FOOD. A restaurant who serves spanish cuisine. I personally like the Paella Negra and the chorizo frito. Though not really a fan of the octopus. It's too chewy and no taste at all. The tomato seafood soup was good as well. A little bit pricey for their serving. Complimentary bread is always a plus plus. 😊

PLACE was ok. Not really a fan of dining while some people are drinking and doing shots. But I can say that the place is good for group of friends catching up. I like the bar too.

SERVICE was good. They were attentive and courteous. Food were written in spanish so they took their time explaining what dishes we pointed to. Well given how the big the service charge is. All in all good customer service. 👍🏼👍🏼

Paella Valenciana took a bit longer than the promised 20 minutes but it was worth the wait. Chorizo is great, just don't let it sit on its oil for too long as it becomes too salty. Callos was just OK.

All in all, food was a bit overpriced but tastewise, it's great

The Wobbly Pan Spanish Bistro is cozy, Tess, the attendant/staff was very pleasant, polite, courteous and very accommodating. I really enjoyed the tasty boneless milkfish marinated in Spanish herbs and spices, the sunny side-up egg garlic fried rice and the hot green tea. I had a very relaxing breakfast at Wobbly Pan. I will definitely come back here the next time I visit Manila again. Thank you Tess!

My partener and I recently had dinner here. We both enjoyed the food, the place, and the service.

We had the paella valenciana, pollo iberico, and callos. Everything tasted great and the service was excellent. Staff were friendly and very attentive.

I like that the area inside was small, which made our dinner more intimate.

Been curious about this for some time and I finally had the chance to visit😉 Here's what we had:

Paella Negra - delicious and not dry! Adequate seafood in it 💓

Chorizo Frito- crispy and so tasty😍 It comes with aioli to round off the saltiness, but so good even without it 💓

Iberian Chicken-garlicky and tender! 💓

Pulpo a la Gallega- Octopus on potato gratin, galicky with manchego cheese! A must try 💓

The attendants were courteous too. Ambiance was quiet and comfortable (we went in the afternoon)

A plus - they have tables and chairs outside if you'd like to take your furbabies with you 🎈🐶

I will be back to try the rest of their dishes 😍

Been seeing Wobbly Pan lined up with the other restos situated at the ground floor outside of  Shangri-la Mall. So when I was invited to have late lunch there for taste test, I immediately said YES! :D

What would I recommend here are the ff:

Tapas? Go for their Gamabas Al Ajillo, Pulpo A la Gallega and Croquetas de Calamar. :D

Paella's? Paella Valenciana and my favorite Paella Negra!!! :D

Servers were accommodating and friendly too!!! :DI highly recommend eating out in this place if you are in the area. :D

I craved for some Spanish cuisine!

Was able to try their paellas, and so far, they had the most outstanding paella's I had here in Metro Manila! (Yep, lemme just focus on their paellas first, lol)

The Paella Valenciana won me over, with the right amount of spice, tenderness of rice, seafood and ughhhh what more can I ask for?! And also, we had the Paella Negra-- it's unexpectedly good even if I expected it to taste like a dish with squid ink all over, but it's not! It has that aftertaste that makes you want more. As for the Paella Mechada, it's definitely mechado style but much classier than what I usually have (of course).

For the tapas, we had the Salpicao, Croquetas de Calamar, Gambas Al Ajillo, Chorizo Frito, and Pulpo A la Gallega. Best paired with their sangria! I really loved the Gambas (since I love shrimps) and also the pulpo-- my very first pulpo. The salpicao was savory as well, and I'm not fond of chorizos but I liked what they did to their Chorizo Frito. It was surprisingly good!

Would love to come back soon if I dropped by near Shang.

Inspired by its Spanish roots and colonial influences, Wobbly Pan offers traditional Spanish cuisines like tapas, wine selections, paella, and many more.

Wobbly Pan still brings the Spanish tradition in today's generation as their dishes are slow-cooked in hot cast iron skillets.

Service is excellent. They are accommodating. The ambiance is cozy. The place has nice interiors  reminding me of a mini wine cellar and a bar in one.

We got to try several tapas and paellas.
Chorizo Frito - Slices of homemade smoked chorizo with aioli dipping sauce. Taste is not overwhelming (compared to the other tapas) unless you put some aioli on it.

Beef Salpicao - beef tenderloin in olive oil topped with garlic and chili. It has a garlicky taste, and as a Pinoy, I'd like to pair it with some rice because it was savory somehow.

Gambas Al Ajillo - The gambas was tasty already. And you know, there's something with Wobbly Pan's combination of olive oil, chili, and garlic which makes me wanna use it in other dish or even with rice.

Pulpo a la Gallega - sizzling octopus with potato gratin , and manchego cheese topping. The potato has a melt-in-your-mouth consistency which blended well with cheese. This is my favorite.

