Ikkoryu is actually my first ramen experience and I kept coming back - one of my favorite ramen joints in the metro. I must admit that I tried other ramen shops and Ikkoryu is one of my top 5 recommendation to family and friends. I would normally drop by here on a weekly basis.
I never really dig ramen, but my sons wanted it so we went. I did try before other ramens, but didn't like the weird taste of the soup and to my surprise I did like this. We ordered too potato croquettes and the karrage and the chips. All in all everything is great
Working near the mall means you’ve tried most of the places there. Ikkoryu’s probably one I’d go to eat to get a treat for myself. Food’s pretty good and server’s are really attentive (especially during lunch break). I really like their gyoza - good side order to any of their ramen (personal preference would be black garlic and tantanmen). Service time is a little slow though.
Ikkoryu Fukuoka specializes in tonkotsu ramen from Ramagoya Ramen in Japan which has been around since the '70s. Ramen was the Japanese adaptation of mee noodles from China. Today, I was looking for something spicy so I ordered their Tantan Tonkotsu (P380) which is their spiciest offering according to my server. She suggested I have tamago with it, so I obliged. Tantan is the Japanese version of the spicy Sichuan Dan dan noodles. The Japanese version normally incorporates Japanese rayu chili oil, soy milk and sesame paste in the mix. This particular rendition of Ikkoryu had a "ball" of ground beef immersed in the chili mixture.
In terms of flavor, Ikkoryu is subtle and not robust. In fact, I had to do a double take on my sips to verify if it was really spicy...well, it was not. You know the heat is there but just at the periphery. It's not the type that will make you cry "uncle" or ask for a glass of ice water or milk.
It was a good bowl, nonetheless. My server was right, having the extra tamago lifts it up some more as the velvety texture of the eggs adds greater balance.
Ajitama Tonkatsu and Gyoza to satisfy my Japanese food cravings! I usually have my noodles "soft". For this visit, I find it funny that the three of us ordered the same type of ramen. Oh well, we loved it so I guess that's all that really mattered.
When I went here, I ordered ramen and karaage. To be fair, this place is quite too pricey for its quality, but it's still tasty nonetheless. There are still better ramen places though. :)
I like their ramen flavorful but there's something to improve in their soup maybe i want mine thicker a little bit ..but kudos to staff verry friendly and approachable
My cousin who lives in the Ortigas area frequents Shangri-la mall, and she took us here multiple times because she knows I love Japanese food, and ramen is no exception.
Just recently, I introduced this restaurant to my boyfriend and he ordered the yuzu tama ramen, while I tried the aburi chashuu ramen. We also had an order of gyoza.
The broth for my aburi chashuu was a bit bland, however it made the aburi chashuu stand out. I also love how they served my noodles the way I want it: hard. Firm, starchy, and chewy. The gyoza complimented our ramen very well.
Yuzu tama had that light spicy kick, perfect on a rainy evening. We hope to try more ramen variants soon.
Plus, they offer complimentary Japanese tea served cold or hot.
Ikkoryu's gyoza will always be one of the best for me. Shangri-la branch, in particular, doesn't skimp on the meat. I tried gyoza in other ramen places where each piece is just small. 😢
On to their ramen, I tried the Aburi Chashu during my last visit. It was good but that piece of meat was just thin so it felt bitin. I'd still put my all-time favorite Black Garlic Tonkotsu as their best one for me.
I've been suffering from a bad case of Tokyo-withdrawal syndrome!
After eating my way through the Japanese capital, I had to have my ramen fix. So I ended up this ramen place. We had Ajitama Tonkotso and Yuzu Tama Tonkotso. Both had flavorful broth, nice slice of pork, eggs and very good "hard" noodles. Fortunately, this time their broth piping HOT! Just the way I like it.
The gyoza was also good and perfectly pairs up with the ramen.
