This resto is a pleasant surprise. We were walking along Metropolitan Ave. on a Christmas Eve to look for an open restaurant and was attracted with the lone bright lights on the street.
Upon entering, the staff were very accommodating and allowed us to view their menu before deciding if we will stay to eat or not. Since the prices are affordable and there are different food to choose from we decided to stay.
We ordered 10 sticks samgyoepsal, 3 sticks sausage, 2 korean ramen and 1 Onion Noodles ( not in picture). The food all taste great. The Onion Noodles serving is almost good for 3 people because its so big and full of ingredients. The Korean Ramen taste just right especially its spiciness. The samgyoepsal is tender and juicy. The powder condiments really compliments the taste. There are also free side dishes.. Cabbage kimchi, fermented radish, beans sprouts which is good to eat on their own.
The staff are always ready to assist you. They even took over grilling the meat when we appeared to be so clueless how the grill works.
We will definitely come here to try their other menus.
Awesome place for legit China-taste BBQ! The prices were not bad and the food was good. The beef was tough but maybe it was our fault for overcooking it. The spices you dip the skewers into were great.
I am really amazed of the set-up on how there is a miniature rotisserie in front of me. The meat is really juicy and you can really tell the differences from the lamb to the beef. I also like the powdered flavoring they made us try to incorporate to the barbecue. It is unique and my first time to see this. It compliments to the taste of the meat.
#ShallIReturn at Mr. Wang's BBQ?
Apparently, this place opened last November 2016. I pass by the place everyday as I go home from working the night shift and it was always closed. So I chanced upon it being open yesterday as I was walking home from mass at Sacred Heart.
Place: location is adjacent to Escobar and a bit to the side of Meralco in Metropolitan Avenue. The signages are quite bold and lit up especially at night. Going in, I saw the place was quite deserted at almost 9pm on a Sunday. Inside, it was roomy with a lot of tables conducive for groups. Tables were made of wood and there was a steel grill in the middle of each table.
Service: Right in front, even before I entered the place were 3 waitstaff who were looking out for customers, all clad in black. I was attended to immediately and ushered to a table right at the front part of the place. As soon as I gave my order, they sprung into action. It was quite a novelty being attended to by 3 people! They placed condiments and eagerly explained what each was for when I asked. I hope they continue that mind of service even during their busy hours. They were al so nice!
Food: I ordered 2 sticks of Samgyeopsal initially and 1 steamed rice. They included a serving of mashed sweet potato, pickled radish and a cup of Barley tea. Yey! They also introduced 3 powder spices and 1 sauce that I could use to dip the meat in. All were yummy! The mild spicy wasn’t even that spicy, just a slight hint. The spicy was just right. The sauce was even better especially when you mixed the powder in them. I ended up ordering 1 more stick of Bbq samgyeopsal.
Btw, since I was clueless on how to cook the meat, the wait-staff did it for me.😜
Delicious!!
And yes, will definitely go back again. Their operating hours are from 4pm-4am daily.