Paella Negra - The squid ink taste was rich and not fishy! It was tasty and I can eat it alone even without other dishes to pair it with. The squid rings were soft. It became more flavorful when I extracted some lemon. One of my favorites.

We also tried the Canonigo which is a soft fluffy meringue cake drizzled with caramel sauce.

By the way, they have an acoustic night promo at 8:00PM every Thursdays and Fridays.
📍Unlimited Sangria for P599.00
📍Tapas Trio (Quezo Fundido with Tortilla Chips + Chorizo or Squid Ink Croquettas + Patatas Bravas) for P750.00 only.

Price range is on the higher side though I think it was reasonable. The dishes that we tried were good. Overall experience is excellent. Recommended!

Oct 2019 Update:
Back here again because craving for their tasty & delicious tapas... with rice! LOL. They’re no longer on the Eatigo discount app but luckily I found then on the Bookyapp for a ₱300 discount with a minimum of 1k bill. Excellent service from server, Bernie. Still as good as the last time, we ordered the Gambas Al Ajillo, Chorizo Frito, Pulpo A La Gallega, and 2 cups of steamed rice. Server Bernie thought though that since we ordered rice, we didn’t care for the bread hehe, but we do! Good thing I remembered to ask for the complimentary bread and butter that comes with the tapas we ordered. But he’s forgiven because he gave us extra butter haha. Everything was wiped out clean including the garlic, oil and sauces LOL. Although I didn’t drink, my companion did have a beer, you guys should check out their happy hour, acoustic nights and unli wine promos.

Original:
I’m giving this establishment a perfect score of 5 based on my 2 consecutive visits: yesterday as a guest at a foodie event and today I went back as a paying customer (not GC!).

Maybe I would have given it a 4 just because the prices are not exactly cheap but after comparing them with similar Spanish restaurants, their prices are actually reasonable. Also, they are currently on the Eatigo app which allowed me to reserve today with discount. (Note: Use my referral code “EatigoRia” if it’s your 1st time to register to get addtitional credits. The app is free to download as well as to use. I’ve been using it for years and got more value for my money when dining out because of the app.

On to the food: Based on my introduction, having said that I immediately went back the next day, it’s pretty obvious that I liked the food we sampled the previous day so much that I wanted some more and also let my companion try it and he agrees, the food is good! And if you are like us who love garlicky, spicy (although they can also tweak the level of spiciness to your preference), tasty and okay, oily, foods then you will probably like it here too so give it a try.

What I love most are the tapas!!! The exact same set of tapas that we were served during the event are the same ones I ordered again the next day (minus the croquetas). And aside from bread, I ordered 2 cups of white rice (I know Paella is their specialty, but we were only 2 pax and ordered 4 tapas plus they’re so tasty that I imagined they would go very well with plain rice and I was right). The servings are small (tapas usually are so that’s expected) so you might want to order more than one of each kind if you are in a big group.

These are the tapas that I highly recommend:
1. Gambas Al Ajillo - the shrimps are small but perfectly cooked and swimming in glorious garlic & oil which you must spoon over your paella, white rice, croquetas or bread - whichever, just make sure you wipe that dish clean because I know I would (or already did actually).
2. Salpicao - tender, perfectly cooked (again) beef, with the same garlicky goodness as the gambas and this one is a bit pricier than the others but a more substantial serving too.
3. Pulpo a la gallega - this is probably the best version of pulpo for me! I’ve tried several and I’m liking this one because it’s tasty, saucy and I especially like the pairing with potato gratin and manchego cheese. The potato gratin is the bomb! The octopus is tender too.
4. Chorizo Frito - this one is value for money at ₱390 an order. It’s cheaper than similar chorizos I’ve ordered in other Spanish restos and I enjoyed it a lot plus it’s my first time to encounter chorizo served with aioli for dipping. I love aioli with almost anything so it was a pleasant surprise.
Again, I paired the above tapas with white rice and with bread (and butter) and it was one of the best meals we’ve had.

During the foodie event, aside from the tapas we were served Paellas and my favorite was the Valenciana especially the bottom part which I scraped off the pan, it was perfectly “tutong” (“socarrat” I think is what it’s called, I’m not so sure). And again, a little of that garlic oil from the tapas makes their paellas even more enjoyable (for me).

We also tried the creamy lengua (delicious tender lengua paired with creamy sauce, lengua lovers at our table gave their 2 thumbs up) and Cerdo Asadoor the slow baked (for 4 hours) pork belly with ultra crunchy skin which I hope they consistently maintain because for me aside from the tender pork, that crunchy skin is my way of testing if that pork belly is good - and it passed!

