zone. Although there is a huge sign outside, you will walk a short distance along a small, dark hallway before reaching an outdoor garden, that is the restaurant.

There is nothing really fancy about the ambiance indoors, it is like your regular carinderia, but no one can match the fresh lumpia they serve. The ingredients are made fresh everyday and the staffs are the most courteous and friendly of all, always greeting you with a smile.

We usually order lumpia for merienda or for dinner, it is a meal in itself. Unlike other restaurants whose lumpia can be finished in 3 bites, New Po Heng's lumpia is rather large that is difficult to put the roll in one bite, unless you have a big mouth. The lumpia wrapper is thin so as to allow the flavors of the filling to star. Each serving comes with a special sauce. Price is less than a hundred.

New Po Heng also serves Chinese snacks like misua soup, and the Chinese pares: pork maki and kiampong (chinese salted rice).

Good food, service with a smile, authentic, and cheap eats, no wonder it never fails to make it to the top 10 food stops in Binondo!
