Had a great time with friends playing a good, good game of Werewords. We played for 4 hours? Recommending this game for a big group (6 or more).

It was suggested by one of the gamemasters, who is also super kind and accommodating. I’m glad we listened to him.

I just wish they had at least 2 of the same game so we dont wait for others.

Food is okay! Try the place out. Hope it thrives in Greenfield.

Hope to be back :)

Gone are the days when you hear your parents stopping you from playing while eating. Well, not totally gone I might say because of this wonderful restaurant that allows you to enjoy your food while having fun at the same time, Grid X Griddle Gastrolounge and Gaming. “Grid” most probably came from the grids we see in some boardgames while “Griddle” is from the type of cookware that you use to whip up delicious recipes.

If you want to spend quality time with family and friends over board games and a whole lot of fun. Then, @gridandgriddle is the place to be. 😊 They serve good food and they have so many board games to choose from. The Calamari and it’s dip and the truffle pasta are my favorites. Interesting dishes that you should try are the GxG Pizza and GxG Fries.

The interior is pretty spacious and lively, making it enjoyable to eat and play games inside. The food servings are good but I think the food, especially the appetizers are too overpriced. Meanwhile I love the wide selection of food. The durian dessert needs more kick of durian

I grew up loving playing games, I mean just about any games, name it, indoor and outdoor games, even sometimes games not meant for little girls. One of the games that I loved growing up were board games, like Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly and Scrabble. I usually play it with my sister and our neighborhood friends when we are not allowed to go out or if it’s raining or too hot to play outside. When I started getting older, I rarely play boards games as my interests changed. But when I have the chance to play them on occasions, I still enjoy doing so.

At Grid x Griddle Gastrolounge and Gaming (also known as GxG), diners can enjoy delicious Asian-Western fusion dishes while enjoying their favorite board or card games. Together with my foodie friends from #WeLoveToEatPH and #SaanSaPH, I visited GxG to check out its food offerings. Opened in 2017, the restaurant is owned by avid board gamers. Its name even gives a clue to this fact: “grid” comes from the network of squares found in boardgames, while “griddle” refers to the flat metal plate used in cooking burgers, bacon and pancakes, among others.

We don’t know about you, but we love to put down our phones and just spend the entire day playing board games. Grid X Griddle (GxG) is the nearest board game cafe from our home, just across actually. So we’d definitely be a patron of this since we’ve first tried it now. It’s a humble loft located at The Hub, Greenfield, with a second floor fit for private game sessions, or a homey place for a quick grub.

GxG has a lot to offer when it comes to board game selections. They even have this limited-edition game called Scythe that everyone can play with. To our knowledge, Scythe isn’t usually available for play in most board games cafe. Instead, they are available for sale only due to the limited number of stocks produced. When it comes to food, GxG has a lot of choices – from soups to pizzas to all-day breakfast meals. Here are some grubs we’ve already tried:

Truffle Mushroom Soup (P170) – fragrant soup made with sauteed mushrooms in truffle and cream. The truffle flavor is very evident in this dish which is a plus for us, truffle lovers. We’re satisfied and will order this again soon.

GxG Fries (P270) – the owners’ love for Japanese food and fried made this dish into reality. Imagine the well-loved okonomiyaki and fries is its base. The bonito flakes and their special sauce made it worthwhile. This is one of our favorites here.

Calamari (P275) – deep-fried chopped giant salt and pepper squid served with bagoong aioli and vinegar. The squid is firm and chewy and not rubbery, so we guess it was cooked perfectly as how a calamari should be. For the sauce, the creamy garlic mayo was mixed with bagoong for a flavorful kick.

Longanisa All-Day Breakfast (P290) – this all-day breakfast longanisa meal just hit the right spot. No need for any other condiments here at this sausage alone is very tasty already. This is served with two sunny side up eggs, garlic rice, buttered veggies, and a glass of iced tea.

Sweet Basi Adobo Glazed Chicken (P340) – sous vide quarter leg glazed in special adobo sauce with basi, a filipino fermented alcoholic drink made out of sugarcane, giving the chicken the alcoholic twist to up the bold glaze. The glazed chicken is plated together with a cup of garlic rice, buttered veggies, and mango slices.

GxG Pasta (P250) – three of the most popular Filipino foods all in one pasta dish – salted egg, smoked fish, and spaghetti. While we are used to having salted egg and smoked fish with our fried rice, mixing it in spaghetti isn’t a bad idea. This one matches the flavor profile of a Filipino dish.

Truffle Pasta (P290) – creamy truffle sauce on spaghetti pasta, served with two slices of bread. We were looking for a more bolder taste of the truffle but nonetheless still enjoyed it. We got to enjoy the bacon strips as well, not bacon bits, but strips, which is a good plus for us.

GxG Pizza (P260) – if you’re willing enough to step out of the comfort zone and order a pizza flavor other than those pepperoni and cheese, this GxG is for you. This pizza arrived with vinegar which made us think that it might be for the longanisa, but no, it really is for this one! The pizza is topped with dilis, thinly sliced eggplants, red onions, tomatoes, bagoong, and ripe mango, all sealed in by Mozzarella, cheddar, and Gruyere cheese. Ready to dip it into the vinegar sauce? We are!

