Love at first bite!!! The original xiao long bao's very good 😍😍😍
Forgot other food's names hehe. But they're worth the wait! Also love that this branch is not that crowded, hehe. I don't like crowded restaurants coz I'm somehow shy when eating great foods! Will definitely come back to try more on your menu!!!

Lugang Café is always known to have an extravagant and fancy interior. I always think that it's ambiance is very soothing every time we passed by at their SM Aura branch. But this time we dined in at their Megamall branch.

We ordered Pork XLB, Sweet and sour pork, Crispy Chicken Nuggets and Milktea and Iced Tea for our drinks. The food is okay! Their XLB is comparable to other known Taiwanese restaurant. I liked their chicken nuggets. And for the milktea I think it's pricey for 140php.

They have a very good and attentive service too! We would like to come back next time, because I heard that they always have an unlimited dimsum and drinks that lasts for a month.

(4.5/5) When Lugang invites you to an unli Xiao Long Bao feast, you don't say no! The Xiao Long Bao's, whatever's inside, were pretty great and flavorful. Just wished the soup inside was a little more in quantity. Plus, the main dishes were pretty awesome too! Top picks here are the Salt and Pepper Squid, Vietnamese Egg Rolls, Salted Egg Shrimps, and Peking Duck Wraps!

Love also how accommodating the staff are! They don't let us get to their nerves even if we had lots of requests.

Lugang's Feast All You Can! promo is a good deal. It's unlimited dimsum and more plus 1 house specialty for only Php 598.

They just need to improve their serving time and avoid order mix ups.

My favorite Taiwanese restaurant of all times. If I could, I would eat all of their xiao long bao!

Our usuals: pork xiao long bao, chicken with ginger and green onion, shrimp wanton in chili oil, mixed mushroom with XO (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐), spicy garlic fish in claypot, washi mayo prawns, mango smoothie

Their service is still great, and the servers are helpful.

Very pleasant interior design. Food is great for its price range. We always get the spicy fish head which takes a long time to prepare since it's a big dish but worth the wait always. Desserts are also attractive.

We crave the foodie experience we've had during our trip to China. There's of course a difference than Lugang's offering but definitely still yum in its own ways.

Food - 4.5. Yum! I just wished that the fried rice has less more oil.
Service and Ambiance - 4. Luxury and Cozy dining experience. I just wished that table for two can accomodate orders without feeling tight with the space. Other than that great experience.

Order: Fried Siopai, Xiao Long Bao, Siomai and Fish-Chicken Fried Rice.

Lugang Cafe, provides the exquisite Chinese tastes to my Filipino tastebuds. Awesomely delicious and tasty! Plus, a reasonable price for each dish that they serve! Truly masterful, you must definitely try it, especially their golden fried rice and their highly appetizing sweet and sour soup, paired with very a cool glass of cucumber juice with mint. Must try!

Lugang is another xiaolongbao spot that offers a wide variations of food. We tried a lot of their dishes. Something that caught my attention was that their serving sizes were good. For what you pay, it’s definitely worth every peso. Tastewise was also awesome. I don’t remember the names of what we had but it was the chinese sausage rice, shrimp pineapple salad, some chicken ginger garlic, beef noodles, a HUGE bingsu like desert, and vegetables with century egg. This place is legit. Found myself a new fave chinese resto.

Excellent place for great modern chinese food. Chinese food with fusion and presentation which is now becoming a norm in the industry. But of course they still have the traditional menu and these dumplings rock.

