Flavorful and reasonably priced pizza and salad; well-managed ambience; warm and mindful servers. On my first visit at shangrila mall, the family ordered thai salad, chicken barbecue salad, and signature pizza - and we loved every single bite! No wonder the restaurant traffic here is always high!

Pizza is in their name, because pizza is their game. We had the best tasting pizza dough in the metro and ordering 5 cheeze pizza highlighted it since it had no frills of excessive toppings.

Marinara pasta was superb, as the noodles were cooked right and the sauce had the genuine sea flavor that the dish requires.

Drinks were fresh and soothed our weather induced thirst.

Lastly, their artichoke spinach dip was the perfect introduction to all the good food that we ordered and gladly described above.

Place - 4/5 (tendency to get noisy, especially on Friday nights)

Price - 3/5 (it is still expensive though)
Service - 5/5 (crew checks on you regularly and they serve the appetizers fast, as it should be)

My officemates and I had lunch here with and I just trusted them to choose what we'll eat. It did not matter because every dish served to us was delicious. We ordered the following:
Appetizer: Spinach Artichoke Dip, Bbq Chicken Nachos," Grilled Shrimp, Strawberry + Goat Cheese Salad"
Pizza: Steak Mushroom + Truffle, Five Cheese + Fresh Tomato, The Meat Cravers, Quorn
Pasta: Kung Pao Spaghetti, Spaghetti Carbonara

What stood out for me are the Kung Pao Spaghetti (unique flavor and I really loved the texture that the peanuts add), The Meat Cravers Pizza, and the Steak Mushroom + Truffle Pizza (savory and the mushroom tastes really good). This resto definitely is a must-try.

Absolutely love CPK! Their food like the bbq chicken salad, their truffle pasta, their five cheese and tomato pizza are delicious! And don’t forget their raspberry iced tea.

The service is good and the ambiance very relaxed! They’ll help you with anything you need. It was a bit warm when I went there though.

It is a bit pricey hence the 4 stars, but I went here with a metrodeal promotion which gave me 30% off on 1000 worth. Made it even better!

Always a fan of pizza & pasta combo and that makes CPK one of our go-to pizza parlors. The ambience is very cozy and servers were attentive. When we dined here, only few people were occupying the other tables so service was quite fast. We loved everything that we ordered.

I celebrated my birthday here last May. We loved everything we ordered especially the Garlic Cream Fettuccini. It was the first time that we tried it and we instantly loved it. It’s cream based pasta (which my mom doesn’t usually like) but she finds it great too. It doesn’t have that ‘nakakaumay’ taste. Their BBQ Chicken pizza is a classic and a must-order here. The Caesar salad’s good too though it’d be better if it has more salad dressing.

Fresh salad, chewy pizza crust, and friendly service made for a good experience. The dip of the chips was superb.

Food was very fresh and enjoyable. The tomato soup was warm and good, the salad was crunchy and tasty, and the pizzas were chewy and delicious. I'm not a big fan of this style of pizza (thick crust), but I did enjoy eating theirs. Not the best, but it was okay. Overall, the food was better than I expected. Serving size and price could be improved, though.

The place was spacious and looked clean. Servers were friendly and attended to my needs hastily.

CPK is a bit of a rarity now, but it can still bring the goods. Tried their shrimp poppers pizza and it was excellent, the chicken salad was okay, could use more lettuce. I feel like I'd enjoy the Chinese chicken salad more. Generally the food is still good in CPK, the prices are a bit high, but it can still give you a dependable meal.

Margherita pizza's marina sauce is too sweet like it has been mixed with BBQ sauce. Dough is too sweet like sugar and sweetener have been added. Dough also always undercooked and soft, and too much flour coating underneath. Pasta dishes are usually good but coated in oil (not olive oil).

I don't go here for pizza, but rather salads and pasta. I'm not saying their pizzas ain't good, it's just that I have my preferred pizzeria. Anyway, I often go here to have their BBQ chicken chop salad. I even recommended it to some of my friends and never failed to hear "it's really good" from each one of them. More often than not, my table is always served starting with the spinach artichoke dip, followed by the salad and pesto creme penne. If I go for pizza it's either BBQ chicken pizza or pepperoni.
If you guys happened to pass by their Shangri-la branch and would like to gobble some of my faves here let me know and maybe we could hang.

