I just saw the other reviews now and I wonder why? Because I had a really good time at Nara Thai. The service was super quick and they refilled our water constantly. The food we ordered was so good. I just went here for the first time because I was craving for Pad Thai but I was pleasantly surprised with the other dishes, especially the sauces. Pretty cheap for the amount and quality of food you’ll get, if you ask me. Will definitely come back and I hope they deliver the same service.
The pomelo salad is the best
One of the best Thai places in the metro. The Thai sampler was very good, I loved the spring rolls and crab cakes and the selection of sauces. The sweet and sour was surprisingly spicy though.
The Pad Thai was very tasty. However if you like it nuttier, this version is a notch lower than what you may be used to. The solo serving is large by my standards.
Serving time was around fifteen minutes. The ambience is comfortable.
We had a couple of things, their Tom Yum, Tom Ka Gai, pad Thai, the fish cake, their squid with salted egg, the steamed fish, the massaman curry, and their new chicken dish. The standout items to me would be their Tom Ka Gai and the new chicken dish. I liked the Tom Ka Gai actually better than the Tom Yum, as it had a very distinct lime flavor that the Tom Yum was lacking. Actually the best move is to take the two soups and combine them into one.
The pad thai, fish cake, squid, curry and fish were all just okay for me. The steamed fish I felt was a bit overcooked. Their new chicken dish is quite nice, it is sort of like a lemongrass chicken. Servings are a bit on the small side, but prices are not bad. Their rice is excellent, as you do expect with Thai places.
This is definitely one of the better Thai places in the country, and a place you should be going to.
Food is really good. Ordered soft shell crab, tom yum soup, chicken satay and pomelo salad. Really loved the soft shell crabs. Will be back for thai cravings
Late lunch @ Megamall. Decided to give this place a try. No regrets. Ordered the ff (pls check the complete name of the dish on the menu):
Pad thai
Bagoong rice
Crispy fried chicken & thai herbs
And of course, zomato gold's 2+2 on drinkz - watermelon shake & nara milk tea
Super yummy!
Super filling!
Service is sooo great.
Price is just right.
To share servings.
Sarap bumalik!

It’s alright, for all the hype, the food wasn’t as good as it was hyped, supposedly an award winning restaurant in Thailand . The service was awesome. The Tom yum, I had better. It’s alright perhaps I’ll go back perhaps not. I got 2+2 Buko Juice
Catfish salad *****
Finally this one has some real catfish fillet and it is divine! The dressing made a perfect balancing act of flavors.
Beef boat soup *****
Like a really good pho, the noodles have the right firmness and the clean soup base is just how I like it.
Spicy kao phad *****
The indulgence that is this rice dish is hard to resist.
Place ****
I like that you can sit with your own pillar boundaries which do not exactly provide privacy but makes for a picture perfect backdrop. The gray and purple color scheme def has the thai feel, esp the orchid boat and buddhist decor.
Service ****
I'm pleased with how we were accommodated inside. We ordered the beef boat according to the price on the menu which was actually for the large size. The server came back to tell us that there is a smaller bowl that's not listed. We still went for the large order of course.
Serving 3.5
Just right - neither overflowing nor lacking
Price 3.5
A bit high but def worth it. Credit cards are accepted.

Been here 2 months ago. It was our first time to eat Thai food, and it was such a good experience. I love Tom Yum Goong and Pad Thai. Love the place as well, worth the visit. Khap Khun Ka!
Now i found a great thai restaurant here in the PHilippines. The ambiance and customer service is amazing. The serving is quite big. The taste is authentic. And there is a lot of options to choose from.
Food is undeniable good! Although there’s something missing with the Pad Thai I just couldn’t explain what. Also, the beef in the Red Beef Curry is not that tender. But overall, food is superb — well, just the food cause the servers are not that customer oriented.
There’s something quite intriguing with restos that have been given awards for authenticity and taste of dishes. Here’s one Thai resto that you might want to check out.