Been here about 15 times - at least. Food is consistent and service is reliable.
Usual order:
Salt and Pepper Squid - this is 5⭐, great seasoning and coating, not too oily, serves 3 people
Pan-fried Dumplings - also 5⭐, like the crust on the wrapper, really hefty filling, great dips on the side, and I think it's about 7 dumplings!
Taiwanese Omelette - 4⭐, fluffy, can taste the butter, a bit salty last time we had it
Three Cup Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken with Cashews - 3.5⭐, just okay, not bad but not memorable
Boneless Chicken - 3.5⭐, just okay too
Wonton soup - 3.5⭐, this is good for one person because the soup isn't a lot but they are generous with the wontons
Half Chicken - 2.5⭐, because for 400+ bucks, it wasn't exceptional
Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet - 3.5⭐, it's delicious, but the sauce makes the coating soggy
XLB - 4⭐, better than DTF, it is for me at least. Though I don't usually order this. TBH, I wouldn't pay over 200 for steamed dumplings. Even if they have soup in it.
Tofu - 3.5⭐, not a fan of silky tofu but this was really, well, silky soft and it tasted good
Service is always good! I commended a server before, Harold, and they actually responded to my email. The staff is always attentive, cheerful and courteous.
Place is nice, from the table setting, to the interior.
Price is reasonable for the serving and almost everything we order taste great.
One tiny concern, they phased out this amazing soup with chicken and pork in vegetable broth. We always ask when we visit but I guess they aren't bringing it back.😣

I was craving for XLB and I realized I haven't tried this branch yet.

Looking at the menu, I found out they stopped offering my fave Stir Fried Beef with Chinese Crullers. Because of that I hesitated.

XLB - one of the best for me. 1 order is jist enough for a hungry me.
Fried Rice with Taiwanese Sausage - really expensive
rice, but really delicious as well. Must order.
Salt and Pepper Squid - safe ans delicious dish to order. Great with rice. Flavor is on point.
Three Cup Chicken - delicious as well, but is better paired with soft steamed rice.

Overall, I really loved everything I ordered. It's just that I believe their service can be better. Also, ang tagal lumabas nung order na chicken, kalahati malang yung kanin wala pa ding manok.

We went here for their annual dumpling all you can promo. Promo comes with a free entree per person plus a side from the actual dumplings.

Food was really good. Meat eaters out there, stick to pork and shrimp xiao long baos. Their veggie dumplings really taste greens, and I don't say that to offend veggie lovers.

We had the salted egg chicken and sizzling beef as entrees and they were really good.

Place looks big due to mirrors making the size look double. Some furniture seats has minor rips. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating.

FAVOURITE RESTAURANT
Lugang is my favourite restaurant. As much as others claim that their food aren't authentic, it is the best for me. Their pork xiao long bao and xiao mai are the best. I regularly order those dimsum along with their sweet and sour pork. Pork knuckles are good as well. This branch in particular offers a BETTER service as compared to their branch in North Edsa. Staff shows knowledge of the food unlike the other branch. I'd visit Lugang at least twice a month.

We did the Lugang Cafe feast all you can and we enjoyed it. Lugang does this (to our memory) twice a year. The feast all you can comes with unlimited dimsum, a main of your choice and a scoop of ice cream.

For mains, we tried a new item - Peking duck and a trusted item, pan fried dumplings. The Peking duck was served as a wrap with the usual veggies and hoisin sauce. The duck was outnumbered by veggies though so you couldn’t really taste it. Will not have this duck dish at Lugang again. The pan fried dumplings were a hit for us.

We love all the steamed XLBs, but our favourite ones are the vegetable and pork XLB and the vegetarian dumplings with truffle oil.

The feast all you can promo is the perfect opportunity to try new things on Lugang’s menu. We enjoyed and thought that we got more than our money’s worth with the feast all you can versus the a la carte pricing.

Mouthwatering food. Great interior.
A bit expensive for those in a budget, but i assure you the taste is worth the price.

Their xiao long bao is the best! Once you take a bite, the juice will ooze and the flavor will dance in your mouth :) the meat inside is not dry and rough in texture

We’ve also tried their kung pao chicken w/ cashew, three cup chicken and salt and pepper squid. All of it taste superb.

For the dessert, it is best to end your meal with the shaved ice w/ red bean.

I recently visited their SM Megamall branch for a late lunch. Instead of ordering their usual bestsellers xiao long bao and pineapple fried rice, I opted for their yakiniku beef belly set and prawns with mayo. As for the set meal, there was the beef yakiniku, of course, rice, a bit of salad on the side, and soup as starter. Here’s my take: 1. the beef yakiniku was tasty (maybe a bit too salty for some people), but there were more onions and mushroom than actual beef belly; the soup had an unusual taste which I did not like; salad was so-so; 2. prawns with mayo (I forgot what sauce was on top) were much better and I really enjoyed them, but perhaps they’re more of an appetizer than an entree.

