Generous serving size. Tasty without being too salty which I find in most Cantonese restos. The flavor is on point. My favorite would be the Spicy Wagyu Noodles. Noodles were firm and the spicy-ness level is just right. I recommend this if you’re looking for an affordable but filling and tasty meal.
A pleasant 4 for this Hong Kong Roast Duck place. The plating was just as how I remembered this dish being served in HK: non-assuming and deceitfully sparing in serving. But don't judge 'til you get a bite! Their D1: HK Roast Duck Rice was authentically Hong Kong. The duck was tender and has that nice fatty flavor, although I didn't like how the bones were persistently clinging to the meat. It's paired with a tangy sauce that tempers the fatty character of the duck and seems unique to this place. Got myself their Hong Kong Milk Tea as well, and loved how creamy it was.
ordered char siu rice and wagyu beef noodles that tasted great and served in decent serving size. Their milk tea was okayish which you expect from the price range
Service was good, it was easy to approach or call out for any requests. We weren’t served with soup at first so we asked if it was included in the orders since we saw on the other tables. Staff were very nice and gave us soup immediately.
Food was good but the Soy Chicken looks more like White Chicken with a sauce made up of soy sauce and sugar. Not what we were expecting where soy chicken usually is not saucy but the chicken itself was cooked in soy. But it was good though not that traditional.
Siomai was ok but not the best I had. A bit bland without the soy sauce and chili.
One go-to Chinese cuisine among Filipinos would have to be Cantonese, which hailed from Hong Kong— a country so near us that it's often a vacation site for the holidays. Known as a hotspot for restaurants or even hole-in-the-wall eateries, Hong Kong prides itself for their roasted meats.
And if you're craving these meaty dishes, Tai Koo Hong Kong Roast is one place you can check out! Aptly named after a city (and MTR) station in the Hong Kong Island, this restaurant specializes in serving single-serving roasts with your choice of dry noodles, noodle soup, or the classic: rice.
Tai Koo's new and improved Char Siu now features leaner meat that still comes with the same savory taste. And don't you worry— it's still just as tender and just as flavorful. I do miss though the occasional soft, fatty bits you commonly find in meat (I'm talking about a 80% meat to 20% fat ratio), but since the faction of fatty vs lean is divided, maybe what Tai Koo can do is offer both and just let people choose based on what they want.
You can enjoy it with other roast meats including Roasted Pork (aka Lechon Macau), Roasted Duck, White Chicken and Soya Chicken, along with old-time dimsum favorites like Pork Siomai, Shrimp Hakkaw, Chicken feet and fried Gyoza dumplings.
And if you want to get your daily dose of greens, you can choose from garlicky Broccoli, Bok Choy or a popular Hong Kong favorite— the Gai Lan. Known as Chinese Kale, this vegetable has a thick and fleshy stem, and a mellow but slightly bittersweet flavor.
While you're at it, treat yourself to a glass of Hong Kong Milk Tea. The taste of tea is stronger versus the Taiwanese variants, and it is slightly less creamy like the Singaporean ones. Not too sweet, light and refreshing. A good accompaniment to any meal.
Thanks for having me!
Well, there's just not much to say but ang sarap!
The best HK Roast Rice toppings. Lechon Belly is perfectly crispy and Roast Duck is flavorful hanggang buto. They've improved a lot since I tried them in McKinley branch years ago.
The husband and I still have a lot to try next time especially the Charsiu dishes they have recently promoted. 👍
At first, I'm not a fan of Char Siu. I usually eat the Roast Pork Belly and Wagyu Beef, or maybe, the Roast Pork Belly's taste marked my taste buds more than the Char Siu. Last two weeks, Tai Koo HK Roast launched the new and improved Char Siu. It was leaner than the usual. I also noticed that it was glazed more with that sweet sauce making it more flavorful. I agree, it was flavorful than before. Will try the Char Siu again the next time. I must also say that I love the bacon-wrapped siomai. It was filling and tasty even without soy sauce and calamansi. I recommend the service here. Staff were very attentive.