Randomly craved for Thai food and was so happy that my friends dragged me in to this resto one Tuesday morning. To be honest, I haven’t heard about Nara but since I saw that it has an award, I was encouraged to try. The resto was actually amongst one of the best Thai restaurants in the world from 2007 to 2017 and I think it lived up to that.
The place is easy to find in Megamall and the space is quite huge and modern. My problem with it is that it’s a little bit dim perhaps intentional? Just to get that chill vibe I suppose. So anyway, ordered a few of their food. Price? Perhaps a bit too steep considering the serving size. But I will let you guys decide if it’s worth it.
> Tom Ka Hed Tao Hoo - Hot coconut soup with tofu and mushrooms. And first it tasted weird but will eventually grow on you.
> Goong Kabeuang - It’s basically just prawn pancakes. Man, this is my super fave here. It’s really like eating real prawns. No extenders.
> Fried rice varieties - like the one with salted egg and bagoong. Not my fave. It was ok. Well spiced for some reason it lacks a punch.
> Gai Hor Bai Toei - Another one of my faves here. Basically just chicken pandan. The meat was super juicy and the flavor is all packed inside it. Must order!
> Khao Niew Lam Yai Nai Maprow Ice Cream - In short, it’s sticky rice with longan and topper with ice cream. Super duper good. But it was too small for the prize. Not very reasonable I must say.
> Pad Thai - I have tasted to many pad thai in Thiland and their version is good. Very very close to what I had before. However, I’ve tasted better ones.
Overall, super great dining experience. Some dishes are too pricey for its size but others are definitely worth the money. Will definitely come back for those prawn pancakes!
[2019-02-19] My usual apprehension when eating in an asian restaurant is not if the food are too spicy but if any of the dishes would have a strong wansoy flavor. I do not mind if the dish has wansoy as long as I don’t or can’t taste it on the dishes. Thankfully, all the dishes passed the ‘no-wansoy test’, haha.
Nara Thai is probably one of the most authentic Thai restaurants here in Metro Manila. It's a franchise from the original Nara in Thailand. Perhaps you'll get a glimpse of Thailand once you go inside and see the interiors up to the staff's dress.
First, I tried their Thai Milk Tea - it was sweet (a bit milky on the first but later on, the tea can be tasted).
Yum Som O - savory pomelo and shrimp salad
Tom Ka Hed Tao Hoo is a good starter. It's a tofu and straw mushroom in hot coconut soup. It was sweet and sour at the same time.
Goong Kabeuang - deep fried crispy prawns pancake. Another good starter! It was thin yet the flavor is rich! Even without the sauce, I can finish it. Dipping or putting some plum sauce on your pancake will make it sweeter.
Goong Phad Pong Ka Ree - these fried prawns in yellow curry sauce were rich in taste and has a creamy texture! Also, the prawns that they serve were big! It's not that spicy (for me).
Khao Phad Kapi reminds me of the Binagoongan rice.
Khao Phad nam Prik Goong Seab reminds me of rice with a salted egg taste, and had lots of ingredients compared to the Khao Phad Kapi
Bua Loy - reminds me of the traditional Bilo-bilo but this hot dessert has a twist because they added salted egg on this one which gives a sweet and salty flavor. It's one of my favorites.
Khao Niew Lam Yai Nai Maprow Ice Cream - longan sticky rice with coconut ice cream, it is served cold. I must say I like both desserts they served but the Bua Loy won my heart.
Mussels in Lemongrass - not that I didin't like it, but it lacked that 'wow' factor because the taste was already familiar. Plating/presenation on this dish can be improved.
Gai Hor Bai Toei - chicken pandan wasn't dry and it was still juicy. The taste is also there. One of the dishes I'll try and order again.
Will I recommend Nara Thai? Of course!
11 Months Ago: First Visit
I wasn't in the mood for any fancy food nor was I adventurous that day. With that in mind, my bff (like my Tita, my bff is also a partner in pigouts) took me to this new Thai place in Megamall. Nara is not a fancy restaurant. By fancy, I mean Nara doesn't attempt to shock or to impress. I say that it was a Thai restaurant that serves passable food.
