We had our dessert, tea and coffee here. Sad that this MECQ per glass wines are not available but totally understandable. The crews are very nice, responsive and my request was easily granted. Will definitely come back here again and hoping I can try their wines.
One of the best restaurants I've been so far. The ambience was perfect if you are planning to dine with your special someone. The staff was very attentive and polite to their customers. And the food was great! The portions of the dish were huge (at least for us) and we were so full after our meal. My girlfriend loved the dark chocolate lava cake (don't worry I did too). One thing we could suggest though is if table napkins could be available each table; that would be great to protect our woman's dresses from chocolate stains! But all in all, it was a great experience. Will definitely come back and recommend!
love the selection of wine
Thank you for reminding me my credit card, I was a bit tipsy I left it at my table ❤️
If you think their wide selection of wines are the reason you’ll come back to Planet Grapes, wait ‘till you’ve tried their superb food!
We celebrated my sister’s birthday here with our mom and we surely were impressed by the service, soothing ambiance, and scrumptious meal.
We ordered the Beef Shank Caldereta -so sinfully good which you have to pair it with the Adobo Rice! My sister got the Spaghettini and Meatballs -amazing and pasta al dente as well.
We paired all these with glasses of Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. 👌 Thanks to Zomato gold 2+2 on drinks.
It’s reasonably priced since the serving sizes are really huge. We’ll definitely be back with family and friends to try other wine and food selections.
Good selection of wine and helpful staff. The zomato gold 2+2 truly makes it worth it to drink here. Conducive for heart to heart talks with friends, made even better with wine and good food! 🍷
Okay, I'm still learning the ropes of wine tasting. I know for a fact that there lies an intricate, complex but illustrious and grand art kingdom of fine winery (that seems exaggerated, nonetheless). I came in Planet Grapes not exactly of wines but I've heard they serve a great deal of quality food. Nevertheless I proceeded with an alibi on the go-my old high school friend who happens to be in town for a short time since he's visiting Taiwan for a while then he'll be staying for a week or two in Manila before returning to our province.
I really miss this particular friend because we had quite the history before. Anyway, I volunteered to be the host, and what more I could treat someone around my workplace? Food! I've been eyeing Planet Grapes for a while, and given the positive reviews I'll have to give it a go. Finally it's happening.
Right of the bat, the ambiance is pretty sophisticated. Dimly lit, quiet with a bit of soft music on the background and very clean. I love how the lights' ensemble go with the ceiling's art. It just sings "we work well together". Quickly there's a lady who will greet you with the usual "table for how many Sir?", flashing that eloquent smile and accommodating aura. I like it already. The second lady however is a bit over the top (haha), not exactly a complain, I just feel weird about it but anyway. I went in first and for a few minutes my friend arrived. I ordered for him so I went straight to the mains. I ordered for a Roast Chicken Dinner, Grilled Norweigan Salmon and their infamous Sapin-sapin, I'll get back to this later. I absolutely have no clue for wines, but their staff was glad to steer us through. My friend is quite acquainted with it so he told the lady that he's into something sweet and smooth with a fruity note. I have no idea what he is talking about but I just immediately preferred white wine while he got the red one. Also, I had the Zomato Gold privilege but I didn't avail it since I'm not yet that much into wines. My friend didn't want another glass. Albeit the lady suggested the wines we wanted per our preference, I wish they could have suggested something close to what was footnoted in the menu. You see, some of Planet Grapes' dishes are noted with certain type of wines that goes well with it. It just so happen that the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc weren't available during that time. I'm not personally sure how the wine fared well with our food but I did enjoy my white wine solely on its own. Don't even ask me how it fared with the Sapin-sapin, stop it! Speaking of Sapin-sapin, the dessert was really good. At first I was confused as to where the salted egg went, stupidly the Filipino dessert is already sitting on it.
Don't be fooled by Planet Grapes' almost out of this world dish selection given they specialize with wines that has an array of foreign origins. Most of their foods are sophisticated version of our own Filipino foods. You'll find dishes like Bicol Express, Gambas and Chorizo, Cheesde Fondue with Puto Calasiao, Chichcaron with Tinapa dip and more. The myriad of their desserts are mostly Filipino-based too. I loved the idea that foreign wines can go fuse their qualities with our original local foods.
If my switch for wines get turned on again I'll definitely visit this place once more. I'm also curious with their other foods too. The Roast Chicken was okay, not exactly the best I've tasted. My friend did like the Salmon though.
Overall I'll give it a 4/5.
Wine without the drama indeed. Love their affordable wine collection. In terms of accommodation, the waiters are very friendly and alert. Small plates though are a bit expensive. Just come here for the wine really. :)
Another great place to relax! Wines are reasonably priced when compared to other places. Food choices was simple but good enough. My favorite among of all the items we ordered was the sapin sapin with salted egg sauce! Will definitely be back in the next few weeks.
The wide selection of wine is enough reason to come back! So much more to try. Visited this place while the malls are about to close, it wasn’t jam packed as I expected which is good considering it was a weekend.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating. My date ordered his steak well done but it was served medium. The manager and chef went to our table, frantically apologized, and offered us alternatives. Good customer service and the wine selection is varied. I want to come back next time to try more food and wine.