Service was ok; the place was quite smaller but had the same classy and elegant vibe as with the other branches.

I celebrated my 23rd birthday here.hihii If you are looking for a taste of Chinese cuisine Lugang Cafe is one of the best place to experience it. I can say that the taste of food is very authentic.

What I like?
1. Place
The place is really awesome. From the interior if the restaurant down to its lights and wall accents. I love the big mirror situated on the left corner. It brought an illusion that the place is huge.
2. Food
The variety of their dumplings can make you desire to try them all. Haha I really like the xiao long bao and their pork wonton (honestly, I really like the chili sauce).
3. Staff
Their staff is very accommodating. They make sure that they were able to satisfy and meet the needs of their customers.

What I do not like?
Their staff is really nice. It so happen that we are just 2 the staff let us sit in the crowded place. It is next to the other guest well in fact there are other seats out there. But it is okay because we just moved to the place where we really wanted (next to the big mirror) haha

Had dinner with the Family at this resto. Below are my comments.
Ambiance - cozy and warm.
Server - Attentive.
Food - Delivered on time. Duck was awesome, dumpling was so good and I loved their signature drinks. Below are what we ordered.

-Steamed shrimp and pork - You need to eat it whole 😉
-Crispy chicken - Okay for me.
-Roasted duck - One of the best I have tasted 😍
-Kung pao chicken with Cashews - The taste was balance.
-Fried prawns with salted egg - This was a total winner with big prawns 😎
-Napa cabbage with pepper and pork - We need veggies lol but it was good.
-Hot and sout soup - I think there was only 3 or 4 of us who liked this.
-Sweet and sour fish fillet - Gone in a few minutes.
-Fried rice with Taiwanese sausage.
-Fried rice with salted fish and diced chicken.

SPECIALTY DRINKS
Freshly brewed ice tea
Blended mango and sago coconut milk
Iced fruit tea
Mango juice
Lemonade
Cranberry with mango - I love this one 😘

Overall it was satisfying, we even scouted a couple of resto before we decided to try Lugang. Highly recommended.

I would've given it a perfect 5 however when we sat on the table, we were looking around doing nothing for 10min and no one even bothered how the dimsum all you can eat works. I knew i have to order however i was checking if customer service is good and it was average. The food though is really good. Every bite of those dimsums are both juicy and fun to eat! My main tip is to get the pork luh xiao bao i think the name of is. And ask for extra ginger for your vinegar as it really compliments the sauce.

We had dinner here and everything was delicious.

The prawn salad served with steamed broccoli was delicious - prawns were juicy, broccoli bright green and still crisp, its clean taste offering a perfect balance to the richness of the dressing.

The Xiao Long Bao was juicy, with perfect proportions. It was assembled expertly and did not break off. It stayed plump and tasty even up until the end of our meal when we finished it off.

Runaway hit of the night was the Three Cup Chicken. Albeit a bit salty (which you should offset with plain rice ;)), it offered bite size pieces of chicken in a sweet-salty-and-a hint of sour sauce. It came on a hot plate with large pieces of roasted garlic, which lent a creamy, smoky sweetness to the dish, and slivers of red pepper.

Service is quick and friendly, and the servers were knowledgeable about their products. Worth a second visit to try the many other dishes, and perhaps some of their signature drinks.

Disclaimer: I have yet to try their full meals and this review is based only on my noodle-eats! 🍜
If you like Taiwanese style noodles soup, or haven't indulged in them yet, this is a good place to start! While they have a couple of soup varieties to offer, I always go for the tendon soup! Tendon is very popular in Taiwan as is thought to be good for your skin and it's like eating collagen! So it's a hunger-buster and beauty treatment in one! So you'll hopefully walk out looking refreshed literally and figuratively 😊
It's budget friendly-er than Ramen at less than Php 300.