I told you that I wasn't in the mood to be adventurous that day so we ordered for the usual... Bagoong Rice, Chicken Pandan, Pad Thai, Pomelo Salad and of course, Thai Milk Thai (what can be more boring than that line up?). They all looked and tasted... ordinary. Maybe, the owners wanted to go back to the basics what with all restaurants now trying to out-shock each other. I respect that. But at least, present your food in such a way that it invites diners that makes them forget to make the sign of the cross and to just start wolfing the food down?
What I'm trying to say here is walang character ang buong restaurant (except for their cutlery which I liked and their one giant waiter that dwarfed everyone within a foot away).
Look, Nara didn't even use good, juicy Pomelo for the salad. It's dry and bland. It was really a sad affair, I tell you. Actually, our table was a sad table. Yes, I finished everything just because I came out from a 12-hour fasting and it was my first meal of the day (and my bff is footing the bill, nakakahiya naman). Otherwise...
Oh, they have good Thai Milk Tea, at least. But... how difficult is it to make one?

11 Months After: Revisit
I do revisits.
And I’m the happiest person to see improvements. Nara Thai Cuisine is one restaurant that deserves a pat in the back. I don’t know when the development came but that’s beside the point. Nara hasn’t been sleeping. Sabi nga, si Nara ay di sila natulog sa kangkungan (no pun intended).
First of all, their servers are now confident about their work. They are not anymore annoying amateurs who were bumbling left and right. Gone was the giant waiter whose existence was close to nil (I swear that my favorite paper weight has more use) and the manager/super whose knowledge of running a restaurant was equally-zip. Truth of the matter, double zip.
Before I touch on food, let me say that Nara now has character. You can now feel the effort of management to have one . One can now smell the Thai spirit wafting through every corner of the restaurant. And that it not paid endorsement.
Now, the food.
Of all the food served, the Goong Kabeuang (deep fried Crispy Prawn Pancake) was my favorite. It was non-complex cooking yet it burst with flavor. I can have it anytime of the day.
The Yum Som O (Pomelo Salad) was the most improved (well, from what I ordered 11 months ago). The Pomelo is now juicy and sweet. I recommend this best to whet everyone’s appetite.
Personally, the (new) Phad Thai Kai Krob underwent a miraculous transformation. What used to be the blandest Phad Thai this side of the Third World (and all the world known to man) has resurrected to a dish fit for a god (note that I didn’t capitalize god and I refuse to use king).
The Coconut Soup (Tom Ka Hed Tao Hoo) was passable. In my book, it was too heavy for my tongue and my tummy. I don’t want to be full after my first course.
Another star of the table was the Goong Phad Pong Ka Ree (fried prawns in yellow curry sauce). Nara was able to extract the right amount of flavors from the prawns simmering in curry sauce (if only it was served sans the skin, I would have challenge anyone in the room to a fried prawn eating race).
Of course, there were dishes screaming for help. When I say screaming for help, they need immediate resuscitation (beside the Nara’s stars, they were ugly ducklings just waiting to be eliminated). In my book, the Khao Phad Nam Prik Goong Seab (rice with chili, shrimp paste, caramelized pork, crispy catfish and salted egg), needs serious examination.
Another dish that needs a thorough diagnosis was the Gai Hor Bai Toei (Chicken Pandan). I remember how mediocre it was 11 months ago and how mediocre it was a week ago. Was it lacking in the marinating department or in the frying? One thing I know is that it wasn’t exceptional. And to say that in the food industry is like reading an obituary. Obit for the chicken, that is.
And the new player in the Nara menu: Mussels in Lemongrass. Kumbaga sa boxing, sa weigh-in pa lang, talo na. Everything about this dish spells defeat. From the presentation to the mussels used, it was a pre-determined loss. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not bad. It’s just not good enough to be sold in a restaurant… in Megamall or any mall, for that matter.
Finally, dessert. Sticky Rice with Coconut Ice Cream and the Coconut Milk Rice Dumplings with Salted Egg were outstanding. Both were presented well, not to shock with visuals but with taste. And for me, that’s how one should play in the food business.
