While it may be on the expensive side, you get high quality ingredients which make up the rich and creamy gelato scoops. On top of this, the customer service and the ambience is superb as it is more of a cafe complete with coffee and savory food on the menu rather than just a typical ice cream parlor. One can have meetings here or even study.

My cousin took us here for a treat and we loved the presentation of that smoking ice cream (they serve it with dry ice). Their gelato is really good, and there are a lot of flavors to choose from. The stall is nice, and is a good place to hang out after dining with friends.

What we really need is a good serving of a cold treat during this hot summer, and Morelli’s Gelato was right on sight. Forgive me if I can’t recall the exact flavors that I got but one thing’s for sure, they’re not that “icy” and the gelato does have that smooth creamy texture that I adore. The location for this one is just right, not too crowded and somewhat near the shops that we went to after. Sweet treats at reasonable prices.

Cozy ambience, very relaxing considering the location (they are not inside a store, more like kiosk with tables and chairs. Their hot fudge sundae is divine but their amaretto ice cream is the best. The liquor is just the right amount and it blend well with the sweetness of the caramel. Their thick Italian hot chocolate is so good, we would have wanted a 2nd serving but we're so full. Two thumbs up, guys!

Rich ice cream and pretty heavy and thus priced okay at php130 per scoop. Got a scoop with cone and another in a cup for the same price. Very wierd. Ifnyou order in a cone and ask for a cup you add php30. Even wierder. Pretty much your standard gelato.

One of my go-to gelato places just got an upgrade! Morelli's is now a Caffe, offering savory items, Italian coffee and expanding their gelato line-up with even more irresistible options of shakes and sundaes.

Morelli's Gelato remains the same as they constantly use ingredients like premium whole milk and high-quality fruits and nuts. This process assures you and me of a fresh, smoother and creamier scoop of gelato anytime. To add, their offerings are 100% free of hydrogenated fats making it easier to digest and healthier for you!

If I had a choice between ice cream or Morelli's Gelato, that would be a very easy question to answer.

On this sponsored invite, I met their expert Gelatiere, an Italian word for Ice Cream Chef. I wasn't aware that existed until that time. Chef Gino Soldano shares his passion with this statement. “We’re not looking to be in every corner of the world. We’re just looking to be in selected locations where they will appreciate who we are. Not just because we have to be there, but because we want be there. And Manila is one of those places.”

And am glad they chose Manila as one of their destinations. There are two locations currently in our shores, Midlevel East Wing of Shangri-la Mall and in the ground floor of Powerplant Mall in Makati.

Chef Soldano was all energized challenging us as well to come up with Filipino flavors he can use while he is here. He has already concocted banana, mango, papaya, and langka with cashew to make it a langkasuy gelato.

We were a big group of hungry individuals on this visit. Our team took turns in ordering our wishlist- from unfamiliar sandwich combinations, an assortment of pastries to our choice of gelato flavors. I even had two cups of Affogato, a smooth & balanced African coffee, Kilaminjaro with a scoop of Vanilla gelato. It was divine!

What struck me most in this visit is their new signature Extra Thick Shakes (Php 225). I got to indulge in Morelli's nutty Pistachio, Nutella, and Vanilla varieties. It was a sip that brought me much excitement, an elevated multi-sensory experience. The flavors were all bold, and the texture was so thick and creamy! I highly suggest the Pistachio although they also have Banana, Chocolate, Strawberry, Mango, Raspberry, and Caramel Dulce de Leche.

If you fancy sinful masterpieces, go ahead and order their Banana Royale (Php 425). It got loads of bananas all over soft vanilla gelato, poured with dulce de leche sauce. Another is the Morelli’s Bacio (P550), also known as the Italian Kiss. It has milk chocolate, hazelnut, and soft vanilla gelato, paired with chocolate truffle, Piemonte hazelnuts, swirls of Magnum chocolate, hazelnut sauce and whipped cream. At this point, you should be planning a visit!

On premium sandwich selections they have Spanish Salami & Manchego, Prosciutto & Cantaloupe Melon,Turkey with Gruyere & Cranberries, Japanese Kai & Cucumber Tobiko Salad, Smoked Salmon with Red Onion & Cream Cheese, Chicken Mayo Croissant & their Caprese Sandwich. Although they are already on display, you can request for a totally new batch.