If you love wine, planet grapes is a nice place to go. They offer white and red wine which is in reasonable price. They also have the pasta in red and white. I love the cream sauce pasta

Had a great time with friends on a Friday night in Planet Grapes. The food was awesome and have generous servings. Wasn’t able to taste the wine but my friends did using the 2+2 Drinks on my Zomato Gold. I bet it was that good because they bought a bottle after their 1st round of glasses 😁 perfect for date nights too! Def going back 🥰
Being conservative with the 4 stars here (there should really be 0.5 star rating increments). I love the simple elegant interiors and the ambience it produces. We stayed in the upstairs area which I think would generally be more intimate except when the place gets filled. The menu guides you through ideal wine pairings, which is helpful in getting you a complete experience. I got the pork chops with some Pinot Noir. Also decided to have some Mexican style corn (think a shaved Elote baked in a ramekin) on the side. That was superb. I also hear good things about the Filipino street food.
I went here with friends for a celebration. The friendly staff has seated us to our preferred table, and she is kind enough to explain all the differences between the wines. We also ordered sisig which is superb.
Their wines are good and we love swirling the alcohol around the rim of the tall glasses, for fun... but I think I have already been tipsy during that time. I went up to go to the restroom, in which I am very amused because the curtain to the toilet lobby is made up of chain mail.
Great service - Servers were courteous and quick to attend to our concerns. Limited wine choices. But they had an interesting twist on Filipino desserts.
Since it is our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, my husband chose a special place for our post-V Day date. I am happy that he chose Planet Grapes 😊
We were the only customers when we arrived and during our stay, only two other groups came and dined at the resto.
Everything we ordered were very delectable. Serving size of the main dishes is good enough for 2 persons that we still had some left-overs for take out. The server who attended to us was very efficient. The ambience was comfortable and casual. Though it has a wall full of bottles of wine and wine glasses, it was not intimidating.
We will definitely come back and try suggested wine pairings. 🍷🥂🍽
We are a group of 5. We ordered their ribs, chicken, pork chop, salmon, and kaldereta plus flavored rice: chorizo, salted eggs and adobo. We also ordered their sisig and cheese platter for appetizers. The portions are all good for sharing. We tasted their wine: red and white. Everything was superb! The ambiance was also great!

How romantic is it to have a pair of wine glass served in your table? And then you crave for more like pulutan offered in a fine dining style. That is definitely what Planet Grapes has to offer. I was grateful ZGold subscribers are much to enjoy with the Buy 2 drinks and the next 2 drinks are likely to be waived and charged to Zomato.
I like their ambiance and food service! A nice place for tita night! They also have wine classes you can attend! A fun way to taste different variants
planet grapes offers a great selection of wines. their cheese platter is perfect for their wines. if you wanna just chill after a hectic workday then this place is for you. although it is frequented by some noisy customers, the overall ambiance is tolerably nice and generally peace and quiet. their staffs are very cheerful and helpful in giving reccommendstions.
Love, love, love this place! It was my first time to experience their choice wines and I am so glad I did. The servers were particularly impressive; they could actually pass for sommeliers in training! 🤙
When it comes to food and the lessons I can learn from it, I'm all ears and palate.
That is why when an invitation to attend a wine pairing class at Planet Grapes came my way, I had to be there.
Great place to have wine night with your friends or date night with someone special. Staff will help you choose which wine will best suit your preference so you don't waste your money. Food is okay but not enough choices.
Quick and friendly service. Love their riesling and sand point chardonnay. Roast chicken dinner was really tasty and good too. aircon is ridiculously cold inside though so we usually opt to stay outside
Great place for some alone time or a catchup date (but keep your voice down). Their sisig is always a good idea but this chicken bowl is also pretty good since the meat is tender and juicy. They have diff rice options like salted egg and adobo and others, but my fave so far is their adobo rice.
Food is amazing. Must order their osso buco, BBSM (Bagnet, Bagoong, Singkamas, Mangga) and salpicao :)
Good choices of wine especially the Thorle Riesling if you are more on the sweet side.
We really enjoyed their bbq ribs, meat was very tender and fall off the bones type. Good sauce. They recommended pinot gris, good pairing. Street food platter is also good — love the chicken skin. The chicken and tenderloin salpicao skewers werent as remarkable as the adobo rice which we also loved.

We were looking for a place to have dinner and most cafe were already closed for the day. Tbh this place didn't look inviting enough but we went ahead. I ordered the Adobo rice (not pictured) and it was really good; I loved it! The staff was very courteous and prompt. They took care of our special requests too. Would definitely come back. (Lack of pictures here because phone was about to die plus really hungry 😅)
I celebrated my 24th birthday at Planet Grapes. My officemate said that this is the best place to have romantic date. And, this restau did not fail us.
The place is so cozy and romantic. I love the smell of the place. I notice na pang mayaman talaga yung place. Dahil na rin sa location, customers and food menu.
We ordered
🍖 Bbq ribs
🍗 Roast chicken dinner
🍷 White wine
🍰 Chocolate collusion
Must try!!!! Lahat ng inorder namin. I love the chicken especially its sauce super sarap. Napakanin kami. Super lambot din ng ribs and saucey which my boyfriend really love. The waiter told us na red wine ang perfect partner ng meal namin though I insist na white wine lang. Masarap pa din. And since it's my birthday, they surprised me with chocolate cake and icecream and candles on top. So sweet!
Though medyo pricey but worth it naman since it is my birthday.