We got our meal started on the right foot. Freshness ruled with the Grilled Shrimp, Strawberry and Goat Cheese (PhP 550). The combination of strawberries, peas, mixed greens, almond flakes and goat cheese tossed in homemade honey Dijon vinaigrette is a home run in creativity, taste (briny + sweet), and execution.

Dips Sampler (PhP 375) had a stellar presentation with bacon crack, zesty corn, and tzatziki cucumber and pita, flatbread and white tortilla chips in one large plate. My fave? It’s hands down, the tzatziki cucumber. The rich flavor and creaminess were mostly present. There’s something oddly addicting about tangy-thick yogurt, crunchy grated cucumber, olive oil, garlic and aromatic fresh mint put together.

Among their new pizza creations, we tried the Grilled Chicken Chipotle and Avocado (PhP 475). We’ve never been a believer in avocado slices on pizza until this one. It was really good! Toppings consisted of grilled chicken, Monterey Jack, Queso Quesadilla with housemade roasted corn, black bean chipotle salsa, avocado, jalapeno, cilantro and lime crema. The salsa and jalapenos round out a true nod to nachos in festive pizza form. This is the kind of fusion we could get used to.

If you’re craving Mexican, you’ll also be enthused to get the Cali-mex Chicken Salsa. Served with grilled chicken and topped with housemade chipotle salsa and jalapeno, this rice entrée was supposed to come with rice. But instead of getting regular rice, we chose to upgrade to quinoa (additional charge: PhP 45), riding on the bandwagon of health consciousness in today’s culture. Ahem. 😛 Every texture, spice and flavor simply worked. Blue corn tortilla cheese and lime crema made the dish even more fantastic.

The sautéed shrimps in Sweet Flame Shrimp (PhP 385) were succulent, the mango-cucumber salsa packed sweet and spicy flavors cohesively, and the fresh cilantro gave the dish an oomph. Yummy!

We knew we just couldn’t go wrong with Chicken and Sausage Fajita Pasta (PhP 495). For those who like it hot, this pasta made with smoked sausage, grilled chicken, tri-color peppers and jalapeno with spinach, fettucine and roasted garlic cream sauce is sure to please.

For beverages, there’s a large selection of shakes, milkshakes, and smoothies. For those looking for tasty booze, CPK also offers alcoholic drinks. Wines are available by the glass and by the bottle. Sangrias, margarita, spirited cocktails, mojitos, and shots can seal the deal. We tried the Avocado-Banana Smoothie (PhP 225) and Cheesecake with Oreo Cookies Milkshake and liked them both. Count the calories later.

Butter cakes to me seem like a blank canvas begging to be painted and drizzled with fruits and a dollop of cream. With lemon zest, CPK’s Lemon Butter Cake (PhP 325) came out good and moist enough. Unlike some other cakes, this one didn’t go to mush. It was served warm with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream. Again, count the calories later! :)

Topped with blueberry compote, the Blueberry-Oreo Cheesecake (PhP 275) consisted of cheesecake in a crust made with real Oreo cookies. Each bite was a burst of sweetness that can’t be beat. It’s delightful, a must-order for those who have a sweet tooth.

We dined in for two on a busy Saturday evening, just two hours before closing time. Our last experience with CPK was in Mall of Asia, and it was lackluster. So all in all, we weren't expecting much -- just some decent pasta and pizza.

Instead, what we got was great food, and surprisingly great service. We ordered nacho fries, The Works pizza, a baked ziti dish (which I forgot the exact name of), and some wine. Everything was better than expected. The fries were decadent, with generous cheese and fresh salsa. The ziti was chewy and rich, and the pizza was as you'd expect from CPK.

But for me, it's the little things that count. Our server, Franz, treated us with respect, politeness, and prompt attention. Despite the full restaurant, she still had the awareness to ask us how our food was. She accommodated our request to separately pack our food for takeout, and even had the time to lightly banter with us.