They also have other sweets in the form of freshly baked cookies (Choco Chip with Macadamia, Choco Peanut Butter, Oatmeal), pastries and cakes. Go ahead and salivate as well on Chocolate Butter Croissants and Banana Choco Apple Pie. Best thing is, you can ala mode all of these!

I am glad Morelli's got a facelift. Aren't you? See you soon! Go bring that child in you to Morelli's Caffe.

Review 1:

I've been having so much sugar as of late and I still indulge myself with one of the premier gelato stalls around, Morelli's. After a brunch at nearby Gyu Kaku which is owned by the same group, Global Restaurant Concepts Inc., I stepped out and got dessert here.

There is definitely fascination in how they present their ice cream, which they usually top with other products to draw you into it. And it's only Php 100 per scoop, it's so worth it given its quality and authenticity.

I got my usual Chocolate Mint, my all time go to flavor. This gave me an instant refreshing feel, a welcome treat on an unusually sunny day. I paired this with Chocolate, my next favorite flavor of all time. Its bittersweet touch was like no other. I also loved its fudgy texture.

They got 18 flavors, and you have a maximum four taste opportunities. I wish I could have all of them, but my sugar is getting on the way.

One weeknight we went straight to the mall after school so the kids could enjoy an ice cream break. We often pass by Morelli's when we're in Shangrila but it was our first time to try.
Morelli’s is located in the East Wing. It’s right across California Pizza Kitchen.

There were around 20 different flavors of gelato on display. One scoop costs P130.
You can get a free taste if you can’t make up your mind which one to order. I had a taste of the Horlicks gelato. It was exceptionally smooth and creamy. It did actually taste like Horlicks!

We eventually decided to order gelato creations off the menu. My daughter decided to go for Floating Heaven (P275). Two scoops of gelato (your choice) are placed in the middle of rich hot chocolate fondue. She opted for 2 scoops of Stratiacella, which is the gelato version of Cookies and Cream ice cream. I had a taste of the chocolate and it was lovely. Definitely not the sore throat-inducing kind.

My son ordered the fruity Knickerbocker Glory (P395). Strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla gelato are served with fresh seasonal fruits. They put in strawberry, mango, and kiwi pieces. Everything is topped with whipped cream and cherries.

Hubby tried the Caramel “Dulce De Leche” Extra Thick Shake (P225). Morelli’s Extra Thick Shakes are made with fresh gelato. Surprisingly, this one wasn’t overly sweet and hubby actually finished the entire gigantic drink.

I had the Banana Royale (P425). Banana, Caramel “Dulce De Leche”, and Vanilla gelato are served with sliced banana and caramel dulce de leche sauce. The banana gelato tastes amazingly like fresh banana. I also tried the Crema (P210) which is cappuccino with vanilla gelato. It comes with a tiny cookie on the side. It’s coffee and dessert rolled into one… really nice and creamy. Next time though I will choose to have either a gelato creation OR a drink. It's much too heavy to have both at the same time.

We quite enjoyed our Morelli’s experience, but I would probably order on a per scoop basis if I’m alone. The gelato creations are good for sharing -- I don’t think I’d be able to finish an order by myself.

Taste-wise, it's good overall but I'm not an ice cream person so I still prefer frozen yogurt.

Just perfect for the hot hot weather. We already said good bye to the cold breeze so here we are looking for a substitute. We got online discount vouchers to try out the gelato concoctions of Morelli's. Served in uniquely shaped glassware, you can admire and enjoy the gelato at the same time. I got an Almond Amaretto which had a scoop of coffee, vanilla, and hazelnut gelato. It came with a small shot of warm amaretto liquor. The sweetness of the gelato complemented bitterness of the liquor. This was more evident with the sweet hazelnut gelato.

We went to the East Wing of the mall to go to Morelli's Gelato. At first the gelato place was hard to find 'coz it is located at the 3rd level of the East Wing. East Wing combined its 2nd and 3rd Level that's why we were a little bit confused and asked the help of Concierge until we found out that it was connected at the bridge going to the main atrium of the mall.

Morelli's Gelato offers creamy gelato/ ice cream. The gelato place is affiliated with Global Restaurant Concepts, it's the team behind International House of Pancakes (IHOP), California Pizza Kitchen and Apple Bee's.