Staffs are very accommodating
Love the ambiance
Must try foods
Kaldereta tastes good and good for 2 to 3 pax. Grilled chicken has big servings but nothing special. Cheese platter is overpriced. Wine recomm is good. Dined here a couple times. Good place for a quiet laid back friday night date. Good interiors. Waiters were attentive.
How do I start this hmm
First ambiance, lights are slighty dimed, don't get me wrong it's not a bad thing coz it adds up to the romantic vibes of the place, perfect for the candle lit dinner vibes, the music are jazzy but not to old which I really like, you can see the wine selection it is displayed and there is a see through mirror that you can see the chefs cooking your food which can really hyped up your expectation for the food. Score: 4.5
Food: we ordered Potato chips with parmesan,Grilled pork chop for the main, mashed potatoes and rice for sides,Pinot noir for the wine, and Chocolate collision for dessert. The Potato chips with parmesan is superb it's like a marriage of the Potatoes and Parmesan cheese for others it can be a bit salty but for me it so good.
The Grilled pork chop, well I was really expecting a typical pork chop with veggies. but oh boy this piece of pork is grilled to perfection its tender, juicy and its flavorful, the veggies on the side is also flavorful its not your typically blanched bland veggies. The side dishes, well the rice, I'm a rice person and I think majority of us like rice, its great, the mashed potatoes it can stand alone, the flavor was there. Its creamy and flavorful but not overpowering when paired to the grilled pork chop. The Pinot Noir this wine is the suggested wine partner for the main dish, its dry in your mouth with a distinct fragrance in to it. It really compliments the juiciness and the flavor of the grilled meat you can choose to have a half/full glass of the wine or even a bottle of it. The chocolate collision, oh my this dessert is heavenly, the contrast on the consistency of the vanilla sherbet on top and the chocolate lava cake is chewy on the outside and super moist in the inside.
Score: 4.5
Service: the staff was accommodating and welcoming, in ordering you can ask them for the wine and food pairing they will explain to you the taste of the wine what wine can you pair to your food if you don't want to have the recommended wine on the menu. They really know their stuff. They really lived up to their motto wine without drama
Score 4.5
I really recommend this to those who are fond of wines or just want to taste or experience the wonders of wine. Yes the food was somewhat expensive but I assure you its worth it up to the cent.
It's my first time in here and i'll be giving it a 4 star cos why not? The place was very nice, cool ambiance plus they do have a live band (singer & guitarist) which made us enjoy while eating our food. We had a sumptuous dinner. The food was really satisfying starting from the appetizer up to our main dish. We also tried their wine (canepa famiglia reserva) coz it's recommended to try their wine. 😋
I like planet grapes for their very casual wine experience. Food is good, very tasty. My favorite is still will have to be the gambas. The sapin sapin is very interesting. Needs more sauce.
Location is suitable for any occassion. It has a relaxed ambiance, accomodating staff, great food, and conveniently accessible. It was indeed a nice visit. :)
P.S. Their life-size wine rack is a must see..

📌Ambiance: 4️⃣.5️⃣
Candlelit dinner with fine wines lining the walls? Yes please! Plus, lo and behold, a resto singer who can actually sing. When I see a stage in a resto, I usually cringe and dread what's coming. Both me and my boyfriend are sensitive to loud noises. But the duo played 90s love songs with so much finesse that I even liked it. Too bad it regressed to loud (albeit skillful) OPM belting later on (so many good OPM out there, WHY THIS). No one else seemed to mind as all other tables were already drinking.
I guess that aircon is meant to be cold enough to give boyfriends an excuse to put their jacket (and arm) on their ladies 🤣
📌Food: 4️⃣
We enjoyed both the Chorizo Burger and Chicken Kebab, with Chocolate Collusion to finish. The burger seemed like a 1/3 pounder at least, with fresh raspberry vinaigrette salad to match. I did not regret choosing it over chips at all. The kebabs did not have a very spicy or strong Korean flavor despite what the menu implies, which makes it palatable to many if not a bit forgettable. The dessert was small but so fudgy and chocolatey that it satisfied both of us. I wish it had a deeper and more bitter chocolate base though, it was a tad too sweet.
📌Service: 5️⃣
Accommodating without being prying. Good visibility and fast response. This is a well oiled machine. Did I mention their female servers could double as models? I almost wanted to ask about their makeup tricks. Equal parts friendliness and class.
📌Value for money: 4️⃣
Anniversary worthy for price conscious couples. They also have a Booky promo as of the moment.

I enjoyed the cozy and not so crowded place of Planet Grapes, which is located at the other side of Shangri-La Mall.
It’s a Rosè kind of night, a bottle costs less than 1k.. Not bad for 3 pax. Since we’re full, we had Gambas and Chorizo (P450) perfect!
Verdict: I will definitely go back. Its a perfect place to catch up with friends. Price is reasonable plus a nice ambiance. Servers are very helpful in recommending which wine is good as well as the food served.
Planet Grapes has 2 branches and we spent our anniversary in Ortigas, exactly located in North wing of Shangri-la Plaza.
My husband and I were dissapointed cause as we have read in some reviews, they offer a cellar private dining. I was just expecting some quite romantic date night, since it was a month of february, unfortunately we didn’t experience it, I don’t know whats the reason behind it.
Anyways..
Luckily their food were superb! The mashed potato was delight. The steak is good and i think it’s by far the affordable steak i had.