Opted to go #FAYC2017 for this year's overdue company summer outing. Here's some of @lugangcafe appetizers and dimsum that we ordered last night. Total of 21 pax. Imagine 21 main dishes and overflowing dimsum. 😂

Tried this feast two years ago at their Connecticut branch and up to now they never disappoint. The quality of every food is there and up to my expectations just like before. And the price is unbelievably affordable too. Everybody was happy and satisfied. I heard my colleagues earlier today that they will dine again at Lugang but with their families.

Tips:
1. Make a reservation a head of time. In my case, 1 week before.
2. Prolly check out the FAYC menu ahead of time so you know what to order when you go there.
3. Skip the Rice and Soup of the day. Though both are ok, it'll make you full faster.
4. Ask for vinegar from time to time. Otherwise, you will not be able to enjoy the xiao long bao.
5. Order the cucumber pickles (it may not be that sulit because it's just cucumber) but it would help make alis the sawa.
6. The Honey squid is quite rubbery so remove this from your list.

Another great place to satisfy your Taiwanese food cravings...

I was still not yet over my XLB cravings, so I begged the H2B last Sunday to go for Taiwanese. We are always eating at DTF, so we decided just to go with Lugang Cafe this time.

To be honest, it's been years since we have been back to Lugang. I can't really say why that is so, since the food is awesome. Plus, I love how they have so many varied options on the menu.

We started our meal with the pork xlb-- hot, very soupy, and delicious. The Taiwanese Crispy Chicken nuggets were excellent-- I love how they were seasoned just right. We also had the pineapple and shrimps stuffed in crulers-- a play on the usual shrimp salad... A well-balanced dish overall. Of course, what would this meal be without rice? We had the Fried rice with salted fish and diced chicken-- something we both really enjoyed. Nothing too salty about the dish. We were too full to even contemplate desserts.

The service was commendable. I felt well taken care of while at the restaurant. Food was served piping hot and in a timely fashion. Truly a great option for Sunday lunch with the family.

Note: Late Review

The plan was to dine at DTF but the number of people waiting outside is off putting. Went to Linguini Fini but we both wanted rice so i dragged him to Lugang Cafe.

It is a busy Sunday service but we only waited for 20 seconds to get a seat. They have an efficient method of ensuring incoming customers are seated as soon as possible.

We ordered the following:

Shrimp and Crab Xiao Long Bao
Stir Fried String Beans with Salted Egg
Oyster Omelette
Golden Thingy Fried Rice

You wanna know what's funny, I've dined at Lugang countless times but this is the first time I've tried their XLB. You gotta hand it to the chef, the method on encasing the filling and the broth inside the wrapper is genius. The inside is moist and flavor and the outside is firm. He liked it, wow at first bite.

Who would've thought that you can add oysters in omelette. This is a breath of fresh air. Best paired with chile sauce and a spoonful of rice.

The beans is a staple whenever I dine at Lugang. My all time favourite veggie dish. He said that if all string beans are cooked this way, then everyone will start eating their leafy greens.

Dining at Lugang is always satisfying. This is one of those restaurants i always go back to.

Consistence And Quality

Pork Xiao Long Bao
Stir Fried Beef with Chinese Cruller
Fried Prawns in Oats

Every time I visit, this restaurant really exceeds my expectations.

Xiao long bao - has improved over the years. Soup inside the dumpling has a perfect flavor that goes well with the dipping sauce. Recommend this.

Beef - this is a texture bomb! The perfect combination of tender beef with a thick sauce and crunchy Chinese cruller that stays crispy throughout the meal.

Prawns - just average, I can pick a few places that are better, but this dish was good. Crunchy outside and cooked just right inside.

Overall a good pick, consistently good.