Morelli's Gelato Shangri-la Plaza branch have a bigger space compre to it's branch at Rockwell. The place have numbered chair and tables where the customers can sit and eat their gelato.

We've choose to avail the promo for Php295.00, a choice of 2 flavors of gelato, 2 toppings and a choice of stick-o or wafer.

I got Mango and Blueberry Gelato topped with Christmas Candy, Rainbow Sprinklers and Wafer.

Mango Gelato - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

Blueberry Gelato - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

The two flavors were creamy and taste really good. But if I will buy it per scoop, I think it's expensive for Php150.00 per scoop.

Total savings when I availed the promo was Php95.00.

Quick chika session with one of my fave cousins over gelato. I liked my creamy Coffee flavored gelato that had just the right of sweetness and a hint of bitterness. I also liked my cousin's Salted Caramel Chocolate. I passed on sampling her Pistachio as Hubby always orders that.

You can still taste the different flavors before ordering but you can only try 3. It was nicely worded on the sign that was posted.

There are less tables now as part of the space is already occupied by Rocky Mountain.

Try before you buy. It’s what I love in every gelato store! Everyday, Morelli’s Cafe offers 18 different flavors of gelato and may be switched regularly.

Favorites:
Pistachio
That one thick slab of Pistachio Gelato is a natural stunner! I love Pistachio. Maybe that’s why?

Coffee
Millions of coffee lovers would agree with me Morelli’s Coffee Gelato strikes the palate and it’s similarly addictive like a cup of joe.

Papaya Lime
The strangest combination, Papaya Lime, somehow gets my adventurous taste buds.

Manila Special
A flavor only available in our city, is a mixture of bananas and coconuts.

Amore Cup (Php 550)

Kids won’t fight. Couples will get closer. This love cup called Amore Cup will bring two people closer as they share two special flavors of Morelli’s Gelato. One cup contains hazelnut, chocolate and soft vanilla gelato served with chocolate sprinkles, Piemonte hazelnuts, a chocolate flake and fresh whipped cream. Second cup contains berry sorbet, strawberry and soft vanilla gelato served with strawberries dipped in chocolate, a spring of redcurrant, baby meringues and fresh whipped cream.

Almond Amaretto (Php 395)

Happier hours are here with gelato and liquor combined. This glass of Almond Amaretto looks deceiving, with coffee, chocolate and soft vanilla gelato with a single shot of amaretto liqueur in a chocolate cup, fresh whipped cream and an amaretto biscuit.

Gelato is always better than ice cream due to the fact that it is so much more condensed than ice cream, resulting in very rich flavors. It doesn’t melt as easily as ice cream since it is stored at a much lower temperature to keep it solid. Even though it is flavorful, there are some gelatos that do taste just about right for their flavor and some don’t really taste good at all, but Morelli’s Gelato is in a class of its own when it comes to the quality of gelato that they offer. The taste is just really, really good. The flavors we’ve tried, the black chocolate and hazelnut, were the best we’ve tried so far.

The Pickiest Eater In The World

The day after Rain's birthday, Rina and I decided to continue her simple celebration by taking her out for Ice Cream at one of her favorite Gelato places, Morelli's Gelato Caffe at Shangrila Plaza Mall. Though we usually pass by for a scoop whenever we're at the mall, this is the first time I realized that Morelli's also has some incredible Sundaes as well!

Food And Travel Is ❤️

I finally had time to share my review for Morelli's Gelato Caffe in Shangri La Mall Shaw Blvd..

After having heard a lot of good things about the best Gelato & dessert parlor in town, We finally went to Morelli's to try it out. I was utterly disappointed for a moment because the Celestina is no longer available.

Celestina consists of chocolate, strawberry and soft vanilla gelato with fresh banana and strawberries, drizzled with chocolate sauce & served with fresh whipped cream, all wreathed in mist. So who would not get disappointed not to taste that kind of stunning dessert treat?

Since we're already at the caffe, we ended up ordering La Dolce Vita, Banana Royale & 2 scoops of Premium Flavored Gelato ( Chocolate & Peanut Butter). Fortunately, all of our three orders taste really good & #instaworthy !!