Durian Espresso Ice Cream (P150) – quite hesistant at having this, we’re convinced from comments that it doesn’t tasste like durian but more of a coffee flavor. This creamy coffee ice cream has a minimal twist of durian sans the popular odoriferous smell. The scoop is drizzled with chocolate sauce served with a generous amount of crushed grahams and polvoron.

GxG also has quite a selection of drinks. We’ve tried their Chocolate Frappe (P140), Dark Hazelnut Frappe (P160), and Cafe Mocha (P140) . We’ve also tried their Lemonade and Iced. We must say, the Cafe Mocha stood out, and their Iced Tea is a must-order too!

At this point, you may be already wondering if there’s a specific worth of orders needed in order to play their board games. Yes, there is! Only a minimum of one order per person or P250 consumable is required. Imagine only paying around of P500 for two – food, drinks, and fun included!

Value for money: Worth it!

I visited Grid X Griddle last sunday and I am surprised because of the ambiance! It's so cozy. Honestly, I came just to play games but I'm shock because their food is so good! I love their calamari and truffle pasta! Also, it's my first time to ate a pizza with vinegar and it's so delicious! I am surprised because it's very unique, they called GXG Pizza. They served well, staff are accomodating and I really had fun! I'll invite my friends to go here some other time just to EAT and PLAY!

I ordered delivery and the food arrived on time, well packaged and still hot. But boy was my eyes bigger than my stomach. I had the GXG4 Platter which came with two perfectly grilled sausages and french fries. I would have been satisfied with just one sausage, on a bun with mustard and grilled onions. These sausages were large, tasty, and (as mentioned) perfectly grilled.  The french fries, unfortunately, were not up to the standard set by the sausages as they were limp, tasteless and nothing to write home about. I also ordered the onion soup and that arrived piping hot, but sadly was not one of GXG's better menu options due to the lack of a deeply flavored broth and the sparse amount of onions. Overall, I will be ordering from GXG again, but I'll be careful to select a dish that includes only one sausage.

Pretty good fare for a boardgame cafe.

The place is cozy enough and well-lit, with pretty decent food choices. Their game selection is available online, which is nice for people who are looking for a particular game, or want to look things up before they try going in.

There wasn't any "game master" or anyone who would approach as you came in, so the games can be largely a learn-on-your-own endeavor, but I personally don't find this a problem. It's part of the joy of discovering a new game! (And there's always YouTube and/or the manual)

Excellent. Tried the Tenderloin Steak that melts in your mouth. Can't stop eating so tried others like their Pizza. and the Fries. Those can be lined with the other Fries and Pizza I have tried even in the US if not better because of the added twist. Pizza dip in vinegar, try it and decide for yourself. Their Pasta is excellent too and now with the draft beer, heavenly.

Fun times are guaranteed in this lounge. They charge Php250.00 per person, consummable with drinks and food, for the unlimited use of board games. The food is just okay (the GxG Fries stood out though). The board games are the real reason why it deserves a good rating.

Usually I don't expect much on the dining experience in board game cafes but I was surprised with the food here at Grid X Griddle because they were all good, or at least the ones that we ordered. This is a great place for both food and fun as they also offer a wide range of board games. 😊

1️⃣ AMBIENCE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- I like how moder the interiors are. There is this big magnetic scrabble board at the 2nd floor where you can actually place your name there or play around witb words. There is wifi and aircon. Everything was perfect! Very comfortable! There is like a book shelf of games! 😍

2️⃣SERVICE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- our server was really friendly and accommodating! He was also our game master and would play with us if requested! A very remarkable person! 😊

3️⃣FOOD ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

❇️Truffle Pasta:
It was rich and creamy. The bacon gave extra awesomeness to it! This is my favorite by far! 😍

A pleasntly surprising gastronomic experience. The innovative Bagoong flavored pizza and salted egg pasta dish was great and puts emphasis on the gourmet meals offered by game-themed resto.

Visited this place after work to play board games with my officemates. We were seated on the second floor, the place was nicely decorated and very comfy, perfect for taking pictures as they have this huge scrabble board you can use as background.

I was not expecting much of the food since this is a board game cafe but I was taken by surprise. I forgot what each dish was called but I will try my best. The fries was served first, it had fish flakes on top and drizzled with sauce that kind of tastes like the sauce used for takoyaki, everyone loved it. The Chicken Alfredo and Truffle Pasta are good and they are very aromatic. We also ordered Chicken Fingers that went so well with its honey mustard sauce. The G x G Pizza is a hit! It tasted like a filipino pizza with its fish toppings and mango, it even came with vinegar as sauce, it’s good!

I loved everything about this place, from the ambiance, the food, the service and its variety of board games (the servers will patiently explain how each game is played). Will recommend this place to my other friends and I will surely come back.

Grid X Griddle's main attraction is the range of board games it has - for all ages. Can be quite addicting.

Staff is well versed with the games and patiently explain the games to us.

Food and beverages are quite ok. We tried Alfredo Pasta, Negra Pasta, soup and Margarita pizza. All were ok.

Hope this concept is a success because, from our own experience, you get carried away with the games and forget to order!