Our total bill amounted to 1704 pesos, and we paid 1800. To my surprise, when she returned the receipt, I found my 100 pesos back -- they put the 4 pesos on the house. In the absolute sense, this was a very, very small thing, but for me, it was a very considerate gesture -- I've never experienced this kind of interaction in the many restaurants I've eaten in Manila.

My only caveat here is the place is overall pricey, so you could argue that this kind of food and service should be a given. There was also a review about being unable to reserve -- we don't have experience on that, so we can't comment. But that doesn't diminish the enjoyable and comfortable experience we had at CPK Shang -- so we'll be back! But not too often, because the prices really do hurt the wallet.

CPK will always represent the "California Vibe" in pizza with its fusion of flavors that reflects the Golden State.

You can never go wrong with any of their classics.

The Original BBQ Chicken Chopped never fails. The balanced flavors of the BBQ sauce and the creamy herb ranch dressing goes well with the crispy wontons, romaine lettuce and chicken.

The Steak Mushroom + Truffle Pizza has the great black truffle cream sauce and button mushrooms. The grilled steak slices were just a bit tough. Maybe thinner slices or better quality of beef.

As a source of comparison with another pizza place, we ordered the Kung Pao Spaghetti. The serving was too little for a sharing portion (for the price) and you do have to add chicken to it. The pasta was cooked al dente. But I think I like the other "yellow" pizza place's take on the Kung Pao Spaghetti.

One thing, try not to get the corner table that is on the blind side of the service staff unless you don't want to be noticed.

Normally, I'd say no to ordering any kind of pizza with pineapples in them, but this one is an exception. The pineapples they use doesn't come from a can, so even though I don't usually eat pineapples, I thought their combination of sweet pineapples and spicy pepperoni was a great treat to have any day!

The Garlic Chicken Pizza is topped with grilled, pulled chicken breast, Mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, yellow onions, and roasted garlic.

A lighter option is the Mixed Vegetarian Pizza which features a blend of red onions, green peppers, cherry tomatoes, jicama and sweet white corn.

The classic Traditional Cheese Pizza is a CPK favorite worldwide, most especially with kids. One can never go wrong with cheese pizza. I usually eat my pizza with ketchup, but this one doesn't even need it. It's perfect the way it is.

Staying true to its roots of California creativity, CPK reaffirms its legacy and brand promise of a culinary adventure with the recently concluded CPK Pizza Wars, its annual in-house Pizza Chef Competition. On National Pizza Day, everyone will have the chance to try the winning pizza this year – the Anchovies and Goat Cheese Pizza. Finally, quench your thirst with their fresh juices and combo shakes like the Mango Watermelon Shake and Fresh Peach Lemonade.

You cannot go wrong with spinach and artichoke. It's a great dish to keep you company while you're waiting your mains to arrive.

Moroccan - Spiced Chicken Salad (P395 / P625)
To be honest, I didn't like this very much because I'm not a fan of dates nor cranberries. Aside from that, it also contains roasted squash, avocado, chopped eggs, beets, and toasted almonds. Both my friends really liked it though - it's actually one of CPK's bestsellers :)

Salted Chocolate Cake with Caramel Sauce (P245)
Now this is my kind of dessert! It's dark chocolate cake slice sprinkled with Kosher salt and candied walnuts. I love that it wasn't too sweet, plus the added saltiness in every bite kept me wanting more.

Red Velvet Cookie Sundae (P125)
It's a simple dish served elegantly. The Red Velvet Cookie Sundae contains vanilla ice cream and chocolate fudge topped with whipped cream. Perfect to eat after a long and hot day out!

CPK continues to serve delicious food and drinks with amazing consistency and excellent service.

We had teamonade (earl grey and strawberry) which was absolutely refreshing and a chocolate banana milkshake. Followed by a very tasty tomato soup, original chicken BBQ pizza (yummy!) and baked chicken fettuccine. Loved the pizza the most - kinda first time the 2 of us wolfed down a whole regular pizza without stopping!

