Food is okay, but the cheesiness is not to my liking
I love chicken doria!!! Lots of cheese, good rice and the chicken is flavorful! Served in a hot plate and you can add up some special seasoning.
Tried also their rice bowl and potato takoyaki.. I must say the takoyaki is one of the bests!!! Surely i'll visit here over and over again
It's my first time to eat in this place together with my friends and I swear their foods and customer service are excellent! We enjoyed the food we ate in this place and the serving of food is very fast! Their crews are very polite and friendly too! I'll definitely go back here! Thank you Tori Chizu for giving us a wonderful experience!
Liked my experience here. Here's why:
• Dishes are affordable, and have generous servings.
• Service was fast, and staff were attentive.
• Place is like BonChon, so it's really laid-back.
• All dishes were delicious.
However, I agree with some reviews here that there really is an "umay" factor in their cheesy dishes, so they really are best when shared.
I really enjoyed Tori Chizu because of their good food, serving and affordable sets! I'm already excited to go back to try their cheese rice and pasta bowl sets. Really a good deal you got here! ♥️
Third time to dine here (twice at this branch, once at Trinoma). Ordered the chicken karaage chizu rice bowl for lunch. Serving size was just right for its price (129 pesos). The cheese was not too overpowering, no "umay" factor unlike their other dishes.
Great service and attentive manager and staffs. Goob job ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Me and my daughter love the foods especially the over flowing cheese. Definitely going back again. We've been here several times already
Worth every penny. If you are looking for affordable yet super yummy foods, then Torichizu is a must try. The service is fast just like when you are in fast food, but the quality of food is like what you eat in restaurants. I am very much satisfied!
At first, I thought Tori Chizu is kinda pricey but I was wrong. There was a saying, "do not judge the book by its cover", yes because their restau looks classy and comfy. You would really think they have expensive meals but nah! Super affordable loke 100+ something and super worthy ng foods.
I super love their baked japanese rice. One serving is enough na to full your tummy. Ito 'yong kapag nadaanan mo, uulit ulitin mo or if you want japanese food and heavy and not pricey, dito ka talaga kakain.
ordered a chicken karaage? the chicken was kind of hard to bite into but the cheese sauce wasn’t too “cheesy”, it blended well with the whole bowl. the soft-served double cheese ice cream was really good, would go back just for that
We ordered their chicken katsu baked rice with mushroom sauce for a price of 200+ that is good for 2 people. But the serving size has quite a little amount though, which can be eaten by one person. Their cheese on the rice has a sour taste, or maybe because of the mushroom sauce? We also ordered their Potato Takoyaki (my personal fave!) and Bento meal with Beef Misono, a bit sweet which kinda tastes like beef steak but overall it was good.
The place is not packed in their branch here in Megamall.
This place has been receiving mixed reviews. I guess it comes with the expectation of how flavorful the cheese in the Doria is. I expected the creamy cheese to be subtle just like that of a Gratin dish and I got what I expected. The cheese was evident to enough to bring comfort to the taste buds.
So far I've tried the following dishes:
Chicken Katsu Curry Chizu Bowl
Chicken Karaage Chizu Bowl
Beef Chizu Bowl
Baked Pasta w/ Egg
Chicken Racks (8 pcs – 4 pcs Regular, 2 pcs Spicy, 2pcs Extra Spicy)
Potato Takoyaki
For all dishes, I found the cheese to be a great complement to the main dish. The Katsu was cooked right with the right crunchiness that can withstand the cheese sauce. Try the Potato Takoyaki as something new!
I've always been curious about Tori Chizu and their cheese laden dishes so a visit to their Megamall strong hold was in order. Together with fellow Zomato foodies, we sampled some of their NEW Chizu (Cheese) Rice Bowls, but first some of their appetizers: The Potato Takoyaki, priced moderately at 50pesos is a nice take on the traditional Takoyaki. Instead of octopus in soft, hot batter balls, they replaced it with diced potatoes topped with the takoyaki sauce, japanese mayo and the bonito flakes. The Baked Cheesy Pasta is tomato based but in a rather lighter consistency. Topped with mozzarella and more cheese sauce. I enjoyed the cheese very much but the tomato sauce was a bit lacking, it resembled Filipino spaghetti because of the lightness of it. The Chicken Rack is good for sharing with 8 pieces in total. You can mix and match the flavors. I enjoyed the original flavor because of its crunch, and the it was cooked to perfection. Light and moist. Gravy was served on the side. The NEW rice bowls comes in Chicken Karaage, Beef, and Curry. I enjouyed the beef, it went well with the side of shredded cabbage and the cheese sauce was just the right amount. The Curry could have been a nice flavor with the fried cutlet but i hardly tasted the spice and kick of the curry. Overall, the price and satisfying serving sizes warrants a repeat visit. Recommended.