We tried the dinner menu for lunch. Winners> Kaldereta, Spareribs, Porkchops and Squidballs In curry sauce! ‘Perfect pairing with our Stanley Merlot!
We’re looking for wine and cheese and found this place, I think this was Watering Hole pub before If Im nit mistaken,
Creative concept, Filipino favorites with wine 😊, The Caldereta was really good, ambiance was great and customer service was exceptional.
When it’s 3pm on a saturdate and you’re not yet that hungry or just waiting for your movies to start, this place is perfect! A bit pricey but their cheese platter will definitely give you a quick start and just simply top it off with a couple of glasses of whites. ✌🏻
Located at the North Parking Building of Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Planet Grapes is a great secluded watering hole for yuppies while they wait for the busy Metro traffic to calm down. Through the graciousness of Planet Grapes, i received an invite to attend a guided wine tasting event hosted by Anthony Budd, Managing Director of Diverse Flavours, South Africa. It was an intimate gathering over exquisite South Africa reds. We had a tasting of four wines paired (to a tee!) with delicious Filipino food. I like most the salpicao and Chorizo de Cebu pairings the most! It matched well with the fruity and at times earthy tones of the wine. It was an eye opening event in the company of wine enthusiasts. It was a pleasure to learn from the experts through a class (sort of) set up. We were provided a pen and a notebook to write down our thoughts and the nuggets of wisdom from Anthony. Watch out for more Guided Tasting events throughout the year. Follow Planet Grapes on FB and Instagram for details.

Overall experience was great. You should try their version of sapin sapin, it's creamy and tickles your sweet tooth. I'll definitely comeback and try other meals in the menu. :)
Uncomplicated, unintimidating food. Pairing Filipino dishes with wine is a cool concept. Accomodating service staff. The food arrived fast..

Planet Grapes at Shangri-la Plaza is an ideal place to eat, chill and drink over a good selection of wines and gourmet street food. Servers were exceptional. They really know their wines and they were good in providing excellent service. We tried their Sotong Goreng, a sweet soy glazed crispy baby squid with Asian herbs, which was good as well paired with Fashion Rosé wine. I'll be back to try their other dishes in the menu.
Twas my 2nd time at Planet Grapes and it still hasn't lost its appeal. My boyfriend and I went here to catch up with a friend, and boy it was the perfect place to just chat and look back at the last 10 years of your life! You won't even notice that you are already down to the last bit of chicharon and your last drop of wine. I love this place!
Had a reservation here for a special date night. Lucky us, there was an acoustic event that evening! We enjoyed their food servings as it blended perfectly with their wine pairings.
We had Spaghettini with Gorgonzola cream sauce, Street food platter and tried their Sisig. I loved how creamy the pasta was! (a bit of bacon wouldn't hurt thou 😂) The street food platter was a splurge imo, for a price of 395. It was alright for me. The sisig was nice and crunchy and went great with the Salted egg chorizo rice.
Servers are really attentive and knows their wine collection quite well. I didn't know that some of their menu items are unavailable for dinner (well, since I checked beforehand in Zomato). But a big thanks since they served it for me, nonetheless. Too bad there isn't a happy hour for everyday though! Will definitely be coming back for another date night! 🍷
A good place to hangout after work or to hangout during weekends. Ambience is nice and the place has a patio area as well for the al fresco feel. Good selection of wines and if you're unsure, they'd be glad to assist you with the right pairings or give you suggestions.
My friends and I had had a bottle of Rose and the Antipasto Platter that already has a variety of cured meats and cheeses to sample with some grapes and baguette.
Also, the service is good.
Perfect place for a chill, romantic date night.
The prices are on the expensive side, but the quality of the food doesn't disappoint. Their steak is so good, it became one of my cravings after our first dining experience there. They also have a good selections of wines. We enjoyed the red wine we paired with the steak and ended up taking home another bottle from their sparkling wine selections.
Was inquisitive to try the street food meets wine concept and absolutely loved it! We had Chicken BBQ Skewers (Php 230), Beef Shank Caldereta (Php 645), Chorizo & Salted Egg Fried Rice (Php 75), Garlic Rice (Php 50) and a bottle of Merlot. I tried salted egg rice for the first time and it was delish! Would highly recommend it. Also loved the beef shank - it was cooked perfectly to the fall-off-the-bones consistency. Prompt and impeccable service. Thanks to Monique for making our meal more melodious with her songs. Would highly recommend this place when you are in the mood to splurge or maybe create an impression on your date ;)
*here for wine*
This place is great for after dinner drinks. They have live music that still allows you to enjoy conversations.
The place (and my company) was so enjoyable I wasn't able to take photos of all the food and wine we ordered.
Must try: grilled Norwegian salmon; with wine: chicharon with tinapa dip. Honestly though, the small plates are too expensive for what it is--the chicharon, squidballs, and gambas & chorizo.
Their menus are now on ipads! Their lunch menu is different from dinner; check out their website for the most updated menus.
I give service a 5! The servers are very attentive, efficient and polite.
*to men especially: if you're looking for hard drinks, they don't offer any.
All the wine and none of the snobbery that usually comes with it.
At Planet Grapes, you can order wine by the glass and it’s so high-tech. They have this computerized dispenser which can release 38ml, 75ml, or 125ml of your preferred wine. I think this is what sets them apart from most wine places.