Congratulations, Nara.
All the food here is yummy, wow, authentic and will give your taste buds a taste of Thai cuisine Heaven.
The Yum So O - Pomelo Salad is sweet and a little sour but they use fresh Pomelo and it's tasty.
Tom Ka Hed Tao Hoo - Tofu and Straw Mushrooms in Coconut Soup - Is a vegetarian favorite which is an alternate for the traditional Tom Yum. It tastes really good but for those that want the traditional one they should order the Tom Yum Goong.
Gai Hor Bai Toei is one of the best Chicken Pandan I've ever tasted in my life.
One of the crowd favorites is the Goong Kabeuang - Deep Fried Crispy Prawns Pancake with the yummy 2 sauce that the use for it.
The Phad Thai Kai Krob and the Khao Phad Kapi are also my favorites here and are a must order for this resto.
I would rate this resto a 6.0 if there was a rating like that.
I feel like I've gone to Thai Heaven!
I love Thai cuisine. This place is located at SM Megamall’s Fashion Hall. We ordered Chicken Pandan, Chicken Satays and Red Beef Curry. We also had Pad Thai which my mom and sister loved. The food was great! We actually needed another round of rice. The only thing I think needs improvement is the serving of the dishes. The price isn’t too affordable either. The design of the resto is nice and has that Thai feel to it. The servers are nice and attentive as well. Anyway you could end the night with their coconut ice cream. 🍨
#Narathaicuisinerestaurant authentic thai restairant now in Manila. We have ordered Tom Yum Goong, Stir Fried Water Spinach and Fried Grouper for dinner. Check out my yt for more info of my take dining here in Nara thai.
Pretty good restaurant! Try green chicken curry fried rice & Thai milk tea, one of the best in town. Thumbs up 👍🏽
They also happy hour for unlimited cocktails.
I finally got to try Nara Thai with my family after spending the day shopping in Megamall.
💟 We ordered crispy prawn pancakes, steamed grouper, beef massaman, squid in salted egg sauce, 2 bagoong rice, thai iced tea, durian sticky rice and bua loy. Flavors and spices blended well with each dish. Quality meat too! The dessert is also one of a kind! SUPER SARAP! Ive never eaten durian but i would only eat it at Nara Thai!
💟 Service was good as they knew the menu well and accommodated us quickly.
Will definitely come back and bring my friends here!
Me and my family had a lunch at nara..a very good dining experience, friendly staffs, generous servings of food and also a relaxing ambiance..almost all the food is a must try..i'll definitely comeback and highly recommedable!
First time to eat in a Thai restaurant with my family, Thanks we found NARA Thai in Megamall. Our experience was GREAT! FOOD are great...SERVICE is fast....Staff are Friendly and ATTENTIVE, i love the AMBIANCE . we ordered Bua loy, Durian Ice Cream for dessert. We also tried Pad thai and Chicken pandan. Value for money and my family love all the food we ordered. We definitely we come back....thanks NARA. Hope you also open a branch near Fairview. God bless!
Been here with my family, they loved most your famous pad thai with crab, of course i love the cat fish with shreaded mangoe, and my grand daughter the shrimp cake, of course your durian ice cream served last for our dessert. Very yummy and rates are affordable. Fast serving considering we have kids that can't wait.
I sauntered into the Restaurant with my family on a Friday night and was immediately greeted by the friendly receptionist. The restaurant was filling up quickly and it was almost 7 :00 pm but we managed to snag a table.
Definitely a family-style restaurant and nice enough for casual lunch or dinner, able to feed the family without incurring a punishing bill.
Phad Thai Kai Krob is mandatory.
Definitely will come back!
Great Thai Cuisine! Our group definitely enjoyed the dining experience. The ambiance is very nice. The staffs were courteous and attentive. We tried a lot of dishes. Some of those are of course, Pad Thai, Pandan Chicken and Bagoong rice which are the must have. People who like spicy meals will love the options. Among all our orders, the Salted Egg Squid and Durian Ice Cream stood out for me. :)
One of the very few Thai restaurants in Manila that is truly AUTHENTIC!