The service was very good and fast. They had free iced tea (the brewed ones without sugar) which I liked very much. We just had to call their attention for refill on the drinks.
I guess it’s been a long time since I had a decent bowl of ramen. Ordered my usual fave here, Ajitama Tonkotsu. This bowl can get you really full especially with the egg, so you can opt for the basic tonkotsu if you get full fast. Rich broth that doesn’t have to be seasoned, egg and chashu pork are just right. We somehow appreciate that it was not crowded when we went here so the service is fast and the ambiance is quiet and relaxing.
I ordered their special Ajitama Tonkotsu Ramen. Comes in a lovely , aromatic pork broth. With chashu pork slice and ajitama half boiled egg marinated in soy sauce. Pretty good ramen with normal noodles that I chose ( you can get it done hard or soft too). Best thing I liked about this is the taste of the broth.
Ajitama Tonkotsu Ramen is my all time favorite!
The staff were nice and friendly when I dined. I also loved their salted caramel ice cream! Highly recommended!
They have ongoing promo at metrodeal which i availed so i got discount especially if you are dining in big groups.
One of my go-to ramen restaurants. I’ve tried a lot of ramen houses and this is in my top 3 ❤️ been here lots of times and every time I leave the place,My pants somehow shrinks 😂 love the broth, very tasty. Their karaage and gyoza are best for side dishes. Place is fine, servers are nice.
Established since 1970,this Japanese resto provided soul food for Pinoys. What I like about their ramen is its creamy broth and hearty flavor. The noodles are perfectly chewy and bouncy. The gyoza that we ordered was cooked well and had a juicy insides. The ambiance will give you a relaxing feeling. The place is decorated with wooden panels. If you are sick or feeling down lately, a bowl of a good ramen will heal and put you in a good spirit. 😀

I tasted my first ever ramen here and for a ramen virgin, i was not disappointed.
Then I fell in love with ramen lol =)
Food: We ordered the original tonkotsu ramen, it was creamy and savory.
Serving: big bowl enough for 2
Price: reasonable
Ambiance: Typical setting, clean
Staff: friendly and accomodating

My friend and I went here for a quick ramen fix. The place wasn't crowded and staff were all attentive. The Tonkotsu and Ebi ramen was fine, noodles (hard) were chewy and the broth rich. Only downside is that my Ebi ramen was a tad too salty, I don't know if it has anything to do with it being in a shrimp broth or it was just made salty. I wish they had bigger servings of soup and noodles. I'll try my luck next time.
I would have given this branch a 5 star if the temperature was good enough. Staff are not that friendly. The ramen is good. Not too pricy but not really the taste I am looking for. But I will give this a 4 because of food presentation. **Ok, edit. It is now on 5 stars because all the negative things mentioned above improved** KUDOS

I've tried Ikkoryu Fukuoka a number of times before, and in most instances, I was pleased with my experience. In my most recent visit, however, I noticed some changes which prompted me to give them a 4.0 score.
In terms of food, I always order their ebi tonkotsu because I love the flavor that the prawn brings. I noticed, however, that the prawn was smaller (still tasty, though), the noodles were fewer, and the broth was a lot less than what I am used to. I also ordered their chicken karaage to go with my ramen, and suffice to say, I was disappointed, too. It was just oily and bland - something that I don't expect from Ikkoryu Fukuoka. Gyoza was so-so.
Service is good, as always, but I sincerely hope they can improve on their food offering and serving.
I've tasted different ramens in the metro and I ddefinitely have my go-to places when craving for its comforting taste.
It's my first time to eat here and I tried their Tantan Tonkotsu. I must say that it did not disappoint. Like I said, I've had numerous bowls of ramen and for me this is one of the more decent ones I've tried.
Giving it a 4/5. Great flavor, texture, and the noodles were ok as well. It was a great overall experience and would definitely come back.