Very nice ambiance. They have tablewares for toddlers. The food was great and flavorful especially the squid (forgot the name). I was focused on the food and my kids so I can hardly recall the name of the dishes. The porkchop suited the taste buds of my eldest while the bunso can't get over with the sweet & sour pork that she forgot to use spoon and fork and used her bare hands instead. The noodles was best enjoyed by my hubby. Overall, the food was greatly satisfying 👍👍👍

It's been a while since i last ate at Lugang.. and it's actually really good to know that, one way or another the quality of their food did not deteriorate through the years.. there was a little bit of missess amidst the hits though.. we had:
1. Noodles with mushroom - which according to my sister had a burnt taste/smell but dad says was good.
2. Beans with salted egg - a hit!
3. Fried rice with salted fish and chicken - normal
4. Oyster omelette - now i am a huge fan of oyster omelettes and ive tried a LOT. This one from lugang, taste wise is really good but they could do better. The omelette was too thick with starch..
5. Shrimp balls with mozarella - they can actually skip the mozarella and this would still be really yummy. The dot of cheese inside the shrimp ball is negligible.
6. Sweet and sour pork - normal (forgot to take a photo)
7. Kung pao chicken - normal
8. Baked clams in egg custard - now, this dish, we wanted to try because it was new... it's actually really good and light BUT the clams were all sandy. It's like chewing sand and that's never fun. Taste wise, good.
9. Hot taro sago - too darned sweet and flour-y

Had a lovely Chinese dinner in a group of 6. Chinese food is so much better when had in large groups since you can order a number of dishes. Lugang Cafe has been such a place to enjoy the best of Taiwanese cuisine for a number of years now.

Soups - both the Hot & Sour Soup and the Seafood Spinach Soup were great tasting.

Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao was excellent

Soft Tofu with mushrooms in Abalone sauce is probably the best way to have Tofu!

Fried Lapu Lapu on light soy sauce was good too. As was Steamed Shrimp with garlic sauce. Breaded Shrimp Balls with Mozzarella was amazing. This is a must try.

Twice stewed pork was very tasty. Stir fried string beans was crispy and tasty.

I felt, over so many dishes, Lugang didn't put a foot wrong. Every dish was perfect or near perfect. Soups, shrimp balls, stewed pork, soft tofu were my favorites. Try Lugang for your next group get together. You will enjoy it!

Place is adequately spacious, well-ventilated, clean and i love the modern interior styling . I ordered pork xiao long bao, 1/2 crispy chicken, fried rice with black pepper beef and cucumber mint juice. True enough, food are worth the price.

Waiters are very accommodating. One thing that turns me off is when they were able to serve food to the table just right next to me earlier than mine though I ordered earlier than them. It had me think, are they VIP's?

Very good quality of food! Ate here around 5x already 😊 a bit pricey, but quality can't be beat. I highly recommend their chicken with green scallions ❤️ xiao long baos are good, salted egg green beans 👍 pepper beef and fish with mango tasted msg-y. Bihon was forgettable.

They don't serve house tea ☹️ The CR is only 1 unisex cubicle, same with the SM North branch.

Here's another Chinese restaurant who aims to provide oustanding dining experience. Their modern interior and aesthetic design hypnotized us to dine here. They have high quality foods and prices were just okay for the serving sizes.

Very satisified with the Seafood Spinach Soup- served hot, tasty and hefty! That breaded pork dish was good too. Great service as the staff were attentive to our orders and food was delivered promptly. Neat and fancy interiors. You'll get your money's worth here.

From the food to the drinks, every single thing was superb. This is coming from someone who doesn't like Chinese food, so i believe that says a lot. We enjoyed each item and it was obvious that they perfected what they offer. Their service is also commendable as their servers were helpful and they deliver in a short amount of waiting time.

My favorite was their Xiao Long Bao. It was soft and the soup inside it was a surprise and comolemented the dimsum well. It was a joy to have tasted it.

There was nothing i did not like about the restaurant which is why i am giving it a general review. Try it out and you'll get your money's worth!

We are becoming regulars here. And each time we dine, they add new dishes. The glazed anchovies is superbly good, sweet and crispy with the right saltiness of the fish, a must try. Crispy chicken is fried the way we like it, the skin evenly coating the chicken meat. Three-cup chicken, taiwanese pork chop and salt/pepper squid as always are consistently good.
Service is fast, waiters/waitresses are always attentive.

Let me start by saying they have one of the best menu. Its like a well made food magazine. Yep, there's at least 30 pages of appetizing photos and its descriptions.

Its my fourth time here, the three were in their grand location in Greenhills. The dishes are still consistent. The best one we had in this trip is the Three Cup Chicken.