Service was very efficient and friendly.

We ordered the four cheese dip and caramelized onion, apples and gorgonzola pizza.

I love the dip and I would order it over and over again. The only problem was, you really have to consume it right away. The cheese gets clumpy when you let it sit and the flat bread gets super chewy to the point that it took me three minutes to completely break down the bread in my mouth.

The pizza concoction we ordered was surprisingly good. The sweetness of the caramelized onions paired with tangy apple slices is a good match. I would order this again.

Second review for what basically is my most favorite pizza company in Manila.

This time I tried their BBQ chicken, and oh my, oh my! I don't often praise outlets like these this much, but this was beyond words!

It was so perfect in taste when it arrived that I tried adding Parmesan and Tabasco to a slice of it, and its "original" taste was so much better, I had to stop.

I also took their ripe mango shake. It was delicious but I wouldn't take it again: it was so cold it gave me brain-freeze twice, which I am not a big fan of. I thought a shake meant mango and milk and banana, but this kind of shake is ripe mango with crushed ice. The taste was good though, so I won't subtract points because of this.

Final verdict: two thumbs up! I will repeat, and I consider myself a fan of their delicious Pizza. Will try new flavors next time as well.

When bonding with my nephew, I usually take him to California Pizza Kitchen. Besides the fact that the place is really family friendly, I really like the service here and they way the servers are with my nephew as he can be a handful at times. He loves their mozarella sticks and their barbecue chicken pizza. And we most certainly jize on this as these are my favorite dishes as well. We always end up having a good time here.

CPK is all about comfort food and a more western take on the classic Italian dishes. There are so many plates I enjoy in this restaurant and it's hard to even narrow down to 5, so I'm going to list them down and you're all going to have and give them a shot because these are sure to drive you in a hardcore food coma.
1) Fried Mozzarella Sticks
2) Mushroom Truffle Soup
3) Thai Crunch Salad ( guys, I NEVER eat salad but this is phenomenal)
4) Baked Penne Florentine
5) Tomato Soup

* I am betting there are more in the menu that will increase your love and attachment for this modernized western-Italian restaurant, simply because comfort food is comfort indeed.

One of my wife and daughter's pizza places. A bit pricier than other restaurants we frequent, but well worth the money. Their menu is not limited to pizza and pasta, they do have good salads particularly their BBQ chicken salad which is my favourite, good tasting kiddie meals and sandwiches to name a few.

At 500-700 pesos per head, it's worth the money, which is what makes us coming back.

Our last visit at CPK was specifically just to try their most recommended desserts, but this pizza place is always a good bet for some quality pizza and pasta offerings. Desserts we got were Molten Chocolate Lava Cake and Warm Butter Cake--both very delicious with good texture. The butter cake was a bit too filling for me though. Choosing the chocolate cake over the butter cake, but both are must-tries!

Almost been a fan of CPK ever since. My favorites include the Chicken Barbecue Chopped Salad and the Chicken Barbecue Pizza. To summarize, the barbecue is awesome. Tried today their two best selling desserts, warm butter cake that I had to trust and their Chocoate Molten Cake. Must visit!

My personal favorites are the Thai Crunch Salad and the Five cheese with tomato pizza... CPK is also spacious and customers are actually given some space to talk to each other without over hearing the other table... The resto is also kid-friendly since everytime we dine here, we can see kids play and even talk to the servers...

I personally prefer Grilled Veggie and Goat Cheese Pizza with fresh Arugula on top. It gives off that unique bitter-sweet flavor of pizza. I love that you can finish the whole pizza and enjoy the degustation without getting too full.

What I love about CPK is the quality of their food. From the presentation, the aroma, the taste, every thing is top notch. CPK was my introduction to what fine, quality food really tasted like. The prices are a bit steep but it is definitely worth every centavo.

Visited this restaurant recently and ordered the Garlic Cream Fettucine with add ons of chicken and shirmp. Like the fact that the meal was prepared well and tasted good. Now I have a new favorite dish other than their Original BBQ Pizza. Place is still nice and stylish and good enough to come back to.