Ramen ❤️! We had the Spicy Tobanjan Tonkotsu (Php 380), Tan Tan Tonkotsu (Php 380), Karaage (Php 180) and Fresh Buko Juice (Php 80 each). We also added an aji tama (Php 50 each). Loved the karaage - it was super tender and delicious! I liked the Tobanjan Tonkotsu broth more than the Tan Tan - both were not too spicy but the tobanjan broth had a good balance of spices. Service was quite prompt and the place was pretty crowded so we had to sit close to the entrance which is a bit crammed. But otherwise, great food - don’t forget to get an aji tama with your ramen :)
I love Ramen and I've been searching for THE ONE place to get great Ramen. First off, the place needs to have their a/c looked at. It was a little warm when we arrived for dinner and the place wasn't even filled with people. However, the service was pretty good. Servers were attentive and polite.
My Ebi Tonkotsu, however, left a lot to be desired. It did not do justice to its description on the menu. I took a spoonful of my friend's Yakimeshi. At least, that was good.
Have you tried the lunch set? I always order the one with fried chicken. Their gyozas are great too! One my favorite ramen place! One of my favorite resto too at Shangrila Mall! 👌

Wide variety of Japanese ramen and basic dishes. Modern, streamlined and clean ambience. Efficient and attentive staff. good for business meetings.
Always love coming back because of the ambiance..and if you are on a budget, their meal packages are more than enough to satisfy your tummy.. 😁 (the spicy ramen is always my favorite)
Had my ramen cravings fixed at Shang. My friend invited me for dinner and as usual, we were undecided freaks. Luckily, we came across this restaurant.
Upon entering, the staff will greet you - but this one, it's different every one greets you, as in, even the chefs greet you from where they are. So when they're already shouting in chorus, I already know new customers are coming in.
We asked for the best seller and offered that ramen which you can browse in my photos. The ramen is so good. It's not spicy, so just put chili oil and it's perfect. The pork that comes with it is so soft, tender, and flavourful. We also ordered the karage, which I don't personally like. In addition, that fried rice which you can just eat by itself is perfect. Japanese fried rice!!! Super love it. Food is for sharing so the price is for sharing as well.
It's just a walking distance from our office. Also, we've read hefty good reviews about it, so we tried dining in. All I can say is: they served us the best ramen in town! A bit pricey but we will definitely come back to try other variants.

My boyfriend and I was looking for a new place to try. We passed by
This place and he was craving for some ramen, so we decided to eat here. We ordered the black garlic tonkotsu with yakimeshi and the miso tonkotsu with karaage. I must say the food was good, and flavorful. But unfortunately, it wasn't the best. The soup base is a little too salty for me. Other than that, it was good.
Ikkoryu isn't the best but it has pretty good ramen. We ordered their Ajitama Tonkotsu Ramen, their normal ramen, and their curry rice. I was hoping their curry had more meat but I can't complain. It's still delicious nonetheless. Their ramen is good with the chashu and the ajitama (egg) and tonkotsu. It's just that their soup base is actually quite salty. Ikkoryu is good because there's full of flavor but no complaints besides the saltiness. The place is lively and well designed and lit but a bit cramped. No complaints though in returning here for their ramen!
I ordered the aburi chashu tonkatsu while the bee ordered ajitama tonkotsu. The only difference is the orher is fried while the other is grilled.
At first taste, the noodle soup was bland. Had to put in a lot of their spicy sesame oil and some pepper to taste better.
Their fried chicken though was yummy. Good recommendation from the waiter.
Service suffers when there's too many customers.
Ordered ramen and chicken karage. The ramen's soup is very creamy and delicious. Noodle is good too. I was asked for noodle softness, and I just opted for normal. I'll try other textures as well next time. The chicken on the other hand is crispy and delicious, though a bit saltier.
Ambiance and service are very good. The price is reasonable enough. Overall an excellent dining experience and I will come back here in the future.
It was okay there. I recommend this place to those ramen chasers in the house.