I love the taste of the foods here. The customer service is also brilliant. My favorite here is the MilkChiz. It tastes like Milk Cheese Factory but in an affordable price. :)

Ever heard of Baked Japanese Rice or Doria? It is a Japanese Comfort food that's topped with cheese. The first restaurant I saw featured such dish is the Tori Chizu. As a cheese lover, I can say that they're good in playing around with it. The first time I tried this is their branch in Trinoma, didn't know have other branches across the Metro such as in SM Megamall. Price wise they have offerings around P129-P200, a typical pricing nowadays.
Their latest offerings are these rice bowls which features Chicken and Beef. The Karaage and Katsu Chicken are crispy and made specially with cheese sauce. The Beef strips kind of reminds me of Beef Misono, soft and tender. Serving size is acceptable for it's price.
Chicken Katsu Curry Chizu Bowl - P139
Chicken Karaage Chizu Bowl - P129
Beef Chizu Bowl - P149
Baked Pasta w/ Egg - P135 - I loved their baked rice, so it's no surprise I liked their baked pasta too. I loved the pasta sauce and the addition of egg adds texture too. Be warned, you might consume two plates because it is so good.
Chicken Racks (8 pcs – 4 pcs Regular, 2 pcs Spicy, 2pcs Extra Spicy) - P530 to 554
-flavors of their chicken are fine. I didn't quite notice the spicy maybe because I have high tolerance in eating it. I hope they can find a supplier with huge chicken cut as I find it small. This one is really good for sharing.
Potato Takoyaki - P50 - The taste of takoyaki is there, but hopefully they can work on increasing the size of the potato ball to make it look like a takoyaki. But nonetheless it is a potato so still fine for me.
Tori Chizu is the place to be for cheese lovers like me. The restaurant gets its name from teriyaki-coated chicken (tori) and cheese madness (chizu). They serve a specialty Japanese baked dish referred to as "doria", which is basically a rice gratin.
Rice is covered with flavorful white sauce, cheese and baked into perfection in a casserole. And topped with other ingredients. The result is a bubbling, comforting, cheesy meal that is delicious.
They have recently added some new items on their menu and I had the privilege to try them out.
Chicken Katsu Curry Chizu Bowl (P 139)- was simple yet I was surprised to find out that it actually tasted so good! The curry sauce definitely made a difference!
Chicken Karaage Chizu Bowl (P 129) is tempura-style fried chicken chunks which I love! It was super-crispy and packed with flavor.
Beef Chizu Bowl (P 149) was packed with flavor. I am partial to red meat and this savoury beef bowl comes well-seasoned.
Pasta with Egg (P 135) is baked spaghetti that is intense and flavorful. I love that the yummy noodles is lined with melted cheese, which is the real star, slightly charred and smoked.
Everyone loves a plateful of crunchy fried chicken. Tori Chizu offers Chicken Racks (starts from P 530) with 8-piece platter divided into 4 pcs Regular, 2 pcs Spicy, plus 2pcs served Extra Spicy.
I find Potato Takoyaki (P 50) interesting with added texture from bonito flakes. It was nothing spectacular, but it tasted good.
Do visit Tori Chizu for simple dishes withdelectable combination of flavors that really works.
If you love cheese, better try this place! I really love their Hambagu Doria especially when you pour their special spice, it really brings more flavor to the food. I also tried their Oyakodon and I liked it as well. I ordered their Cheese Ice Cream but I am kinda disappointed because I thought that it will be creamier than what I have expected that it should be but it is a-okay but not worth it of its price, though.
Baked rice topped with mozzarella cheese and chicken chops oozing with teriyaki sauce. Sounds appetizing right? There's a reason why it's listed under "good for sharing" because you'll get the umay factor halfway through. It's filling, salty because of the cheese, and hot, hot, hot! I actually prefer when food is served like this--the kind that could burn your tongue if you're not careful. Some say the cheese is bland. Others, like me, say the flavor is overpowering. I already expected that because it's a doria and it's supposed to be flavorful. So in its own food category, I'd say they did a good job. Cheese lovers will absolutely love this. I scored this a 4 though because of personal preference when it comes to taste as I disliked the sweet somewhat cheesy and oily feel of this food item. I liked their chicken though and it's the one thing I'll probably stick to ordering next time.
I've been wanting to eat here for a very long time and finally. It lives up to the hype. The cheese on all the things is very nice and considering the price, the serving sizes are actually pretty good. Wow! Yum!
This is a place I can see myself going back to, but unfortunately the lines can be a deterrent. But it's worth the wait and the price if you have the time and money. Ugh cheese.
I'm rating this on taste alone. We ordered in on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It tastes as good as it looks! They did not scrimp on cheese, every mouthful will have a hefty bite of it- it's simply heaven! I had curry chicken 🐔and I will be spreading the love!