The caramely sweet touch is a unique part in this dish. The flavor made even better with cloves of garlic. The fish just lacked a bit of saltiness to make it even more memorable. The crunchy Tao-so was a nice addition though.

On the dimsum side, I'd had better XLB. For me Choi Garden still is best. I did visit Lugang though for the dessert. Must try their best selling Mango Ice. Its good for 3 for just Php 220. Sweetened Mangoes in really fine ice and condensed milk.

I enjoyed my dinner with friends here at Lugang Cafe SM Megamall. I'm always impressed by Lugang's interiors -- very elegant and the ambiance is superb. Of course, I will be raving about their Xiao Long Bao. It was flavorful and delicious in one bite! We ordered other dishes like Sweet and Sour Pork, Stir-Fried Broccoli, Taiwanese Salt and Pepper Squid and Pineapple and Shrimps Stuffed in Crullers which we enjoyed as well. The squid was a bit tough though.

Ordered a lot of dishes but only got a chance to take a photo during dessert.

Lugang has recently changed/updated their menu. Cant say i was disappointed. Their selections are good and priced reasonably.

My personal favorite, besides the mandatory xiao long bao, was the fish fillet with tauso. It's fresh and tasty.

As for the mango pudding, i still like gloria maris' version better. Although i loved that they topped this with fruits.

Service was good too.

Update:
Fried rice was swimming in oil, literally!
Mango pudding still good but inconsistent. Mine had no kiwi while my brother's had one.

I've been here several times, till I found out that the menu was changed. Lugang will always be my favorite. From the mouthwatering photos on the menu, variety of food to its taste, the interior, the staff, everything is such an A+! Even it's kinda pricey, well you didn't pay just for the ambiance but for the good food as well. You won't regret spending your money on food specially here at Lugang Cafe. My favorite is the calamari!!! 😍

LUGANG CAFE is the best contemporary Taiwanese restaurant in Manila.

I was really glad to be invited to attend the tasting event - new dishes that will be released this month!

List of New Dishes:

Three cups Shrimp, Crispy Chicken, Kung-Pao Chicken with Cashews, Three cups Squid, steamed shrimp with garlic, beef belly in sour broth, and the vegan dish called kao fu!

My favorite was the Three cups shrimp and I also love the Kao fu! I felt really healthy eatig the two dishes.

I can’t wait to go back for another round of Taiwanese stew, half a bowl of rice, hot tea and a new dessert.

New dishes will surely be a big hit. Thanks again to Lugang Cafe

The ambiance is just gorgeous.  The food was superb.  Another Chinese Restaurant I can recommend.  I love the Stir-Fried Beef with Chili.  Sweet and Spicy.  Just perfect!  The Xiao Long Bao was not that memorable for me though.  It was just typical steamed pork for me.  The Calamares was good too.  It was cooked perfectly and a bit crunchy.  It's been seasoned well.  I'm a sucker for Fried Rice and I loved their version of it.

A few weeks ago, I was invited by Zomato to attend one of the events for Cruising Magazine’s Travel for Food campaign. I already talked about this campaign a while ago, when I was invited to the Shrimp Bucket and the Cowrie Grill events. This time, the featured restaurant was Lugang Cafe at the 3rd floor of the Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall.

Did you know that Lugang is really pronounced as Loo-Kang? But everybody’s so used to pronouncing it as Lugang… if I suddenly start pronouncing it as Loo-Kang, I think people will start looking at me funny

Lugang is a Taiwanese restaurant, also known as the Bellagio Cafe, a chain of restaurant/cafes in China, with origins in Shanghai.

LUGANG CAFE FOOD REVIEW

We were served their specialties – we started with the Xiao Long Bao (P248 for 8 pcs). As Xiao Long Bao’s go, this was pretty good! The skin was thin but resilient – it didn’t break apart on me, and can you see the amount of soup it held? Flavor-wise, it was mild and delicate. I would consider it one of the best Xiao Long Pao’s available in Metro Manila.

The way to eat it is to lift the Xiao Long Bao from the top part, taking great care not to tear the wrapper. Then dip it into the gingery vinegar sauce, and eat the entire thing in one bite!