There servers are very nice and accommodating.
They may answer all of your questions and would give you options if you have requests.
That is a good customer service experience.
The ramen was amazing. I forgot al that I've order for it was already months. I forgot to do this thing. Been very busy. But these are all I have ordered that day because a friends came and we ordered another ramen. Please, try this rather than those very famous ramen houses that give you same tastes in every meal. Haha kidding.
One lunch afternoon, Hungry but didn't know where and what to eat my friend and I brought our feet to Ikkoryu. My first time to try it btw. Very much satisfied with it's comforting ramen. The soup is so creamy and the he spice is just right.
Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen is one of the ramen places I prefer due to its simplicity and balance. It is one of the brands that has been brought here together with the ramen wagon in the Philippinea. Ikkoryu is always beside its sister company, Kimukatsu.
We had our snack here and tried their Ajitama Tonkotsu and Tantan Tonkotsu.
To give a brief background, tonkotsu broth is made from simmering of chicken, pork bones, vegetables, and seaweeds for long hours, minimum of atleast 8 hours that produces a milky, rich, umami base.
My mom got the Ajitama (soft boiled egg) Tonkotsu with hard noodles. The pork was soft and flavorful that needs less chewing due to its tenderness. The broth was milky, flavor rich, umami finish. It's not as salty as some would serve it.
Mine was Tantan (spicy peanut) Tonkotsu with hard noodles as well. I like how their spicy, nutty broth isn't too thick and rich. It has a perfect balance of nutty, spicy, salty, and umami flavors. It was served with some ground pork, bamboo shoots, and seaweeds.
Ikkoryu Fukuoka mastered the balance in a Tonkotsu broth. It's hard to achieve it considering the time and numerous ingredients to build a perfect base.

yes! Another Ramen review. I ordered ajitama tonkotsu!:) a little bit salty but it was also delicious, i loved the eggs!:) hahaha.. also the gyoza was a little crunchy but its also delicious!:)
A few weeks ago, we went at Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen at Shang-La Plaza for a quick dinner.
I've already tried lots of ramen before but honestly, I'm not a big fan of ramen (since ramen makes my stomach easily full).
So I was with a friend who is a ramen lover and we agreed to try this restaurant.
Entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the staffs. Place is a bit small and packed given that we came here during a weekend night. No worries since there were still few seats available.
Menu was handed to us upon seating. They offer lots if different ramen flavors and it was overwhelming. Haha I mean, I dunno what ramen to choose really.
But in the end, I ordered their Vegi Tama Cheese Tonkotsu Ramen (Php400) which includes paprika, pumpkin, carrots, potato and corn. It says that it is perfectly blended into a heart-healthy vegetable cream, highlighted with parmesan cheese and roast pork bits over Ikkoryu's authentic tonkotsu ramen.
Since I'm a big lover of cheese, I did liked this cheesy ramen that I ordered. It was very creamy, cheesy and flavorful. As usual, the servings were huge enough for me that I wasn't even able to finish all of it. :(
I forgot what my friend ordered but according to her, her ramen was good and tastes like the one she eats in Japan. So thumbs up for that :)
We also ordered Gyoza (Php150 for 6pcs) and I find it average.
Overall, when it comes to flavor and servings so far, they're the best ramen restaurant I went to. Was actually a bit full when I came here so I wasn't able to finish my meal. Wanna come back again here soon :)

So far, this is the best ramen I've ever tasted in the Philippines. It is pricey but it is very worth it, because it gives you the feeling that the serving small, but, to be honest, you will be stuffed by the ramen in one bowl. I rank this restaurant as the #1 Ramen restaurants you should try in Manila.