i love @taikooph ‘s char siu and it’ll be a love-er feeling as they introduce a better and tastier version na talagang mapapatus ko un extra rice kahit ma-delay un diet ko.
i noticed that their take on the #CharSiu is much leaner of w/c i kinda missed that lil slice of buttery fat to magically add contrast to the meat. don’t get me wrong it tastes good, but it wouldve have more umph and gleam had the fat been present.
on the brighter side, at least the health conscious can rejoice ‘coz this will really cater to their preference w/ compromising taste and quality
.
personally, i enjoyed the char siu dried hk noodles, the beef wagyu, the buchiii and yes i had extra rice - dont judge 🤤 try their newest char siu and lemme know what y’all think.
With travelling, what's always good is that you get to experience the local cuisine of a specific place; and Hong Kong has a rich cuisine that can't be missed. You must agree with me that Chinese or Hong Kong food is one of the most popular and delicious dishes in the world. I bet most, if not all, countries have their little China town where you can get these tasty grubs.
Missing Hongkong roasts?
No need to fly to that shopping and foodie paradise that is close to Pinoy hearts to satisfy that craving.
Tai Koo at the Podium Mall serves succulent pork , beef and chicken slices that are scrumptious yet very affordable. Pair it with either rice or noodles and you are all set...
I usually order take-out since my officemates prefer eating in the pantry for more privacy (Tai Koo’s eating area is open). They have good roast duck, however, they are not consistent with the amount of duck that they include in the solo order.
Please read the full review from the link below. Thanks!
Excerpt: The char siu pork and soy chicken were tender and both tasted good. The dumpling was a little dry. The soy egg and buchi were just ok. The sauce was sweet and went well with the other items. The rating is mostly for the sauce, pork and chicken.
Taste = 4/5

My officemates favorite place to dine at Podium. Our favorite is their Char sui Pork and Wanton noodle soup. Serving is so big that we always share. We also love their TK Bao bites (mini asado siopao). 3 pcs per order.,
There something about rice toppings that appeals to me (and to a hundred million Filipinos). Practical, you can say. And most of all, matipid.
We were treated to an afternoon of rice meals with different meats: Wagyu, White Chicken, Roasted Pork, Soy Chicken and of course, Roasted Duck. These meals come with steamed rice, chinese sausages, dumplings and buchi (see? tipid!)
There's also Dimsum Platter with hakaw, bacon siomai, pork and shrimp siomai and fried gyoza dumpling.
And there's this Milk Tea, not too sweet, just right. One word of caution though: Don't let it sit on the table too long.
Tai Koo brings the novelty and flavor of HK street food to Manila. It gives diners a taste of the Street Cuisine of The Pearl River Delta City without the hassle of checkin counter. The best part of it all is that their Podium branch serves it the same way Hk hawker food is served, quick and easy, perfect if you’re just limited to a 60 minute break. If you find the time to squeeze a trip to Tai Koo In your 60 minute mandatory, I recommend you try the. Following.
Rice Toppings: This comes with fried dimsum, buchi sausage and bock choy (depending on the plate). I personally liked their roasted pork and wagyu bowl variations. The roasted pork was roasted to a crisp (skin) while still maintaining the moist melt in your mouth consistency of the meat and the fat with that smoky kick you’d expect for all things roasted. What else can I say about Wagyu, it’s Wagyu, you probably get my drift.
There was one bowl that almost made it but didn’t quite and it was the white chicken bowl which I felt was a tad bit too salty (too much 5 spice). Overall for the serving size and price it’s well worth it.
I first knew about Tai Koo when they opened at McKinley Hill, Taguig a few years back when I used to work there. It was interesting how they display their roasted ducks in the window. It looked very appetizing and I'm sure anyone who passes by will want to grab some. Luckily, Tai Koo specializes in serving quality lunch treats. One order is a plate-full of delicious treats.