I love Tom Ka Gai, Squid with Salted Egg Sauce and of course... Phad Thai!
2 Thumbs up Nara Thai!!!
🐽 Food: The fried chicken with Thai herbs was really delicious and unforgettable! The tom yum and catfish salad were also good.
🍹 Drinks: We ordered the Thai milk tea but it seemed like the taste of the tea was too strong.
🍴Ambiance: Restaurant was clean.
👫 Service: Servers were approachable and knew their menu well.
💸 Price: Really affordable for the amount of food served. And all meals were good for sharing.
Always a gastronomic joy to have dinner at Nara! Love all their dishes especially the Pad Thai and their Thai iced tea! Can’t wait to go back with my mom!😊
Best thai restaurant in Manila. Hands down. The taste is very authentic. I suggest you have the Beef Massaman, Green Chicken Curry (if you want that kick), then definitely get the Pad Thai. BEST!! Make more room for the khao phad kapi (bagoong fried rice)....carbs are worth it. trust me. Then if you want some soup, i recommend you have the Tom Ka Gai. Definitely my fave. For dessert, i love their new dish....durian sticky rice. I hate durian but this one made me a convert! KAKAIBA!
First time to try Thai cuisine and Nara Thai provided what we need in terms of food, service and ambiance.
1. Food was great we were surprised how tasty and flavorful it was, serving is enough, presentation is neat and instagrammable.
2. Service was great as well staffs are accommodating and very quick in responding.
3. Ambiance is great too very neat and clean.

Thai cravings satisfied!
Food - 4. Only tried Soi as comparison. Pretty much the same.
Ambiance - 5. Very homy and high end.
Service - 5. Orders are served fast. Servers are accomodating.
Orders: Fried Squid, Pad Thai and Chicke Curry Rice
I stumbled across Nara whilst strolling through Megamall. Most of the Thai restaurants I have seen around Manila are on the lower end and not of a high quality or authenticity. Abit like a fast food version of Thai food. Nara has a nice ambience and setting within the Fashion Food Hall at SM megamall. Their menu is nicely designed with clear photos which makes selecting items so much easier. I actually ordered the Roasted Red Curry Duck and Khao Phad Kapi which is Rice with condiments. Unfortunately I was told a few minutes later after placing the order, that the Red Duck Curry was no longer available which was dissapointing. However I chose the Green Chicken Curry, a classic Thai dish. I was not dissapointed with the taste of either. The greeen curry had plentiful chicken and the level of spices and heat was mild but enough for me, and the flavours combined with the rice and condiments was magnificent. The staff were friendly and I really enjoyed the food there. I would recommend Nara for quality Thai food, the prices might be abit on the higher side compared with some Thai restaurants. Some other Thai restaurants in Manila are pricey too, but the quality or portion sizes are not really up to par. Nara is abit pricier, but thankfully the quality does seem to be there.
We were looking to try a new place and saw this one with no lines so immediately got a seat.
I have to admit the prices were a bit high and serving is for around 2 pax only. But the food is really that good so you wouldn’t mind shelling out a bit.
That Thai sampler comes with fried spring rolls, pomelo salad, chicken satay and fried dumplings. The dumplings could really use more stuffings.
The soup is served with a little candle so your soup stay fairly warm throughout your meal. I love how all the veggies give this refreshing burst of flavor in your mouth! The red curry is very milky and has this right amount of spiciness. Every scoop of the curry sauce is so flavorful. It blends so well with their jasmine rice. I do wish they have a bigger serving.
For Thai food, this is really a good place to be if you want to splurge a little.