I so love their new dish which is Tantan Tonkotsu. I was attracted to this ramen cause of it's spicyness. The spicy level of this is perfect! Hard noodles is the chef's recommendation when picking for what type of noodles. 👌 Their Chasu Tonkotsu is salty. 😭
This is one of my favorite ramen places in Metro Manila. First off, the price is reasonable enough for the quality and authenticity of the food. Next, the service time is quite fast (I think it's because they use the same broth for their ramen menu), and the ambiance makes it feel like it's a legit Japanese restaurant. I recommend the Aka Tonkotsu Ramen. :)
I don't claim to be an expert yet on Ramen, but their version really taste authentic. Certainly a cut above the rest I've tasted so far here in Manila, especially the Black Garlic.
Some unique observations:
- House tea is strong. Taste a bit like coffee.
- You will be asked to choose between soft, regular, and hard noodles.
Some warning: Place is a bit small and there are a lot of people lining up to get in. Although the waiters are courteous, expect some waiting time as they try to attend to several customers.
I will come back and recommend this to Ramen lovers.
What I really love about Ikkoryu Fukuoka is their service. Every staff is very courteous and at the same time they are smiling.
Also, I love that they have soft, normal, hard and very hard noodles. 'Coz I really want to choose the texture of my noodles. I cannot forget how savory the broth is.
Indeed, my money is not wasted at all.
As part of our usual Friday night out, I bought some discount vouchers so we can dine in here. We ordered 3 different ramens, and also a plate of gyoza. The ramens are great and ther each come in a big serving bowl. But the gyoza, unfortunately did not shine through. Overall, it was an excellent and fulfilling Japanese night out for us.
We are fond of eating Japanese food, but have never tried Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen. And yes, as mentioned before, I have been to Japan. Thus, when it comes to ramen, I have an idea what broth tastes authentic.
Truly, there can be all sorts of toppings and noodle variety, but the broth makes or breaks it. Good thing Ikkoryu didn't disappoint.
When I had quick lunch here, I had their Vegi Tama Cheese Tonkotsu (PhP 400) and Gyoza (PhP 150). For the ramen I tried, their broth is made richer with the combination of their vegetable cream and parmesan cheese. It was really delicious for me. I was also delighted that they served it with a ramen ladle as how it is with famous restaurants in Japan. It helps enjoy the broth while there are still noodles left in one’s ramen. As for their gyoza, well, it was oily for me that is why I ended up giving them a lesser rating than they deserve for the ramen. Overall, their food are priced well as it’s reasonable.

Just reasonable food, travel, and etc.

If Japanese food is a prayer, it's just appropriate to end it with a solemn rAmen.
Ikkoryu prides itself with their line of image-invocating ramen. Thier newest in line, the Tempura Ramen summons the memory of the sea. Ajitama Tonkotsu reveals a sunny morning Japan where the air is cold and the trees are shifting from one color to another. Ninniku Tonkotsu opened itself to be a beckoning dish. This dish had the power to render me silent and just lost in its magnificent taste. For a moment, I had no words. Except more.
Their spring rolls redefined. What a difference mushrooms can make. Its distinct flavor is almost ethereal. Each bite, when flavors begin to converge, it's a whole new horizon. I imagine skies with clouds unfurled and the day proffers a wonderful start. The Chicken Karage is nothing like any Karages I had in the past. The flavor waltzes in your tongue. And send the melodious taste right to your heart and perhaps, it might give you a new meaning to what love is.
On the other hand, their potato salad was cleverly served as if it were an ice cream. That's it. there's nothing poetic about this dish. It's just really a potato salad.
I love ramen and visit a lot of ramen shop in Manila. I heard this shop serves authentic tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen and tried their Takana tonkotsu ramen. It was really good and has no much difference with that in Japan. Price is a bit on a high side but it would not disappoint ramen lover.
One of few authentic ramen house in manila that serve good ramen.. Their crew are all accomodating.. been here twice with friends and we had a good ramen experience. They have a wide variety of ramen. You have to choose your ramen wisely though..