Next, we were served Lugang’s Three-Cup Chicken (P320) – it is called 3 cup chicken because it is traditionally made with one cup each of soy sauce, rice wine and sesame oil. Some spices like ginger and garlic are added, and the chicken is cooked until all the sauces are absorbed by the chicken, resulting in amazingly deeply-flavored chicken pieces that go perfectly with rice.

For rice, we had the beautiful Pineapple Fried Rice (P290) – I love pineapple rice, so I’m very happy with this. Just look at those lovely grains of rice!

The dish that surprised me the most was the Pan-Fried Siopao (P268 for 6 pcs). I didn’t expect anything much from siopao – most siopaos I have had are pretty generic, and I have given up on finding truly good siopao from regular restaurants. But when I took one pan-fried siopao, I was immediately struck by how fluffy the siopao bread is! It was really light and fluffy, like a cloud! The picture just doesn’t do it justice.

The meat filling itself was also delicious – mild and fragrant with spring onions – but it is the siopao “bread” that really knocks this pan-fried siopao out of the park! This is the dish I am going to go back to Lugang for.

For dessert, we had the Bellagio Breeze (P260) – it was like a deconstructed Halo-halo, with shaved ice, red beans, green beans (monggo), condensed milk, pineapple, but I’m really not a fan of beans for dessert.., it is nice to look at though, the presentation was something!

SUMMARY

I’d recommend the Xiao Long Bao and the Pan-Fried Siopao :) The Three-Cup Chicken and the Pineapple Rice were also pretty good.

Price is as expected at this level of restaurant, and it is Chinese food - so budget around P500-800 per person.

Lugang Cafe is one of the popular restaurant for Xiao Long Bao in the metro. It is one of the franchises from abroad that has taken the culinary world by storm and bringing tons of award from prestigious groups.

Xiao Long Bao - the best in the Philippine dining scene so far. Having a delicate thin skin that gently tears apart while chewing and the rich pork juices just flows together with the soft pork meat. It gives you the feeling of how it melts in your mouth, not in you hand.

Pinepaple Rice - The pineapple rice was good having the balance of texture and flavors from the vegetables and pineapple. It is also pleasant to the eyes, as how the Chinese people eats, with their eyes first.

3 Cup Chicken - It is one of the famed dishes in southern China. It is basically 1 cup each of soy sauce, chinese wine, and sesame oil that the chicken is cooked in. They let it simmer to let the chicken absorbed everything. It was tasty, nice balance of flavor and fragrance from the soy and sesame oil. The wine balances everything. I just a find it a bit on the salty side and a little but tough. But overall its a nice pairing to the rice.

The crew was attentive. One even gave us an extra chair for our bags. We ordered the Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao and the Stir-fried Beef Noodles with Taiwanese BBQ sauce.
We asked for house tea and they offered a refillable hot tea pot for only 40PHP, which I ordered. Anne ordered Cantonese Iced Milk Tea.
The Xiao Long Bao was A+! I would gladly come back for more. It's a good bonus that they deliver through twoanyone.
The stir-fried beef noodles were good, but not the usual type of noodle that the Filipino palette may love. It has a different texture but the overall taste was good.
The experience was good, maybe I'd go back to try more of their dishes (and for more Xiao Long Bao 😉).

Very delicious food at ridiculously high prices haha :p but really, everything is oh so flavorful! I especially like their different kinds of rice, and each kind is already a meal on its own (black pepper beef rice is my fave because it's spicy). The place is also quite elegant, and their dishes are equally good-looking slash Instagram-worthy!

Occassional family restaurant since it opened in Ph. Must try their Xiao Long Bao, Hainese Chicken and Mango Sago. A bit pricey for a cup of rice so I must recommend their wide variety of Fried Rice instead. Interiors are elegant. Staff might delay a bit due to the many customers that come and go.

Was craving for some dimsum and just some good old Chinese food. Aunt's not a fan of Xiao Long Bao, but since she wanted siomai, we had to get Lugang's version. We also ordered the noodles (forgot the name because the taste was so-so), and the shrimp with wasabi mayo. The shrimp was my favorite dish out of all three!