I had the chance to try a few of their delicious rice toppings which all came with siomai, buchi, and sausage. All you have to pick is your main meat! Which can be Wagyu, White Chicken, Roasted Pork, Soy Chicken, and more.
My absolute favorite was the Wagyu because I am just a sucker for beef. It wasn't like your ordinary wagyu which is interesting because it felt like it had its own Chinese-oriental twist into it. It's a bit different but it's still good.
I also really liked the Roasted Pork rice topping. You can't go wrong with roasted pork meals, really. It's safe and delicious.
I also love that you have the option to choose MILK TEA as your drink. No need to buy expensive milk teas anywhere else because this one is already delicious and it's enough to satisfy your cravings. The best part (for me atleast) is there are no pearls. Just pure milk tea goodness.
If you feel like eating good Chinese food, especially ones that would make you feel like you're in HongKong, this is the place for you.

If you miss HK, this is a good place to eat. Their char siu pork and roasted duck are delish, and the price range is from 178 to more than 200. The nai cha is so-so, but I like their hakaw. The water here is self service.
Tai Koo HK Roast is located in a quiet corner at the 5th floor of The Podium in Ortigas Center. The mall has reinvented itself as a major foodie hub and we found ourselves wanting to try a place that isn’t overly-hyped nor too expensive for a work day lunch. This is how we found ourselves at TAI KOO HK ROAST.
So happy to find Tai Koo here in Ortigas. Best food for me is White Chicken for those who are missing thailand’s famous hainanese chicken! Food was good as always but I think they lessened the serve of bokchoy. The place was not that good because it’s an open area
I ordered the Tai Koo plate because I wanted to try everything - and it didn’t disappoint. The pork skin was crunchy and the chicken was tender. I won’t have second thoughts going back.
Glad that they have Tai Koo HK Roast here in the Podium. In the floor its in, it’s actually the OST affordable place to eat. We recommend ordering the Roast Duck on the stir fry noodles, and the Lechon Macau. Staff is kind and its a simple no frills dining experience.
My friend saw this in Podium and convinced me to give it a try. I ordered the Char siu pork rice which was very flavorful. It had the just right sweetness which perfectly blends well with the pork. It’s priced just right and I would love to come back and try a different dish from their menu.
Tai Koo HK Roast is one of the newbies in Podium and it’s always packed so it made me intrigued.
When we dined here, I got an order of their Char Siu Pork Rice (Php 168). It was sweeter and less savory than other char siu pork I’ve tasted before. Also got Broccoli Flower with Oyster Sauce and Garlic and HK Cold Milk Tea. The broccoli had little to no garlicky taste which was still okay because it was a good palate cleanser. The milk tea was delicious, sweet and creamy.
My girlfriend and I had an early lunch here one Saturday.
We ordered the roast pork and the Char Siu. The roast pork’s skin was crispy and the meat was tender. The Char Siu was sweet and savory. Make sure to ask for ginger sauce to go with your meal to add an extra kick of flavor.
Tai Koo’s the perfect place to go for a quick taste of Hong Kong at an affordable price.
Another Chinese restaurant at the 5th level of The Podium Mall. Tai Koo HK Roast offers famous roasted meats like the duck, char siu and pork belly. I was able to try a portion of each of the following meats:
🦆Roast Duck - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
🦆Roast Char Siu - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
🦆Roast Pork Belly - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
All the roast meats was served flavorful and tasty. The meats were crispy outside and juicy inside. If I will to choose one, I’ll go for the Pork Belly.
#ilovetoeatph 😃❤️
Tai Koo HK Roast is a restaurant where you can get rice meals at a very reasonable price. We ordered their lunch combos as well as the duck rice (because there's no combo for this). They have dimsum, as well, and a rather interesting one~ the bacon wrapped siomai, which I really love. Definitely a must try. I also like that they gave me a good part of the duck ~ the one without bones. I'm super happy with this, the only thing missing is the plum sauce. They have hoisin but the experience is the same. Portions are reasonably sized too, definitely a place to go to if you're craving for cheap authentic roasting in the area. Perfect for your late night cravings since this restaurant is open 24/7!