Went here with the family during the holidays. We tried the Ajitama Tonkotsu Ramen and the Chicken Karaage. Taste is just fine. Broth can be improved I guess (in comparison to other ramen I tasted).
Service is also okay. Though I wish there could be a guide in the menu so guests can identify which is spicy, salty, etc.
Very tasty broth, just the right amount of seasoning, no MSG high, two slices of grilled pork over hard noodles (not hard enough for me), yolk in soft-boiled egg had good texture. Wish they served it with more broth though. 12/27/2015, around 5pm
Lovin' the bamboo shoots in my ramen. :3
Super big servings (but really, that's how ramen should be) with flavor bombs for their broth. My parents didn't enjoy much because they weren't ramen fans. They're the type who want lots of different ulams to pair with rice. :))
As a ramen feind, I found the soup of their Tonkotsu ramen too rich. At first, it will overwhelm your tastebuds with that all-too-familar pork broth taste but unlike the broth that I'm used to, this one has an odd aftertaste. Maybe it's from the garlic or what, but it reminded me of eating shrimp paste. It's good, and I like ther ajitamago because the yolk is really creamy and sweet, unlike with just a plain soft-boiled egg that you'd get from other ramen places.
I wanted to have dinner at a different restaurant but my friend convinced me to try this one instead. There was a line when we got there but didn't take long for us to get a table. Not a fan of the interiors but I like how bright it is. I ordered Ajitama Tonkatsu and it did not disappoint. It was delicious, generous serving, excellent presentation, and did I mention delicious? This is the type of meal that completes a rainy day or any given day. I can't wait to try their other ramen flavors.
Dined here after watching a movie at the Eiga Said film festival. It was a good choice to continue our day of Japanese culture sort of experience. Ramen was tasty and it wasnt too salty or overwhelming. The host also patiently explained to us and described the noodle choices which was helpful since I am not really a big ramen eater. The place was also clean and lively. Might come back again.
Ikkoryu Fukuoka is one of my Top 5 picks when it comes to Ramen in the Metro. My choice is always Ajitama Tonkotsu with Chashu and soft-boiled egg. I like it either with gyoza or Edamame or Karaage. My food buddy/bestfriend on the other hand love the Black Garlic Tonkotsu! When we crave for rice, we always pick the Chashu Don. The place is cozy and nice with japanese wooden fences. Service is quite slow though. Had to follow up our orders.
This is the usual greeting you receive whenever you enter a Japanese restaurant. When hubby and I entered Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen located at the 5th level of Shangri-la Plaza East Wing the staff cheerfully greeted us in chorus. . This is our first time to dine at Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen so I asked her (geesh, no name plate! I wasn't able to get her name) for the bestseller. She suggested that I order Ajitama Tonkotsu.
This is my first time to dine at Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen and as the name suggests that this is a ramen house, I asked the wait staff for the bestseller. I was offered the Ajitama Tonkotsu, PhP380. Nothing extraordinary and a bit salty for my taste. Hubby ordered the Spicy Tobanjan Tonkotsu, PhP380 which I liked. You'd be asked for your noodle preference -- soft, normal and hard. We opted for the normal noodle which is chewy to the bite. I might try the soft noodles next time.
Prepare to spend PhP1,000 for two bowls of ramen and two sodas in can.
Ikkoryu Fukuoka is one of the first place where you could taste an Authentic Ramen. It has a Ramen bar where you could see a true blooded Nihonjin prepare your bowl. It is quite pricey but definitely money worth to have taste of Japan :) いただきました!
Upon entering Ikkoryu Fukuoka, tall wooden fences with Japanese calligraphy dotted by red chairs welcome everyone. That is, alongside with the staff’s loud “irrashaimase” (“welcome” in Japanese).
The interior exudes coziness and the staff are ready to suggest what best to eat. So as recommended, Ajitama Tonkatsu at Php 380 it is.
The ramen is topped with special half boiled egg fully marinated with special blended soy sauce base. Of course, there’s also the chashu, green onions, bamboo shoots, wood ear and dried seaweed.