Hubby had one 38ml serving of red wine. Don’t ask me what kind — I wasn’t paying attention. I have zero interest in wines because I’m allergic to alcohol. You can order wine for like P100+ per serving, as they have an entire menu devoted to wine.
We ordered Potato Chips with Truffle to start us off. Crunchy and flavorful, it left us craving for even more food!
Our daughter opted for the Beef Tenderloin Tapa. She wolfed it down as soon as it was served and couldn’t stop raving about it. Hubby and I were impressed by the quality of the beef — really tender and lean. It tasted a bit like the classic Pinoy Bistek except that it was a lot more garlicky (which is a positive point for me!).
We also shared a Rib-Eye Steak. We got to choose a side dish to go with it and we picked Fresh Mixed Salad. We were pretty content with the steak. It wasn’t exceptional but it was okay.
We split a Planet Grapes Chorizo Burger as well. Hubby loved this one. It was very tasty albeit I felt the patty was a bit burnt (kinda bitter in some parts). It would be even better if the patty was evenly cooked to the correct doneness. There’s a whole fried egg in the middle of the burger.
We had dessert too, Leche Flan if I'm not mistaken. It was very creamy and nice.
All in all, we enjoyed our relaxing dinner at Planet Grapes. The place looks expensive but the prices are actually quite reasonable. Food is okay, service is good, and it’s very peaceful. You can talk to your dinner companions without having to compete with any noise. They have fast free wifi internet too. It’s a really great place to chill, and an unpretentious place to have wine.
I’m a fan of Planet of the Apes and that’s probably why I’m so curious with Planet Grapes. I find it to be such a witty name and I’m a sucker for anything witty.
Hello, Planet Grapes!
It has been months since I discovered this place but the Alabang branch was a bit too far for me so I never had a chance to visit. But food gods love me so much that Planet Grapes’ newest branch is just a few blocks away from me—Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
Wine without the drama.
Planet Grapes somehow has a classy yet warm ambiance. The dishes too aren’t priced that steep though some dishes are slightly on the expensive side. We got the following: Kitayama Rib eye Steak (PHP1,195), Grilled Trio Prawns (PHP495) and PG Super Sisig (PHP210). For wine, we got Baby Bad Boy 2010 (PHP280 for 125 ml | PHP180 for 75 ml | PHP95 for 38 ml) and Pircas Negras Torrontes (PHP235 for 125 ml | PHP150 for 75 ml | PHP80 for 38 ml).
Excellent service and the food here are comfort fares with interesting twists. The sisig is very tasty and crunchy and my mother loved their adobo flakes.

Diverse stock of wine, and food is superb. Ambiance is also excellent -- just the right balance of music and buzz -- plus it has a friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely come back.
Finally—a restaurant where I can try sips or a half-glass of wine at affordable prices. Food presentation and quality were good. The grilled chorizo, glazed with sweet BBQ sauce, was sumptuous; the tender chicken skewers went well with its zesty lemon marinate; and the spaghetti meatballs had a rich tomato sauce and slick pasta. I suggest ordering the lechon kawali with adobo rice for a delicious combination.
I actually couldnt think of anything wrong with this place. I'm not very good with wine, and dont drink it that often so I barely know anything about it. Good thing the staff was able to recommend good pairings with our dish. Also, the menu suggests what drink will go well for each order.
We got Gambas and Chorizo, streetfood platter, pork belly, and pork ribs. If i were to change anything, id probably not get the ribs and just order chicken since it tastes just pike the pork belly. BUT the ribs was superb. I literally was just running my knife through it, like it was nothing 👌🏻👍🏻👊🏻 galing ng cooks. Good job!
Everything we ordered was spot on:
Chicharon with tinapa dip- must try
Tenderloin salpicao- b!!
Mashed potatoes- !!
Chicken barbecue- !!
Paired perfectly with Bad boy 2010 and Pinot Noir.
Will definitely come back to try the other dishes and wines! The servers were also very helpful and knowledgable about the wine. Thanks Planet Grapes, see you soon!

with their servers and you’ll learn that Planet Grapes actually wants to bring wine closer to everyone taste buds, especially in a beer country like ours. Planet Grapes is known for non-traditional food and wine pairings, from their Classic Chicharon - Sauvignon Blanc combo, to their holiday offering of Porchetta - Pinot Noir combo. I recently got to try the 2016 Holiday Menu: a completely customizable set ranging from Php 1,200 to Php 1,800 per head, and is available for preorder until the end of January 2017.
Food is awesome and always finds a perfect pairing with the wide selection of wines from all over the planet. Start by tasting wines by the glass and ask the expert Wine Associates for the must-taste pairing recommendations. 😋❤️🍷🍇
Planet Grapes, as the name suggests, is a cozy wine bar that celebrates good food paired with an selection of carefully curated wine from premium vineyards around the world. That might make Planet Grapes sound like a place only wine snobs would visit, but believe me when I say that's totally not the case. The restaurant takes pride in welcoming wine lovers regardless of familiarity - they don't judge how you like to drink your wine.
Of course, Planet Grapes would be more than happy to recommend classic wine pairings - such as a Porchetta and a light red wine (i.e. Intrepid Awatere Valley Pinot Nior) - if you ask them for suggestions. But if you'd like to pair everything with a sweet glass of white wine you should comfortable do so.