We ordered the ff:
Roast Pork Belly Rice- Ok but needs hoisin dipping sauce to bring out the taste
Hong Kong Roast Duck Rice- 1 word: Bland; even with the dipping sauce.
Brocolli Flowers w/ Oyster Sauce & Garlic- Yum. Fresh and affordable at P98.

The newest mall in Ortigas, Podium brings us even more dining options in an already competitive location. I've been going back and forth here since I live near, and I have tried quite a number of food establishments.
One of the recent ones was Tai Koo Hong Kong Roast, a stop for Chinese cuisine on a budget. They have a short list menu of marinated meats, dimsum, noodles and vegetables.
I enjoyed what I had, Steamed Prawn Wonton, Brocolli with Oyster Sauce and a tasty rice topping of Char Siu Pork Rice. My friends who accompanied me shared a bowl of delicious Soy Chicken Rice and Fried Prawn Wonton. Not many sauces needed here to make it even better.
Have you been to the Podium? I love its sophisticated interior, spacing, and choices thus far.
My go-to quick meal at The Podium. Their roast chicken never fails to satisfy. I always get the dry noodles. The egg noodles are bouncy, and with the sauce and a touch of ginger, makes for quite a bite.
This place serves what I call functional duck and rice. It's a decent facsimile of Cantonese style street food but it still doesn't quite check all the boxes when it comes to authenticity. I guess what it lacks are the hong kong street seller techniques that makes peking style duck really flavorful such as crispy skin and juicy tenderness from rendered fat.
You can't expect all that in a casual sitdown chain like this. However the food here is still good for the price.
We ordered duck with rice as well as a wonton, duck, and noodle dish. Both came with a reasonable sized portion of duck. The table also had chili oil and all the usual things you would expect to find in a HK style eatery.
The wait staff definitely need to clean the tables more. This is the only place I saw with flies buzzing around the greasy tables. That's pretty out of place in an up market mall like Podium.
Ayyy super sarap the dimsum and tossed noodles, ung serving is good for two na very affordable din the prices.Staffs are really nice.Bacon Siomai,Hakaw and Roast Pork Belly FTW.
Twice in Two weeks! Experienced the goodness of Tai Koo HK Roast. Their branch in Podium is located at the 5th Floor, situated at an open area. Just fall in line, choose and pay and wait for your order, as simple as that. The place has limited seats especially at Lunch time. We are a group of 8 yesterday, and lucky to reserve seats at quarter before 12 noon.
Tai Koo has a variety of simple Chinese dishes. You can choose :Dimsum, Rice Toppings, Veggies and Noodles.
For my two visits, i had the same orders:
⭐️Roast Pork Belly and Wonton with Tossed Noodles (P188) -FTW! Its flavorful! You might think that the noodle looks bland. And yes, big serving! Roast pork belly perfectly cooked. Thw wonton also is great esp with thwir chilli sauce.
⭐️hakaw (P4 pcs for 88)- it has shrimp so I love it! But the wrapper for me is quite oily and just not the usual that I normally have, which is quite sticky.
Verdict: comfort food at affordable price. Would definitely go back
Good food. The price is fair for the taste and servings. I loved their bacon siomai and their noodles are cooked just right. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.
Tuesday lunchtime dropped by at the newly built wing of Podium.
Craving for something roasted , something Cantonese hopefully authentic .Saw this roasted meat joint at the top floor of the mall.Saw duck item on the menu a fascination, my kryptonite.☺️ Reminiscent of my months of stay in Hong Kong.
Ordered roasted duck rice toppings, charsiu pork toppings and steamed kailan veggies with garlic.
The roasted duck doesn't wowed me,the skin was not crispy nor that succulent. However the pork roast was unexpectedly very good.Kailan veggies was pleasant too.
Overall it's ok,and the price tag was very reasonable.Tho over crowded during lunchtime having a roast duck meal for me is still a charm will come back for the crispy roasted pork.