It’s rich, luscious and so richly tasty that I felt like I’d eaten everything afterwards. The Chocolate & Peanut Butter flavor belongs together which reminds me of Reese.

To sum up, Morreli's is a fantastic gelateria - reasonable price, awesome flavours and big size! which means we'll be back!! (maybe in another branch)

This is an awesome spot to spoil your family and friends. I just do find it too sweet for my taste buds and wonder if it is really that necessary.

So do your palettes a favour, find your way here, hop in the queue and treat yourself to one of the many variety of flavours.. just cause you deserve it !!

I went to Morelli's Gelato a week ago when I accompanied my mom to meet with some friends. And her friend told me about Morelli's and I said ok and let's try it.

It's a bit small since it's like a little kiosk/cafe rather than a restaurant. Not too good if you have 10 or more people with you.

It's a bit pricey but it's totally worth it.

TASTE 5/5
You can try the flavors if you're not sure on which to order, they'd give you a little just so you can get the taste. I personally recommend the Coffee Cheesecake and it was delicious. It's not too sweet but it's not that strong for the coffee flavor. I'd order it again if ever I'm in the area and try their other menu items too.

Morelli's is one of my favorite gelato place. I even remembered my first time to have their alphonso mangoes and sri lankan coconut gelato that is rich, creamy, and really fruiy fragrant.

This time around we tried the Straciatella, Rocher, and Salted Caramel Peanut Butter. The straciatella was light vanilla laced with chocolate. It just reminds me of magnum or vanilla with hardened ganache laced in the gelato.

Rocher was Ferrero gelato. This one I didn't like so much. The choco hazelnut was very light and faint. Some gelato store has better flavor than here.

Salted Caramel Peanut Butter was the BOMB! sweet, salty, nutty, creamy all in one spoonful. It's like a caramel popcorn with peanut butter. It's just perfect.

Absolute heaven for me. Sorry, I love ice cream so much. What I like about this place is that a gelato is supposed to have more sugar than the regilr ice cream but Morelli's gelatos just have the perfect amount of sweetness.

I am not an Ice cream person & YES, we exist but that doesn't mean we won't eat it. I only eat a few flavors of Ice cream, namely : Chocolate (DUH) , Vanilla & MY FAVORITE PISTACHIO. Pistachio is the only flavor that I don't usually order, if it's not gelato because some Ice cream shops usually messes up the flavor with a dash of mint. I love Morelli's Gelato, because they didn't mess the PISTACHIO FLAVOR, they gave it dignity. I -also like the way they arranged the aesthetics of their shop, it was so nice and clean!

My friend really wanted to try Morelli's, and since we have time to spare while waiting for our movie, we visited after dinner. I was on a no-sugar diet then but just tagged along to check the place out. I was not planning on ordering, but when I scanned the available flavors, I was somehow attracted. Then, they also had a sugar-free banana flavor. Most of the time, when I try a sugar-free flavor, it is still sweet because of the sugar substitute they use. I never expected my sugar-free banana, to be really "sugar-free". I was surprised and amazed at the same time. I tasted real natural flavors on an ice cream. I enjoyed my experience.

My wife had coffee cheesecake and I had a teeny-weeny sample. It was good and rich and the coffee is flavorful. However, the cheesecake was not that so. I was looking for the salty part of the cheesecake, but it only has the creamy part of it.

Place has wifi and very comfortable chairs that you can actually sleep in. Although it is located in the middle of the mall, like a stall, it is attractive and has a cool feel.

Finished with our dinner and waiting for our time to watch a movie. We went to have dessert here at Morelli's. I ordered coffee cheesecake, while my husband ordered a sugar-free banana and our friend got a three-scoop ice cream consisted of Forest of the Yogurt, Truffle and Dulce Caramel.

Coffee Cheesecake - overall the flavor was good with good coffee flavor but the flavor of the cheesecake is not distinct as I expected. Would have love it if one can taste more cheesecake in it. And not sure if it just my ice cream, some spoons that I ate seems to have ice crystals in it.

Banana Sugar-Free - You can really say this is a "sugar-free" ice cream. It was not sweet at all and you can really taste and eat the bananas that comes with the ice cream. If might disappoint those who look for less guilt ice cream yet still want to taste the sweetness.