My friend and I ordered the Doria (baked rice) Beef Yakiniku (both pictures) and Chicken Teriyaki. Both tasted good and we both loved the stringy cheese!
Ordered the Milkchiz (soft serve ice cream) which has a strong taste of cheddar cheese, reminiscent of the taste of Cal Cheese biscuits.
Ever since I saw one of their branches, I really want to try this resto and I did. I ordered Chicken Teriyaki Doria and a softdrink. I really love the strechy cheeze concept they have on their meals but I didn’t really liked the taste of their teriyaki sauce because it’s too sweet for my liking, and their chicken bits are too salty. I enjoyed it at first but I have trouble finishing the meal. Idk if that’s their signature taste but I’d be willing to try their other menu items next time. Props for the good service and affordable price, and I also loved the fact that what you see on the pictures and menu is the same thing they’ll serve you, not many restos do that. Still a recommended resto for me.
We ordered the group meal (good for 3). They served our order after 10-15mins which is okay. We just saw a hair strand in one of our dishes. They changed our order but, did not apologize for what happened. They need to improved on customer serivce and food handling techniques
I forgot my phone and the staff was nice enough to safeguard my phone until I came back for it. Their ramen is pretty good. 5 stsrs for excellent customer service.
I always go back for their soft-served MilkChiz! Not bad for P39 when you get it in a cup of P49 in a cone! They also offer baked rice meals!
I’ve passed by Tori Chizu a couple of times and finally decided to try it. I settled on the chicken curry cheese baked rice and I have no regrets. For a dish that was less than Php180, it was pretty great.
First time to eat. We tried this out out of curiously and all the resto’s in Mega got a long line of customers, and there was no available seats, so we made a decision to try here. Food is good! Will visit next time again to try another dishes on their menu.
Tori chizu baked rice.
Yummy!! Worth for 149php
Must try! I will try this again and bring my husband. Since he was the real fan of japanese food. Ininggit ko na lang sya 😂😂😂😂
Me, and my friends have been wanting to try them out for so long, and counting days since, it's safe to say it was a year in the making, and now we're here. 😀 As a cheese lover, this establishment always struck me curious, and ordering their Chicken Teriyaki Doria truly paid-off as it was what I was expecting, and more! I was a expecting a hit cheese of flavor which I got, but what surprised me was the smokey barbecue flavor I got from the rice. It was so flavorful, that it was almost hard to notice that there could have been more chicken pieces in it, much bigger ones too, but over-all it was good. The Japanese-style fried chicken, and the Oyokodon Tori Donburi was also good on their own. The Chicken Teriyaki Doria though, something worth coming back for.
Been passing this place a few times. The wife and I were always curious. Finally this time we decided to give it. Shot... It did not disappoint. This place is LEGIT! the portions seemed small at first... But we immediately understood why... Due to all the stuff they put into each meal... It became Incredibly heavy! Price point is really... Taste? Nice... Real nice... You guys have to try this joint.. It's not fast food tasting at all... Will come back to this new feeding hole Soon....
TORI CHIZU SM Megamall offers something unique for everyone. To be honest, when I first saw the advertisement as I enter SM Megamall, I was immediately in love with their food although I do not like baked rice. Japanese Baked Rice is something that is not regular in the Philippines, well since it is Japanese right? The inclusion of cheese into rice plus mixing it with beef, pork and even fish is something more unique.
We finally had the chance to try this new restaurant. We ordered Pork Katsudon, Oyakodon and Cheese and mushroom hambagu rice since we wanted to try the simplest one.
I tried their Pork Tonkotsu Ramen those al dente ramen noodles is made flavorful ’cause it’s tossed in sesame seeds and topped with seaweeds, spring onions, and of course, soft-boiled egg and a slice of pork.
The servings are quite enough and the price won’t burn a hole in your pocket and I think Tori Chizu will be seeing more of us when we’re at Megamall to try other food they offer.
We've been wanting to try this ever since we were still in Makati. Since we moved to Ortigas, we had the opportunity to try this out. So last friday, we decided to give this a try for our lunchout...
We ordered the Bacon and Pineapple Hamburg, Chicken Teriyaki, Cheese Curry and Beef Teriyaki. The servings and the price were just the right size for me.
✔ Chicken Teriyaki - This dish was delicious, love the ooey gooey mozarella cheese. This dish is best eaten with the powder they handed us upon serving the dish.
✔ Cheese Curry - Same feels with the Chicken Teriyak. The cheese was only on the side of the plate since the middle was filled with Curry.
❌ Bacon and Pineapple Hamburg - This dish disappointed us. It was bland in taste. Nothing special actually, just a usual Burger and Bacon with Pineapple and Rice.