Lastly, we were served Canonigo for dessert - delicious, perfectly fluffy and soft meringue drizzled with caramel /sugar syrup and cream but when I checked the menu, it can be perceived as a bit pricey at ₱250 especially if you’re expecting a filling dessert. But that’s what Canonigo is - a slice can look big but you can inhale it in seconds because it’s so light!

I almost forgot, got to try the Sangria too and I enjoyed it. Tip: Check out their Happy Hour and Acoustic Night promos as they have promos for pitchers or unlimited sangria respectively. We tried the red, but white sangria is also available.

They have free WIFI too if that’s a plus factor to some hehe.

P.S. It was also nice to know that the restaurant is family-owned and that some family members are very hands-on with the business. They have been around for 2 years already yet it’s my first (and second, LOL) time only because their main entrance is from outside the mall (by the street) although they also have a door by the elevator near Mercury Drug, it’s a bit hidden, and I usually come from the basement parking when entering the mall so I never got to notice them before.

I used to just pass by this restaurant because whenever I’m in Shang, my fam and I would always end up in Cyma. I’ve been wanting to really try it here, and finally, I was able to do so today!

Tho the restaurant can be tight, I still felt comfortable. I stayed in the lounge area. Servers were really friendly and accommodating!

What I would like to highlight are their food! Before coming today, I checked all their reviews, and I was able to validate through my personal experience. Let me go one by one:

1. Sangria
I love theor sangria! To me, it was one of the best! One glass was actually enough for me. I believe there was a generous amount of wine mixed in there. They actually serve it in carafe.

2. Tapas
Among the 4 tapas that were served, the gambas and beef salpicao stood up! The garlic and a bit of spice really complemented everything! The meat of the salpicao was very tender and juicy!

3. Paellas
Among the 3 paellas that were served, I enjoyed their Valenciana. It was balanced. Nothing overpowering. Serving was generous good for 3 people. It was really tasty and the rice was really good!

4. Crispy Pork Belly
It was baked for 4 hours, and it was crispy! You don’t need sauce! It was juicy and tender as well! This is one of my fav among all!

5. Lengua
It was super creamy and soft! I love this also! Second to the best dish I have had! Very flavorful!

Overall, it was an amazing dining experience! I super enjoyed it! It’s something I’d go back for! Will defenitely take my fam here! You guys must try it here! ❤️

Had a late lunch here. Ordered Caesar Salad and Fideua. The Caesar Salad was okay. More tangy than I’d like it to be. Not really so creamy, as what the menu says. The Fideua on the other hand was something good to try. Both are good to share. The ambience of the place is your typical tapas bar. Very cozy, but quite small, unless you’re okay to dine al fresco.

I like that they are open early even before mall hours. Went here for breakfast with my mom. Ordered their Chorizo Frito with garlic rice and Chorizo Potato Hash with some toast. Both came with 2 eggs cooked your way.

For me, the food was just ok. My mom seemed to enjoy her meal more though. We also ordered some of their Chicken Empanadas to go but I wasn't able to try them. Kinda pricy though for just 2 pieces. Service was quick and the waitress was super nice so those were pluses. Might give this place another go to try their non-breakfast menu.

Ambiance and service are good! 👏🏻👍🏼

We had a working dinner meeting here and it was my first time. We were welcomed properly, designated our seats and had a great service crew because during our whole stay they were all attentive to our needs and they kept on refilling our water goblets without us even asking! You can notice by the cleanliness of the place that their staff are highly trained (and classy!).✨✨

Though their food are a bit pricey, and taste was just okay. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that superb as I was expecting. (Area of improvement here) I know this place can be better! ❤️👏🏻

I ordered their chorizo bocadillo last night and it reminds me very much of this tapas stall I used to go to on Stoney St. in Borough Market called Brindisa where people would queue for 30 or so minutes just to get their hands on those yummy chorizo sandwiches. Wobbly Pan’s chorizo has just the right intensity of garlic and pimenton which gives their take on fresh chorizo this intense, distinct and unique aroma and flavor.

I miss your Paella Negra. Nothing has come close to it. :D
Ambience - 5/5; It is a nice quiet place where you can hold meetings
Food - 4.5/5; Their Paella Negra is the best. Nothing has come close to it. :D I do hope it comes in a bigger variant next time so it isn't 'bitin'... The flavor's just oh so good. Other food complements well with the Paella Negra, i.e. Iberian Chicken, Gambas, Salpicao
Drinks - 5/5; The Sangria is great; They have an offering spanish wines and beers too.
Location - 5/5; this location used to be one of the 'unseen' parts of Shang. The lamps and the new sign definitely helped highlight the restaurant.

We hope to visit again soon!

We were checked in at Edsa Shang and as per usual, hubby and I grew hungry late at night so we decided to explore the vicinity for a place to eat. There were so few walking distance places that were open but we chanced upon Wobbly Pan on our quest.