The tonkotsu soup for me is rich and creamy, but very basic. My heart still roots for Kichitora’s PaitanRamen Zenbu no Se.
The noodle quality is okay. Chose it ‘hard’, as suggested too.
The chashu is thin and big enough. And the fatty portion, I’m quite satisfied. But the best chashu’s I’ve ever tasted was in Hokkaido Ramen Santouka.
Then the star of the ramen: ajitama or boiled eggs. Yummy! It’s so soft and runny in a good way. I enjoyed it. Truly, the cream of the crop.
For the salad, they recommended Tofu Salad at Php 160 and it’s good. What I love about it is the sweet something-like-chips on top. It added texture and a bit of flavor to the salad as there’s nothing to expect from a tofu. As always, Japanese dressing’s yummy.
Aside from the very proactive staff, their service is fast, too. Additional points for that.
Enjoy eating,

This ramen place in shang is good! However it is not comparable to that of wrong ramen or hokkaido santouka ramen. Well, this is prolly one of the usual ramen joints here. Nothing special!
Been eyeing to try this for few months already finally to taste one of the top rated ramen spots in the metro! The name of the place says it all, go for the ramen. We dive into this experience trying only their main servings.
We Got:
Black Garlic Tonkotsu - Meaty broth with flavor taste of black garlic oil.
Yuzu-Tama Tonkotsu - Mild spicy and creamy broth.
Ikkoryu Original Tonkotsu - Classic ramen with just the mild touch of creaminess.
Ajitama Tonkotsu - Strong broth taste with heavier creamy taste and texture.
**The ramen contents were near identical. I was both surprised and a bit disappointed where it felt the ramen were a bit identical other than the extra flavor added on the broth.
Pros:
Serving is quite big - Justifies the price
Chashu slices were lean, tasty, soft and spot on good!
Half boiled egg was great, has a meaty salty taste blended well with the egg flavor.
Very quick service
Iced Black Tea (Unsweetened) was refreshing and a good palette cleanser at the same time.
Cons:
Place is crowded and noisy
Consistent build in the ramen of its contents (Chashu slices, noodle, mushroom, seaweeds). Very little variation from each ramen.
Broth was warm not hot.
Surely not at the top of my list but passble. On my list, I would rank them maybe the 4th (you can. Guess who the other 3 are). My only reason to return was because I has a Deal Grocer coupon. I find their broths too salty.

With three hours past my usual lunch yime, I was craving for something comfy and warm. So I dragged my mom to the Ikkoryu branch in Shangri-la. I ordered the ajitama with hard noodles and some gyoza. My mom on the other hand can't live without rice so it was chashu rice for her. All 3 dishes were good and hit the right spot for late Saturday lunch! Will definitely come back
Why do we eat here when a saisaki buffet, with all its offerings, costs almost the same, and all that we get here is a bowl of noodles? Must be the black garlic ramen. I don't know If I am just your typical metro manila resident who is looking out for a new experience, and eating here instead of saisaki defies logic but makes sense to me, sometimes... Am I making sense?
Love how their ramen's soup is so thick it is probably the best ramen we've had (we havent tried a lot yet) they will aslo ask you what type and how you want your noodlea to be made. the price is within the usual ramen price range, very friendly staff (always a plus) it would be hard pressed for anyone to go here as first option since its located at the wing of shangri la mall teeming with other food joints but if u like a good ramen then you must try this place
The interior is nice. But it can get noisy when crowded. I like that they put seaweed in the ramen bowl. Their Ajitama ramen did not disappoint.
Tried the black garlic tonkatsu and the ajitama tonkatsu! Both tasted good... It's quite difficult to compare it with the other ramen I got to try since I think they're all unique in a way...
