One of the longest running Resto Bar in the Philippines is Cable Car. For more than two decades, they now have 4 branches in Metro Manila. I’ve been here many times already during the times I and my husband used to go out at night, probably more than 10 years ago, that’s why this place is unforgettable for us.
I am not surprised how extensive their list of food is. This branch was fully packed every single time of visit. We used to enjoy finger foods to pair with our drinks back then but it’s my first time to eat this much at Cable Car. In all honesty, I find them really delicious.
My favourite would be the Pica Platter, Pizza, and Gambas.
If you are a Zomato Gold user, the better you visit Cable Car. They offer buy 2 take 2 drinks. And what's better? They don't offer service charge on local beers! Heineken is one of them. My buddy told me, there's a brewery factory of Heineken here. If you don't have a Zomato Gold yet, just visit this site, zoma.to/gl and use my referral code, LAQUIN . I guarantee you, you're in for a treat! ;)
The experience is good. We had fun last night and enjoyed the music. One thing to notice is the room temperature doesn’t give you a reasonable cold. They should fix the aircon.
We ordered a platter of “pulutan” we don’t like the onion rings and the carrot one. Maybe if you can just change this on your menu it could have been better.
They don’t offer bucket and this is sad.
All in all, cable car is good
Cable Car’s one of the few bars I go to and I usually enjoy my experiences there. The staff are mostly friendly and attentive even when the place is packed like a can of sardines. The drinks aren’t bad either and have just the right amount of alcohol to help ease conversations with even the most obnoxious people.
My usual’s the P***eta, a cocktail of iced tea, pineapple juice, and rhum. At P99, you can have a few of them, get a good enough buzz, AND not feel too bad for your wallet. Though if you really wanna have FUN, try their Furo Loco. Warning to the lightweights, stop at ONE and you’re good! Don’t go for a second one or you might start doing some things you’ll regret. Just trust me on this. Lastly, for food, the pizzas are also pretty tasty!
Have a fun night, friends! Always watch out for each other and don’t drink and drive!
Date for Two: Pica-Pica Platter II
💌 Total: P695
Overall:Cable Car has been swinging around the nightlife here in Metro Manila for more than two decades now. Yep, two decades guys! They’re well famous for bring in Beer Pong in the Philippines, and it’s something yuppies of all ages enjoy anytime of the day.
It has been in our minds when it comes to beer pong and drinks. But do you know they offer really good foods as well?
Pica-Pica Platter II (P695) – Cable Car packs a very diverse menu. Don’t know what to order and too lazy to check out each and every dish they offer? Fret not, they have three different platters. Yay! We’ve tried the Platter II, which we think has the best value when it comes to price and quantity of foods included. It has BBQ Chicken Quesadilla, Onion Rings, Crispy Fried Tapa, Potato Wedges and Caesar Salad. Also served with BBQ Sauce and Ranch Dressing.
Btw, they have lots of promos each day, just ask any of their staffs. You might score buy 1 get 1 deals and discounted beer pong sesh that day! So yes, ask away!
Value for money: Worth it!! Fun and homey nightlife vibes awaits.
#DateForTwo at Cable Car
The legendary cable car... since I was young it was already there. Many branches has rose up but I remember the Makati branch well. I believe they relocated 3 times already. Anyways my all time favorite. Cable car rice with a lot of sauce. Everytime I go here it brings back memories.
Friendly and energetic staff. Not too crowded; good place to hang out after work tho alcoholic drinks are pricey. Good music choices (must love 90s and 00s :)
Went here with some friends on a Friday night for some drinks.
Since we haven't had our dinner, we decided to grab some and tried the Sisig Rice (which was just okay). Then, we ordered our drinks and some pub grub. The tapa is perfect, the veggies are quite out of place, and the quesadillas are just okay too.
Most of the crowd are yuppies. The DJ is spinning old 90's songs, some aren't that good. The place has tables for beer pong (which could be your alt source of engagement).
Service and price are both reasonable. The place is good; ac is working fine, not too crowded. Hope they get DJs who can play good hiphop and RnB.
Great place, great atmosphere and ambiance, situated ten minutes by walking from Fairmont hotel, the price range very reasonable, I ordered salad and it was average in taste and presentation. The Dj was playing nice music, it's good place to be with friends. For sure I will visit this place again.