Food was really good but prices were a bit high since servings were not too big. Quality and taste though were good so we’d still want to go back given the chance.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed the place. The servers were very knowledgeable about their menu and their beer selection, the food was reasonably priced with good servings.

We ordered the cheese and chorizo dip for starters and for an appetizer, the serving was plenty. The charcuterie board was good and so were their croquettas. Their paella was a little bit on the salty side, but had a lot of seafood and meat.

All in all, would definitely visit again if I’m craving for Spanish food.

Located by the (3rd?) entrance on the ground floor of Shangri-la Plaza, I’d rate this tapas bar & resto a 3.5 but the rating doesn’t allow a half star anymore apparently. We did have a positive first impression of Wobbly Pan with its charming ambiance and friendly staff so I bumped it to a 4. We really enjoyed the tortilla chips with queso fundido. The deliciously crispy chips were complemented well by the creamy cheese dip with pops of salty chorizo goodness. The paella valenciana was just okay. It was less flavorful than we expected. Perhaps we’ll stick to the tapas next time.

Lovely atmosphere to dine especially for a late night dinner. The indoor and outdoor settings are accompanied by dim lighting and soft music. The menu have a range of western and Spanish fusion food.

The food looked appetising when served so we couldn't wait to dig in. There wasn't anything special for the soup as it was mainly broth. On the other hand the pasta and paella was delicious and drench in sauce therefore every bite was packed with flavours, if only the servings was bigger as it was too small to satisfy.

Situated at the corner of the main entrance and inside the famous EDSA Shangri-La Mall along the Restaurant Bistro Strip, the Wobbly Pan is a comfortable and homey joint with chill tunes making it the perfect place to unwind after a long work day. We were greeted by Guillermo Hernandez, the father of the restaurateur who named the place after an heirloom frying pan. The old cast-iron skillet has been passed on for generations beginning with her great grandfather of pure Spanish descent, who had been a restaurateur himself back in the day. [Read More]

Restaurant business really has shelf life. In the case of Poetry and Prose, they are gone and now replaced by new comer, Wobbly Pan. This establishment mainly serves modern Spanish, and I got to dine here last week.

I had their best seller, Iberian Chicken, a 400-gram thigh chicken meat filled with various spices and white wine. This was savory as expected, and I suggest pairing it with garlic rice. Their staff was kind enough to add more vegetables, at no extra charge.

To fill me up, I ordered warm Pumpkin Soup as well. This bowl seemed like it was pure pumpkin, worth every penny at Php 155.

I also left my credit card here, unfortunately, and they were kind enough to store it for days.

An easy to spot restaurant in Shangri-la Plaza, they feature Spanish dishes in their menu. They also have alcohol and other cocktails in their menu and I'm guessing that's where the name Wobbly Pan came from.

Without hesitation we entered to discover an empty place during the early dinner rush. For me this was a bad omen since a buzzing restaurant is an indication of their food. Appearances can be deceiving.

We tried the Iberian chicken and the pasta Agla e Olio. The pasta which was olive oil based was very good and I never thought that garlic can be such a blessing ingredient for that dish. Thanks to that pasta I am beginning to prefer this kind of pasta. The Iberian chicken was reminiscent of the chicken adobo my mom used to make so the look was very familiar. The chicken was slow cooked for X number of hours which I really liked because you can easily pick apart the meat off the bone. It was packed with delicious flavor which had a little bit of spice kick to make it more interesting. This dish would be more indulgent with a side of rice if you want to neutralize it a little bit as well as to utilize the sauces on the dish.

One thing that really stuck with me in Wobbly Pan is how we would like bigger servings cause of how good everything was with the experience. I would recommend this one a try and I'm sure first timer folks would have their personal cherished experiences at Wobbly Pan.

Wobbly Pan is your ideal Tapas place in a very relaxed area of the Shangri-la Mall. You got to look for it though as it is not located in a very visible area of the mall. They serve your favorite paellas, gambas, and lengua, just to mention a few. It gives you a pretty decent serving, enough to satisfy your cravings for Spanish dish. They can probably work on adding more butter and oil in the ingredients, as typical Spanish dishes are heavy in butter, but Wobbly Pan has gotten the taste already of your comfort Spanish food.

The ambiance is very relaxed and it gives you a rustic Tapas place feel. Good for a few glasses of wine after work or even for a good family time meal. Service is very commendable. Will drop by this place again for another round of Spanish feel.

Great tasting food coupled with impressive presentation, would highly recommend a visit here! Service was prompt too. Would have rated 5 but we had to ask them to correct the bill for one of the items which was overcharged and noticed just now that they still overcharged us for another dish. Well, it's a small amount but nevertheless, it's a turnoff! (They provided a manual bill so just check the numbers if they do the same when you visit)