There aren’t nearly enough wine bars or libraries to go around. Planet Grapes, at the corner facing Shangri-la Plaza Mall’s north parking lot, is worth a stop. It’s got a wine selection that extends beyond the usual, regular food, and street food.
Classic chicharon and truffled potato chips are fearlessly paired with their wine, on display on shelves all around the two-level restaurant. For Christmas, they serve lemongrass-scented boneless lechon with sauce, and Filipino-centric paellas. Try their chorizo-garlic longganisa paella, which is halfway between bringhe and paella. The paella negra, strewn nicely with seafood and giant lemon slices, is just as good (or better, if you like squid ink).
I’m worried that their sous vide chicken overpromises and underdelivers, especially at its price. After the sous vide, it was roasted to achieve a level of browning, but not evenly so, especially underneath. The flavors were too muted for some to maybe think they were there.
That said, the Christmas menu stands on its own - and wine you must have.
We had a Vignoble Sauvignon Blanc to help cut the fatty flavor of lechon, a medium red for the paellas, and a suprisingly good Riesling pairing with phyllo wrapped banana-ube turon with langka sauce. This dessert is tops. The Riesling and turon alone are worth the visit. If turon isn’t your thing, pre-order their bibingka before your dinner is over, as they make limited batches for Christmas.
Planet Grapes and Zomato graciously hosted my dinner and ticket to a viewing of Star Wars: Rogue One. Thank you, thank you.
I’m a fan of Planet of the Apes and that’s probably why I’m so curious with Planet Grapes. I find it to be such a witty name and I’m a sucker for anything witty.

For wine, we got Baby Bad Boy 2010 (PHP280 for 125 ml | PHP180 for 75 ml | PHP95 for 38 ml) and Pircas Negras Torrontes (PHP235 for 125 ml | PHP150 for 75 ml | PHP80 for 38 ml).
Had a great time here! The staff were attentive and helpful with the menu. We're not regular wine drinkers so it was a nice experience to try different types of it via their enomatic wine selector.
Had potato chips with truffles, salpicao and ribs. Sad that the choco collision dessert wasn't available. So instead we had the creme brulee which was good.

Great selection of wine from all over the world! Their food ranges from fishballs to fine porchetta, that can be paired with anything and everything they serve. Food quality is excellent. Service is quick and efficient. The ambiance is sophisticated yet relaxed.
This could be one of your go to places after a late movie night at Shang mall. Everything inside closes at 9 but there are a number of restaurants still open for you and me outside.
The place warrants intimidation with its sophisticated and dark lit interiors. I am glad my sister and I stayed to find out that their price points are not as high as we thought it would. In fact for a light dinner with a glass of wine and dessert, we just got billed around a thousand pesos.
The street food meets wine concept worked for us. The idea is to welcome newbies in wine drinking a chance to enjoy it. They do these through half glass servings, affordable pricing and a wide variety of red and white wines. Sparkling is also available.
I did suggest to the wait staff to add alcohol levels in the wine list. I unknowingly picked a 14.5% one when I was hoping for a light companion. Nevertheless, the spirit and strong taste kept we up the whole time. I got the Lion Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2014. It had wild berries and blackcurrant.
The food served could use some tweaking. The seasonings on both of our orders were too much. We felt these with their Seafood Skewers and Chicken Barbecue (Korean style). The Adobo Rice though stood us for its flavor. It's good to munch by itself.
So we had time and space for dessert and opted for Filipino favorite, Turon. It's the highlight of our night and easily one of the best made versions I've tried. It came with puréed jackfruit that served at its additional sweet texturized sauce. It was well cooked and prepared with some crispiness on the outside.
The staff also gave me a tour of their cellar upstairs which was closed that evening. They do open it up on weekends as they expect more traffic vs weekdays.
Finally! I've heard this restaurant on The Morning Rush (TMR), a radio show in Monster RX 93.1, they described it to be a wonderful way to get to know wine and wine pairings. I haven't had the time to visit it but it was really worth the wait. The place was PERFECT FOR A DINNER DATE with your loved one. It was also my birthday that day so I really set my bar high for the experience. And to tell you frankly, IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. It had wonderful music, the ambiance was perfect and the food is divine. I ordered Tapa and the waitress assisted me in choosing a red wine, called Elephant Hill Pino Noir. It was perfect because it was light and fruity that complimented the tapa! My partner ordered BBQ Pork Ribs and the waitress again assisted him in choosing a red wine that was a little bit stronger compared to my wine. It was the best experience ever. I really enjoyed the my first WINE AND DINE EXPERIENCE! I TRULY RECOMMEND TRYING IT OUT!
Planet Grapes is a great little gem in Shangri-la Plaza Mall. It's nice for a classy hangout with friends or for a date night. They had very good selection of wines that can cater to both new wine drinkers and seasoned enthusiasts.
The menu selections of light tapas and small plates are fantastic for noshing while sampling their red and white wines. I greatly enjoyed their skewers, particularly the Chicken Isaw. It's simple and pairs well with the white wine. This place is great for dates, after work relax and unwind, or just to have some wine and cheese with a glass to ponder.
If you like good Filipino food, and you like wine, Planet Grapes has had the good sense of pairing them together, to great effect. Who knew that sisig, salpicao and adobo rice go great with a blend of Merlot? Well, they do, and they're more than willing to help you pick a good, fairly inexpensive wine (P850+ a bottle) to match your food. They will also never let your glass go empty, and provide great service in their classy Star Trek uniforms.