Forest of the Yogurt - Really berry-flavorful and the yogurt ice cream is creamy.

Truffle - Has a rich dark chocolate flavor that is indulging.

Dulce Caramel - We unanimously like this the most. The caramel sweetness was not that sweet and has this depth of milky taste of dulce which goes well with the creaminess of the ice cream.

A scoop of their ice cream is rather expensive but you get a really good deal when you choose to have 3 scoops. What is also good about the place, the seats they offer to customers are very comfortable and they have free Wifi. :)

What The F | TFC

These were the flavors my friends and I tried: sugar-free banana, coffee cheesecake, truffle, dulce caramel (if I'm not mistaken), and something with berry (sorry, I really forgot, and the receipt isn't with me haha).

First of all, Morelli's isn't bluffing about their sugar-free banana gelato! It's literally sugar free, save for the natural sugar from the banana, so basically it felt like eating chilled cream with banana slices, and though I applaud them for having such a flavor, I won't recommend this hahaha! Any kind of ice cream is supposed to be sweet!

The coffee cheesecake has a good balance of both components, though I'd prefer it to have a bit more of the latter flavor hehe =p

As for my cup - yes, I had 3 flavors, hello mas sulit - I didn't enjoy the truffle flavor because it was just ordinary tasting. I loved the other 2, though! The berry one had just the right amount of tartness, and the dulce one, AHHH HEAVENLY. :)

I love this place - the chairs are so comfy!!! It seems like a bar, not a gelato place. Can't wait to go back!

For those looking for ice cream at shangrila mall i think this is a good option. However, there is a lack of choices compared to other ice cream parlors. Also good brewed coffee.

Finally! I was able to try Morelli's Gelato. Honestly, 150 for a Gelato is pricey. However, if we are gonna be talking about the quality of how the gelato tastes like and the softness of the gelato, I can say, it is a win-win situation already.

Passed by Morelli's and got curious about their offerings. Therefore, I ordered 2 scoops of premium gelato - Truffles and Rocher flavor served in sugar cone. The taste is something unique, rich, creamy and flavorful. One of the best Gelatos in town! Quite pricy but satisfied my tastebuds.
They also offer regular flavors and premium flavors. Their best seller premium flavors are Truffles, Pistachio and Hazelnut btw.
Will definitely comeback and try other flavors. :)

Brother and I went to Morelli's with a couple vouchers from Metrodeal for P300 worth of ice cream. You can redeem up to 10 at a time but my brother and I decided to use two for this round and share one of their signature ice creams with how much milk I had that day.

After checking out the menu, we both initially decided on a Bella Nutella, but they were apparently all out of the banana gelato, so he decided on a Morelli's Bacio since he's the type to love chocolate. The order didn't take long to arrive, but it was a sight to behold. I have heard of instagram ready things, and I think this would be one of them. I love the glasses that they use, though the size was a little underwhelming.

My brother and I dug in and we were both impressed. The truffle ice cream used had the rich and smooth taste of chocolate, but had an additional dimension that spoke volumes of its quality. The soft gelato had a very striking vanilla flavor and sweetness that was almost overpowering, but when eaten with the truffle ice cream, it only enhanced the flavor. Taken with the creamy nuts, a bite reminded me of nutella. When taken to the next level with the the provided chocolate sauce in a chocolate cup, one could really feel the decadence and indulgence with each bite.

I left my brother to eat my treat to him after a few bites (and when all the nuts were consumed because those were my favorite parts), he dug in with gusto and loved every single bite. His words for the end of it when only a little pool of ice cream at the bottom of the cup remained? "I wish I could dive into it".

My main complaint though is the price. For the value of the ice cream, I would agree that it would be worth quite a bit. But P550 for that amount and P50 for a bottle of water? I'm not too sure.

Would I go back? Only with a coupon. Would I recommend it? If you have the cash to throw at ice cream, this would be the place to do it.

I've tried their chocolate flavored gelato, it tasted good but, a bit pricey for a scoop seemed like it was measured compared to Casa Italia though they have the same price for a scoop of gelato but Casa Italia gives a lot of what I paid for, the cup is really full & they don't measure it at all.