These 2 compared, I liked the ajitama better since the black garlic was...well...garlicky! :)
Here are some of the notes I can share for future ramen adventures:
1. The meat was not as generous a serving as that in Nagi and Ukkokei
2. I think the servings were smaller but still filling for one person
3. I liked their gyoza better than Ukkokei's
4. They have a wider variety of choices as compared to Nagi
Their sea salt and caramel ice cream was lovely! It tastes like Fic but this tasted "less commercialized". The bittersweet ending to evey spoonful of ice cream was heavenly and the hint of sea salt here and there was just exciting!
Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen feels like a modern restaurant with splatters of Japanese elements in it. Wooden beams with Japanese writings serve as dividers to the relatively tight space the restaurant occupied. There is an air of ambiguity in the shop’s design as dividers with square windows and a glass barrier glazed halfway through at the ramen bar affords the view of cooks going about their work, but prevents you from watching how your food is being prepared.
At the ramen bar, I noticed that there was no Japanese chef at the helm of their kitchen operations. Maybe Sunday is his off day? I thought to myself. Compared to stand-alone Japanese restaurants like Keizo in Burgos Circle, Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen with its empire of six restaurants conveniently located in malls and lifestyle districts has become more of a business franchise than a temple of ramen craftsmanship.
We ordered their signature Ajitama, Yuzu-Tama (spicy), and Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. Our server asked us how we wanted our noodles. We chose to have hard noodles (which means that your noodles will be firm to the bite - al dente, if you may).
I was pleased to see that Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen got the basics to their Tonkotsu Ramen right. The soup was thick, its top layer covered in pork fat. Besides its unique flavor profile, the pork fat traps the heat of your soup, making for a hearty, warm bowl of ramen through and through.
Annalyn and I shared between us bowls of Ajitama and Yuzu-Tama Tonkotsu Ramen. The Ajitama Ramen was creamy and full-flavored. The Yuzu-Tama Ramen‘s heat was very balanced, complementing the rich pork flavor. The chashu (pork slice) and half-boiled egg were prepared very well. The umami kicked in early on, however, which makes me think that they used too much MSG in the process. The taste of umami and the feeling of dryness was a distracting note for me.
Personally, it wasn’t a bad bowl of noodle soup. Definitely better than the ones I tried pre-Ramen War. But since we’re paying over 400 pesos per bowl (380 pesos + 10% service charge), I believe that they could have balanced their soup better, added more ramen noodles, and – while we’re at it - keep its authenticity by having a Japanese chef in the house.
Date-worthy verdict? Visit at your own risk. If you and your partner are both ramen lovers and you just have to visit all ramen houses for the sake of it, by all means go. The place is quite tight though and can get quite packed, so do not expect some alone time in this joint! If you’re not the typical date couple, perhaps it would be fun to try eating at the bar counter. Guests typically prefer to be seated at the tables so it’s less likely that you will be rubbing elbows with strangers by the ramen bar.

I had dinner at Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen at Shangrila Plaza East Wing recently to try their ramen. It was jampacked, as I've expected, but the place was modernly Japanese.
For starters, we had Gyoza and Karaage. I fell in love with their crunchy Karaage that I can eat the whole plate alone.
For ramen, we tried the Ajitama Tonkotsu Ramen, which was creamy and earthy at the same time. It's something I would crave for if I want some hot broth. One of their newest ramen is the Yuzu-Tama Tonkotsu Ramen, which is creamy and spicy at the same time. I would recommend this ramen for spicy-loving people. Surprisingly, I liked this ramen too.
The prices of Ikkoryu are very reasonable, given the authenticity, and the service was excellent. I would give this another visit to try the other ramen bowls and noodle dishes.
I would've given them a 5 if all their branches serve the Chasu Onigiri, which is only available at Sm Aura for Yeezus only knows what reason. Also, I wish they could serve their ramen with Hokkaido Santouka's pork cheek. A joint venture between these two ramen joints would be some Watch The Throne ish. Sign the petition.