I was impressed when I first tried Planet Grapes, not just because of their food, but also because the staff's uniform reminded me of Star Trek! I guess it was a pleasant surprise for me because I expected the place to be totally posh, so having a touch of geekiness makes it even better! I also love how they managed to pair street food with wine! Definitely a nice place to chill! :)
Got some of their bestsellers in the menu. Starting off with Squid balls skewers with sweet and sour / vinegar dips, PG sisig, Chicharon with Tinapa Dip, and Potato chips for appetizers. Loved their chicharon, who wouldn't anyway? A twist in the dip.
Main entrees: Pork spareribs with adobo rice, organic porkchop with Chorizo rice and we tried their black burger Angus beef. Everything was delicious, each bursting with Asian-rich flavors. My personal pick---get their spareribs and adobo rice!
To cap the meal were choco collision, their sweet version of choco lava and suman with latik sauce. Both heavily!
Spanish Chorizo with hot pandesal - average
Tenderloin Salpicao skewer - garbage
BBQ pork spare ribs - amazing!
Adobo rice - amazing!
Chorizo & Salted Egg rice - above average
Appetizer was okay, the pandesal was really nice but the chorizo was probably local. Presentation was sh*t but the flavor was up to par with many of the upscale tapa places.
Mains - Tenderloin Salpicao skewers should NOT have been made into skewers. It had maybe 3 pieces of meat that were not cooked evenly and a bunch of mushroom and onions and bell pepper fillers - the front end was super tender, and the middle and last piece were tough, almost as if they didn't grill it evenly.
BBQ pork spare ribs were great. Meat was so tender and falling off of the bone. They may have low heat cooked this for hours a few days prior. Flavor was perfect and well balanced between BBQ flavor and the grill. It went well with the French beans and adobo rice.
Adobo rice had pork flakes on top which turned out to be just right when mixed in, I could almost eat it by itself. It wasn't salty or oily, just perfect.
Salted egg rice had almost no salted egg yolk crumbles. It had chunks of salted egg white, but maybe that's just their way of preparing it. It was just okay, but not what I expected when compared to other salted egg fried rice I've tried.
Planet Grapes is one hidden gem in the middle of Ortigas. Their new concept street food meets wine is a-mayzing to say the least. You get the wine story ambiance and enjoy the food at an even sweeter price point. I've tried their sizzling sisig, adobo set, seafood skewers and oatmeal cookies for dessert on their lunch specials and for dinner -- I forget what I ordered but I am sure I enjoyed it as I was engaged to my Cab Sauv. The wine selection on their enomatic machine is curated for the discerning and the wise. In wine there is truth! Bravo to a place so deserving of 5 stars.
If you haven’t noticed by now just by looking at the font, its name is a play on the movie titled “Planet of the Apes”. It is immediately followed by the slogan “Wine Without The Drama”. I laughed the first time I saw this when I visited the first branch in McKinley a year ago. As of late, a second branch has emerged in Shangri-la Plaza’s new wing, where one of my high school friends decided to host her birthday party.
Planet Grapes is currently one of the places I'm raving about.
We were looking for a Filipino restaurant for around 15 people. We also wanted to take out a few foreigners for dinner. I tried looking around. Based on Planet Grapes' ratings, I suggested them. I was happy everyone else agreed.
We went here on a Friday evening. I arrived a lot earlier and hung around first. I got to meet the manager. She was very nice and she conversed with me for a bit. They also didn't pressure me into ordering right away since they knew I was early and I was waiting for everyone else.
When everyone arrived we ordered. We were all VERY HAPPY with our food that we just had to pass our dishes around and let everyone else try it. This was my first time to experience a restaurant where everyone was happy with what they ordered.
My friend and I also purchased a reloadable card for the wine dispenser. We had a lot of fun trying different kinds of wine together with all the things we ordered.
My experience was so good in Planet Grapes that I went back 2 days after and had dinner here with my family. My family absolutely enjoyed their food too.
In 2 days, I got to try the following dishes: Chicharon with Tinapa Dip, PG Super Sisig, Chorizo Burger, Beef Tapa, Chicken BBQ, Chicken & Pork Adobo, Organic BBQ Pork Spare Ribs, Organic Pork Chop, Adobo Rice, and their Choco Collision.
The Chicharon with Tinapa Dip was very interesting. Who would have thought chicharon went well with a tinapa dip. It was a very good and new twist to your usual chicharon.
I enjoyed the Chorizo Burger as it was a very rich and flavorful chorizo patty. It was served with an egg too. I found it to be pretty filling as well.
The Chicken BBQ is not your ordinary Filipino-style bbq. It was a bit spicy but the heat was really good with it. I absolutely loved it with the Adobo Rice. The Adobo Rice on its own was absolutely delicious! I even have plans of going to Planet Grapes for Adobo Rice and Wine. Hahahaha!
If you want to share a dish, the Organic BBQ Pork Spare Ribs is a good choice. The meat was very tender and it practically fell off the bones. The sauce is rich and has a different impact from your normal bbq sauce. Not sure what they put in it but it's really good. We ordered this with Adobo Rice as well but it completely overpowered the rice. It pairs well with Garlic Rice.