FOOD Superb! I can actually munch on the truffles and vanilla scoops that I got and pistachios and mint on my friends order.
SERVICE Quick! In less than 5mins we got our order and even paid the items already. We'll know if its service is still the same when they're packed.
PLACE Cute! In the new wing of Shangri-La Mall. It feels like an actual ice cream parlor. And the area is quite a big too.
PRICE Expensive! P200 for 2 scoops of their gelato. I can get a gallon already for that. I need to earn more.
OVER-ALL Wallet check! Aww... How I wish I'm rich. Yes for me but no for my pockets. Me sad.

Morelli's Gelato was established way back in 1907 (talk about heritage!) and boasts about using their trademark recipe for their ice cream for 5 generations already.

I've heard and read about some people getting excited when it arrived in the Philippines before that's why we took the chance to try this out in Shang.

Had 1 order of 3 gelato scoops in a cup (Php 240). The flavors I got were Pistachio, Strawberry and Chocolate Truffle. The scoops were not big. The gelato melts easily. On the other hand, they tasted good.

Pistachio tasted like real pistachio nuts, not just mere pistachio flavoring that some ice cream places have. Strawberry was, I must say, very strawberry tasting. The Chocolate Truffle was sweet yet delicious. I was informed the Chocolate Truffle flavor was their best seller.

I gave it a 3.5 because it's utterly expensive for what it is. Don't get me wrong. It's delicious but I don't think it's "sulit"/ does not give much value for money / bang for your buck. I think it's worth the splurge from time to time when you find yourself craving for some of their gelato or when you want to reward yourself for a job well done.

Tip from Trish: try out the different flavors (free samples!) before buying to be sure you'd be getting the flavors you want. If you are dining with friends / with company, you may want to consider ordering 2 or 3 scoops on a cup then share it instead of separately ordering 1 scoop each which proves to be more expensive.

The little purple temptation is what I'd like to call Morelli's Gelato at Shangri-la. Why? It's almost impossible to not pass it by if you take the escalator near Rustan's on the upper floor, to get to the East Wing 😁 Very easy to find and the view, if you get to the nice seat, will take you out of the stressfulness you could have had before you decided to take a break. Since my school is nearby, and my taste buds would hate on me for going straight to the condo after a day of classes, I would more often than not drop by and revel in the dessert (ignoring the carbs cause we all ought to live a little!) to keep me enthused for remaining university work and for hobbies! I just hope they'd serve coffee with larger sizes for fellow caffeine-fueled beings like me; but overall, two thumbs up. Oh, though the other thumb's busy guiding the spoonful of gelato to my system. 😉

This ice cream place/stall is very pricey. An ice cream will cost you 100 bucks (minimum). While it is very expensive, it is also very delicious. This is a great example of you get what you pay for. The ice cream is very smooth and silky. The flavors are also top notch. I usually buy one when I have lots of cash, otherwise its back to magnolia for me.

Passing by the Morelli's parlor at Shang can get so tempting. It's lush purple motif and display of ice cream flavors can really make one curious. Such was the case one Sunday afternoon when my family and I decided to stop by for some ice cream. Their flavors are very simple, yet are still very full of flavor. We didn't get to try their plated ice cream dishes on the menu though. I reckon it would be cheaper to order desserts off the menu and have it for sharing!

The gelato here is good. It wasn't the it-rocked-my-world kind of good.. more like oh this is yum.. then move on to the next topic kind of good. It wouldn't be my favorite Gelato place but definitely worth checking out.

We had the mascarpone & fig and the truffles.

The service was pretty lovely. It's the smiles from the friendly staff that makes your visit even sweeter. :) They are also more than happy to give you samples before you order. :)

I suggest you try to have your gelato in those fancy glasses instead of a scoop on a paper cup. It's cheaper! La Dolce Vita only costs P225 (i guess) with 4 different flavours of gelato while a single scoop costs P95. Great to spend sunday afternoon here with friends or family!

Their presentation is good, however I was expecting "Celestine" to have a sort of foggy effect and waffle/ cookie when served as indicated in the menu's picture (dry ice). Anyhow their gelato is good :D

I am always in search for the best ice cream/gelato. And yes, Morelli's did not fail me. I always look forward to buying their pistachio flavor everytime I go to Shang. Rich gelato flavors and a very good place to hang out. 5 stars for Morelli's ❤️