I love to watch Thai lakorn so today we went to Nara Thai to have our late lunch since my husband is missing the taste of Thai food. It is my first time to eat at a Thai restaurant since we favor Japanese or Chinese cuisine. First, I am not into spicy food but I eant to try and explore. Okay, So the place is nice with a little Thai fever. We ordered Nara Thai sampler, my kids liked the pork wonton and spring roll. The chicken satay for me lacks some taste or something is missing but then you can dip it with their sauces the peanut one or the sweet and sour sauce. Then we had one of their best sellers Phu Phad Pong Karee ( stir fried crab with yellow curry sauce), this one definitely is a winner. My youngest loved the curry sauce mixed with their fragrant jasmine rice. We also ordered Kang Karee Gai ( yellow coconut chicken curry) this one is spicy but the kind of spicy that is yummy to my taste buds, you just want to eat more. Then we had chicken pandan, fried chicken wrapped in pandan leaves. Overall we enjoyed the food, the crab and the curry. Now I want to try out other Thai resto I think I become addicted to the taste of curry😄
The food was so FRAGRANT. Hence, the flavor was awesome. I ate the pad thai krob, fish cakes and for beverage a glass of nara milk tea. The taste was popping and so different on every phase of eating the food. My total bill was 767 pesos. For the prixe point I would say that it's a bit pricey. However, the service, ambience and flavoer were all great. I felt like I have eaten AUTHENTIC thai. I will come back for more!!!
Just a few months ago, Nara Thai Cuisine opened its first branch in the Philippines at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall. The brand was brought in by the Roku Group of Companies (the group behind Roku Sushi + Ramen and Sushi Nori) led by the mother-daughter partnership of Sheila and Milka Romero.
I was honestly surprised to see negative reviews here. As someone who loves authentic Thai, I say Nara is the place to be. I love that they don't try so hard to impress, nor try to adjust to the Filipino palate. They stuck to the core of what Thai food should be -- simple, unique, and bursting with flavor. I personally loved their Tom Ka Gai (Chicken in Coconut Soup), Tord Man Pla (Thai Fish Cake), and the Ma Khuer Yao Phad Kra Pao Moo (Stir Fried Eggplant with Minced Pork, Chili, and Hot Basil).
Nara Thai Cuisine has finally come to the Philippines! Together with family members from The KTG, we were invited to try out their menu. Sharing about our Nara Thai Cuisine. Voted as one of Bangkok's Best Thai Restaurants, Nara Thai Cuisine, currently has seven branches across Bangkok and around Asia with restaurants in Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Taiwan, Mumbai, and now in the Philippines.
I had the opportunity to dine here with my wife the other night. I have heard a lot of good things from friends about this restaurant. We did not wait long to be seated. The staff were friendly. We ordered the Beef Curry, Pomelo Salad and the Phad Thai Noodles. Here's my take on the food. The Beef Curry was splendid. I like the curry sauce. It was tasty and the beef was very tender. The Pomelo Salad was average. The Phad Thai Noodles was very good. It was better than People's Palace's Phad Thai. Although i find the prawns were not that fresh. I hope you can improve on this. I would recommend Nara Thai to my friends.
Was curious to try this out as we were craving for Thai food. We liked the food here. Of course we went for the tried and tested Tom Yun Goong, Chicken Pandan and Phad Thai noodles. We liked their Tom Yum. It had the right spiciness to it. Phad Thai was a bit sweet though. While their chicken pandan was ok. We also ordered their Crispy Prawn pancake and Crispy Fried Shrimp cakes. We preferred their crispy prawn pancake. Their prawn yellow curry was also good. Overall, dishes with prawns and shrimps were good. I think the quality of the ingredients were great as well. Ambience was good and service also. Would consider going back here should we crave for Thai food.
I have always been a sucker for thai cuisine, and Nara didn't fail me. Their food is upscale thai but doesnt really cost that much. some of my favourites include: chicken in coconut juice soup; beef brisket with curry; rice in shrimp past; and their nara sampler is a must try too! No wonder theyre always crowded. eould definitely come back here when i get the chance.
The food were great except for the grilled pork as this was too dry for my taste. But the tom yum with shrimp is so good!
The ambiance was nice as well. The staffs were very accomodating to our needs though the service was somewhat slow, maybe because it's lunch time. Not a big issue because the food is superb. Will be back again next time!
