I've joined a group of foodies as part of the Hoegaarden and Stella Artois bar and foodcrawl. Although I do not drink much alcohol, the bar crawl offers more than just the alcoholic drinks but also a wide variety of food choices from each menu. The main attraction or the common interest of this event is the Stella Artois and the Hoegaarden which are both perfect pair for any kind of bar munchies. Stella Artois is a Belgian pilsner and is one of the best-selling beers because of the high quality and characteristic flavors created from the brewing process. Hoegaarden however has distinctive taste from Belgian wheat and usually spiced that features the aroma of orange peel, coriander and herbs.
Pappy Bistro is the fifth and final stop located at Legaspi Village Makati.
There was a bit of a miscommunication at the time of our visit and we were not entertained right away but we eventually given our seats and finally get to try their dishes. The ones we had were the appetizers.
We were served the Salpicao which is quite tasty and good as the meat is tender. Also we had is the Gambas which is my personal favorite. I loved the light tangy kick in it. Another one we had is the Schublig Platter which is basically a kind of sausage that is smoked and it comes with some coleslaw on the side and fries. They served a huge plate of House Fries which is also good. I like that it is crispy and tasty in itself how much more the Heuvos Rotos which is a similar plate of fries but topped with broken eggs, chorizos and pimientos.
I honestly liked most of the dishes but some may say they were quite a bit overly priced compared to the serving sizes but looking at the place which is somewhat hidden from the busy streets of Makati, it looks like a place for people who wanted to just have a drink and chill and move away from the crowd. The interiors are very simple and cool but I just hope they'd have a better service next time. Overall, the barchow they have are perfect pairing for the Stella Artois and Hoegaarden so make sure to try them on your visit.
Pappy Bistro is a new restaurant located in Central Business District of Makati. The restaurant’s interior was very classy and welcoming. When it comes to food. They offer the typical international dishes which can paired to Hoegaarden Beer and Stella Artois. They have Salpicao for only P360, Gambas for P360, Schublig Platter P475) and House Fries of P200.
Verdict: Prices are lil bit too high.

This new restaurant at Makati serves international dishes. At first, I’m having a hard time finding its location and I’m not familiar with the place. The good thing is they are listed in Zomato. The interior was minimalist, which I find very relaxing and comfy. Same thing with the atmosphere and the lighting. It brings out the classy look of the place.
For the food, top of my choice is the Salpicao (P360), which I partnered with Stella Artois beer. I also tried their Gambas (P360); the shrimp was too salty though it smells good. I recommend adding a sliced lemon to balance out or lessen the saltiness of the shrimp. The Schublig Platter (P475) served with coleslaw and mustard for dips. I was amazed by the huge servings of their House Fries for only (P200) and Heuvos Rotos (a spanish dish, crispy fries topped with egg and chorizo) (P350/single and P600/sharing). All these appetizers are can be partnered with Hoegaarden Beer. They also serve pasta, salad, steak and sandwiches.
Verdict: Honestly, this restaurant did not meet my expectation but I’m looking forward for the improvement especially on their menu and pricing. I suggest to add more affordable dishes.