The Choco Collision, their version of a choco lava cake, was good. Not too sweet and the gooey chocolate the oozes out was delicious. Each bite I took made me want more!
This place really left me raving about it. The food, the adventure of finding wine you like, the service, and the ambiance, all really gave me a very good experience of Planet Grapes.
I also absolutely love how they made use of wine bottles for their chandeliers, used the cork for their napkin holders, and the wine bottle bottoms for decor by their bar.
Planet Grapes made me appreciate wine much more than I ever have before, coming from someone who doesn't drink it often. I loved my tiger prawns and those truffled potato chips, but I wish there were more main course options.
Great wines, great dishes, great ambience and nice staff!! There are not so many bars or restaurants around EDSA Shangri-La but you can enjoy drinking here.
Had our class christmas dinner here. Chorizo & Salted Egg Rice is their best seller but I prefer their Adobo Rice together with their BBQ Pork Spare Ribs. If you're hungry, their spare ribs is only good for 2.
Don't forget the wine. Recommend their Napier Cabernet. They have a wine vending machine if you would like to try a glass before ordering a bottle.
As for their customer service it was excellent. We were served well. Didn't find any problem during our dinner.
Planet Grapes – Shangri-La Mall’s menu is focused around plates rooted in Filipino cuisine, but with some modern twists that kept us engaged and satisfied in our dining experience. To know more about the items on the menu, click here.
For starters, we had Chicharon with Tinapa Dip (PhP 215), PG Super Sisig (PhP 210) and Grilled Chorizo (PhP 135). All were indulging and maybe the type that you don’t want to eat in front of your boss as you’re sure to end up with a little bit of grease on your lips.
Chicharon with Tinapa Dip is one of the best-sellers and for good reason. It’s the familiar taste of crispy pork rinds cooked through an air fryer matched in heaven with salty smoked fish. The bold taste of smoked fish made this appetizer really sumptuous. It was nearly impossible to stop the “hand to mouth” action. Nom nom nom.
On a screaming-hot cast-iron pan, the Super Sisig entree was good but nothing out of the ordinary. I thought it’s tempting to eat it with rice, but it also tasted fine by itself.
The chunks of chorizo, on another plate, was pleasurable with nice pockets of firm pork fat. They were made just right, neither too sweet nor heavily spiced.
Our mains consisted of some grilled specialties: Organic BBQ Pork Spare Ribs (PhP 725, 450g), Organic Pork Chop (PhP 450), and Black Cod Steak (PhP 395) with our chosen sides: Grilled Parmesan Corn, Fresh Mixed Salad, Plain Rice.
BBQ pork ribs come to mind first when I think of “ribs.” Prepared and rubbed with a good mess of seasonings and smoked on the grill as we’ve seen in the kitchen, these organic bbq pork square ribs by Planet Grapes are a hit. The tender ribs stood out to me primarily with the barbecue sauce having a good blast of flavor.
Dry and chewy pork chops are a thing of the past. PG’s thick-cut organic pork chops were not too tough but also not too fork-tender. I thought eating them with apple sauce or pickled vegetables would be great, but that’s a story for another appetite.
Among the three, the black cod steak was my favorite. Wonderfully buttery, it was deeply seasoned and the result was completely irresistible. The rich white-flesh fish came with a moist, succulent texture.
To cap off our meal, we had Turon Trilogy (PhP 165) which reminded me of Napolones from Bacolod and Choco Collision (PhP 225) for desserts. With beautiful flaky crisp layer of skin on the exterior, Turon Trilogy was filled with three classic Filipino dessert delicacies: thinly sliced banana, purple yam (ube) and jackfruit (langka). It definitely scored high.
Planet Grapes’ Beef Tapa with Chorizo and Salted Egg Rice and Sunny Side Up Egg for Php375.00
One of the best tapa I have eaten. The waitress actually wanted me to get garlic rice but good thing I chose not to. Hahaha! The beef was cooked to perfection and the rice was a great compliment to the tapa.
Planet Grapes offers a wide range of wines AND also serves different wines by the glass that changes every three (3) weeks. They sell sip, half glass and full glass for those who want to try. Their motto “Wine Without The Drama” lives up through it’s choice of wines. Their wines can be paired with any of the food that they serve. Imagine, I had white with beef! My Papa would have raised his brow at me. But I enjoyed it. The place was great for begginers and our server, Jason, was informative.
They mostly sell new world wines and only have two old world wines.
Creme Brulee Sampler at 180php.
Durian, Original and Banana
Stop. The durian was great. I don’t like durian but I have eaten durian since pops and brother enjoy it. So after tasting the sampler I knew why they chose Durian. Durian fruit is naturally creamy so having it as a creme brulee was perfect. They were able to make it anti-durian friendly and the sweetness was just right.
I didn’t enjoy the banana. I felt like I needed Ice cream with it. Hahaha. But yes it seems that banana, for me, should stay with fondue, sundaes and loafs.
The original is what it is
I feel bad I wasn't able to take a photo of my food. Ordered the Organic Pork Chop and it was pure heaven! Tender, juicy, moist and perfectly grilled! I took time in eating it as I paired it with a glass of Bush Vine Pinotage 2012 from The Winery of Good Hope and even then hindi siya nagsebo and it maintained its juiciness. Perf!!! Coming back before Flight Fest ends.
This is my first time in Planet Grapes, and it was a great experience. Love the ambiance of this branch too.