✔✔✔ Beef Teriyaki - This by far was the BEST out of all the dishes we've ordered. There was some toasted garlic on top and this added some taste to the dish. There's also a lot of cheese on this. In case I would be dining in this restaurant, I would love to order this again. 😋
Food is really good!! Serving time can be improved tho. Slowly getting addicted to the baked cheese rice. Yum yum. And hopefully, more varieties for desserts could come out. But the cheese ice cream is really good.
The staffs are very nice and accommodating here. When we went there they were playing anime songs.
I've tried their chicken chizu curry and it's really good! If you love cheese then you'll love this resto! However, their fried chicken is very bland but it didn't bother me at all because it balanced out the rich flavor of the curry and cheese. But you have to eat fast otherwise the cheese would harden if your food get cold.
Highly recommend this to people who loves cheese!
For a place dead smack in the middle of the high foot traffic area of Megamall, this place was neat and organized. I came here for the cheese and boy it did not disappoint! I love the chicken terriyaki doria that's just smothered with a thick layer of cheese. Have I overstated my love for cheese? They gave me cheese and I loved it! The only reason I didn't give a perfect 5 is because my partner ordered the spicy tomato chicken and he said it tasted like....spaghetti. Which I verified and agreed. It wasn't bad. It was just confusing. Nevertheless, the place is worth a visit. The turnover of seats is quite fast. Also the staff are very accommodating.
I am a cheese lover so I really wanted to try it here. It was worth every penny and I really loved the feeling when you're lifting the cheese up. Service was just okay we waited for a while before we got our water. The ambiance is okay too it's best for hanging out with friends. The serving might look small but it was enough for 1 person, It tasted nice but after a while, you get the "umay" feeling, But if you're a cheese lover this is definitely worth a try.
We tried this “doria” we keep on hearing and YES! It’s delicious and worth for the money. The chicken is just plain and nothing special but it’s fine since it’s affordable. What we really love is their DORIA!!! swear try it and you’ll get to experience baked rice goodness.
Delicious :) most especially for people who love cheese 🧀 We ordered Chicken Chizu Curry and Gyudon. Although I would appreciate it if they give bigger servings or if there is an actual Chicken in the chicken chizu curry. All in all we enjoyed it :)
One of my go-to places whenever I am craving for something cheesy and I'm in Megamall. Their TC original chicken has this sweet and salty taste to it, and it may be nakakaumay for other people after some time.
Server was attentive to my needs (considering this is a fastfood joint) and would refill my glass with water every now and then when he noticed it's almost getting empty.
Cheese is probably one of the best creations ever made! I love cheese so much that I could finish a quarter of a cheese wheel in one sitting. I love it with crackers, wine, fruits and even ramen. And when I found out that there's a place that offers baked rice with cheese, I just have to check it out!
Umami!!! This restaurant offer a new twist on the fried chicken. Food was as expected, hot, delicious and most of all, savory. Place is relatively clean and service is very good. Will definitely be back here, this time, with the family. Oh, BTW, forgot to mention it’s super affordable!
Love the baked rice. My favorite was Teriyaki Chicken Baked Rice. Best to mix or at least move the bottom rice a bit or it will get overcooked or too dry.
This is a fastfood restaurant so expect the same level of service and quality of food.
Blogged about this! What I like most about Tori Chizu Megamall was their customer service. The moment we stepped on their premise, their manager welcomed us warmly and personally lead us to a table. Take note: it was lunch rush that time. He took his time to hand us a leaflet and tell us that we ought to sit down while deciding and once we're ready to order, we can head to the counter. Nice right?
Also, the klutz that I am, I managed to spill my soda. That was entirely my fault and I am soooo embarassed but one of the staff cleaned my mess up, handed me a pack of fresh napkins, AND GAVE ME A NEW GLASS OF SODA! The family seated next to us was calling his attention because they wanted their table cleaned (no, not my soda) but kuya politely said that he is cleaning our station and will call someone to assist them asap (he did just that). I asked for his name so I can commend him but he shyly refused. BEST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. EVER.
Food was great, btw 💚💙💚
Great staffs, good servings. The only minimal downside when we went there is that the food came up late, though it's a fast food restaurant, maybe because of the customers' volume, nonetheless it's worth the wait.
Tried this place for the first time. Was curious what this cheese rice dishes were all about. It definitely passed my inspection as most of the food came out yummy. We ordered the original chicken doria, hambagu with cheese, fries, umami fried chicken and the cheese ice cream. With the exception of the umami fried chicken which was bland and not crispy, the rest were good.
I’ve been seeing this restaurant every time I visit SM Megamall. So one afternoon I was having a mini reunion with my friends and they’re asking me where to eat and I suggested this place. Since I want something cheesy the timing was perfect. So We ordered Kali Takoyaki, Beef Yakiniku and Burger Rice Meal I forgot the name. I love their Baked Rice Meal. I enjoyed my meal and I will definitely visit this place again to tried other flavour.
